Part 19 Joining the Expedition Society!

Last time on Pokémon Mystery Dungeon ZB, our heroes made it out of the Sheer Mountain Range. They then had to deal with Gentle Slope Cave. And after that, they have now reached Lively Town. Their long journey to Lively Town ends, now.
We see our heroes head towards a gate. "Wow! It looks a lot livelier than Serene Village, all right! But is this really Lively Town? Let's go ask around." Lucia said.
Jordon then spotted a Snubbull passing by and said to her, "Excuse me, ma'am!"
"What a rude child! I'm clearly a miss... and not a ma'am!" she told them.
"Oops! Sorry! Excuse me, miss. Is this Lively Town?" Jordon asked her.
"Yes it is. Is this your first time here? Kids like you could easily get lost, so stick with your parents, okay?" she told them as she walked away.
"All right! I knew we had made it to Lively Town! Let's go, Jordon!" Lucia said to him.
When they got to the middle of Lively Town, "It looks like they have all kinds of shops and stuff here, too. Somewhere in this town we should be able to find the Expedition Society. Let's go find it, Jordon!" Lucia said before being hit by a Krokorok.
"Ouch!" Lucia said upon impact.
"Don't just stand there with that dumb look on your face! That hurt! What? Kids, huh? Haven't seen you around here before. Yeah, this is-." started Krokorok before Jordon interrupted him.
"Listen, if you think that I'm just going to let you do a shakedown, you are dead wrong." Jordon told him as he turned Super Saiyan.
"I think I'll go into the cafe and try to forget about this." said Krokorok as he then went into the cafe.
"Thank you Jordon." Lucia told him.
"Don't mention it." Jordon said to her.
Why did you turn Super Saiyan? asked Lucia.
I wanted to scare him. replied Jordon.
They then came across a huge building. "Kind of a weird building, isn't it? Is this it? " Lucia asked.
Jordon then saw a sign and said, "I'll read this sign then. It says, 'This is the Expedition Society. If you need us, please come on in. Please, no solicitors. As if there really are sales Pokémon... who would just read that and obediently walk away. Well, well, well!' This is it!"
"All right! Then let's go and join!" Lucia said.
And they then went inside.
The inside was empty. "Hello-o-o?" Lucia asked.
They got no answer. "Is anyone there?" Jordon asked.
That also got them no answer. "I guess there's no one here... maybe they're in another room. Let's go look for them." Lucia said.
They then went to the second floor. And they then saw a big, glowing, blue orb in the middle of the room. "Jordon! Look at that!" Lucia said.
"I can see something in the middle of it... is that a big map?" Jordon asked.
"Well, Jordon... I think this is the Pokémon Nexus!" Lucia said.
"Wow. So this is it..." Jordon said.
"Yup, I think it is! Look, there are places where you can see what places look like, but others you can't." Lucia said.
"How about that... the places we can't see are covered in clouds..." Jordon said in wonder.
"The Pokémon Nexus is a very mysterious map. When we find new places, those clouds will clear away. That's how we can make a map of our world, piece by piece." Lucia said.
They then saw Swirlix being chased by an Archen, a Buizel, a Bunnelby, and a Dedenne. "What's this all about?!" Jordon asked them.
"You're not getting away this time, Swirlix!" Buizel said.
"Ughh..." Swirlix then said.
"When will you learn?" Bunnelby then asked Swirlix.
"Don't you see what you've done, Swirlix?! Can you promise never to do that again?" Dedenne then asked Swirlix.
"I can't promise that. Dedenne, there's no way..." Swirlix then said.
Dedenne then was sparking electricity and she then said, "Sheesh! Always eating up all the good stuff all by yourself! I've had enough!"
She then fired a bolt of lightning towards Swirlix, which she, Lucia, and Jordon managed to dodge. But it hit the Pokémon Nexus. "The Pokémon Nexus!" Lucia said.
It then blew up. "Ahh! My blood, sweat, and tears... all for nothing!" Archen then said.
"Archen, now's not the time for that!" Buizel then said.
"Buizel's right! I'm still more upset about the food!" Dedenne then said.
They then heard someone's stomach growling. "Ooh, my belly! All of a sudden, I got so hungry... I can't take it... I'm gonna pass out." Swirlix said as she then fainted.
"What?!" Bunnelby then asked.
"Why would you do that?!" Archen then asked.
"I mean... the ones who haven't eaten anything..." Buizel then said.
"That's us." Dedenne said as they then collapsed onto the floor.
"Are you okay?!" Jordon asked them.
"Yeah... don't worry... we're okay... it's just..." Buizel said before they heard another stomach growl.
"We're just so hungry..." Dedenne then said.
"We can't even move..." Archen then said.
"Um, are you guys who I think you are?" Lucia then asked them.
"Yup. We are the Expedition Society. But right now... all of our Expedition Society's food... was devoured by that glutton." Buizel then said.
"Wha-?!" Lucia asked him.
"But she's passed out on the floor from hunger while we're still standing! It's really incredible!" Dedenne then said.
"Anyway, none of us can move if we don't figure something out. Sorry... we need some food..." Buizel said.
"We're on it!" Lucia said.
"Right, let's get some food from the plaza!" Jordon said.
And then they left.
Later, they ate a lot of the food that they had received from Jordon and Lucia. "Whoo! What a tasty meal!" they all said simultaneously.
"Yeah, I'm stuffed! Stuffed, I tell ya!" Buizel said.
"All right! I feel alive again! Thanks!" Archen then said.
"Yeah! I was really worried for a second there!" Swirlix then said.
"It's your fault that we were in that mess!" Buizel then said.
Jordon and Lucia then explained how they got the food. "By the way, you two, what brings you here today?" Buizel asked them.
"If you've come for a tour, Bunnelby will gladly show you around the place. But it's already too late today. Come back tomorrow, huh?" Bunnelby asked them.
"No... we're not here for a tour. We want to work here. We want to join the Expedition Society." Lucia told them.
"Wha-?! You wanna join the Expedition Society?!" Archen asked them.
"We do owe you for the food and all. So I'd really like to help you out... but I can't." Buizel told them.
"Kids aren't allowed in the Expedition Society. Sorry..." Dedenne told them.
"We knew that! But we still want to join!" Lucia said.
"Okay, fine by me!" Swirlix said.
"Why is it up to you, Swirlix?" Buizel asked.
"It's the chief's decision." Bunnelby said.
"W-well... I just kinda figured that's what the chief would say." Swirlix said.
"There's no way! The one who decided not to allow kids was the chief in the first place!" Archen then said.
"Okay, fine by me!" a new voice said.
Jordon and Lucia then turned around and saw an Ampharos, a Mawile, Kaiden, and Jennifer. "Chief?!" Buizel asked the Ampharos.
"Oh, Mawile! Welcome home! You two, Kaiden and Jennifer!" Dedenne then said.
"Thanks! I'm back, everybody!" Mawile then said.
"So we meet again, Jordon and Lucia." Kaiden then said to Jordon and Lucia.
"Kaiden! Jennifer!" Lucia then said.
"Long time no see, Jordon and Lucia!" Jennifer then said.
"Huh?! Kaiden, Jennifer, do you know these kids or something?" Bunnelby then asked Kaiden and Jennifer.
"Yes, we do, Bunnelby. We met them in Serene Village." Jennifer said.
"And so, after hearing what Kaiden and Jennifer had to say, I propose we accept these children... into our Expedition Society!" Ampharos then said.
"What?!" Archen asked him.
"But we have a rule that we do not to allow kids..." Buizel then said.
"Why, now that you mention it, we did indeed have such a rule. Well, well, well. Who could have decided upon such a troublesome regulation?" Ampharos asked.
This caused the other Expedition Society members to sweat drop. "Huh? Oh? It was me?" Ampharos asked them.
"Yes, it was. You made up that rule, Chief." Dedenne said.
"Is that so... that does leave me in an awkward position... very well! That rule... is now null and void!" Ampharos then said.
"Wha-?!" Bunnelby then asked.
"If it is I who decided it, then it's a simple matter. I need only to overrule my rule!" Ampharos said.
"Well..." Buizel said.
"Whatever you say, Chief..." Bunnelby then said.
And after introductions, Jordon and Lucia were led to their rooms. And then they went to sleep.
