Silya stood at the edge of the cliff next to her house and stared. It was a beautiful sunset like always. Of course, she wouldn't see any stars, the air pollution was too big. She remembered when she was five and her friends were playing on the edge. They had been running around when a shadow had covered the sun and there was a gasp. It was an eclipse and no one had seen one in almost a thousand years. It was too bright for them, but not for Silya, she stared at it for such a long time. But then, it was over. The Sun was gone by then and her friends went home, Silya still remembered when she was at school the next day and her friends called her Stargirl for not turning away from the eclipse.
She walked back inside and saw her grandma and grandpa talking in the living room.
"What did the Chancellor say?" her grandpa asked.
Her grandma shook her head, "Something about raising a fund for new armor."
"For who?" gramps asked.
Silya listened closely.
"The clones, he wants to... do something with them," she replied.
Then Silya walked in and they were quiet, her mom saw her and said to her grandparents, "Thank you so much for coming, we'll see you soon."
Her grandparents put on weird capes and left. Silya watched and looked at her mom, "Hi."
Her mom pulled her into a hug and said, "I've missed you."
Silya nodded, "Me too." Kind of, she didn't add.
She pulled away, "I think it's time I applied for a college."
She went to her room and went on the net. At the moment, there was a broadcast from the chancellor. She could see different words popping up around the video. Comments.
One was: You always say that the Jedi are doing everything they can, what about what YOU are doing!
Someone else said: You don't care for us!
Silya didn't type in anything, but she kept watching. She bet that he wouldn't read it. More inappropriate comments popped up. Silya read them but also watched the broadcast.
The escapee, Ahsoka Tano-
Silya froze all the way and remembered when Ahsoka pulled her into the alley.
She ran to her holo computer and typed in codes. She kept hacking until she found Coruscant's grid coordinates.
She typed it into her computer with a random section.
She pressed a button and she could see someone. She'd hacked into the security system. Well, a tiny part of it anyway. But, she then saw her friend. Running with a woman in a mask, Silya stared with more shock than ever before. What the hell was her friend doing there?
She closed her computer and sighed. The stupid world was being stupid some more. She walked outside her door and tripped on the rug. She let out a yelp and when she was on the ground, she saw someone's feet. She looked up and stared into the eyes of her friend.
"Hey there," she said.
Silya stood up quickly and stared at her. The name was Sparkes Ollie. They called her Sparkes for one reason, because she was a talented engineer, better even then the mechanic who repaired ships. She patted Silya on the shoulder, "Guess what college I'm going to?" she asked.
Silya knew, "That Coruscant one, I was just there."
Sparkes shrugged and walked with Silya outside, "Which one are you going to?" she asked.
Silya shrugged, "Unfortunately, I won't be going to yours, I don't like the clones, and-".
Sparkes gasped, "You fought with them though!".
There was silence, "How did you know?".
"Where else did you go?" Sparkes replied, "We all knew you landed on Coruscant."
Silay nodded, "The clones were idiots, avoid them for my sake."
Sparkes shook her head, "Nah, there supposed to be lined up all over the perimeter."
"Damn it."
"I know right?".
More silence.
Silya was glad someone had remembered her. She had many friends, sure, but Sparkes was there for her since they were young. They had met when Silya's parents needed repairs for her father's speeder. Sparkes came with her parents and they'd been friends ever since. They actually had a little laugh when Silya told her that she broke the speeder on accident.
"Wanna come over?" Sparkes asked, "I hacked into my school's security system."
Silya had a grin on her face, "That's my Sparkes."
They entered the computer and looked through Sparkes files.
"I put the code in one of these files," she said, "Ah, -she pointed to the files that read: Silya Alamak- here it is."
Silya stared, "Um... Why is my name there?".
Sparkes smiled, "Cause I wanted to visit you first when I got there!".
"Oh," Silya said, "You wouldn't be allowed to I don't think."
More silence, then it was hacked and Silya was staring in shock, "Sparkes you just hacked into the full security system, how-".
Her friend made an explosion sound, "Magic!". Silya smiled and looked in, she examined each piece of footage. Then she remembered what sector her friend was. She turned serious and kept going through the footage and stopped in front of an abandoned warehouse.
"My friend might be here, I saw her somewhere close."
Sparkes shrugged and typed more things in then stopped at a light fest, "That her?".
Silya looked and stared frozen in shock, it was her friend, she had her green lightsabers and was fighting against what seemed like the same women in the mask.
"Silya..." Sparkes gaped, "Is that what you did on Coruscant?".
Silya shook her head, "N-no..".
Then Ahsoka was kicked into the ground and Silya and Sparkes gasped.
"Oh!" Silya exclaimed, "Go to a lower level!". Sparkes obeyed and they both saw Ahsoka struggling to get up. Then a clone walked in and Ahsoka was finally up. She was raising her hands up and she obviously didn't have her lightsabers. Then she was shot and the clone turned around.
"That's a clone?" Sparkes asked.
Silya didn't grin but coughed up a joke anyways, "Ugly isn't it?".
Sparkes turned off the computer and she sighed, "This sucks, I didn't know there was a war until a few years ago."
"Glad to know I wasn't the only one," Silya said.
"Well I'm leaving tomorrow and I need you to come with me."
"Excuse me."
Sparkes laughed like a machine, "Yeah, you know the place."
Silya let out a cough, "But I never said I liked it."
Sparkes took her hand, "Please, please, please, I need alumni!".
"I'm not an alumnus."
"Please!".
"Sparkes-".
"Please!".
"Dude-".
"Please!".
"Fine!" Silya finally exclaimed.
Sparkes jumped up and started dancing.
"Stop," Silya sighed, "I'll only let you explore the safe places and the places where you can go in the underworld but I'd beg you not to even go down there."
Sparkes smiled widely, "So deal?".
"Deal."
The next day, Silya walked out in her best clothing, her mom kept hugging her like she was never going to come back. Her father nodded to Silya and shook her hand awkwardly. Sparkes went up to her. She wasn't wearing something Silya would ever wear on her first day at school. So she had to drag the girl back and make her change into better clothes.
When they finally boarded the ship, Sparkes was so excited. Silya spotted another friend from school and they talked for a while. It took at least five days for the ship to land in Coruscant after four days without the hyperdrive disabled.
Silya and Sparkes got off and their classmates stared at the whole new world around them as if it was the most magnificent thing. Sparkes's eyes sparkled and finally, a trooper walked up to them to check their IDs. Silya recognized him as Neyo and waved. He waved back and let her pass with Sparkes without checking her ID. Sparkes looked back at him.
"Avoid him?" she asked.
Silya shook her head, "I actually thought he was my brother for a while."
Sparkes laughed, "Alright."
They moved on to the amazing building of the University of Coruscant. Silya bought an ice pop from a shop and Sparkes was looking like she needed to do a number one. So they went to the College after Silya gave her one and it made Sparkes look like a machine with fire actually flying out.
Silya led her to her dorm and sat on a bed, "Dang it, I'll miss you, friend."
Sparkes laughed, "Haha, don't, the clone frickin' let you pass!".
"Maybe," Silya said. They explored the college and Sparkes begged her to apply after they passed a robotics lab, library the size of a carrier ship, an observatory, and even several different friends. Silya turned every beg down sadly. She wanted to, but she wanted to be away from the Jedi and most of the clones. They finally finished exploring the college and they went outside and Silya explained which clones to avoid and which not to.
"Avoid the orange clones and the blue ones too."
"Why?" Sparkes asked.
"They're not fun," she replied.
"Okay... Which ones do I talk to?" Sparkes asked.
"The ones with the weird sign on their shoulder."
"I get it, the one you saw," Sparkes said, "Now show me a good place to go to."
Silya told her about a bar with clones that she should stay away from and a clothing store. She had good intel after getting that job with the speeder bike. She also told Sparkes about the diner and a restaurant that didn't grab supplies from the black market.
By the end of the day, Sparkes was tired and she said goodbye to Silya. So Silya boarded a ship that would leave back for Kuat. She ordered a bedroom and jumped on the bed. She went onto her computer and used Sparkes's code to hack into the Coruscant security system. She was probably just worried about her friend so much that she wanted to see if she was okay. Virtually.
She turned it off knowing she was overreacting and turned it off. She was on the verge of sleep when the ship lurched and everything seemed to wake up.
Hi Thanks for reading!
If I get spelling wrong, haha, I, um usually write this in the morning and do my work later. But that'll change when the virus is over. And if something sounds wrong then you can blame Grammarly for that.
But thank you for reading and the comments you've given.
Stay safe, and goodbye.
