A/N: Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA! I hate that I have to keep writing this message, but I have to since people like to write distasteful comments on my story. If you do NOT LIKE MY STORY THEN I KINDLY ASK YOU TO MOVE ON TO THE NEXT STORY! If you don't like it and don't want to read my reading then it's simple just don't. It is disheartening and rude to put an author down with rude comments, especially when I DO THIS FOR FREE OUT OF MY OWN ENJOYMENT. I almost deleted all of my stories and left fanfic for good because this behavior is childish and toxic. In other news Happy Birthday Tony Goldwyn I love him so much. Also, my baby was a part of the last group to have their commencement today at Annapolis! I'm so so proud of him and all of his accomplishments. Lastly, I am sorry some of y'all did not like the direction the story headed, but to me Fitz was not ready to be in a relationship at that moment. Now, it's five years later he's gotten himself together and olitz can get into a healthy and mature relationship.
"Thank you so much for coming and supporting Ty on his big day…." Olivia smiled at Fitz. He looked amazing as always. She could tell he had recently cut his hair and freshly shaved. Olivia tried to keep up with Fitz as the years passed, but helping to run the Spanish division of the architect firm was hard work and on top of that trying to learn Spanish. She also had to worry about Tyler and Cassie so they just lost touch. Fitz tried to keep up with writing to the children, but as the years passed the letters got fewer and fewer, so he figured he was a bother to them.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world Livvie….You knew how much your children meant to me….You look beautiful…." Olivia had on a white Tyler Pope Real Madrid jersey and they had given him Ronaldo's number 7. She paired that with ripped boyfriend jeans and white sneakers.
"Thank you so much again...I know it means a lot to Tyler that you could make it…." Olivia smiled and Fitz returned the smile. He was just happy to be around her.
"You look amazing yourself…." Olivia mentioned that he too was dressed in Tyler's jersey, jeans and desert boots.
"Can I give you a hug?" Fitz asked as he's been dying to do so as soon as he heard her voice.
"Of course you can…." Olivia smiled as Fitz took her in his arms and everything felt right. He had worked hard the last five years to get himself better for when Olivia comes back. Being the age of 47 he is ready to marry Olivia and raise children with her. If she will have him. Sticking to therapy has been a blessing in his life. He didn't realize all that anger he held towards his biological parents never went away.
Fitz worked hard in therapy and now he's feeling better than ever.
"I've missed you Livvie…."
"I've missed you too Fitz...More than you can imagine….Now that the children are older...Tyler being well settled here and old enough to be on his own...I've accepted the offer to run the architectural firm I work for…."
"Congratulations...Livvie...So where is the firm going to be….?"
"In LA….It's the one I worked in when we were together….."
"Livvie….does that mean there's a chance for us….That you are coming back to me…?" Fitz asked in a shaky voice. This was his dream come true.
"Yes, Fitz….I have been away from you long enough and I want us to build a healthy relationship now…"
"Livvie….I promise it will be better this time...I am better this time…..You are the love of my life and if you'll have me forever that would be amazing….I was selfless when I let you go five years ago, but now I have to be selfish because I need you in my life...I'm going to marry you and we are going to have babies...Two babies...I think" Fitz smiled and grabbed Olivia's hand and kissed it.
"One step a time cowboy….We'll work at a pace we are both comfortable with because I am tired of missing you...I've missed being in your arms and the love you had for me…"
"The love I have for you...I love you so much it hurts….These five years I have held on hope that one day you'll come back to me and now you've made me the happiest man on the earth…."
"For the first time in five years I feel like I can let out this breath I've been holding…." Olivia smiled at Fitz.
"I want you to know that there's only been you...No one else in the past five years….." Fitz and Olivia had goofy smiles on their faces as Fitz has not let go of Olivia's hand.
"I hope you don't mind. I brought some people who wanted to tag along…." Fitz smiled as Olivia looked behind her. It was Big Jerry and Adele. Olivia instantly got up and hugged the two.
"Thank you so much for coming…" Olivia said as she whipped a tear from her eye.
"When Fitz told us Tyler had invited him to his first game starting for Real Madrid we had to come witness history in the making. An American making the starting XI for Real Madrid is historic….I have been keeping up with young Tyler's career….We are so so proud of him and all of his accomplishments….Winning the U21 World Cup with the USA is very impressive...Most importantly...He's been like a grandson to us so of course we had to come and support…" Big Jerry said with a smile.
"Olivia we are so proud of you and your children….We have missed you dearly and hope that you and my son can work things out now…." Adele smiled and took hold of Olivia's hand.
"I don't know about you guys, but when I go to sporting events I prefer to be with the crowd! Come on, it's El Clasico!" Big Jerry spoke.
"Dad since when did you get so into soccer?" Fitx asked while laughing.
"Well when my soon to be official grandson is playing for one of the best football clubs in Europe I have to!" Big Jerry laughed and headed towards the seats in the crowd.
"What do you say Olivia Pope….Take my hand and face the world together?" Fitz held out his hand and Olivia took it. They joined Big Jerry and Adele in the lower level of the Bernabeu and the atmosphere was amazing. Soon the teams exited the tunnel and Olivia and Fitz cheered their hearts out for Tyler. He looked so good and confident in his Real Madrid uniform. They did their pregame usuals and the teams took their starting XI pictures. Tyler saw his mom and Fitz as well as Big Jerry and Adele. He smiled and waved at them.
He was so happy Fitz and his parents made it to his big day. It has been a long journey, but here he was about to make the biggest start of his life. Winning the World Cup for U21 certainly helped convince Zidan his true potential. Not that Zizou didn't know his potential, but it helped his case of being in the starting XI. With him, Mbappe, Haaland up front they were the new attacking trio that Europe will fear. It took a while to win the Madrid fans over since he was American, but his skills were undeniable. The Madridistas loves him now and thinks Tyler is the new Ronaldo. The game went on and in the first half both teams had good chances to score, but no luck. Fitz thought Tyler played amazing if not the best player out there.
Messi was getting old and this was possibly his last season at Barcelona so he couldn't be the dominant player he once was. The defense did their best to stop Tyler because he was so fast. During halftime Olivia and Fitz went to get some beers and food. Fitz had not let go of Olivia's hand since they left their seats. As they waited in line Fitz couldn't stop talking about how amazing Tyler was. He looked like a proud dad. He stopped talking and just smiled at Olivia.
"Thank you for coming back into my life Livvie…."
"Thank you for waiting for me Fitz…."
"I would wait for eternity if I needed to...I love you Livvie…." Fitz took Olivia into his arms and kissed the side of Olivia's head. After ordering their food they headed back to their seats. As the second half started the game was electric because both teams were amazing. Olivia, Fitz, Big Jerry and Adele were on the edge of their seats. They were entering the 83rd minute when Tyler had the ball and worked his way past the mid fielders and the defenders.
Now there was only one defender left and he fake left and the defender fell for it and took the shot outside of the box. Olivia and Fitz held their breath as the ball went in behind the net and the whole stadium erupted in cheers. Tyler ran to one of the corners and did the Ronaldo "SUIII" celebration, which pumped up the crowd even more. The team celebrated and they resetted. In the 90th minute he drew the penalty and it was up to Mbappe to take it. It was a no brainer for the footballer as Real Madrid finished Barcelona with a 2-0 win. Tyler ran over to his mom and she reached down from the stands to give him a hug. He also gave Fitz s big hug too and was ecstatic to see Big Jerry and Adele.
Tyler was about to say something when he felt an arm around him. When he turned around it was a little boy. He instantly knew the boy was a pitch invader.
"YOU ARE MY HERO...When I grow up I want to be just like you…." The boy said as security tried to take him away.
"No please...It's okay let him stay." Tyler smiled and crotched down to the boy.
"I'm happy to hear that...Work hard and never give up on your dream….Hey you might be my teammate one day…." Tyler smiled and took off his jersey.
"Here...this is for you...Work hard and never give up…." Tyler said to the boy as he signaled for a pen. He signed the jersey and took some pictures with the boy. Tyler smiled and turned back to his family.
"Baby...that was so nice of you…." Olivia said as she was touched by her son's actions.
"Fitz actually taught me that...To never turn away a fan no matter their age….They pay so much money to see us a few seconds out of my life won't kill me…." Tyler smiled.
"That's my Ty Guy!" Fitz said as he slapped up Tyler.
After the game Tyler, Olivia, Fitz, Big Jerry and Adele went to go get a late dinner. Then he headed out to celebrate with his friends. Big Jerry and Adele flew home the next day because he had some pressing matters in Congress and being Speaker of the House his presence was needed. Fitz decided he was going to stay until Olivia moved back to LA again. Tyler decided to give Fitz a tour of the Bernabeu, the stadium where Real Madrid play.
When they arrived at the front of Bernabeu Tyler told Olivia and Fitz he would take their photo. Fitz put his arm around Olivia's waist and pulled her towards him. He leaned his head on Olivia's and smiled (I envisioned the picture Kerry posted for Tony's birthday wish). The picture turned out amazing and Fitz made a mental note to change that as his screensaver. After the tour they grabbed lunch while Tyler had to leave for training. Olivia and Fitz roamed through the streets of Madrid.
For dinner they decided to stay in as Fitz missed Olivia's cooking. She decided to make him spanish rice and beef curry. She also made empanadas for them. Fitz was a happy man. They spent all of dinner catching up and enjoying each other's company. Fitz reached in and stole a couple of kisses. He was finally happy. The hole in his life has been filled now. It was only looked up from here. After they cleaned up from dinner. Fitz put on soft music. He turned and smiled at Olivia.
"Dance with me?" Olivia nodded and walked into Fitz's arms. Fitz held Olivia hand towards his heart as they swayed to "Can't help but fallin in love with you by Elivs Preseley ''.
