This is it, guys, the moment you've all been waiting for. The biggest battle ever!! I'm really excited about this one and I hope you love the surprise I have in this. What will it be? Well, read and you shall see (oooh, that rhymed). Alright, onward to battle, and with the story!!!
Madi and Ian watch as the rock dragon makes its way towards Barley and Echo after it sees the Phoenix Gem in the older teen's hand. "Barley, run!!" the younger teen shouts out to him. Barley climbs down the fountain and runs away, with the baby dragon back on his shoulders. "What do you want? The gem? Fine, take it!" he said to it, throwing the 'gem' off in another direction, which was actually a part from Guinivere. The dragon goes over to the object while Barley and Echo run back to Ian and Madi. But the dragon discovers that the supposed 'gem' was a fake and it got really angry. It lets out a roar and emits fire from its breath, preventing the teens to reunite. "Ian, watch out!" Madi said to the elf boy, as they fell down on the ground when the flames hit it. The girl clutches her forearm a bit and winced, as the flames burned her a bit. "Madi!" Ian said, moving towards her. He helps her up while she said "don't worry, I'm alright, but we gotta move your dad away". The two move over to Wilden and tried to help him up, but they look up and see the dragon has taken flight and started going after them. Before it could touch them, though, it was suddenly hit by an unknown force, causing it to fall on the ground. The teens and Echo look up and they see Corey flying valiantly through the sky, the Curse Crusher in paw. "The Manticore!" Barley shouts out, fists in the air. Also, Ian and Madi see their moms on the manticore's back.
"Mom?" "Mother? Mom?" both Madi and Ian said, with surprised looks on their faces when they see their moms there. "It's okay, kids. We'll take care of-" Laurel was going to say, but Corey started to tip over a bit. "Woah, you're tilting!" Mallory said to her, helping her go steady again. "Go see your father" Laurel tells Ian and Barley. "Don't worry, we'll deal with this creature" Cadence said as well. The two young teens look up at their moms with worry, but they hear Barley say to them "it's okay. If they stab the beast's core with that sword, the curse will be broken". They then look at each other, nod, and they run over to a rocky ledge, where they would meet Barley and Echo, with Wilden trailing behind them. While the women distract the dragon, the teens and baby dragon meet at the edge. Barley hands Ian his staff and Echo jumps off of the older teen's shoulders and onto the elf girl's, nuzzling hers and the boy's cheeks, relieved to see them okay. "Barley, what I said before. I'm so sorry-" the younger brother was going to apologize, but was stopped by his older brother. "There's no time, the sun's about to set!" he tells him while placing the gem in the staff. Madi and Barley stand back a bit while Ian casts the spell, pointing the staff at Wilden. "Only once is all we get, grant me this rebirth. Until tomorrow's sun has set, one day to walk the earth!" he casts.
Then, as Ian said those words, blue light starts to emit from the staff as it works its magic. Meanwhile, Corey was about to stab the curse dragon with the Curse Crusher while it was on the ground, but it suddenly gets up and swings its tail, hitting the manticore and the three elf women away. "Ooo, my back" Corey said, her back hurting a bit and being unable to move. The dragon starts to make its way to the rocky edge, where Ian, Madi, Barley, Wilden and Echo are. Laurel then goes to pick up the large sword, removing her glasses while doing so. "I am a mighty warrior" she said, running towards the dragon with a serious look upon her face while Cadence and Mallory, who are next to Corey, watch as their friend runs off towards it. Laurel gets to the dragon's core and stabs the sword through it, making it stop temporarily. "Hurry, I can't hold this for long!" she tells her sons and Madi. Mallory watches on, but she looks around on the ground at the different things around her and she gets an idea. She looks over at her wife and said "honey, do you still have that special creative trick that you have?" "Uh, yes, why?" Cadence replied, her eyebrow kind of raised. "Cause I your help with making something. Corey, we're gonna need your help too" the elf woman said. Her wife's eyes widen as she realized what she was talking about, while the manticore looks at them in utter confusion.
While Ian tries to complete the spell, he was having some trouble with it, as he was starting to feel like he was going to slip. "Madi! Barley!" he shouts out to them. The two go over to him and help him keep steady. Echo even jumps off of Madi's shoulders and helps by pushing the back of the elf girl's leg. Then, after a moment, the spell is complete and the gem starts to move forward onto Wilden, the top half of him slowly starting to appear. As the teens and baby dragon watch on, Laurel starts to lose control as the curse dragon starts to get up. She flies backwards and the dragon starts moving again, losing the sword in the process. "Boys! Madi! It's coming back!" she shouts to them. They all turn around and they see the dragon coming towards them. Echo, with a determined look on her face, runs forward, straight towards the beast. "Echo! No, come back here!" Madi said, calling out to the baby dragon. Then, Echo stops in front of the large dragon, who was several feet away, and she lets out a mighty roar, which, unfortunately, comes out as a squeak or meow. This did not affect the curse dragon at all, as it let out a loud roar. Echo's eyes widen in fear. She yelps and runs back to the teens, jumping right into Madi's arms.
After that, the curse dragon starts to walk closer to the small group. Ian wraps his arms protectivly around Madi and Echo, while Barley moves in front of them, shielding them from whatever harm comes to them. Before the dragon could take another step, a voice makes it stop dead in its tracks. "Hey, you heaping bunch of rubble!" the voice said. The dragon and the group turn their heads and see Mallory and Cadence standing next to each other, several feet away from them. Mallory was holding a makeshift bow, an arrow pointed directly at the dragon. "Step away from the kids!" she said to it. The dragon growls and lets out another roar at them. "Mom! Mother! What are you doing?!" Madi asks them, worry in her voice. "It's alright, Madi. Just stay right there, okay" Cadence tells her daughter. "Ready, dear?" Mallory asks her wife. Cadence gives her a knowing smirk and said "ready when you are, hun". The dragon growls at the two women. Then, Mallory releases the arrow, and Cadence, with her hands, makes the arrow glow a light pink color. When the arrow hits the dragon's neck, it instantly changes into a large rope. They held onto the rope with a good and firm grip, hoping that it'll slow the dragon down. It notices this and tries to break free from its hold.
Madi was very surprised to see what had just happened. 'What in the world?' she thought, her mouth agape. Echo's jaw almost drops on the ground. Ian and Barley had the same expression, though Barley's was more excited then shocked. "Mads, your moms are a skilled ranger and sorceress. That is amazing!!" he said to her. The elf girl was too astounded by this reveal, that all she could say was "yea, amazing". But those feelings were cut short as the curse dragon grabs a hold of the rope and swings it, carrying Cadence and Mallory with it. They scream as they started spinning around. "Mom! Mother!" Madi shouts out, handing Echo to Ian. "Madi, what are you doing?!" he asks her. "I need to help them!" she tells him, before she runs to go help and save her moms. Before long, their grips start to loosen more and more the faster they went. Then, they lose their grip on the rope and fly off, causing the rope to disappear into thin air. The two women flew over Madi, and they go over to the cliff. "Mother! Mom!" she said. She watches as her moms go over the rocky cliff behind her. "No!!" she shouts out again, shutting her eyes and stretching her hands out, not wanting to watch them fall to their deaths. She waits to hear the sound of splashing, but none came. She hesitantly opens one eye, but both widen when she sees both her moms, very much alive and surrounded by what looked like a protective bubble like dome that was light pink in color, just like the rope was. "Ah, you're both okay! But how are you doing that, Mother?" she said, relieved to see them alright, but also wondering how her mother is doing that. "It's not me, Madi. It's actually coming from you" Cadence tells her. At first, Madi was confused, but when she looks at her hands, she saw that they were in fact glowing, thus meaning that she's was the one doing this.
Madi couldn't believe it. She has magic, just like Ian. "No way" Barley mutters, as him and his younger brother watch in amazement and surprise. Very cautiously and carefully, the elf girl moves her hands over to her right side, carrying her moms back on safe ground, away from the edge. Once they were placed safely on the ground, the glow on Madi's hands disappears. She looks at them and turns back to look at the Lightfoot brothers and Echo, who still had the same expressions on their faces. The girl couldn't help but let a soft smile appear on her face. Ian returns the smile, but it instantly fades as his eyes widen in fear. "Madi, look out!!" he shouts out to her. Madi turns around and sees the dragon's tail coming towards her. Before she had anytime to react, she was hit by the massive tail. She flies backwards and lands on the ground, hard. She clutches herself, gasping in pain. "Madi!!" both the Lightfoot brothers and her moms said. Echo lets out a cry and wiggles out from Ian's hold, running towards the fallen elf girl. Ian had a worried and pained look on his face as he sees the girl he loves be knocked out by the dragon. "I'll go distract it, and help Madi" Barley tells him. Before he could run off, his brother stops him. "What? No! If you do that, you'll miss Dad" he tells him. " It's okay, say hi to Dad for me" the older brother said. Ian shook his head and said "no, you go say goodbye". "What?" Barley said, confused. "I had someone who looked out for me. Someone who pushed me to be someone I never thought I could be. I never had a dad, but I always had you" the younger brother said.
Barley was stunned by his words. Before he had a chance to reply, Ian goes off to face the curse dragon and help Madi, leaving him with Wilden. While he fought it, Echo finally manages to go up to the girl without any harm coming to her. She runs up to her and nuzzles and licks her cheek. Madi, while in pain, still manages to open her eyes and sees the baby dragon before her. "Echo?" she said softly. Echo yips happily, and the elf girl manages to sit up a little, clutching her right side of her waist. While she did that, she looks up and sees her friend/crush fighting the dragon on his own. "Ian" she gasps out. "Boombastia!" she heard him say, as fireworks emits from the staff and hits the dragon. It tries to hit Ian with its tail, but he easily dodges it with ease. Angry, the dragon lets out a loud roar. The elf boy glares at it with intensity and anger. He quickly glances over at Madi, who was sitting up and holding her right side with her arm. 'Hang in there, Madi, I'll be there for you soon' he thought. Then, the dragon tries to hit him again with its tail, but he blocks it with the levitation spell. The elf girl watches the dragon spins again, doing the same thing it did to her moms. Then, Ian loses his grip on the staff and he falls off, breaking his leg and losing the staff as well. "No!" he shouted. The dragon then starts walking towards Barley, still intent to get the gem back. It almost steps on Ian, but thankfully moves out of the way. "Ian! Barley!" Madi shouts to him, while trying to stand up, but fell onto her knees, gritting her teeth as she did so. Echo looks up at her in concern, letting out a worried chirp. The elf boy looks and sees the beast coming closer to his older brother.
Madi looks and sees Ian create another staff from the splinter that was on his hands and casts Arcane Lightning at the curse dragon, with heart's fire and complete focus, before it got anymore closer to Barley. The bolt hits directly at the dragon's side, exposing the core. "Ian!" Laurel calls out, finally obtaining the Curse Crusher once again. She throws it over to her son, and he catches it with the levitation spell. He throws it at the dragon's core and it suddenly explodes, thus ending the curse. The debris starts falling everywhere. Ian then collapses on the ground in exhaustion, dropping his new staff while doing so. "Ian!" Madi calls out, painfully managing to stand on her two legs and lifting her hands up. Her hands glowed as she puts a protective barrier over Ian, so that none of the debris will harm him. She tries to hold it up for as long as she could, but she feels her legs starting to give up on her and is starting to lose concentration. Then, the pain on her side gets the better of her and she clutches it, her hands no longer glowing. She collapses on the ground, her vision starting to become blurry. Before she knew, she fell into unconsciousness, her vision around her turning black.
