Recovery: The Silent Enemy
Chapter 21st
EMT'S and two fire men helped to get Loreile from her side of the truck without causing any further trauma with pulling off the truck's door. She was beginning to come around seeing the EMT'S telling her to stay calm while they checked for any wounds and most of all her vitals.
The older technician Gary Wilson begin to take her blood pressure having to be 110 over 65, while her heart rate was 92. They were able to place her on the stretcher without a hitch. She turned to see the two fire men slowly pull out her husband being very careful with the glass chard still embedded in his stomach. Though the good news was the fact that the bleeding had stopped.
Technician Gary Wilson says the following to Loreile being placed into the ambulance. "Mrs. Gibbs, we are taking you to the hospital. Your primary care Doctor Taft and others will be waiting in the emergency room to fully check you over."
"What about my husband?" She was gravely concern for him with the fire men with another EMT placing him on the stretcher carefully strapping him down into another ambulance to be rushed into surgery to remove the glass chard and to repair the damage.
"He's going to be going into surgery right away. Don't worry the doctors at the hospital are wonderful and skilled at their jobs." Wilson says with pride in his voice since his father Doctor Robert Wilson is a cardiac specialist working with Doctor Cyril Taft.
The police on the scene were taking statements from the three witnesses having seen the shooting before the grey truck rammed into another car. Sergeant Basile aged 42 needed to get every detail for his report. He was speaking to a young woman name Jane Hanson a writer told Sergeant Basile that she had noticed the Black SUV before two men had the windows opened to use their rifles.
"Were you able to see their faces while they shot the tires of the truck?" He asked anxiously with his writing pad in his hand.
"Yes, I can sergeant. I will be happy to have a sketch artist at the station to help me. My friend Stacy talking to your partner was able as well to see their faces." Deborah Rafferty said strongly and upset that the driver was hurt badly.
"Good, I will be sure to let my supervisor know the both of you are coming in. Since the man in the truck works for NCIS. His director will be informed."
"Happy to help in any way sergeant. I will let Stacy know that we will be going to the police station once she is done talking." Deborah responded.

Two ambulances arrived at the hospital emergency room entrance. Doctor Cyril Taft and Doctor Robert Wilson were waiting for their patients being brought in by the technicians.
Doctor Taft began to orders to the staff to have them take Loreile to x-ray, MRI and cat scan to check to see the unborn baby was alright among other issues.
Meanwhile Doctor Taft didn't like the way Jethro Gibbs was looking with his color along with his blood pressure started to drop. "STAT! We need to get him into surgery now." He issued the order as the main nurse called upstairs to standby in operating room number one.
Both of the doctors will be working on Gibbs to remove the glass chard and including a blood transfusion to replace the blood he has lost.
The next few hours was going to be important to the life of agent Gibbs. Their was a flurry of activity inside the operating room as Doctors Wilson and Taft have been working hard having removed the glass chard without causing any further damage to his body.
The nurse Elle Davis standing next to Doctor Taft handed him the instruments that was needed to pull out the last of the glass just below his chest. Gibbs already had a scar from when Doctor Cyril Taft had cracked open his chest cavity to remove the bullet fragments. He remembered that incident really well. As he was talking his mouth off to the staff watching him and Doctor Wilson work.
Their were chuckles coming from the nurse and even Doctor Wilson have always like Cyril and his stories for when it comes to Special Agent Gibbs.
"Doctor the patient's blood pressure is beginning to rise as with his heart rate." The nurse replied with watching the screen from above.
"Good news everyone. Special Agent Gibbs certainly does has nine lives once again." Doctor Taft quipped towards his friend on the operating room table with his odds doing much better.
It would be another hour before they were able to finish up and let everyone know that Gibbs will be moved to ICU.

NAVAL YARDS
Director Leon Vance received the call through his office telling him that Special Agent Jethro Gibbs and his wife were involved in a car crash with two shooters taking out the grey truck's tires.
Vance, McGee, Bishop and Torres were in the waiting room for any word on Gibbs and Loreile still doing tests...
Doctor's Taft and Wilson after cleaning up. They both came to the waiting room to give the news to Gibbs and Loreile's friends. Walking inside it was Director Leon Vance noticing them first. "Doctor's how are they?" Sounding frantic to their ears.
"Take it easy director. Loreile is going to be find with a days of rest before we send her home. She was very lucky she didn't lose the unborn child." Doctor Cyril Taft said to his friends.
"As for Special Agent Gibbs, we were able to remove all of the glass chard. However he's still not out of the woods. We need to be sure that his blood count goes back up to normal placing him in ICU on the critical but stable condition." Doctor Wilson relayed the information in front of group."
"When will we be able to visit Agent Gibbs?" Timothy McGee asked nervously.
"All of you will be able to visit him within the hour. However it's going to be two at a time seeing our patient. He's one lucky man that he wasn't killed in the crash." Doctor Taft would say with a deep breath with his lungs.
