A/N: This is it—the beginning of Elsa's debut. The narrative has been building to the chapter that follows these notes; and while it will be far from her only debut in the story, it is wonderful to see it come into being. If anyone is inspired by the end scene and has artistic skills, please reach out.

We have some music to accompany the end. Search for Audiomachine's *Tree of Life*, "Above and Beyond" on YouTube.

0:00 — Elsa touched Fjørå's right side with her cane.
0:19 — She felt weary.
0:33 — "He is a link to my past and to who I am."
0:48 — "Steady, girl."
1:03 — The wind and sky obeyed.
1:18 — Fjørå stepped off the bridge and into the village.
1:32 — They passed Market Square … Royal Square.
1:40 — The flat cobblestone streets of the village gave way to the incline of Hill Street.
1:47 — The horse broke into a stately lope.
2:02 — Elsa adopted a forward seat and put her hands on Fjørå's neck.
2:32 — Then Elsa crested the rise.

Also, I should like to send out a big thank you to Siren of Ahtohallan for her discussion of and insight into several parts of our story. For the following chapter, she contributed significantly to Fjørå, as well as the necklace. These elements have knock-on effects our story (in a good way), and become quite significant in what is coming up.

D/N: Greetings my fellow Frozen fans, allow me to introduce myself to you. My name is SGT Nerd Y. Fangirl. I am the director of this wonderful Frozen fanfiction. And, yes, I am unashamedly biased. I am not a beta reader nor am I the official writer, but I definitely direct the tone of the story. If you have any issues with the characterizations, you can blame me. If you have any issues with the continuity within the fandom and franchise, please direct your concerns at me.

Back in December 2019 after the release of the magnificent Frozen II, PerfectGentlemanO, or PGO for short, came to me on the Discord Arendelle Kingdom's chat server with a request to role play as Elsa for an idea he had in mind. I was completely opposed to this absurd notion. First of all, despite being a die-hard Star Wars fangirl (my one true love), I don't RP anything. Secondly, I would NEVER want to RP someone as magnificent as Elsa. Talk about the pressure. And yet, PGO sought me out because per my posts and discussions on AK, he felt that I had a really good grasp of Elsa's characterization. As well as, many of the other elements and characters of Frozen. This actually surprised even myself as I just never really thought of it that way.

Now backing up, 10 months prior to this exchange on AK, I began to read Frozen fanfiction on . I first learned of this website years ago from reading Remington Steele fanfiction, my favorite television show. After the February 2019 Frozen II teaser trailer was released, I became reimmersed into this wonderful fandom and needed more. I had questions. I needed answers. Even if they were artistically licensed answers. I immersed myself into virtually every Frozen fanfiction out, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I learned so much more about the Frozen fandom that I never knew about. I had no idea what ships were or headcanons or OCs. Oh, my! I studied how the writers wrote. I took notes. Who had the best spot on characterizations that I felt were closest to Jennifer Lee's writing? Who were most respectful of the franchise and the characters? Who incorporated the Frozen elements into their story best? Who respected franchise continuity by incorporating other Frozen novels and literature? As a die-hard Star Wars fangirl, continuity and respect of the franchise are absolutely critical to me. I don't wish to change or alter what I already love but rather enhance and immerse myself into the world which was already created for me.

PGO came to me with zero experience with fanfiction, let alone Frozen fanfiction. He had never read any of them. He wanted to RP a romantic scene for Elsa. To which I just rolled and rolled my eyes. There's a lot of romance for Elsa out there. And I was not having it as I prefer that aspect of Elsa be left alone. But, alas, I caved. And soon one RP session lead to writing a scene. And writing one scene lead to expanding it to a chapter. Before we knew it, and with my strong insistence, a story was being brought to life. A Frozen fanfiction. And one to honor some of my absolute favorite Frozen fanfiction authors, Onora (Daughters of Arendelle) and Grrlgeek72 (who passed away this year back in January) who wrote the Worthy Queen of Greatness trilogy, amongst others. Their love and respect for the franchise and characters were deeply felt by me in their beautiful words. I have yet to read a Frozen fanfiction romance that carefully balances all of the Frozen elements well. Usually, something goes to the wayside, not enough magic, not enough Anna, where the heck is Olaf, why is Kristoff so mopey, why is Elsa so angsty? Creating a solid Frozen fanfiction romance actually is possible if you have the right collaboration.

This endeavor is truly a collaboration between PGO and me. Nearly every day we have worked on this story since December 2019. It has gone through many changes and tones. But, ultimately, you can read the finished product. We are very, very proud of our hard work and effort. I have an idea. He writes it. He has a particular scene in mind. I question the tone or characterization. I research the various novels and characters. We've even included some well known Frozen fanfiction OC characters, as well, here and there in cameo roles. See if you can spot them! But, I could never ever write like PGO. His words are just beautiful. He brings such a cultured intelligence to this story the evokes novels of yore. And it really suits this time frame. This chapter you are about to read is a very special chapter indeed. The last portion is set to the Audiomachine's "Above and Beyond". Die-hard Frozen fans will understand the inference. Thank you for reading our story.

We hope you like it. There's a lot more to come. May the Frozen be with you.
