It was the morning before Maura would have to leave for France. Jane was awaken by the sun streaming in through a crack in the curtains she stretched and turned to look at the beautiful woman next to her.
She reached out a lightly brushed a few strands of blonde her from the sleeping womans face. "Man I'm going to miss her so much." She thought to herself. Maura started to stir.
"Good Morning love." Maura said with a sleep filled voice.
"Morning baby." Jane said leaning in only to be stopped by a hand on her forehead.
"Uhh, whatcha doin Muar?" Jane said chuckling.
"I have morning breath, I would like to brush my teeth before you kiss me." Maura said embarrassed.
"Maura you are leaving tomorrow I don't care about your morning breath I just want to kiss you as much as I can today." She replied with a pout. She knew Maura couldn't resist it.
Maura smiled. "I guess one time wont hurt." She leaned in a place a sweet kiss to Jane's lips causing a moan to escape.
Jane lays back down flat pulling Muara into her side sighing deeply. "I'm going to miss you like crazy." She says softly bring the blonde's hand up to her mouth placing a kiss to her palm.
"I'm going to miss you too Jane." Maura says propping up on her elbow to look into the big brown orbs she loved. "We will talk every chance we can, we can Skype and text and talk on the phone until we both fall asleep like two teenagers." She says smiling.
"You promise?" Jane asked with a sadness taking over her brown eyes.
"Oh Jane of course I promise. I couldn't imagine going one day without talking to you." Maura's heart was breaking for how vulnerable Jane was being. She leans down again kissing her softly.
Jane cleared her throat trying to force away the sadness. She knew this was a great opportunity for Muara and she wanted her to experience it she deserved it. The academy was going to take atleast 6 months to complete so she atleast had that to keep herself and her mind busy while Maura was away. "Nope Rizzoli pull it together you are going to make this the best day for Maura." She said to herself before looking back at her girlfriend.
"So Brain what are we going to do today?" Jane said with a laugh and a grin.
"Brain?" Maura asked confused. Jane couldn't hold on to her laughter.
"You are suppose to say. "Same thing we do everyday Pinky plan to take over the world!" Jane says loudly lifting her fist into the air triumphantly.
Maura rolls over on top of Jane and straddles her with her face scrunched up.
"Come on Muar have you never watched Pinky and the Brain?" Jane asked placing her hands under Maura's shirt finding bare skin. Maura hums at Jane's warm touch.
"No I can't say I have." Maura replied. "But I don't want to talk about TV I actually don't want to talk at all." She says leaning down kissing the spot right below Jane's earlobe. She smiles when she hears the brunette suck in a breath as she kisses her neck and then her lips, pressing her hips into Janes.
"Mmm." Jane manages through their kiss. "Maura." Jane says pulling away a little. "If you start this we aren't going to leave the bedroom."
Maura smiles and kisses Jane again. "Would that be such a horrible thing?"
"No of course not Maur but Ma is throwing you a going away party and wants to take us out to lunch and I'm sure she will be at your door any minute just because shes Ma and knows no boundaries."
Maura huffs rolling off of Jane feeling a little more then rejected. "Jane if you don't want to have sex just say so." She says sitting up in bed, her back against the headboard.
Jane's eyes went wide. "How could she think I don't want to have sex with her? Well I can see how now but that isn't true." Jane thought to herself before speaking.
"Maura babe, look at me." Jane says getting on her knees infront of Maura. Maura averts her eyes away.
"Maur please." Jane begs feeling her heart breaking at the sight of the only woman she ever truly loved, whole heartedly feeling unwanted. "Maur." Jane says, trying one last time to get her to meet her eyes. When she finally does she smiles.
"Maura I love you and of course I want nothing more then to make love to you, passionately at that. But I want it to be perfect because that's what you deserve...I don't want it to be rushed because of a party or lunch or whatever." Jane says softly caressing Maura's cheek.
"Please don't ever feel like I don't want you Maur, because god do I want you. Do you know how hard it is for me to keep my hands off of you?" Jane ask.
Maura smiled at Jane's words. The fact that Jane used the words make love and not sex made her heart leap. She melted at Jane's words and touch. "It doesn't have to be perfect." She finally manages to say after getting her tears under control.
"But it does baby, because its you."
Maura pulls Jane in for a kiss then pulls away. "No Jane it doesn't have to be perfect...it just has to be you. Having you make love to me, us sharing something so intimate is what's makes it perfect to me. But if you want to wait I respect that and I will wait for as long as I have to."
Jane smiles at Maura's words. "I love you so damn much, I promise you wont have to wait forever...just long enough for my mother not to intrude." Jane says with a laugh.
"I love you too Jane...now let's get showered and have breakfast and see what kind of trouble we can get into today...Pinky." Maura says over her shoulder with a wink as she walks into the bathroom not being able to stifle a guttural laugh when she heard Jane from the other side of door yell.."Ha I knew you watched the show!"
Jane and Maura spent most of the day with Angela. They had lunch, did a little shopping to which Jane actually enjoyed to Maura's surprise. Maura hadn't given much thought throughout the day to the fact that she would be leaving Boston, Jane and her new found family The Rizzoli's for entire year in just 12 hours, atleast that was until they made it to her go away party. Most of the Rizzoli's she came to love were in attendance along with her father and a few close friends from BCU. It wasn't a big crowd but I was just right to her.
"Hello father, I'm glad you made it." Maura said as she give Arthur a tight hug.
"I wouldn't miss it sweetie, I have to apologize for your mother though. She wanted to be here but I think you leaving even if it is just for a year is hard for her." Arthur said placing his arm around his daughter.
"Its alright, I will call her before I leave. I know it will be easier that way." Maura replied, trying to keep her emotions in check.
The conversation was quickly interrupted when Jane grabbed Maura by the arm and pulled her into the photo booth that Frost was able to get last minute for pictures that Maura could take with her. After the photo session with Jane they waited for the print out. They both laughed at the photos for a minute before Maura spoke.
"This one is my favorite." She said pointing to last picture. It was the moment after a shared kiss, there foreheads pressed together looking so deeply into each others eyes, smiles played across their faces. That one picture was able to capture the millions of words that neither of them needed to say they loved each other far beyond the grasp of any logic, any universe.
Jane wrapped her arm's tightly around Maura. "That's my favorite to babe." Jane said taking one copy, she pulled out her wallet folded up the picture for only that one square to show and placed it in front of her license. "Now, no matter where I go you will always be with me." Jane said sweetly placing a kiss to Maura's lips.
Maura couldn't fight off her tears any longer. "Oh, Jane. I'm going to miss you so so much." She said throwing her arms around the tall brunette.
"I'm going to miss you to Maur. But I promise I will be here waiting for you when you come home." The moment was quickly interrupted by Frost.
"Damn Janie this a party you are suppose to be having fun not making this beautiful woman cry." He said with a grin put his arm around Maura.
"Way to ruin a moment jerk!" Jane spat back playfully punching Frost in the arm.
"Oh come on that's not fair I came to ask this lovely lady of urs if she would do me the honors of having a dance with me."
Maura smiled. "Of course I will come on Jane let's dance and have some fun." Jane groaned as she was dragging into the middle of the room. After a few minutes of barley moving she finally gave in and danced the remaining of the night with her girlfriend and their friends.
