The same night, Nellie sat by the fire's glow in her rocking chair. The fireplace providing any warm tidings in the large mansion. She was holding a small frame given to her by Richard, of him and Rosalie at the ripe age of sixteen. It was a simpler time. Nora stood next to Charlie, who huffed "Nora, what are we to do?"

Nora placed a hand on Charlie's shoulder "Not stay here and be stagnant. Can you go get my cloak?"

"Certainly ma'am."

Nora knelt to Nellie's side "I will go out and search for her. I'm sure I can find the waterfront with some help!"

Charlie held the hood in his hands "Oh no Madame, please don't go."

Nora grabbed her cloak, slipping it over her shoulders "I am part of this family too.. I'm going. Nothing is going to change my mind. I promised Richard I'd watch over her." She squeezed Nellies hand. Nellie nodded "I trust you.. But take a map. Charlie get her the map in the main hall, and the handgun in the top cabinet."

Charlie gasped. Nora waved her hands "Madame I'm not so sure-"

"No, you'll need it.. There are some seedy mice out there, I'd hate to lose you and Rosalie at the same time." She added bitterly. Holding Nora's hand, she smiled. Charlie handed her the small silver pistol. "Now go find her.."

Placing the hood over her head, she begun out of the door. Stopping at the doorway, she turned "I won't be back without her." The door shut. Charlie had a look of worry strewn on his face. "Do you think Basil will be upset with her leaving?"

"We need to do what we have to do."

A knock at the door. Nellie stood "Now, who could that be?"

The knock got more forceful. Charlie hesitated, then answered the door "Oh, Mr. Elijah!"

Elijah walked through. His hair slicked back finely, in a dark suit and crimson tie. Nellie raised a brow "No, we haven't found her yet."

Elijah chuckled "Oh, no.. That's not why I'm here.." he sat across from her "You see, I'm already getting her back, I just needed some assistance." Andrew appeared at his side. Nellie gasped "Who is that?"

"An associate of mine." he folded his hands "Now there is one protocol of this whole deal.. And unfortunately I wouldn't want anyone getting hurt. Not to mention getting my own hands dirty." Nellie and Charlie stood silent, the same spot across from him "You see, I want to marry Rosalie.. I'm going to marry Rosalie.. And I don't think you want that."

Nellie squinted her eyes "How can you guess?"

Elijah chuckled "I knew you were going to be the one thing to stop her from becoming my bride.. You we're the main concern when I first arrived. I knew if I couldn't get through to you, I could find a sad lovesick little woman who is grieving her father. You wouldn't let us tie the knot as one says.. But fortunately, I have a plan to get her back and get her all to myself." he strummed his fingers together. Nellie grabbed her cane "And how do you expect to do that? I have all the authority over my finances, Rosalie's inheritance, and I'm her family. And as of now, I'll never give you my blessing to marry her!"

Elijah paused, and snapped his fingers. At least five men walked into the house, only the brightness of their sharp teeth and eyes. They were snickering, mocking Charlie and Nellie's confidence in the beginning. Nellie stood "Who are these people, You all need to leave!" They continued to laugh at the two frightened mice in the center. Elijah laughed "I am in charge now.." Taking out a rope and two handkerchiefs, he handed them to Andrew "Now just don't put up a fuss Miss Nellie, I'd hate to tell Rosalie that you're TRULY hurt.."

"What do you mean TRULY hurt?" she asked, Andrew growing close to her with the items.

Elijah tilted his head "You'll find out soon."

Another knock a the door. Elijah snapped to a large guard, who looked through the window "It's Basil and the Dr."

The suave mouse quickly doused the fire with a vase of flowers. Grabbing Charlie, he moved to the door "Answer it boy!"

Charlie opened the door. Elijah quickly pressed his gun to the small of his back "Follow everything I say.. Or I blow you apart."

"Mister Basil! And Dr. DaaaAwson!" he chuckled nervously. Feeling the cold metal on his back he continued. Elijah whispered and he followed "We are no longer in need of your service!"

"What?" Basil said "What are you talking about? We have been on the search for weeks!"

Charile nodded nervously "We've gone with someone different!"

"I don't understand." Dawson added. Basil tried to step into the house, blocked by Charlie "If I could speak to Miss Nellie." Charlie quickly closed the door "Thank you!"

Basil rubbed his chin "Something is not right here..." Dawson quirked a brow, starting down the steps "He seemed busy." Basil started out the gate "I'll need to pull up that file on Lockson.. Something isn't right here indeed."

IN THE LAIR..

Rosalie hummed to herself, inside her lavish room, she combed through her long auburn hair:

"Rainbows raced around the room when he danced with me
Shooting stars began to zoom when he danced with me.."

Getting up out of her seat, she spun around her room, as if she's in the arms of someone... someone special.

In his arms I was ascending
My world became a magic blending
Of dreams and hopes and love
When he danced with me.."

Though this lovely night was only a fantasy
And I know tonight is all there will ever be
Dancing in his arms forever
My heart will never be free
Dreaming of the night he danced with me.."

In the other room, Ratigan was looking at his reflection, seeing a rose in a small vase. In a never before action, he took it and smelled it, smiling softly:

"Rainbows raced around the room when she danced with me

Shooting stars began to zoom when she danced with me

In her arms I was ascending

At last I saw that perfect blending

Of dreams and hopes and love

When she danced with me.."

He couldn't believe how he was feeling, but he embraced it and in privacy, he really enjoyed it.

"Could it be that she was only a fantasy?

Could it be tonight is all there will ever be?

Dancing in her arms forever

My heart will never be free

Dreaming of the night she danced with me.."

In a silhouetted fashion, they both laid in their beds, sighing happily at the wonderful night they shared.

The next morning, Rosalie walked into the main lair where breakfast was served. Humming the same tune to herself, even the children took notice of this and grinned happily. Victoria waved to Rosalie "Good morning Rosalie!" waving back cheerfully she stopped by their spot on the table "Good morning children!" Alex added "You're in a good mood Rosalie.. How was your night last night?" he asked, his yellow eyes glowing bright. Rosalie slightly blushed "Well.. It was.. Very nice." She shook her head out of her thoughts and picked up P.J in her arms "And how's my P.J doing this morning?" She saw the baby gurgle and reach for her necklace. She laughed at the playful tug "Okay, let's get you a bottle.. Then change you." starting to walk out, she met with Ratigan at the entrance "Oh!"

He grinned "Good morning Rosalie.."

"Good morning.. James." she said with a soft laugh "It's a little strange calling you James.."

He saw P.J looking up at him and tussled the little mouse's hair "Well, he was named after me.. Maybe I should embrace my own name sake."

Rosalie nodded. They both looked at eachother, sharing a sweet but awkward moment. She had to get past him "Excuse me, I just need to-"

"Oh of course." He moved in her direction, then awkwardly moved to the side. Rosalie giggled again "Thank you." Ratigan turned to face her, still with a silly grin on his face. His thoughts were stopped, the sound of giggling and snorting behind him. As he turned, he heard snickering and kissing noises. The thugs were playing around and nudging one another, but the joking soon ended once the golden bell was pulled out.

Rosalie was laughing with the child, changing his diaper. As soon as it was done, Rosalie pulled him up, still setting him on the changing counter that Ratigan's thugs had fashioned. Ratigan peeked in, seeing if she needed any help. Rosalie was humming to the baby, and preparing the bottle. Before she handed the bottle to P.J, the mousling whelped "Mama!"

Both Ratigan behind the door and Rosalie gasped. Rosalie dropped the bottle, hearing it crash to the floor and shatter. Rosalie cursed at herself, then suddenly hearing P.J cry. She cooed "Oh no it's okay! I'll get this all cleaned." Ratigan knocked and she quickly turned. She pleaded "Can you please hold him? I need to clean this."

"Of course.." he was a little trepidations, but held him carefully. A little more careful than he did the very first time. Rosalie huffed, then stopped picking up the glass "You heard it too didn't you?" she stayed on the floor and hands folded on her lap "I heard you behind the door when it happened... He called me.. Mama.." P.J gurgled, then hugged Ratigan's chest "It's not your fault.." Ratigan said.

She began to well up with tears "But... I shouldn't!" She stood and started to pace "What's the other ones gonna think! What about their parents!?" she groaned "Oh I am the worst!"

"For caring? For watching over them? Rosalie it isn't your fault." He continued to hold the baby, "You cared for them, more than I ever could.." He chuckled "They need it." he looked to P.J "You enjoy Miss Rosalie don't you?!" P.J wiggled and smiled wildly, reaching out to her. Rosalie bitterly smiled, and held the child "I'm not mad at you.. I could never be." she made the baby giggle, tickling his tummy. Ratigan joined in, patting the young baby's head and cooed "Mhm yes, I love you-"

There was another awkward pause, Rosalie turned and continued to pick up the mess. Ratigan placed the baby inside the crib, and starting to rock it, patting the child to sleep. He became nervous, like a schoolboy "Would you like to accompany me inside the music room this afternoon?"

"Of course." she smiled. He chuckled and Rosalie grinned "What?" she scooped the glass into the wastebasket "What's so funny?"

"It's so much easier to ask you for something."

Rosalie nodded "Yes.. I was a bit stubborn before."

They both laughed in agreement. Andrew showed up in the doorway, clearing his throat "Oh Andrew! Good morning." Ratigan said with a smile.

Andrew nodded "Morning sir, may I see you for a moment?" Ratigan raised a brow, then headed to the doorway. He suddenly stopped, walked back to Rosalie, and kissed her hand gently "I'll see you this afternoon, my dear."

Andrew rolled his eyes and motioned for his boss to follow him. Ratigan turned the corner and began to walk with his employee "And where have you been?"

"Do you really need to kiss her hand? She is a prisoner after all.." Andrew suggested. Ratigan ignored the comment and continued "I haven't heard anything about that sniveling detective, seems we're in the clear."

"Is the girl being returned home then?"

"What is the rush Andrew?" The professor added, starting to become defensive. Andrew retorted "Because she is not a pet.. She's an heiress. What makes you think she'd stay on her own accord?" Ratigan chose to be patient and ignored this mouse's sentiment "Thank you Andrew, have the library set up for this afternoon." Ratigan begun to walk ahead. Andrew's voice raised "Sir, if you don't' do something, I will.."

"Interesting threat Andrew.." Ratigan stopped, his back facing the boy "If you do, know that you're life will have a very short span."

"That's the first time you've threatened anyone in weeks."

Ratigan continued to walk away. Andrew shook his head "Well.. I can't say I didn't try." he begun to walk off in the darkness.

Later in the music room, Rosalie and Ratigan sat together. The children peeking in through the door, including Bill and Fidget behind them. They were giggling. Fidget adding "Are they still in there?" he was chomping on popcorn, entertained fully "Anyone want some?" Alex grabbed a handful and stuffed it quickly into his mouth "It's getting good! They've been in there all afternoon!"

VIctoria hushed him "SHh! They're on the last chapter!"

Rosalie turned the page softly, Ratigan leaning in and looking at her, watching her read. It was a sweet sincere moment, the both of them sitting at the piano bench. The book was "Romeo and Juliet" and they were on the last page.

Rosalie read, the words softly pouring out of her heart and soul "For never was there a story of more woe, than this of Juliet, and her Romeo..." closing the small blue book, they both sighed. Ratigan sighed, and grinned "I'm not accustomed to reading the romances out loud, but I must say it was quite beautiful."

The girl pulled a piece of hair out of her face "It was wonderful." closing the book, she placed it on her lap "I'd like to ask you for something.."

The group behind the door gasped, and Ratigan's face changed. His brow raised, fearing the worst "What's that?"

"A second chance?" She looked into his eyes, full of warmth "Would you have dinner with me tonight?"

The group behind the door cheered silently, Ratigan even seemed very relieved "Dinner? Me with you?" he saw her nod and he cheered "Oh yes!"

Rosalie touched his hand "Just one request.. Don't get me any more dresses." she chuckled "I'm sure I have something in my giant closet you gave me.." The both of them laughed together, a melody of sounds. Victoria clasped her hands together "This is wonderful! He's gonna tell her tonight!"

Alex hushed her "Maybe.. Boys! We got work to do!"
