I Didn't Have A Choice-Ch 19
Over the next few minutes Derek had toed off his shoes and climbed in bed with Penelope so he could hold her in his arms, after being away from her he needed to hold her, to feel her so that he would know she was safe. He kissed the top of her head and said, "I can't wait to put this on your finger" as he held out her wedding band in the palm of his hand.
She took the beautiful band and said, "it should have already been on my finger but I, I screwed up", Derek said, "hey, hey, look at me baby girl, come on look at me". She looked up at him and he said, "you did what you thought was best, you did what you did to save me sweetness", Penelope blew out a deep breath and Derek said, "we're together now, that's all that matters".
Penelope said, "our wedding day was suppose to be the happiest day of my life and then, then after the girls left me alone for a few minutes before Dave was to come walk me down the aisle, well everything happened all at once". Derek felt his heart breaking as he listened to her tell him everything that had happened".
He held her close and said, "I love you, I love you so much and in a day or two you're going to be my wife, you Penelope Grace Garcia are going to be Penelope Morgan and I can't wait for that to happen". She weakly smiled and looked up into his handsome face and said, "me either my love, me either".
Derek took his finger and wiped away the tears that were streaming down her cheeks, he said, "I've got my world here in my arms, you and our baby are my world and I'm going to do everything I can to keep you both safe, happy and healthy", She sighed and said, "I missed you so much, you don't know how much".
He said, "ohhhh but I do, I wasn't me without you, all I wanted was to see you, to hold you, to tell you how much I love you and how much you truly mean to me". Penelope said, "I was so afraid that I would never get to see you or the others, my heart was breaking at the thoughts of raising our baby alone".
Derek said, "I'm here now and we will raise this little angel here together, I am going to love you with everything in me and I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that we have a long and happy life together with our children". She grinned and said, "children huh, how many are you thinking"?, he said, "ohhhhhh at least 3 or 4".
Penelope laughed and said, "let's just see how things go with this one first, butttttt, more children sounds amazing, just as long as I can have them with you handsome". He kissed the end of her nose and said, "I love you baby girl", she said, "and I love you handsome, more than I ever thought it was possible to love anyone".
Derek caressed her cheek and leaned in and pressed his lips gently against hers, he quickly deepened the kiss, earning a moan of pleasure from his baby girl. They reluctantly pulled apart when they heard Emma clearing her throat, Derek smiled and said, "hi Emma, ohhhhhh something smells amazing".
Penelope said, "ohhhh it sure does and this momma and bride-to-be is starving", Emma said, "the others are still eating but I know what hospital food is like soooooo I wanted to make sure that the two of you got your food while it was still hot". Derek and Penelope sat up in bed and Emma pushed her tray over her bed and said, "enjoy" as she pulled the cover off of their food.
Derek said, "ohhhhh this looks wonderful, thank you Emma", Penelope said, "yes, thanks Em", Emma winked and said, "no problem, well I'm going to head out, you two enjoy your food and we'll all be back later". Penelope and Derek smiled and nodded their heads yes as they watched their new friend turn around and walk out of the room.
Penelope said, "let's eat, I'm starving", Derek laughed and said, "me to goddess, me too" as they started practically devouring their amazing chicken club sandwiches and fries.
