I want to continue this story bc I've got loads of future chapters written but at the moment I'm SO blocked, so PLEASE GIVE ME IDEAS!
Erin and Jay got the living room ready for Hailey and Kim, who were apparently, according to Kim, coming round for "Game Night". Avery and Lottie agreed to join in, so they were helping clean up the incredibly messy living room.
As if on cue, there was a knock at the door and Erin answered it. Hailey and Kim were standing there, holding board games and whiskey.
"Heya girls." Erin said letting them in.
"We got the essentials." Hailey said showing them the bottle of whiskey. Hailey and Kim put the things down on the counter, as Avery came towards them and hugged them both.
"Hi guys." Avery said, as Hailey ruffled Avery's hair.
"Hey kiddo, how you doing?" Hailey said. She saw Lottie come towards them too. "Hi I'm Hailey, this is Kim." Hailey said to Lottie.
"Hi, I'm Lottie, I'm Avery's friend, slash emotional support animal, slash..." Lottie started.
"She basically lives here." Avery cut Lottie off, who smiled. They all went over to the sofa and Kim put out the game...it was trivial pursuit.
"KIM! Why did you bring this one...Avery and Erin are like the unbeatable Queen's at this game." Jay groaned, Avery and Erin smirked at each other - it was true, when they were on the same team...they were unbeatable.
"I second that. You two aren't teaming!" Hailey said. "Erin go with Jay, Kim go with Avery...I want Lottie." Hailey smiled at Lottie.
"You sure about that?" Avery said, smirking at her best friend who hit her playfully.
"Ex-cuhse me A. What exactly are you implying?" Lottie said, with faux outrage.
"That you failed six of your classes, English you failed THREE times." Avery laughed.
Everyone laughed and Lottie gave Avery evils. "We don't speak of that." Lottie said.
"Stop fighting you two, you sound like an old married couple." Kim said. "Lets get on with the game!" Everyone sat with their allocated partner, Kim extremely happy to have Avery the child Genius on her team. They set out the board and started the game.
Twenty minutes in, Kim and Avery were winning, Lottie and Hailey were second and Erin and Jay were last.
"Ok Avery your question." Hailey said, picking up a card, smirking at how difficult the question was. "You'll never get this. Samuel Tilden, Grover Cleveland, Al Gore and Hillary Clinton share what distinction among U.S. presidential candidates?"
"They won the popular vote but lost the electoral-college vote. Duh." Avery said, Hailey's smug face fell.
"HOW did you know that?! Erin you're raising a GENIUS." Hailey said, reluctantly handing Avery the segment to put in Kim and Avery's piece. "When I was sixteen, I barely knew the difference between left and right."
"Oh shut up, Miss ' I went to the university of Chicago'. You're a smart-ass too." Avery said.
"You went to the University of Chicago?" Erin said. Hailey nodded. "Smart-ass."
"Eh. I keep it quiet." Hailey shrugged.
They got on with the game and Kivery (Kim and Avery's dumb-ass team name) won. Jay was outraged. "SEE?! I told you that she was unbeatable. Avery is Einstein reincarnated. I hate games anyways."
"Awww Jay's a sour loser." Avery said, teasing Jay.
"Next time...Avery Leonie you better be watching out." Jay said, taking a swig of his whisky.
"You came LAST. I'm good I think." Avery laughed.
"Yeah, only because Team Blondie got that extra point. It was neck and neck." Jay said, getting competitive.
"Uh EXCUSE ME. Team Blondie over here kicked your ass." Hailey said.
"ENOUGH." Erin said. "Let's just get another game out and drink more whiskey...or soda if you're underage."
"And what age is...under age?" Lottie said. Her parents didn't really care much about what Lottie did in her free time. She'd usually go out to parties and end up completely pissed passed out in a house somewhere. Avery always found it funny when Lottie would come hungover to school.
"I don't care what your parents let you do Lottie, I'm not having my daughter's eighteen year old best friend get pissed at my house." Erin said, arching an eyebrow. "Soda or water."
Lottie rolled her eyes. "Soda please."
