It was a hectic day at work for Lena but between the meetings she managed to text Kara. Ignoring the constant bickering of the shareholders she managed to sneak out her phone to type under the table.
Lena: "Take out and movie tonight? Just no horror movies this time. :) "
The CEO smiled at the memory of two of them watching IT for the first time together. It wasn`t just the movie which brought smile to Lena`s face it was the opportunity of being close to Kara. Being snuggled under the blanket with the blonde made her heart full. Her phone vibrated in her hand and she saw text from the blonde.
Kara: "YESS! I`ll be at work a little bit longer than usually. I`ll be home around 8:30 PM."
Lena: "Don`t worry I`ll try to wrap it up soon as my shareholders try to agree on something."
Kara: "Are you in a meeting? Oh my, Miss Luthor you`re not paying attention. :)"
Lena chuckled at the witty response from the blonde. Indeed, she was in a meeting but sitting there over two and a half hours started to tire Lena. They were bunch of old men in suits arguing about God knows what. This whole charade should`ve ended an hour ago, not to mention that she was the only woman at the table. Lena`s patience was about to run out and she abruptly stood up and gathered her papers, earning herself some odd looks from the shareholders.
"That will be all gentlemen. I hope to see you at the end of the month." – she graciously started walking towards the door when one of the men spoke: "But Lena we are not finished yet. We still have to go through last month's profits."
She turned around slightly irritated and spoke calmly as she could. "All the information you need is in front of you on the desk, Mr. Moore. I don't have time for your nonsense, I have company to run." – she said and stared at the man as if she waited for his response.
"I`m sorry Lena but we can`t… - Mr. Moore was interrupted by another member.
"It`s alright Jeremy, I think we`ve taken enough time from Miss Luthor." – the other members just nodded and mumbled something non audible.
The CEO smiled mouthing "thank you" as she left the conference hall. She was walking to her office just to see Jess stationed at her desk. Her assistant stood up quickly.
"Miss Luthor, is meeting already over?"- she walked by her boss as they entered the office.
"It was time, and from now on – I'm deciding when is or not meeting over." – Jess smiled at her boss being proud for having strength to endure such behavior from men.
As the raven haired woman was clearing her desk she asked Jess if she could make an order from Chinese restaurant for 9 PM.
"And the address?"- Lena lifted her head.
"No, Jess. Kara Danvers address. Be free to order more than usual… I mean more as if four people are about to eat. Don`t forget potstickers."
Jess was confused because her boss was leaving earlier than usual.
"Leaving earlier today?"- said Jess.
"Yes. Soon as you finish what you need to do, you can also leave."- Jess smiled brightly at the CEO.
Lena entered the elevator and pressed the button for the lobby. She would be lying if she wasn't excited for movie night. Spending time with Kara is the best thing, she didn't think about L-Corp and other problems she was dealing with. Before she could head to Kara's apartment she needed to take shower and change clothes.
The raven haired woman stepped out of the shower, went to brush her teeth. As she was brushing her teeth she was deciding what to wear. After all it was casual hang out on Kara's couch watching a movie and eating Chinese.
She decided on wearing skinny blue jeans and grey sweater – this was casual as a Luthor could go. Lillian would be appalled by her wardrobe choice, "Elegance is an attitude, Lena. Behave like you have one.". She applied some perfume, grabbed her phone and keys and went through the door.
Kara managed to finish her work before 8:30 PM so she flied home. Her apartment was a mess and she couldn't allow it. She used her super speed and cleared her living room, empty plates and glasses on the table, clothes on the floor. Now, she only had to take a shower and change in something more comfortable.
Just as Lena was about to enter Kara's building she saw the delivery guy and asked if the order was for Kara Danvers. He said yes and she grabbed the bags herself. Even though it was already paid she gave him a generous tip. Lena exited the elevator and walked to Kara's door. As she was about to knock the blonde opened the door. The CEO smiled at her sweetly.
"Hi, Kara. How did you know I was here?" – Lena said smiling as she stood at the door.
"Super hearing… I mean I had… I had sixth sense. You know…" – Kara was a mess.
"Are we going to stand here forever?" – Lena teased the blonde. Kara jumped away from the door saying she was sorry.
"Please do come in, make yourself comfortable."
Lena placed the bags on the kitchen counter and went to sit on the couch. The blonde went through the bags making exciting noises.
"Did you buy like the whole restaurant? There is food for more than 5 people here."- she said and looked at Lena who was sitting cross-legged on the couch.
"Almost, darling. I know you have such an appetite." – Kara blushed at the endearment and Lena didn't immediately register what she said and she tried to change the topic.
"So, what are we watching tonight?" – Kara smirked at her as she brought the food to the living room.
"Well… I was thinking…" – Lena cut her off immediately.
"Don't tell me it`s another horror movie." – she tried to pout but to Kara she looked like she was adorable.
"But it`s not scary as the last one. I promise. If you do get scared, you can snuggle with me." – Lena was speechless, she was burning inside.
