Chapter 18
On the pier, in Juuban Park, present day
"What have I done?" Seiya gasps, falling hard on his knees.
"You see it now, don't you?" Mamoru asks, kneeling beside Seiya.
"I….I….yes. What have I done? Oh god. I screwed up so badly. Will she ever forgive me? How could I be so blind?"
"Love makes us do strange things, and can blind us to what is in front of us."
"This is so much worse than blind. I have been selfish, pushy, rude, disrespectful, and so hurtful to her, and to you. I am so very sorry. I can never make it up to either of you."
"Love is a dangerous thing."
"This wasn't love. This was obsession. This was stalking, and harmful. Why did you let it go on for so long?"
"Out of love for Usagi. Losing a friend that means a great deal to her, will hurt her. I had to stand back, and hope, you would see things yourself. I stepped in, only because I had to. Because Usako asked me to."
"But she got hurt any way."
"She did, but you still have a chance to make it right."
"She'll never forgive me."
"You forget who you are talking about. My Usako is the most forgiving person in the world. Talk to her, apologize, explain. She will forgive you."
"She shouldn't. I certainly don't forgive myself."
"Whether she does, or doesn't is her choice to make. You forgiving yourself is entirely on you."
"How could she possibly forgive me for this?"
"Think of this. Galaxia killed all of her friends and me, Nehelenia took all of us from Usako for revenge, Prince Diamond kidnapped her and tried to force himself on her, even my own guard killed her friends in another life plus tried multiple times to kill her. She forgave every last one of them."
"Thanks for that reminder asshole." A male voice behind Seiya says.
"Sorry Jad. Just stating facts. My point is, Seiya, is she forgave all of them, and their actions were much worse than yours. She will forgive you. You just have to make sure you are honest, and sincerely apologize." Mamoru says.
"I…I will try." Seiya agrees.
"Good. Here is my number. When you are ready, I will set up for you two to meet. Understand that I will be there for this."
"I understand, and I expect nothing less your majesty. Thank you."
"It's just Mamoru. You're welcome." Mamoru and the others turn to walk away.
"UH. Mamoru. What about my punishment?" Seiya asks.
"It is tabled for now. That is subject to changed based on your actions." Mamoru responds and they all disappear.
Leaving Seiya to think, and plan his next move.
