Dr Rizzuto smiled as he opened his door and saw Walter and Paige sitting in his waiting room. "Kids, it is so good to see you, get in here and grab some couch."
Walter and Paige smiled as they got up and walked in and sat down.
"Ms. Dineen I got to say you look radiant." Dr Rizzuto said as he sat down.
Paige smiled. "Thank you Dr Rizzuto, Paige is fine."
Dr Rizzuto nodded, "Well judging from your impending event and the shiny ring on your finger you've come for some premarital counseling?"
Paige and Walter looked at each other and smiled, "Well we might need a bit more than that." Walter told him as they held hands.
Dr Rizzuto nodded. "Well, why don't you start at the beginning. What brought you to me?"
"Well it started almost seven months ago with me breaking up with Walter and then finding out Walter had committed suicide. Then I had to release his organs to be harvested to be used in transplants. Then the funeral and cremation of his body, only to learn almost six months later that Walter had been kidnapped after a clone of his body had been made. And it was the clone that was staged as a suicide. Then we rescued him." Paige told Dr Rizzuto.
Dr Rizzuto shook his head, "Okay, hold on. Let's take this from the start again but let's not condense it so much."
Florence fled the Garage, running down the sidewalk towards her lab. Her hand pressed to her lips as tears ran down her cheeks.
Sylvester had jumped up from his desk and moved as quickly as he could as Walter lashed out at Florence during their moderated meeting. Toby had done his best to prepare her for what could come out during their session and she had thought she was prepared but she failed to realize how fragile she really was from the fallout.
Toby had jumped up to try and stop her but she had deftly dodged around him and out the door leaving him standing there blinking.
Walter was slowly coming back from the outburst, and he was trying to process what he heard himself say and the emotions he was having.
"Couldn't you have been a little gentler with her Walter? That was cruel." Sylvester said with anger.
Paige looked over, "Sylvester. Don't you dare blame Walter. You know good and well Walter has no control over the outbursts. He even made me and you cry a few times with them. Toby did what he could to prepare her and she thought she was ready."
Sylvester looked over at her still angry.
Happy looked up, "He made me tear up a few times with what he said. I even told her that when Toby was counseling her. The truth is, if she didn't feel guilty for what happened then what he just said shouldn't have bothered her. And if she was feeling guilty she should have worked with Toby more before agreeing to sit down with Walter."
Sylvester glared at Happy for a moment. "Fine, I'll go talk to her."
Toby held out his hand, "No, I'll go. Obviously there is more going on with our chemist than she admitted and it will take more than some attention from you to help."
Toby looked to Walter, "Are you okay? Do we need to talk some more before I go check on Florence?"
Walter shook his head, "I think I'm okay. I'm still trying to process what I said as you showed me."
Toby nodded and turned and left the Garage.
Sylvester glared at Walter one more time and then huffed as he turned and walked back to his desk.
Walter sat there for some time as he finished the exercises Toby gave him. He finally stood and walked over to Paige. "I'm grabbing some coffee, do you want anything?"
Paige smiled as she shook her head.
Paige began inviting a few friends over on the weekends about a month after they started seeing Dr Rizzuto. He was very impressed with where Walter was now and started suggesting that they intermingle with some of her friends to help draw out his emotional side more.
Her friends had been reluctant at first remembering Walter's abrasive personality. But since they hadn't seen Paige in quite some time they agreed. It took some doing to get over the shock of Paige being over six months pregnant. Even harder was dealing with the shock of Walter's new personality. They found his attention to normal things to be acceptable. He even had a few suggestions for her singer friend that actually were good.
The Garage door opened and the postman stepped inside and waved at everyone as he walked over to Paige's desk. "Morning Paige, I got a registered letter for you. Just need you to sign here."
Paige smiled, "Morning Bill." Paige signed the tablet he held out to her.
Bill smiled and handed her the letter along with the rest of their mail. "Thanks Paige, see you guys next week."
Paige set the bulk of the mail to the side and looked at the letter and saw it was from Imperial Underwriters and she swallowed as her nerves picked up. She opened the letter and pulled the single page out then unfolded it.
"Ms Dineen, pursuant to the investigation led by Kyle Ferguson, Imperial Underwriters is hereby dropping any actions against you in regards to possible fraud in collecting death benefits of Walter O'Brien. Mr. Ferguson made it clear that you and Mr. O'Brien were victims of extraordinary deceit and actions perpetrated by a Mark Collins whom Homeland Security has confirmed his actions and deceit. While we won't be pursuing repayment of the policy, Mr. O'Brien will not be able to obtain life insurance in the future. We wish you and Mr. O'Brien well. Sincerely, Edna Bischoff, VP Imperial Underwriters."
Paige let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you Lord."
Walter looked up from his desk, "Good news?"
Paige smiled, "Good and bad."
Walter frowned.
Paige laughed, "We've been cleared of any wrong doing in the eyes of the insurance company. They won't try to make me repay the money. But you won't be able to get life insurance in the future."
Walter smiled, "Well I guess that means I have to live forever then."
Paige grinned.
With all the programming jobs Scorpion was getting it took until January for Toby to help Walter and Florence come to grips with everything.
Paige opened the mail the day after Toby declared the issue resolved and found an invoice from him to Scorpion. Paige sat and stared at the invoice for a moment and then looked up at Toby on his couch. She tried to say his name and it came out broken and she cleared her throat, "Toby, a moment of your time."
Toby looked up and nodded before he stood and walked over. "What's up pop-n-fresh?"
Paige rolled her eyes, "Surely you aren't serious with this."
Toby pulled it over and looked at it and did some calculations. "Nope, looks right to me."
Paige gave him a withering look. Paige finally nodded, "Fine." She grabbed a piece of paper and began writing and then she turned it around and gave it to him.
Toby read the paper and frowned. She'd listed all the hours he was paid as part of Scorpion but hadn't performed any function and then she deducted what he'd listed as his bill total and showed he owed almost five grand for being overpaid. "You can't be serious?"
Paige smiled, "Of course I can. You've been paid all this time by Scorpion without having done anything. And yet you want to try and bill us for the work you've done helping Walter and the rest of us through this ordeal? That's pretty low even for you."
Toby groaned, "It's called a joke Paige."
Paige laughed, "Then write on here paid in full and the joke will be over."
Toby sighed and wrote on his invoice "Paid in full." He signed it and gave it back to her.
Paige smiled as she took back her paper and tore it up after filing his invoice away.
That night as Walter and Paige lay in bed he looked at her. "You know we're getting close to March now."
Paige looked up and smiled, "I do believe you are right."
Walter laughed. "Well what I meant is, my parents will be here after the first of March and we haven't really decided anything about our wedding. Or have you changed your mind?"
Paige frowned and punched his thigh. "Of course I haven't. I just figured we could do a simple ceremony. Either here at the Garage or at a justice of the peace, heck we could even go to Vegas and get married."
Walter smiled, "Well I want you to have the wedding you want. I know your friends are very important to you. They at least seem more approving of me then before."
Paige laughed. "Well you've made a much better second impression on them then your first. But I wouldn't care even if they didn't. You love me, and that is all I care about."
Walter hugged her. "I will always love you Paige."
The next morning Walter asked to tag along with Cabe as hey took Ralph to school. Paige frowned but nodded even though he hadn't actually asked her permission just Cabe's.
As they drove away from the Garage Cabe looked over at Walter, "Okay, so what is on your mind?"
Walter smiled, "Am I really that transparent?"
Cabe laughed, "I told you before kid, I know you."
Walter nodded as he half turned, "I'd prefer this not to go any further guys."
Both Cabe and Ralph nodded.
"Paige told me last night she didn't really care about the wedding. Even just a justice of the peace would be fine." Walter told them.
Cabe shook his head, "I wouldn't buy that Walter."
Ralph nodded, "Mom might be more lenient about certain things but even I know she'd really rather have a bit more ceremony than that."
Walter nodded, "That's what I thought. But still, she's not willing to discuss anything. So I need your help setting up a good ceremony without her."
Cabe smiled, "You can count on me and I am sure Allie."
Ralph nodded, "Me too."
Walter smiled, "I spoke with Happy this morning and she is going to make me a laser measurement device so I can covertly capture her measurements for a bridal dress."
Cabe laughed, "Just be careful, you are going to be treading on dangerous grounds there."
Walter grinned, "Do I remember correctly that Allie's sister makes clothes?"
Cabe nodded as he reached up and hit a button on his steering wheel, "Call Allie."
"Calling Allie," the computer responded.
"Good morning Special Agent Gallo." Allie responded as she answered her phone.
Cabe grinned, "Good morning Ms. Jones. I'm here with Walter and Ralph."
Allie smiled, "Well that makes this call a little boring then, how can I help Homeland today?"
Cabe laughed, "Well Walter wants to try and put together a secret small wedding ceremony for Paige and him since she told him she'd be happy going to a justice of the peace. I thought you might like in on it. Also do you think your sister would make a wedding dress for her?"
Allie smiled, "Oh Walter, I would be happy to help you plan this. And I'll call my sister but I am sure she would love to make her a dress. When can she get measurements?"
Walter laughed, "Well I'm trying to do this without Paige knowing so I'm waiting on Happy to make me a laser device to take measurements of Paige without her knowing it."
Allie laughed, "Okay, it is your funeral. Where did you want to hold it?"
Walter smiled, "Well if Cabe doesn't mind, I thought we could do it at his house."
Cabe looked over in shock, "Walter. It would be an honor. I'll have to know the date and time and number of cars so I can schedule it with the HOA about parking."
Walter nodded, "Well Mom and Dad will be here on the first which is a Friday. So that Saturday? We could just tell Paige it is a cookout. I could leave before she wakes up on a supposed programming job for Homeland. There are only really two of her friends that she'd really want there. Of course if we could get Veronica here Paige would probably enjoy that too."
Cabe smiled, "Okay, so Allie and I will work on decorating the inside of my house for the wedding between now and then. You will get Allie the measurements for Paige's dress along with what dress Paige might like. I'll reach out to my contact and see if she can get Veronica here and you will invite these friends of Paige's."
Walter nodded.
"We should probably hire a caterer to actually cook the food. Also I could sleep over at your house and help you guys decorate." Ralph spoke up.
They heard a beep from the phone.
Walter smiled, "That is an excellent suggestion. They'd need to make some vegan dishes as well for Allie at least."
Allie laughed, "Thanks for that. My sister is on the other line and she said she would be tickled to make the dress."
Walter grinned, "Tell her I said thank you. I'll get her all the information as quickly as I can. Hopefully it'll be before this weekend."
Cabe looked over, "How does 6 p.m. sound?"
Walter nodded, "Sounds good to me. Oh, Dr Rizzuto wanted to be invited as well. And we should probably find Ray. No more than twenty people counting Allie's sister if she wants to be there and the justice of the peace."
"She'd love to be there, especially if there is any last minute adjustments to get the dress to fit properly." Allie added.
"Okay, March 2nd at 6 p.m. Allie, Ralph and I will decorate the inside of my house. We'll get a caterer and a justice. Allie's sister is going to make the dress. I'll pick you up early that morning so you won't see Paige. You do realize she isn't going to be too happy about you having left like that right?" Cabe looked at Walter.
Walter grinned, "I'm just hoping when she realizes what it is for she'll forget about being mad."
Cabe laughed, "Let me know how that works out for you."
Walter had Cabe stop for doughnuts on the way back to the Garage. He walked in carrying the box and Paige looked up, "Doughnuts?"
Walter nodded, "I was really craving a cinnamon twist."
Paige laughed, "Didn't trust Cabe?"
Walter stopped and stared at her for a moment and managed to look a little embarrassed. "I didn't even think about that."
Paige grinned as she got up and followed him into the kitchen. She stepped up and kissed him after he sat the box down, "I missed you."
Walter smiled and slid his arms around her waist and was promptly kicked and they both laughed, "I missed you too Paige."
