Epilogue

Four months later

"Thomas Michael Shelby!" Kate shouts as she storms into the pub, furious. Four men whip around, pointing guns at her. She's startled for a moment, and then she recognizes Billy Kimber. "Kimber, tell your buffoons to point those guns the other way before my father has all of you murdered!"

"Lower the guns, now!" Kimber shouts and his men comply. He inhales. "What are you doing down here?"

Kate exhales. "Well, you heard me shouting my husband's name, so, I'm sure you can guess that I want to talk to him!"

Kimber stiffens. "You're married to Shelby?"

"Yes." She shoots Thomas a glare. "He may not be alive when you leave here!" Thomas frowns slightly at her, but he can see she's on the warpath. "I'm delivering a message from my father to you. He says you've got 24 hours to hand over Cheltenham races to my husband, legally and nobody gets hurt." Kimber's eyes bulge in shock. "Take it up with my father, but you and your men, clear out. NOW!" Some of the men move before Kimber gives the order. "I want a word with my husband!"

Kimber doesn't even hesitate; he and his men hurry out of the Garrison. Everyone exhales in relief as Thomas stands up. "Right, now Kate," she grabs Arthur's whiskey glass straight from his hand and chucks it at his head! Thomas ducks, barely missing it. He pops up, fury on his face. "what the hell is wrong with you!?" he bellows at her. Kate grabs an empty beer mug from another and throws it at Thomas, which again, he manages to evade! All the men in the pub, including John and Arthur, scatter. "What the f**k, Kate?"

"Don't you go swearing at me!" Kate shouts as she grabs another glass to throw. "Why the hell are you and my father wound up with Kimber? Risking everything for a stupid race track!"

"Kate, will you just," Kate throws the glass, nailing Thomas's foot. "ow! Will you f**king calm down!?"

Every man in the pub groans, knowing those were clearly the wrong words. "Calm down!?" She shrieks. "Calm down!?"

"Just let her get it out Tom." Arthur advises as he watches Kate and Thomas walk around and around a table, watching each other like a dog hunting a fox. "She's pissed at you."

"What the hell did I do, Kate?"

"God!" another glass goes flying at his head. "Are you really that stupid Thomas Shelby? Because I could have sworn you were a much smarter man than you're acting!"

"Kate-

"I'm pregnant," Thomas nearly falls over. "and you're running around, pissing off men like Kimber and I'm supposed to calm down!?"

"Kate-

"Stop Kating me and you better start coming up with a damn good reason why you're doing something so stupid!" she shouts as she inhales deeply, hormones raging out of control. "Do you want to me to go through what I had to go through, raising Tommy and our new baby all by myself again!?"

"Kate-

"And I know you! After Kimber, its Sabini or Solomons!" he steps towards her, his hands out warily. "For God's sake, we both barely survived a war! You may be willing to go through another one here, but I'm not!" he reaches for her. "I can't believe that you're being so stupid to endanger yourself. Were you even thinking of me and Tommy!?"

Thomas pulls her into his arms, holding onto her tightly as he kisses her forehead. Kate exhales deeply. "I'm sorry Kate; I don't mean to worry you."

"Which is why, my father is sitting back home with a bleeding ear!" Thomas kisses her again. "Will you stop doing that? I'm pissed at you."

"I'm aware of that, but," he pulls away to look at her, excitement in his blue eyes. "we're having a baby?"

"Yes, I'm having a baby," she snaps as she pulls away from him. "I don't know if you're going to be there to see it."

"Kate," he assures her firmly. "I'm going to be there for you and this baby."

"Not if you don't stop running around with men like Kimber!"

"I know, this isn't what you want to hear, but I'm doing this for us." He explains. "I want more for you."

"I told you, I'm perfectly happy as we are. I love our house, I love our life and I love you." tears start to drip down her cheeks. "I can't bear to be a widow again! I can't! Don't put me through that!"

"Kate," he says firmly. "I f**king love you, you crazy woman." She glowers at him and everyone inhales at his poor choice of words. "I'm a bastard, for putting you through this, but I am going to do what's best for you and our children. I'm not in any danger. I promise. This will be all over in a month."

"I heard that before as well." she states firmly as she crosses her arms. "Two weeks, Thomas Shelby. Finish up the business and no more purposefully crossing paths with dangerous men like Kimber."

"Kate-

"If I lose this child because of stress, that'll be on your head!" Silence is in the pub. "Are we clear?"

He nods. "Yes, might need a month though."

"Two weeks." She says firmly. "Understood?"

"I'm the boss of this house."

"Yes you are." She states as he walks towards her. "But while I'm pregnant, I'm the one in charge. Understood?"

"You're really pregnant? She nods as that slightly, dopey smile appears on his face. "How far along are you?"

"Four months." She says with her hands on her hips, amused expression on her face. "You did a bang up job on our wedding!" A few people chuckle quietly.

Thomas studies her before nodding. "Right, now will you come here so I can kiss my wife?" Everyone laughs as Kate steps willingly into his arms and allows him to kiss her deeply. She moans and trembles as the blood starts pounding in her veins. There's some applause, but it's mostly wary because no one knows what might set the other off. Thomas breaks the kiss to whisper in her ear. "So, with the boss's permission, can I go home and f**k my wife?"

Kate shivers. "Oh, hell yes, Mr. Shelby."

Thomas nods. "Right." He picks up his hat. "Carry on lads, have a round on me while I make sure my wife gets back home alright."

"It's raining outside." Someone points out.

He shrugs as he wraps an arm around her shoulders. "Not a problem for us. Kate loves a good walk in the rain."

"Indeed." They step out of the Garrison, heading back home. "You know, I saw in the social pages that Grace Burgess married an Inspector Campbell."

He nods. "I know."

"Any idea why?" she inquires. "I met Campbell; he's a creepy older man."

"I suspect that your father had something to do with that, but I don't care Kate." he states firmly. "Whatever life chooses to bestow upon her, she deserves. You are my only concern and priority in my life. Nothing else matters to me. You alone, are all that matters to me. I love you, deeply."

She shakes her head and whispers. "I love you too, Thomas Shelby."

He kisses her neck as the rain continues to come softly down on them. "Let's get you on home."

"My favorite word." She leans into his waist, sighing contentedly. "Home."

"In spite of you going off like a firecracker, in there," he smirks at her. "I'm glad that you're the one I'm taking home."

"Well, imagine how 'lit up' I'm going to be once you get me back home." he chuckles. "But for now, let's enjoy this moment. I love the rain."

"It always reminds me of how deeply I love you." She smiles as he stops in the middle of the street, cupping her face in his hands to kiss her. "And I assure you, I love you very deeply."

"I love you too, even though you drive me f**king mad, Mr. Shelby." Kate closes her eyes while her mind plays a memory of another time she was with her husband in a very similar rain storm, so many years ago.

Idcam: I know, I'll be busy for a while! But after those final 3 stories, I will officially be out of ideas, until inspiration strikes again. Which works out well, because I've left my Sherlock series sitting unfinished to have fun on the Peaky Blinders fandom! And yes, he got her pregnant and then started plotting to take on Kimber. Not a good time with her pregnancy hormones.

TheHoodedAssassin: She certainly is. I know, it only took 13 chapters to get them back together again! I may have a bonus chapter later on down the road, but for now, the story ends here. So, keep eyes open for an alert.
