okay, here's the chapter!

"I can't believe that happened." Firefall exclaimed. "Froststar, losing to a challenge in his OWN CLAN? I mean, I know one of the warriors told us, but I didn't really believe it then. But coming from Froststar himself, it was a lot more real, and… kind of funny, honestly."

"I mean, if it keeps him from moving the border, well, I'll take it." Redshadow shrugged. "Yeah." Firefall padded down the slight hill toward camp, making a beeline for her nest.

I'm tired… jeez. I'm glad I sorted everything out with Featherstride though, it makes sense. She's so nice, I like her viewpoint of the Clans. It would be interesting to be in Gladeclan… to not be in conflict with Iceclan all the time. I also kind of like her… wait, WHAT? (Don't deny it honey you do)

"Are you coming? Or are you just going to sit out there all night?" Shredstalk teased, brushing past her to the den.

"Coming, coming." Firefall stood up.

"You and that Gladeclan cat seem to get along well." He remarked. "Who is she?"

"She's just a friend." Firefall tried to not let the nervousness creep into her voice. Shredstalk was a great friend, but she didn't know what he would think if he found out that she had feelings (small feelings) for a cat from a different Clan.

It just might be better to keep it a secret for now.

"Well, I can tell someone who might… like you." Shredstalk lowered his voice and flicked his tail toward Redshadow, who awkwardly looked away when he and Firefall exchanged glances. "Not just as a friend."

"No." Firefall responded immediately. "He's literally just a friend. There's no way he… " her voice trailed off.

Well… does he like me? It kinda feels like he's been acting differently around me opposed to other cats. It can't be. I must be imagining things.

"Are you sure he's just a friend?" Shredstalk teased.

"Shut up." Firefall snapped. "I.. don't really like him as anything but a friend."

"Oof." Shredstalk laughed. "Well, that sucks for him."

He turned and padded into the den, Firefall behind him, shooting a last confused glance at Redshadow.

What the heck? Well, this makes things a little more complicated, doesn't it.

As she curled up in her nest, she ran everything over in her head. I kinda… like Featherstride. I don't know. I don't know if she likes me back either. Redshadow likes me, I don't like him, and part of the reason I don't like him is because I like Featherstride. ARGHHH. How did things turn out to be so complicated so fast?! What am I going to do? It would kinda suck if I just friendzoned Redshadow, because I don't know how he would react, and I would feel bad. I mean, I feel bad right now. But if Featherstride doesn't end up liking me back, then… um. I don't really want to think about that right now.

Firefall tried to fall asleep, but her mind was still racing. How did I get myself into this?!

She woke up the next morning. Ugh.. I'm so tired… I really should've gotten more sleep last night.

Suddenly Shredstalk poked her. "Get up!"

"Go away." Firefall turned over in her nest. Shredstalk poked her again.

"I'm going to do this until you get up." He kept poking her.

"I hate you so much." Firefall grumbled and staggered to her paws.

"Well, that seemed to work well." Shredstalk commented as they went into the busy clearing of camp.

"Just you wait, you'll find yourself in my position soon." Firefall teased. "But I'll use my claws, unlike you."

"Rude." Shredstalk headed toward the apprentices' den to get Owlpaw, who never ended up getting up in time.

Sucks for him.

"Do you want to go hunting?" She turned to see her brother Timbersnap standing behind her.

"Sure!" She replied, heading out of camp with him.

Though Timbersnap and her were siblings, it never seemed like they got to talk at all. Firefall wished that she would see him more, but they were both busy, and so, that was just kind of the way things went. When they reached the reef, Firefall splashed into the reef, Timbersnap behind her.

Jeez. It's especially windy today.

"There's already another patrol down there, we can help them." Firefall called to Timbersnap, who nodded and dove.

The water swirled around her as she dove, and Firefall was amazed by how calm it was down here compared to the surface. Underwater is also so pretty… the other Clans don't get to hunt like this! I almost feel bad for them!

After hunting, Firefall dragged a large trout back to the surface.

"Jeez!" Timbersnap exclaimed. "That thing is almost as big as you are!"

"I know." Firefall mumbled, dragging it with her toward camp.

"Thanks for helping, by the way!" She turned to see Gingerfall call before diving back in.

Gingerfall is a good hunter, even if she's still a queen currently. Firefall was impressed to see what they had gathered already.

When they reached camp, Firefall took the fish to the medicine cat den, where Rushfern was sorting herbs.

"Here." She dropped part of the fish. "Thought you might need some food, as Daisypaw says that you sometimes forget to get prey."

"Well, sometimes." Rushfern bit into the fish hungrily. Firefall went to her den, hoping she could get some more rest. She settled in her nest, and went to sleep.

I'll just doze for a little bit.

Alright Firefall is having a mental crisis. Also, Featherfire is basically confirmed by now... tell me what you thought! Don't blame Redshadow, though, he's my oblivious bean. Stay safe!

Have a good day (or night) and keep writing!
