Hiccup's Pov:
When I walked out of Gothi's house I saw Sunset curled up watching the door. "Hey, girl. Thali is going to fine." I said to Sunset in dragonize. "Are you sure Hiccup," Sunset asked me. "Yea. I sure for now. But do you mind giving Astrid and I a lift to the Village? Then you can come straight back here." I said to her while patting her snout.
I then stood back to let Sunset get up before I turned to face Heather. "Heather, I will meet you in the centre of the Village," I said. Heather nodded then took off on Windshear. "Sunset has agreed to give us a lift down to the village," I said when I felt Astrid preference behind me. I
mounted up on Sunset and held my hand out to Astrid. Astrid grabbed my hand I then pulled her up behind me then told Sunset to head to the Village.
Astrid's Pov:
I was standing beside Heather when Hiccup went over to the Monstrous Nightmare that was curled up outside the Healers house. "So, what is this one's name?" I asked her. "This is Sunset she did belong too..."
"She belonged to Hannah," I said finishing off her sentence quietly so Hiccup wouldn't here. Heather turned to look at me so fast I almost missed it. "You know about Hannah?" She whispered. I nodded. "Hiccup told me the other day," I explained. "Sunset is really important to Hiccup and Thali." She said.
"I know I understand I really do. Anyway, do you know what Hiccup is saying to Sunset?" I asked Heather. "No, I only know a few words in Dragonize. Hiccup is the only one knows the full language. Valka knows a wee bit more than Dagur and I and Thali knows a tiny bit as well." She said.
"Heather, I will meet you in the centre of the Village." Hiccup said to Heather. Heather then mounted her dragon and took off towards the village. I walked over to Hiccup and stood behind him. "Sunset has agreed to give us a lift down to the village." Hiccup said as he mounted up on Sunset. Once he was on Sunset, he held his hand out for me to take which I did, and he pulled me up behind him.
I wrapped my arms around his waist as he told Sunset to go. Sunset took off from the ground and headed to the village.
Once we had reached the Village Hiccup jumped of Sunset and helped me down from her before walking over to Dagur and the young Nadder dragon. I walked up to Sunset and placed my hand on her snout. She closed her eyes and purred as I patted her. "Hey, girl," I said. Then she took off to where I suppose its back to the Healers house to sit outside.
"Right, here is some food to get you both what should be at least a couple of days." Hiccup said to Dagur and Heather. "Thanks, Brother," Dagur said. "Make sure you are not followed by any dragon trappers or Hunters on your way to the Defenders of the Wing." Hiccup said.
'Who are these Dragon trappers and Hunters that has Hiccup so worried about.' I thought. "We will be fine Hiccup. Don't worry about us. Just take care of Thalia." Heather said.
Heather and Dagur mounted their dragons before taking off to head to this Island called the Defenders of the Wing. Once Dagur and Heather were out of our sights Hiccup called Toothless over to him. "Hey Bud, want to go on a flight." I giggled when Toothless jumped around in a circle like an overly excited kid on Christmas day.
"Alright calm down. Calm down." Hiccup said to Toothless. Once Toothless had calmed down enough for Hiccup hop on, he motioned for me to hop on behind him. "Hold on M'Lady." He told me so, I did.
Hiccup's Pov:
"Hold on M'Lady," I told her before we took off into the air. When we took off, I heard Astrid squeak out in surprise which bought a smile to my face at the memory from the last time we did this. But at least she is not screaming this time around. We had been flying for about 10 minutes when Astrid said, "I forgot what it is like to have the wind in your hair. I could do this every day."
"Well, why don't you," I said. "What do you mean?" She asked.
"Well, I could teach you to train your own dragon and then you can fly every day," I explained to her. "I think I would like that Hiccup. But what about the other teens?" She asked. "I am sure I can teach them as well. But I will have to fly to the Edge, later on, to get some dragons as I know you don't have any dragons here after I freed them once I left here." I said. "But what about your Father? Aren't you going to ask if you can bring dragons here to Berk?"
"It is not like he can stop me, Astrid," I said. "Actually, he can he is the Chief." She said. "But if he wants me to stay then he will let me do what I want," I explained to her. I felt her shrug her shoulders in agreement. "Hiccup can I ask you a question?" She asked me after a couple of minutes of silence. "Yeah sure, you know you can ask me anything, Astrid." I told her "Who are Dragon trappers and Dragon Hunters?"
"They are no one, Astrid. Just people from my past. That I don't wish to talk about" I said. Then the conversation ended.
It was half an hour later when we had arrived back at the Healers house. I helped Astrid off Toothless then I noticed that Bluey was lying down beside Sunset. Obviously, Mum had come down to the Village to get Bluey after we left. I patted Bluey and Sunset on my way pass to the door before heading into the house after Astrid. When I walked in, I found Mum and Dad sitting on either side of Thalia. "How is she?" I asked them.
"Just is alright, she has woken up a couple of times asking for you but then she would just go back to sleep," Mum said. I walked over to them and took Mums spot on the bed when she stood up and went to stand beside Dad. Astrid ended up taking my Dad's spot on the bed as he stood up to give us some space. "Daddy." My daughter said in a raspy voice.
"Hey, Kiddo," I said poking her nose and causing her to giggle. I moved to I was sitting up against the headboard near her head. I helped her sit up in the bed, so she was leaning against me and I then wrapped my arm around her to pull her closer to me. "How was your flight son?" Mum asked me. "It was awesome. It was good to get back up in the air again. Toothless enjoyed himself." I said with a smile on my face.
"Son. Can you explain how you have a daughter?" Dad asked me. I took a deep breath before looking down at my daughter. "A month after I left here Toothless and I had found a girl around my age who had washed up on my island that I have been living on. I then took her back to our camp and nurse her back to health.
I found out her name was Hannah and that she also had run away from her Island." I looked up at my Dad then carried on. "We became bests friends. Then three years ago I had asked her to marry me and she did. It was a big wedding and it lasted for days." I said with a smile on my face.
"Then a month later we found out she was pregnant. Hannah and I were so excited that we were going to be parents to our first child." I said but couldn't bring my eyes to look at my parents or even at Astrid. I just kept my eyes on my daughter as I pushed some hair out of her face. "8 months later Hannah gave birth to our beautiful girl."
"If you are married now then why do you want to marry Astrid then," Dad asked me. "A month after Hannah gave birth to Thalia, she became extremely ill. We tried everything to heal her, but nothing worked, and she ended up passing away." Mum said finishing the story for me. When I looked up, I saw tears in Astrid's eyes and my Father also was showing signs of sadness on his face.
"What is her full name?" Dad asked my gesturing to Thalia. "Her name is Thalia Asta Haddock," I said to him. "I am so sorry for your lost son," Dad said while looking down. "Daddy, who are they?" Thalia asked me while pointing at Astrid and at my Father. "Well this," while pointing at my Father, "Is your Grandfather. My Dad. And this is Astrid." I said to my daughter.
Thalia moved out of my arms and out of bed then she walked over the bed towards my Father. When she got to the edge of the bed, she held her arms out as to signal that she wanted to be picked up. Dad picked her up and I watched as my daughter cuddle in with her Grandfather. I turned to look at Astrid and saw her smiling at the picture of my Father and my Daughter together.
"Right young lady. You better hop back into bed so you can try and sleep this fever off." Dad said to Thalia as he put her back onto the bed. Thalia walked back over to me and climbed back under the covers as Astrid placed the cold cloth back on her forehead.
"Where did you put bubbles?" I asked my daughter as I could not see where her stuff dragon toy that she calls bubbles anywhere. "Don't have him. Bubbles is at home." She said. "Who is bubbles?" Astrid askes her. "He is my dragon toy." She said. Astrid looks to me for a better answer. "Bubbles is a soft dragon toy that was given to her when she was born, and she doesn't normally sleep without. But it looks like they left it home on the Edge." I explained to her. "I want Bubbles Daddy." Thalia moaned. "Sorry Baby but he is back at the Edge. I have to go back to the Edge, later on, to get a few things so I will grab Bubbles why I at it. Alright?" I told her. She nodded as she cuddles into my side. "I will be right back," Astrid said as she stood from the bed and walked out the door. I watched her leave and was confused about where she was going.
20 minutes later Astrid had come back with something in her hands. She walked over to the bed and sat back down where she was before she left. "This is my stuff dragon toy that I had when I was your age and her name is Thora. I know it is not Bubbles. But until Bubbles can get here would you like Thora to keep you company?" Astrid asked Thali as she holds the dragon toy out to Thali. Thali nods her head then takes the toy from Astrid. "What do you say to Astrid missy," I said.
"Thank you, Astrid," Thali says thanking Astrid. Astrid smiles at her. "Son we need to let the Village know that your Mother is alive and that you have a daughter," Dad said. I sighed knowing he was right. "I know Dad but can we do it once I get back from the Edge.
I have grabbed a few things and need to check up making sure everything is alright." I answered. "Alright, son. That is fine." Dad said before leaving the Healers house to go back to do some Chiefing jobs.
