Luz sat on top of her coffin with a small note pad. Her cloak laying on the floor, her hoodie practically useless with the large hole and blood on it. She looked at the glyph she made and smiled a little. A light glyph, the first bit of magic she learned, the spell she's named after. She tapped it and watched as the paper folded into a ball of light. She held it in her hands for a few seconds until she felt something. She felt burning and her hands were smoking. She quickly smacked the light and it disappeared. She looked at her slightly red hands. She watched them heal as she started crying. Her first spell, the spell she cares about the most, hurts her. Why? Normal house lights only cause discomfort, is it because it's magic? Her crying was stopped when she heard a knock coming from inside the coffin. She got off and opened the coffin. Inside was a witch with green hair who had her arms crossed over her chest.

"Amity, what are you doing?"

"'Waiting for my girlfriend to get in so I can cuddle with her to make her pain go away."

Luz smiled and got in with her. They cuddled for a while before eventually falling asleep. Downstairs, Eda and Lilith were looking for anything about cures and the New Moon.

"We could put her in the coffin with a seal that only we could break." Lilith suggested.

"I feel like that's the only option."

"Edalyn, are you alright?"

"No, I'm not. That damn Leech hurt my daughter. I will drive a stake through his heart."

"Daughter?"

"She's the closest thing I'll have to one. As far as I'm concerned, she's my kid." Eda said before looking away and speaking with sadness, "I'll gladly be cursed multiple times over to keep her safe."

"I understand how you feel. I feel the same way about Amity."

"Look at us, Lily. We managed to become mother's to children that aren't ours."

"Imagine what mother would think... I'm sorry, is it too soon?"

"Lily, it's been almost 23 years. I just... you haven't mentioned her since the accident."

"I'm hoping we can prevent anything like what happened to them." Lilith said before the memories flooded in, "So much blood."

"The anniversary of their death is this weekend, right? Kind of ironic if you think about it, the day Luz experiences her first New Moon will be the day they experienced their last. Then we jumped head first into the deep end."

"Yeah, that was a mistake. A 21 and 23 year old trying to hunt him down? It was a miracle we didn't die." Lilith looked at her sister's state, "Edalyn, go get rest, you look like you need it."

"I-I'm fine."

"Edalyn, please. You need to rest as much as possible, Luz is going to need you."

"Okay, fine. I'll go to bed. Don't stay up too late."
