Chapter 20-The meeting
Billy was sitting with Raven Murphy Wells Charlotte and Harper. "So, what's our next move?" Wells asks.
"Emma has been sneaking out to see Lincoln. I'm hoping at some point she can set up a meeting between their leader and me," Billy tells them.
"You know your sister is banging the grounder right," Murphy says with a smirk. Harper and Raven slap him in the head. "Ow, we all know it's true," Murphy says.
"I know that. Thank you, Murphy, for putting that image in my head," Billy says to his friend, who nods.
"Your welcome," Murphy says.
"Who's making the bullets?" Charlotte asks.
"Athena and Monty," Raven tells her. Finn comes over and sits down by him. Billy looks at him.
"What's up, Finn?" Billy asks. Finn looks around to make sure nobody was listening.
"I set up with the grounders," Finn says. Billy looks at him.
"A meeting. I'm assuming you followed Emma and met up with Lincoln," Billy says to him. Finn nods.
"Ok, Good job Finn. Murphy, you come with us. Wells Harper Raven and Charlotte buy us as much time as possible," Billy says. They nod as everybody gets up. Billy Finn and Murphy get up and leave. Not knowing that someone was listening to them. Clarke walks over to Bellamy.
"Hey. I need to talk to you," Clarke says to Bellamy, who nods.
"Having fun yet, Princess?" Bellamy asks with a smirk.
"I'm serious," Clarke says.
"You always are, so talk," Bellamy says.
"Finn's set up a meeting with the Grounders. Finn Billy and Murphy and heading to talk to them," Clarke tells him.
"Because Billy thinks that impaling people on spears is code for "let's be friends"? Has he lost your damn mind?" Bellamy asks.
"He thinks it might be worth a shot. I mean, we do have to live with these people," Clarke says.
"They'll probably gut him, string him and Murphy up as a warning," Bellamy says.
"Well, that's why I'm here. I need you to follow them, be their backup," Clarke says to him Bellamy nods.
"Do any of them know about this?" Bellamy asks.
"They don't need to know, and Bellamy bring guns," Clarke says. Bellamy nods as he walks away.
"Stay here and watch out this could be some kind of trap," Bellamy tells Clarke, who nods. Jasper and Raven walk into Athena and Raven's work tent. Jasper looks at Athena and Monty.
"Hey, There you are! All right. Listen. We're playing drunk ball. I bet Monroe my team's gonna win the Unity Day title. That's for you. I know you Zero-G mechs have crazy hand-eye skills, so, huh? What do you think? Must be better than whatever you're doing," Jasper says to them. They smile.
"I'm checking the gunpowder in these rounds so that if the Grounders try to kill us all, maybe, we can get a few shots off beforehand," Athena says.
"That's intense. Sure, you know what you're doing?" Raven asks.
"Why does everybody keep asking me-" Athena was saying when a round blew up.
"Woah," Raven says.
"Damn!" Athena says.
"You need help now that, you know, you almost blew one off?" Raven asks.
"I got this," Athena says.
"Hey. No one's a better mechanic than you two., all right, but this stuff requires a chemist. How'd you do in chemistry class? Well, the fates are smiling upon you, my friend. I was great in chemistry," Jasper says.
Jasper smells the gun powder. "Nope. It's gassed off. Pretty sure the acidic smell means that the gunpowder's degraded," Jasper says.
"Better start a dud pile," Monty says.
"You know, when my parents get here, they can mix us up some new gunpowder. My dad's gonna flip for this scrap metal. "My kingdom for a soda can." Heh. That's what he always used to say. How about you? Got any family?" Jasper asks.
"Only you guys," Athena says. Bellamy then comes in the tent.
"Jasper, your coming with me," Bellamy says to the teen.
"I am?" Jasper asks.
"You handled yourself well in the cave with the Grounder," Bellamy says. Bellamy looks at Raven.
"I mean, I hit him in the head," Jasper says.
"If you're planning on shooting anything, you better think twice. I haven't checked those yet," Athena says.
"Give me bullets that work," Bellamy says.
"What do you need them for?" Raven asks.
"Your boyfriend is being an idiot," Bellamy says. Raven's eyes widen.
"How did you find out?" Raven asks.
"Clarke overheard you guys," Bellamy tells her.
"Bellamy, wait. Billy and Murphy can handle this," Raven says.
"I'm going. You can either come or stay," Bellamy says.
"I'll come," Raven says. Bellamy nods Raven walks out of the tent and over to Wells.
"Bellamy knows. Clarke told him. Make sure nobody else leaves," Raven tells him. Wells nods. Bellamy Jasper and Raven leave camp.
Billy Finn and Murphy were walking through the woods. "I'm glad you on our side Finn. I want peace with the grounders," Billy tells him.
"There's no point for anybody else to die," Finn says.
"I agree," Billy says.
"You do know about your sister and Lincoln, right?" Finn asks Billy, who nods.
"I've known for days. Even though she tried to hide it," Billy says. Finn laughs as they walk forwards.
The Ark
Kane looks at Ridley. "You were seen planting the bomb, Ridley. You killed six people," Kane says.
"Should have been seven. Jaha's lucky he cut his speech short," Ridley says.
"I know you're upset about what happened at Section Seventeen," Kane says.
"I lost my wife. You're damn right I'm upset, but this is about more than the culling. Workers all over the Ark are tired of getting screwed. It's our kids you sent to die on Earth, and who's on the first dropship? Not us. Over and over, Jaha and the rest of you on the Council betray our trust. Today is your reckoning," Ridley says.
"Tell me. Who helped you? I know you didn't act alone," Kane says.
"You don't know jack. You still think this is just about the Chancellor," Ridley says. One of the guards comes forward and shocks one of the other guards. Ridley kicks Kane back.
"There goes the power. That's our cue," Ridley says. Kane was still conscious. "Leave him. He's gonna die in here anyway," Ridley says.
Sinclair Jake and Jaha were walking down a hallway. "What happened?" Jaha asks.
"I'm not sure, but we've lost power to multiple stations. Farm, Hydra, Mecha. Now we can vent in breathable air, but the temperature in those stations is falling fast. People are gonna freeze to death," Jake says.
"Lift the lockdown and evacuate those stations. Where's Kane?" Jaha asks.
"He's interrogating the bomber. Sir. Power's out in Prison station," Sinclair says. Jaha looks at Kane. "Where's Abby?" Jaha asks.
"She's with Jackson I wouldn't let her in the ship," Jake says
Jaha and the guards run into the interrogation room and find Kane barely alive. "Marcus!" Jaha says.
"It's a mutiny. Diana Sydney. She's diverting power," Kane says.
"She's taking the exodus ship," Jaha says.
The Ground
Billy Murphy and Finn arrive at the meeting place. "Nice job setting this up," Billy says to his sister. Emma hugs him. Down in the trees, Jasper Raven and Bellamy look up at them.
"Someone's coming," Bellamy says.
"What's Emma doing here?" Jasper asks. Lincoln comes out of the woods, and Emma hugs him.
"I guess we know how he got away," Jasper says. They then hear horses.
"Hey. We said no weapons," Finn says to Lincoln.
"I was told there wouldn't be," Lincoln says.
"It's too late now," Billy says. Billy nods as Lincoln before he walks to the grounder women. Billy walks over to the woman as he gets off her horse.
"Your name is Billy," The woman says.
"Yes," Billy tells her.
"I'm Anya," Anya says.
"I think we got off to a rough start, but we want to find a way to live together in peace," Billy says.
"I understand. You started a war that you don't know how to end," Anya says.
"No. You speared one of my people. You started this. I want this to end," Billy says to her. Anya looks at him. "I understand that we invaded your land. You don't know where we came from the sky. We're different, something unknown. We have more people coming down. People with guns. I don't want anybody else to die. I want peace between our people. I bet you don't want anybody else to die," Billy says to the woman.
"How do you know that you people won't just attack us when they get down here?" Anya asks.
"I won't let them. I will die to make sure they don't break the terms we agree to. I just want the people I love to live," Billy says to Anya, who smiles.
"I respect you as a leader. If we can come to agreeable terms, I will bring them to the commander," Anya says. Billy smiles.
"Who's the commander?" Billy asks. Anya was about to say something when they heard a scream.
"Billy, run!" Jasper yells. They then hear a gunshot, and a grounder falls down dead. Billy looks at Anya.
"I didn't know. Please believe me. I'm sorry," Billy says before he runs. Lincoln gets hit by an arrow.
"Get her out of here," Lincoln says to Billy, who nods. He grabs Emma and leaves. Emma yelling for Lincoln as they leave.
The Ark
Jaha Jake Sinclair Red and Jake were outside the exodus ship. "Jake, can you unattach the Exdos ship from the ark?" Jaha asks
"Yeah, it should only take me 30 minutes," Jake says.
Do it," Jaha says. The other men were trying to open the door. "Diane, what the hell are you doing?" Jaha asks.
"Saving my people," Diane says.
"Diane, we have a way to get everybody down," Jaha says.
"He's lying I was Chancellor before. I know this ship better than anybody. This is the only way," Diane says. They try to get the door open for 30 minutes.
"Push this button, and they will detach from the ark," Jake says.
"And the Ark?" Kane asks.
"We will all be fine," Jake says.
"Let go of the door," Jaha says.
"So, you finally gave up?" Diane asks.
"No, I made a decision for my people. A decision you forced me to make," Jaha says. Jaha then pushes the button.
"Lanching countdown. Twenty nineteen..." A voice said.
"You're launching us?" Daine asks, and Jaha nods.
"Yes, but before you go, I want you to know we are going to be bringing everybody to the ground by taking the ark down to Earth. I wish you would have trusted me one more time," Jaha says before the ship falls.
The ground
Billy Murphy Finn and Emma meet up with Bellamy Raven and Jasper. Billy walks over to Bellamy and punches him in the face. Bellamy falls to the ground. "I was so close to making a deal to making sure nobody died. You just ruined it," Billy says to him.
"They were going to kill you," Jasper says.
"You fired the first shot. Why are you here?" Billy asks Raven.
"Clarke heard us. I came to maybe stop them," Raven says,
"Well, if we weren't at war already, we sure as hell are now. You didn't have to trust the Grounders. You just had to trust me," Billy says to them Jasper looks down. "Every death after this is on you, Jasper and Clarke," Billy says before he walks away.
"The exodus ship. Kane and Abby are early," Murphy says.
"Wait. Too fast. No parachute? Something's wrong," Billy says. The ship then cratches. Billy backs up and falls on his knees. Tears start to go down his eyes. Thinking that one of the men he saw as a father was dead. Raven hugs him as tears also go down hers and Murphy's eyes.
