Author's Note: I originally wasn't going to write a chapter like this, but seeing how I've gotten ahead of myself, I've decided to write this chapter as backstory for the Brando family. As a side note, Junko and Mukuro are not DIO's children. In fact, JoJo characters do not exist in this dimension. This was originally a pure Danganronpa universe affected by the influence of 'outside disturbances'.
As another side note: I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but the appearance of blue portals are mentioned throughout all my fanfictions. This is not a coincidence.
Enjoy!
The mercenary woke up from her deep slumber, waking up to hear the morning announcement of the sadistic Monokuma. It has been around 1 week since the enemy stand attack, and no killings have been happening so far.
As the soldier prepares to put on a wig in silence, she could only think of her past life involved with her family...
Somewhere in Japan, around 14 years ago...
A small, red-headed girl peeked into the kitchen from the entrance, seeing the terrible scene unfolding before her.
"I said get me more booze, woman!", screamed the red-head's father, throwing an empty bottle of beer towards his wife. Being hit directly by the bottle, the woman was thrown into the floor, her forehead bleeding thoroughly.
"You know drinking like this is a bad image for the kids!", responded his wife, struggling to stand up.
"I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE KIDS!", screamed out the father, beating his wife into oblivion with a broken table leg. "THEY'RE BOTH USELESS PIECES OF SHIT!"
Another small girl approached the red-head and grabbed her wrist from behind, saying, "Let's go, Junko"
"Huh?"
Their father, barely hearing the girls, screamed out drunkenly, "DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE, BOTH OF YOU ARE NEXT!"
Almost as if ignoring him, both girls left the house in a hurry, leaving the drunk father in a fit of rage.
"COME BACK HERE!"
"Stop, you know they'll come back!", screamed out his wife in desperation. His husband stomped her hand in response, earning a scream from her.
"I KNOW THAT!", he screamed out. He then calmed himself down, saying, "I regret marrying a gold digger like you, dragging me down into a financial oblivion thanks to your slutty-ass". He then left to his room, saying, "You better get me some drink if you don't want our kids to suffer."
"...I'll get you your beer."
Her wife then ran away with tears welling up in her sulken eyes, closing the door with a loud thud.
Her husband only stared at the door with a frown and a closed fist.
"...You better..."
At a nearby park...
Both small girls were sitting down a bench, staring at the falling sunset and the darkening sky.
"Don't worry, little sis, we'll get through this...", said the little black-head, trying to comfort her little red-head sister. In response, the little girl looked like she was crying.
"It'll get better eventually-"
"What do you mean it'll get better? This is the most despairing thing our father has done yet!", laughed the red-head with tears falling down her face.
"Junko, d-don't be like this..."
"Did you see the rage father had in his idiotic face? It was so despairing!"
"J-junko..."
Her little sister only continued crying, their situation only getting worse.
A group of kids stopped by, laughing at the red-head.
"Look, look! Junko is crying again!"
"What a crybaby!"
The red-head's older sister gave death glares to the little kids, scaring them away in panic.
Her little sister then began wailing, feeling worse at their insults.
"Don't let them get to you, little sis. Stay strong..."
"What's the point of being alive? What's the point of enduring all this pain?"
"Junko, calm down-"
"Is it because of despair?"
"Huh?"
"Is the meaning of life to just be in constant despair?"
The older sister began noticing spirals in her little sister's eyes for a moment, going back to normal in an instant.
"Junko, stop being like this. Life is not about despair."
"THEN WHY IS LIFE SO BORING?"
"What?"
Her little sister was grabbing the black-headed girl with her hands, bringing their heads closer.
"WHY IS LIFE ONLY BRINGING DESPAIR TO US?"
"J-junko..."
Her little sister then let go of her shoulders, her tears still falling down.
"Despair is the only thing bringing me happiness, sister... It's the only thing I want to experience..."
She chuckled with spirals in her eyes, the tears still rolling down.
Her older sister tried bringing her back to reality.
"Calm yourself down, Junko. Despair is only destroying your life. Remain strong for me, okay?"
"Despair..."
"Junko", the older sister said, looking at the red-head with a death glare. "Calm down already"
"..."
"..."
"...Alright sis. I'm feeling better now", the red head said with a series of sniffles.
"I'll get better, just you see sis...", conformed her older sister, hugging her in an attempt to calm her down.
It only got worse from there. The insanity breaking down the Brando family only got worse and worse, driving the little girls further into bottomless despair. The older sister lost more and more control over her red-headed little sister, and not even she could save her from the despair-inducing feeling of happiness the little sister was feeling. It all worsened when their father drove their mother into suicide, leaving both girls to themselves.
Both girls were now walking across a sidewalk along a rain storm, soaking them with seemingly infinite emptiness.
The older sister tried reaching for her little sister's arm, saying, "Look, don't be discouraged-"
"Don't touch me, idiot", said the red-head, smiling with a wide grin. Slapping the older sister hand away, she continued, "Curse father for leaving us like this, driving us into a bottomless pit of despair."
"Junko..."
"Despair upon despair... it's the only thing giving me happiness in this boring, rotten world."
"S-stop already, sis..."
"Look at everyone else", said the younger sister, looking at the multiple cars speeding along the road. "They're all in a state of bliss, oblivious to the suffering we've gone through... It isn't fair..."
"Junko, calm down-"
"I'm gonna do what father did to us", said the younger sister with a void of emptiness in her eyes. "And you won't stop me, sis."
"Junko..."
"I'm going to drive the entire world into despair."
Present day...
Mukuro could only leave the dorm in silence, stopping to hear Monokuma's sudden announcement.
"Everyone, head to the gymnasium ASAP! We have important business to get into!"
Much to the surprise of everyone else waking up, Monokuma had another motive in store. So, despite not wanting to, everyone headed to the gymnasium at once.
"What do you think Monokuma's planning this time, bro?", asked Taka, turning to Mondo, who was stretching with a yawn.
"Whatever it is, we won't fall into despair like that piece of shit wants us to", responded the bike rider.
While at first wanting to reprimand him for curing, Ishimaru agreed with a closed fist, "You're right, bro! We'll get through this!"
Both individuals then gave a fist bump, improving the depressing mood a little.
"Let's head to the gym at once. Monokuma does not like tardiness", remarked Kyoko with an unreadable expression, already leaving the dorm hallway. The rest of the class followed close by.
Out of the corner of her eye, Mukuro saw Celestia closing the door to her room, calming down her panicked stand.
"Just calm down already. You know I don't plan killing anyone anytime soon."
"Mimi..."
Mukuro looked at the gambler, not saying anything at all. She could just barely notice the small smudges of makeup the gothic-lolita teen had.
Guess Monokuma woke her up earlier than expected...
Turning away from the gambler, Mukuro headed to the gym as well, only thinking a single thought.
I don't know what you're planning, Junko, and I never will. But after everything you've said and done so far, I have decided what to do now.
The soldier looked up to her stand, who nodded silently in approval with his arms crossed.
I'll make sure you'll feel despair, just like you've always wanted...
Second Author's Note: Chapter 21 done! Yeah, I already mentioned earlier that I wrote this chapter to clear up a misconception about the Brando family in this story. A thing I've overlooked until now is the fact that the readers don't know the full story yet like I do, so I have to keep that in mind when writing fanfiction! Thanks everyone for the support so far, I appreciate everyone's contribution! Until the next chapter, I'll see everyone later!
