Emma's POV

Kahlie went home after breakfast today. She didn't look sad, but she was disappointed. We all gave her a group hug on her way out with her family. In the Woman's Room, we could all feel the tension. It was getting too real. My mother left last night, so now I was alone.

I was flipping through pages of Selection Magazine. It was dedicated to the Selection in general. Gossip, predictions, and of course critics. I stumbled upon an article talking about who would be best suited for Queen.

Of course we want Imogene to win, she is the most Queen like out of any of these girls. She and King Elias would be a perfect match, and they could balance each other out well. She is outgoing and charming while King Elias is more shy and quiet. She could help bring out the best in him.

Katie would be our next bet. She's innocent and sweet and overall very pretty. She wouldn't be Queen material at all in the slightest, however. She lacks the courage a Queen needs. King Elias better open his eyes and see that and quickly if he wants to make the right choice.

I rolled my eyes. Katie was misjudged in the article. She is very Queen like material, although I would never say that out loud.

Emma of course would be our next bet. She's dignified and strong. Maybe she's a bit too stubborn and rude though? Would King Elias even want that in a Queen? We will have to see.

I bit the inside of my cheek. Of course they would say that.

Gwendolyn is amazing! She's smart and extroverted! Obviously she would be the most likely for Queen, but we don't see King Elias with her too much? Why? Does he not like her? Was there drama we didn't see?

The only drama they didn't see is that Gwen clearly wasn't here to fall in love. If anything, I think she's here just to enjoy the new adventure thrown at her.

And lastly, Sasha. Don't even get me started on Sasha. She's hot-headed, stubborn and feisty. Obviously NOT Queen material. We could only hope that King Elias makes the right choice, and that he realizes what is best for his country.

I put the magazine down. Too much drama even for me. I rubbed my temples and looked at the girls. Emmy was sipping on coffee and reading a book, something from the second era. I believe it's called The Wizard of Oz, yet I can't be sure.

Katie was quietly talking with Gwen, and Gwen had out her sketch book. Katie laughed at a joke Gwen said, and Gwen was beaming. Sasha was staring out the window, clearly something was on her mind.

There was a knock on the door, and everyone went silent and looked at it. One maid opened it up. Elias was standing at the doorway. Most of the girls looked excited. "Hi Ladies" He said. I waved back. Katie and Gwen both said "Hi!". Sasha looked at Elias and smiled.

"Can I borrow Gwen?" He asked, looking at Gwen. She nodded and sat up, handing the sketch book to Katie for save keeping. I could only think of what Elias was going to say to here when she walked out.

Elias's POV

I walked with Gwen in the garden, talking about the dresses she had designed and her thoughts. I had been lucky to be friends with her. She really wanted to design the wedding dress of the future Queen.

"So, Gwen, who do you think you're going to design a dress for?" I asked. She smiled. "Honestly, Katie." She said with a nod. "She's so kind and she would be perfect Queen material. I'm so excited to design anyone's dress, though."

I nodded and stopped walking. "Have you, ever heard of the wedding dress designer Marryln Juste?" I asked. Her eyes lit up. "Only for about my entire life! I love her. She is my inspiration and I just want to meet her one day and tell her that!" She was beaming from ear to ear.

I smiled, knowing what I was going to say next. "Well, I talked to her about letting you have a job after the Selection working for her and she said if I recommended you, that she knows its a good choice."

Her face was pale. "What?" She asked. "I got you a job working with Marryln after the Selection." I smiled. She yelled in excitement and attacked me in a hug. I laughed. "OMG REALLY? ELIAS I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY THANK YOU!" She was yelling in my ear.

"Don't mention it, Gwen. You deserve it." I said. She beamed. "You are absolutely amazing, Elias." She said.

"I try" I answered back, shrugging it off. She laughed.

Yay! I'm so happy for Gwen! She deserves it! :)
