A/N: Hello peeps! Here is Chapter 19 for you all! As always, go to Chapter 1 for disclaimers. Without further or do, here is Chapter 19.

Chapter 19: Pain and Comfort

The next day Chaka woke up early for a start. He looked around to see that everyone was still sleeping. He looked to his left and saw Kopa and Kali sleeping sound right beside him. He then looked to his right and saw Aisha and Penda sleeping sound beside him. He also saw Penda's mother and step-father sleeping beside Penda as well to his right. Being careful not to wake up anyone in his family, Chaka got up slowly and walked out of the cave. As he got out, he saw that the sky was still dark. He went to the promontory of Pride Rock to feel the cold air go through his light brown coat. He knew that the sun was going to come up at some point. After a moment he heard a sleepy voice say, "Chaka?"

As Chaka was about to head to the watering hole to get a drink, his mother's sleepy voice reached his ears. He looked around and smiled at his mother when he saw her. "Hey, mom," he said with a smile.

"What are you doing up so early?" Nala asked as she slowly walked over to her oldest son.

"I just want to look at the view of the Pride Lands again," Chaka explained. "I've always done this before I lost my memories. And now that I have all of my memories back I can watch the sunrise again. It's been my thing since I came back a year and ten months ago." Chaka returned to the Pride Lands a year and ten months ago after being away for a while.

"I'm glad that you're here Chaka," Nala said softly, laying her head more comfortably in her son's jet black mane and closing her eyes in relief. This was a joy for Nala when he came back. For a year and six months, she thought he was dead, only to be safe and sound with his older half-brother, Damu. "You have no idea how much this means to me Chaka..."

"Your right," Chaka said. "I don't. I have no idea how it feels to lose a child whose only living for his first six months in life. But it's alright. Everything is ok now mom."

"N-No it's not okay..." Nala stammered, her body shaking. This made Chaka confused.

"Why isn't it okay mom?" Chaka asked, still confused. Chaka had no idea why his mother had started becoming emotional, but he hoped that he hadn't said anything to cause her distress. If he did, then he would apologize to his mother for his comment.

"Y-You don't understand Chaka..." Nala said, her voice shaky, unstable, and also finding herself choking on her own words as some tears escaped her eyes as her body was still shaking.

"W-We missed you so much Chaka..." Nala continued, her voice still shaky. "Your brother, me... I-I should have just disobeyed your father and take you w-with your brother on my s-search for help... but I-I didn't... and i-it's all my fault f-f-for not p-p-protecting you b-b-better..." Nala then took a shaky breath as she also had a difficult time breathing as well. Chaka felt some tears form in his eyes when his mother told him this. He then received a flashback that he remembered the last time seeing his mother when he was only a month old. As the flashback ended, Chaka wished he could kill his father for what he's done to his mother. Scar caused his mother pain by taking him away from her.

"I'm so sorry for not protecting you better Chaka," Nala sobbed, burying her face in Chaka's black mane. "I failed you. I failed as a mother to you." With that Nala broke down into tears. Chaka hasn't seen his mother break down ever. Neither has Kopa. Nala just couldn't take it anymore. The pain in her heart that she was told that Chaka was dead, shattered her. And he's alive now and his presence next to her was her own doing. Chaka closed his eyes and let some tears escape his eyes as his mother's cries were making him feel terrible. He then rested his head on top of his mother's, hoping that the small gesture would work. He also gently rubbed his mother's back as he did so.

"Oh mom," Chaka said as tears rolled down his face, gently rubbing his mother's back. "I never blamed you for any of this. The one I blame is my father Scar. He was the one that tore us apart in the first place. He's the reason why I left the Pride Lands with Damu. You had nothing to do with this. I still loved you mom when I was still living here during Scar's reign. I still love you, mom. Yes, you may not have been there for me when I needed you the most, but you also wanted my brother to be alive too. So I accepted it. But I still knew you always loved me because Damu and Kopa would always tell me. I may have had to suffer under my father's horrendous lessons, but at least I was still able to escape it with Damu. And I'm very sorry that you felt the way you did when I wasn't here. But I'm here now. I'm not dead." Chaka felt absolutely terrible that his mother felt the way she did when she thought he was dead. Now that he thought about it, his brother must have felt the same way as well. "Please.. don't cry, mom... I hate seeing you like this..." Upon hearing Chaka's words, Nala took several deep breaths to control her weeping. She was able to control her weeping as she exhaled and removed her head from its place underneath so that she can look at her son.

"You don't have to miss me any more mom," Chaka said with a smile, wiping his eyes with his paw. The Queen smiled a small smile when she heard her oldest son say this, as she finally had her weeping under control. Chaka did his best not to laugh like a cub when his mother leaned forward a little and licked him across his cheek, before allowing her head to rest against his shoulder.

"So," Nala said after a few minutes, feeling better. "What do you think?"

"Think about what?" Chaka asked, confused.

"What do you think about your sisters?" Nala asked. She knew that she should have asked this a long time ago, but she couldn't approach him at the time because she was still a bit scared to approach him.

"I love them," Chaka said with a smile. "They're very sweet and gentle. They're even playful despite their age. I love them to death and I wished I came to see Kiara's presentation and came back much sooner." As Nala heard her son say this, she couldn't help but smile. Her daughters were getting along just fine with their older half-brother. Chaka then licked his mother's cheek, causing her to laugh. After a while of sitting, the sun was finally showing, and the sky was becoming lighter.

"Do you want to join me going for a drink to the watering hole?" Chaka asked. "I'm gonna go for a quick drink then catch up with Aisha." Nala nodded and the mother and son headed down Pride Rock to go to the watering hole to get a quick drink. As they were heading down, Kopa had woken up along with Aisha and Kali, who had smiles on their face.

"Ah I'm just glad that mom and Chaka are able to have such a happy moment together," Kopa said with a smile.

"I agree," Kali said. "It may have hurt them not being together for a while but that's all in the past. Their together again and they are happy."

"Yes," Aisha agreed. "But we should go take a walk. I really wanna test my walking before my baby is due."

"Well then let's go," Kopa said. With that, the three siblings went down the side of Pride Rock to take a nice walk together and to interact with each other.

A/N: Well not much in this chapter... besides the tender moment with Nala and Chaka.

I hope you guys liked the Nala and Chaka moment. I really should have put this in the first installment, but I decided to put it here since it's my story and I have rights. So that's why this wasn't in the first installment.

And yes, 6 chapters in one day today. And 14 chapters in total in 3 days! How amazing is that?! I have so much free time in my hands and I'm able to get this finished pretty soon than later!

Anyways, that's it for Chapter 19. Just to spoil that Aisha, Kali, Kopa, and Chaka's cubs will be born in the next chapter. Anyways, see you all later in Chapter 20 and stay safe!
