THE SECOND DANCE OF DRAGONS
PART 1. QUEEN OF THE EAST
After six months in Yunkai, Daenarys marches out of the city. Her army is eight thousand Unsullied, two thousand of the Second Sons and eight hundred Knights, Yunakai and men of Astapor who bent the knee, and sell swords looking for an opportunity to gain favor with the Dragon Queen. Her Dragon Daarix was now half the size of an Elephant.
She enjoyed watching him fly and worried when he flew off to go hunt. She could not restrain him as he needed some freedom to thrive. As her army marched to Meereen Daenarys and Daario spend a lot of time together, getting to know each other. One day she challenged him to a training duel. She beat him in three moves.
""As my woman, you are supposed to be concerned about my fragile male ego."
"I am your woman?"
He pulls her close and kisses her. "You are mine and I am yours."
Soon they reach the city of Meereen. And approaches her Dragon Darrrix. "Fly over the city for me and set fire to the battlements." She says to Daarix in Valyrian.
The Dragon leaps into the air and flies at the wall. As he does the people on the wall scatter as he blasts the wall above the main gate in fire. A few hours later the gates are opened and the people surrender. Daenarys takes up residence in the Great Pyramid of Meereen and holds court. She also holds trials for the Masters. Any Master who was found guilty of unnecessary cruelty, against their former slaves is nailed to a cross pole. Some slaves testify for revenge others do not out of fear of their former Masters.
Those she can't find guilty she places in the dungeons for life. Later she meets with Tyrion and Aegon through the fire. "I should be at your side." Daenarys says.
"If you leave before the time, everything you've accomplished will fall apart." Aegon replies.
"We can handle Stannis the two of us."
"I prefer three against three than three against two." Tyrion says. "I have sent for my brother Jaime. When he arrives I will deal with my father and send you some ships."
"Be safe." Daenarys emotionally says.
"You as well."
They break the link and then Daenarys meets with Grey Worm, Daario, Jorah, Ser Barristan, Varys, and Missandei. "My enemies have started to meet in secret. They call themselves the Sons of the Harpy…Lord Naharis." She had made Daario a Lord upon arriving in Meereen. "…and Grey Worm will hunt down these Sons of the Harpy." She slides a list of names to Daario. "Here are some of the leaders. Arrest them, torture them, and make them give up their allies. Hang the leaders wearing the Golden Masks."
DARRIO
Lord Daario Naharis and Grey Worm march through the streets with three thousand men of the Unsullied. They burst into the Mansion of Jyzar mo Heim. "What is the meaning of this?"
Daario walks to his solar and returns with a golden Harpy Mask, "This marks you as a member of the Sons of the Harpy." Daario nods to his men and they stab his wife with a spear.
"No!"
"Give up your friends or watch your children die." He stammers a few names out, "Those are slaves, I also want your noble friends as well." He hesitates, "Very well then give him his daughter's hands."
"Father!"
"No! I…I'll cooperate. Just leave my family alone." Many more interrogations are conducted in the same manner. The members of the Sons of the Harpy are immediately executed. Their heads are placed on pikes wearing their golden Harpy masks.
DAENARYS
When she is sure that she can leave the city. Daenarys starts making preparations to leave and attack the city of Tolos. She gazes into the fire and sees her army ambushed by the Dothraki who had been paid by the Masters of Volantis, Qarth, Myr, and Lys to kill Daenarys and destroy her army. The time had come to fly on Daarix. He is big enough and she would take Daario with her.
"My Queen, I should come with you." Ser Barristan says in concern.
"I will be fine." She replies dressed in her black and red armor. She and Daario mount Daarix and take off. They fly North and turn towards the small mountains where the Dothraki are hiding. They stop twice to rest and so that Daarix can hunt before reaching the enemy. As the sun sets Daenarys attacks. Horses screech in pain and men die screaming in pain as they are burned alive in Daarix's flames.
The Dothraki scatter in different directions some on feet and others on horseback. A few fire arrows up at the Dragon, but the growing darkness obscures their vision. Daarix climbs high and then dives on the scattering horsemen. The Dragon flies low knocking men off their horses and sometimes knocking both horse and rider down. They rest on a mountainside cliff, before flying back towards Meereen.
Five days later she leads her army out of Meereen and marches on Talos. In the second week the army stops at the ruins of Bhorash near the Black Cliffs. Then it is on to Talos, as they march her army grows. They are joined by runaway slaves, who wish to fight for Daenarys. Another sell-sword army joins her ranks, the Lost Legion. When they reach Tolos Daenarys flies over the city and the people surrender.
As they ride through the streets Daenarys looks at Daario. "You seem disappointed."
"Well yeah, I had a plan to take the city. I was once Pit fighting champion of Tolos."
"The less blood spilled the better. Perhaps we can marry."
He looks at her, "You'd marry me?"
"Not if you don't love me."
"I love you with all my heart."
She smiles as they make their way to the Palace of Lords. When news of Daario's return is made public and that he rides with Daenarys Targaryen, the people of Tolos are more accepting of her. Plans are made for a wedding to take place in a few weeks. They marry in the palace, but the wedding is interrupted by an assassin who tries to kill Daenarys.
"Its my fault." She says later. "I have been neglecting my fire sight."
"Thank the gods old and new we were able to stop it my Queen." Ser Barristan says.
"We have a private wedding. No guests, then I want security of the palace and defenses of the city set up."
Later she confers with Tyrion and Aegon, "We all should be more vigilant." Aegon says.
"The Masters of Volantis and the other free cities are gathering an army against you." Tyrion says.
"I know."
"I am sending a fleet of steam ships to help you…They should be there in time to intercept the enemy fleet."
"After the battle the other free cities should surrender to you." Aegon says.
The Armies of the Free Cities will attack from the land and the sea. Tyrion's fleet hides on the east side of the Isle of Cedars. Danearys had foreseen that the enemy will sail in between Isle and the Lands of the Long Summer. The fleet arrives first, but is attacked from behind by a hundred steam ships. After five days of fighting, the free cities' fleet retreats. And as they are retreating the army arrives to attack from land.
All day the city is bombarded by catapults. Then when the sun goes down, Daenarys attacks them from Dragonback scattering the army. For several hours she bathes the enemy in Dragonfire and then retreats behind the wall. The enemy tries to sneak into the city, but their efforts are thwarted. The enemy regroups and tries another all-out assault on the city. They are greeted by a hail of arrows, javelins, and flaming jars of pitch. When Daarix roars, the army scatters again. "The enemy seems to have left the area Your Grace." Grey Worm says.
"I will fly over the surrounding area to make sure." She also sends out a hundred men on horseback. They search until sunset, the enemy had truly fled. Over the next few weeks she sends messengers to demand that other free cities surrender. All surrender except for Qarth, the Greatest city that ever was or will be.
PART 2. BATTLE OF THE DRAGON KINGS
JAIME
One of Tyrion's steam ships came to pick him up and the children. To Lannisport they returned and Jaime is bought to a secret room at an inn in the city. "Tyrion." His brother is waiting along with his Aunt Genna and Uncle Tygett. "Uncle…Aunty…What is this?"
"The time for truths has come Jaime." Genna says.
"What truths?"
"As you know Jaime our mother was a beautiful woman. Many men desired her, but only our father could win her heart."
"Your mother died giving birth to Tyrion. Before she died she confided in me. The Mad King cornered her and raped her. Tyrion was born nine months later."
He shakes his head, "No…no…It can't be."
"Jaime." Tyrion calls his name. When he looks at him Tyrion places his hand in the fire place. After a good while he shows Jaime his hand.
"Blood of my blood…You're still my brother." Jaime says hugging him.
"There is more to tell." Tyrion says and they tell him about Daenarys and Aegon. "If we are to remove our father from power I need you to unite the West under Aegon." Maester Crelyn is with Tyrion as well and puts a sleeping drug into his food. With Tywin Lannister out of the way they summon the banners to Casterly Rock.
AEGON
He flies on his Dragon Rhaegal with Joannar following him. When Aegon arrives Tyrion is waiting with the Jaime and the Lords of the West. When they see Aegon and the dragons they drop to one knee. Tyrion walks up to Aegon and hugs him. At the same time Houses Martell and Tyrell are amassing their forces to join up with Aegon and the Westerland forces at Deep Den to march on King's Landing.
The Tyrell and Martell armies arrive at the same time with a few other loyal Houses from the Crownlands.
MELISANDRE
"The time has come my King." Melisandre says to Stannis. She had chosen three bastards for the sacrifice and two to ride the other two Dragons she intends to wake from stone. Prince Edric Baratheon will ride one and Princess Carmell another bastard will ride the other in Stannis' name.
What is left of Stannis' fleet is gathered in Black Water Bay near the shore. All ships are armed with Wild Fire. Stannis gives the command and the fleet sails out to meet the Lannister Steam ships surrounding Dragonstone. Melisandre, Stannis, and the Baratheon Bastards are on the same ship. It will hold back with its escort while the rest of the fleet distracts the enemy. This will allow them to reach Dragonstone.
Armed with Wild Fire the Baratheon fleet attacks the Lannister Steam ships. To hit their targets the Baratheon ship must fire ahead of the Steam ships. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Despite being outnumbered the Lannister Steam ships hold their own. As the battle unfolds Stannis' flagship the Royal Stag makes it way to Dragonstone.
Suddenly one of the Steam ships spots them and starts steaming towards the flagship and its escorts. However the flagship is a diversion as Stannis, Melisandre, and the rest are on another ship, Captained by Ser Davos. He runs the ship aground and they go ashore. Stannis still has men inside the castle and they let him and his party inside.
"We must rest one day before we perform the ritual." At sunset the next day Melisandre takes the three bastards, Stannis and the legitimized bastards. She takes blood from Stannis, Edric, and Carmell. She paints the blood on the statue and then makes the sacrifice. As she chants the blood starts to bubble and stone melts and becomes flesh.
The Dragons growl, as smoke billows from their snouts and mouths. The entire Island shakes as the Dragons come to life. They leap into the air and circle the Island. Then they attack the village surrounding the castle and make food of the people. When their hunger is sated the Dragons fly to the stretch of land on the side of the castle.
One Dragon is red, the next one is silver, and the last Dragon is blue and white. Stannis claims the red Dragon and names it Sarrix. Edric names his Dragon Penthar, and Carmell names her Dragon Rodan. It takes them three weeks to master riding and commanding the Dragons.
AEGON
The Targaryen army is made up of sixty thousand Lannisters, forty thousand men of Houses Tyrell and Martell. Aegon rides his Dragon Rhaegal with Gendry and Ser Arthur. When they near the city Aegon orders Rhaegal to blast a hole in the gate. Then he flies the Dragon to the old Dragon Tower in the Red Keep. The Dragon roars drawing the attention of everyone in the city. He is joined by Tyrion on Joannar.
Meanwhile bellow the Targaryen coalition charges into the city. They have orders not to sack the city. It doesn't take long for the gold cloaks to turn on the Baratheon men in the city. The Gold cloaks open the gates to the Targaryen forces and they overwhelm the defenders. Within hours Aegon controls the city. The Baratheon banners are taken down and the Targaryen banners put in its place.
A few days pass when Stannis and his riders are spotted flying towards the city on their Dragons. "Are you ready?" Aegon asks Tyrion.
"As ready as I will ever be."
The two take off and fly towards the three Baratheon riders. Aegon wargs into Stannis and destroys his mind. While Edric and Carmell chase Tyrin through the air. With Stannis dead, his Dragon Sarrix flies away. Rhaegal attacks Penthar and his rider Edric from above. "Dracarys!" Aegon commands and Rhaegal bathes Edric in fire. Even with the flapping of Rhaegal's wings he can hear Edric's screams on the wind.
When Edric dies Carmell orders her Dragon Rodan to fly away. She flies her Dragon southeast towards the King's wood. Tyrion signals Aegon, but he signals back that they should not chase her and returns to the Red Keep. Many hours later after resting Aegon sits on the Iron Throne as guards bring in Selyse Baratheon.
"You wanted to see me My Lady?"
"I am no Lady! I am your Queen."
"With Stannis dead your claim to the Iron Throne is no longer valid."
"My daughter is his heir."
"You and your daughter are finished! But I am not my grandfather the Mad King. You and your daughter will be my wards…"
"I am Queen and nothing you can say or do will ever change that!"
"Your circumstances say otherwise. I will lead my forces into the Stormlands to humble the Stormlords. Then I will name my friend Ser Gendry Baratheon Lord of Storm Ends and the Storm Lands."
"I will never bend the knee!"
"I grow tired of you woman…Take Lady Selyse back to her room."
CARMELL
Like all Baratheons she is black of hair and blue eyes. She worked as a shark hunter on a boat until Stannis' men came for her. Then she lived like a princess. She ate well, wore the best clothes, and had servants. She became Princess Carmell Baratheon. Then she became a Dragon Rider, proud strong and fierce. She followed her King, her Uncle into battle only to watch him die, along with her half brother Prince Edric Baratheon.
She sits beside her Dragon Rodan for warmth; she named the Dragon after her lover Rod. Every now and then she looked up for any sign of other Dragons. Soon she became hungry and walked to the river to catch fish with her hands. Rodan made a fire for her and she cooked the fish. Suddenly the flames turn blue and a man with crown on his head, dressed in black and red appears to her.
"Who are you?" She asks jumping up. Rodan growls at the ghostly fiery image in the flames.
"My name is Aegon Targaryen, the Seventh of his name. I am your King."
"Stannis is my King."
"Stannis is dead. Do you wish to join him?"
"What do you want?" She fearfully asks.
"I want you to bend the knee and serve me as a Dragon Rider. I will need you when the long night comes." He explains to her about the Night King and what is coming for all of them. Aegon and Carmell on their Dragons fly to Dragonstone to kill Melisandre, but when they arrive she and the rest of the Baratheon men are gone. They rest for two days and then fly to Sharp Point. House Emmon bends the knee to Aegon. Then they fly to Stonedance and accepts their surrender and oaths.
TYRION
He leads the Targaryen army from Dragonback in the invasion of the Stormlands. Gendry is with him and they surround Haystack Hall. Of course House Errol bends the knee. Then Tyrion has the Maester send the Ravens out demanding that the Lords of the Stormlands come to Haystack to bend the knee to King Aegon.
Aegon and Carmell show up two days later. "What about the other two Dragons?" Tyrion asks.
"I think I can coax them into coming back, using my magic and Rodan. Hopefully Sarrix will accept Gendry as a Rider."
The Lords show up over the next few days and swear fealty to Aegon and then Gendry. Aegon remains at Haystack and is able to get Sarrix to come and accept Gendry as his new Rider. Then they return to King's Landing to prepare for Aegon's wedding to Lady Talla Tarly.
