Chapter 21

It was a fortune opportunity that Mrs. Nash allowed the girls to come to the Magic Kingdom. Both Jess and Amanda didn't hesitate to roam around to continue their search. Maybeck and Charlene were back at Disney Springs to also search there. And Philby and Willa took their search to the very back room of the library so they can use Philby's laptop without anyone looking for them. And Philiby's mother didn't like the idea of him being around anything involving the Kingdom Keepers. But somehow she agreed to a study date with Willa.

David kept himself hidden on Tom Sawyer's Island. Exhausted after the long morning of searching for Finn and Nikki. He had no luck yet. But he did managed to message Amanda and Jess to give them the location to where he was hidden. They had to take a boat ride to reach him. While the crowds were too busy taking pics and hanging around at the house, both girls rushed to the hidden side of the building. David had to keep himself hidden from the camera's view. Already a couple of children tried to stop him. Thinking that he was a DHI character. One of them was surprised to see him and wondered if he was a new characters. He played along for a bit to say that he was. Hoping that he could just leave. Luckily a mother called her daughter over and she ran off. Allowing him to escape before he could draw any more attention.

"Psst!" David whispered loudly to get their attention. Jess nearly jumped out of her skin. Before realizing that it was only David in invisible mode.

"Did you find them, David?" Amanda whispered, keeping her voice low in case anyone was watching them.

"Not yet. But I'm not giving up. They're somewhere. I just know it." He responded.

"But what if the Overtakers took them to another park?" Jess warned.

"Then I'll move to another park. I'm not going to rest till I find them." David said exhaustedly.

"I know the feeling. I couldn't sleep well. Even when Jess and I had a few hours left before we were supposed to be up" Amanda frowned.

"We better make this quick before Mrs Nash comes looking for us and takes us back. I think we only have two hours left." Jess spoke up in concern.

"It's alright, Amanda. You and Jess have done so much already. And I wouldn't want to get you both into trouble." David ensured them.

Amanda smiled by this, gently placing a hand onto David's shoulder. "Thanks, but you don't have to worry about us. It's Finn and Nikki that we're worried about. But it's unfair that we can't stay longer." Those words ached her heart. The thought that she couldn't do more to find Finn really hurt her. If could, she would completely run away from Mrs Nash and wouldn't rest until Finn was in her arms again. But the thought of the police going after her and Mrs Nash forbidding her from ever leaving besides going to school stopped her plans completely.

David, along with Amanda and Jess sticked around for a few more hours before they saw that the sun was setting. It was close to the time when Mrs Nash would have the girls back and were accounted for. Amanda was upset that they already had to leave without finding a single clue to Finn and Nikki's whereabouts. But Jess finally convinced her that they had to leave and they would return tonight in their DHI forms.

David sadly watched as the two girls were turning and heading towards Fantasyland to leave the park. With the other Keepers still during their searches in other parks and at the library, David was alone again.

While the crowds were dying down, David was able to sneak over to one of the security offices that was hidden close to Cinderella's castle. He pulled out a cell phone that Wayne had given him to make a quick phone call to Wayne.

"Are you still at the Magic Kingdom?" David could hear Wayne's voice from the other side of the phone.

"Yes, I am. The girls and I have done our search. But there's no sign of Finn and Nikki anywhere." He said in a hushed voice, in case there were the security guards or the Overtakers around the area.

"This is worse than I thought. David, you'll need to wake up and return to your body. You won't be good if you keep sleeping. It's draining you out the longer you're in the Syndrome." Wayne showed a bit of concern in his voice.

"I need for time." David begged. "Another night to find them. Connect the other Keepers. Have them meet me in their DHI forms at Animal Kingdom. We'll do our search there next. Please, just one more night."

Wayne signed over the phone. "Fine, but you must be careful. All of you are still in danger of the Overtakers. There's no doubt that they're trying to find ways to trap you all again. And next time will not be easy to get out of."

"I know." David said with certainly. "I need to go." Before he could allow Wayne to talk more, he quickly hangs up the phone. Making his move to head with the leaving crowd. Allowing the emotions of his grief to make himself visible in order to blend in and not draw attention. Once he was out of the park and out of reach of the camera, he turned invisible and began to make his way down into the bus. Luckily, there were only a few people there. Allowing himself to sit in one of the seats without the people seeing him.

The whole day was brutal for Finn and Nikki. Getting out of Animal Kingdom wasn't easy for neither one of them. They felt that they had eyes upon them wherever they went. Even when the guests there and more security, it didn't ease their fears. The Overtakers were one step ahead of them.

They had an encounter with a couple of lions that were about to strike at them. Both managed to out run them which gotten the attention of some of the people that thought it was just another entertainment performance.

Another was when a bunch of monkeys were grabbing at them to drag them away from the crowds. Nikki's quick thinking and self-defense managed to shove the monkeys away and pulled Finn away from them. She received shocked reactions of the crowds, but she didn't care. She and Finn ran from the scene and were forced to hide out in one of the storage rooms that didn't have cameras.

Nikki got to the point where she broke down and cry, forgetting that they were supposed to be quiet to avoid being found. Finn though understood how she felt. He was on the edge of tears as well. This was all too much for him. He had to deal with the Overtakers for years since he became a Kingdom Keeper. He lost his best friend. He put his other friends into danger. Even putting his own family into danger at one time.

He thought about wanting to wrap an arm around her to comfort her. But he thought of Amanda. But he did place a hand on top of Nikki's hand in comfort. "Just hang in there. We'll get out of this somehow. I won't let them keep us here." He calmly said to her, needing to be a guide in order to protect them both.

Nikki turned to him with tears in her eyes. His smile made her feel that she was completely safe with him. She saw that Finn truly was a good friend. Helping her out with situations as much as she helped him a few times before.

"I trust you." Nikki responded, this time with a little confidence. Nodding her head.

"We just need to wait till the parks get close to closing time. We'll sneak over to one of the security booths. We'll see if the button is at the lost and found. If not, we'll find a phone to call Philby."

Nikki nodded to his plan. "Alright. The sun should be setting here soon. Then we'll make our move."

It wasn't long before the sun set. Finn and Nikki kept into the shadows to hide from sight from anyone. Luckily they managed to sneak over to the booth. The security guard was too distracted by his own work to see them going through the door. Then they sneaked passed him quickly, causing him to stir and turn around in fright. Seeing no one behind him, he thought the long shift was making him lose his mind and then turned his attention back towards the cameras.

Meanwhile in the darkest parts of the room, Finn and Nikki blended in carefully. Staring up at the cameras to see some of the crowds beginning to leave or head for the Rivers of Light show at the lake. There was something on one of the screens that caught Finn's attention. A woman was walking around, dressed in an elegant dress that had a familiar spots on them. It looked like she was covering her face with a huge fancy sun hat. But Finn knew too well who the woman was. Cruella De Vil.

Finn watched carefully was she was walking passed the crowds to try to get to the other side. It looked like she was making her way over towards the entrance. Where the security booth was. She was looking for them.

(Sorry for the long wait for this and the length to it. I've been so busy and almost forgot the story. Hopefully I can get back onto this whenever I'm not busy.)
