Chapter 17: Power Enhancement
"Hey big brother! Where you at?" Zoey and Jenna, having just walked into Tommy's house, started looking around the living room. "Please don't make us come look for you." Putting Kit down, the little fox took off upstairs to head to her room.
"Should we go downstairs?" Jenna asked, poking at picture frames on the mantel.
"Yeah, he may be in the lab." Before she could turn, Zoey's eyes were caught by something Jenna was playing with on top of the fireplace.
"Hey, where did you get that?" Turning, Jenna held up the purple stone in her hand.
"It was up here next to these pictures. There's a pink one too." Pausing, she looked at her friend, "They look like those gems Tommy found and was doing research on."
"Yeah, but there's five of them. Red, blue, yellow, black, and white. He has three of them down in the lab." Zoey saw the pink one and picked it up, studying. "Maybe they're just replicas." Before putting the gem down, she saw flashes of creatures long dead. "Whoa."
"Tell me I'm not hallucinating, and you saw that too?" Jenna asked, a shocked look on her face.
"Are you asking if I just saw images of mammals that died 65 million years ago?" Jenna nodded, "Then yes. Yes, I did."
"Why did we just see that?"
"You shouldn't have." Turning, they saw Tommy and Hayley standing in the doorway, looking at the now glowing gems.
"Tommy, those gems were dead." His companion commented looking at him.
"Look, bro," Zoey started to walk over, "we just picked them up. We didn't do anything to them." Shaking her head, she looked down at the gem. "I thought there were only five."
"Actually, there were nine. You're both holding two." He responded.
"Two?" Jenna questioned coming over, "How?" Holding up the gem to the light, she stopped, "Wait. The gem is purple, but there are silver specks in it."
Zoey follow her example and held up the gem, "Hey, this is the same. A pink gem with gold specks." She cocked her head and looked at her brother, "How did that happen."
"These four gems were the only ones that held no power. Every test we threw at them, there was nothing. No connection to dinosaurs. No energy source. Nothing." He held out his hand for Zoey's gem. Holding it up, he did his own study, "They were locked up on a different part of the compound, away from the labs. When the island exploded, we think there was a form of absorption on a molecular level that bonded them together." He handed the gem back to his sister, "We tested them afterwards, but there was still nothing."
"But now that they're glowing, and you saw something when you picked them up, we're gonna need to retest them." Hayley said, looking at the girls, "You too."
"Us?" Looking shocked, Jenna crossed her arms, "Why do we need to be tested?"
"It is our belief that the gems have the ability for DNA remolecularizing," Tommy said, putting his hand on her shoulder, "If you saw something, and they only came to life when you picked them up, then there's the possibility that they bonded to you."
"And you need to test us to be sure." Jenna said, patting his hand. Before anyone could say anything else, Tommy curse out loud, jerking his hand away from her. "What the hell?"
Looking down, a layer of frost covered Tommy's hand. Shaking his hand, Tommy ran into the kitchen to run hot water over it. "What just happened?" Jenna asked as the girls ran in to see if he was ok.
"I think we can safely say that the gems have definitely bonded with you." Hayley said, coming in with a first aid kit. "Looks like it has given you the ability of cryokinetic manipulation."
"I already knew I could control Ice." Jenna said, looking confused.
"It seems that the gem has amplified that. It probably connected with both your spirit animal, as it's an artic creature, and your ice ninja powers." Tommy said, leaning against the sink. "The question now, is if it's your only ability."
"Why wouldn't it be?"
"You're holding two gems into one. So which gem gave you the power over frost? And what power, if any, will the other gem give you?"
"Great." Jenna looked over at Zoey, "We may need to call Sensei. Let him know that we may not be back for a few days."
Nodding, Zoey stepped away to contact Ninja Ops.
"Sensei said he will call us if there is an emergency." Zoey said, walking back in . When she reached for the refrigerator, a blast of light exploded for her hands and blew a hole in the appliance.
"Oh, my God!" Screaming, everyone ducked to avoid any debris falling. When it was clear, Zoey looked at her hand, panicking. A shimmer of light was webbed between her fingers.
"Um, luminescent manipulation?" Hayley asked, looking at Tommy. "Or was that pyrokinetic?"
"Not sure. Maybe both." Tommy walked over to sister and squatted in front of her. "Hey, we're gonna figure this out."
With tears in her eyes she looked up, "How can I ever do anything normal again? I am gonna hurt people. I can't hurt people, Tommy. I'm a freaking Power Ranger."
"I need you to calm down, ok." He grabbed her hand when she tried to jerk away. "I know you. I know what you can do. You and Jenna both. You girls have always been unstoppable in everything you do." He gently pulled her and hugged her. "I know, that you two can get control of this. You can do anything. And we will be there every step of the way." He grabbed her by the sides of the head so he can wipe the tears from her face. "No matter, what." Looking over at Jenna, he noticed that she too was crying and being consoled by Hayley. "Want me to call Jason?" When she nodded, he grinned. "Hunter?"
"No. Not Hunter. He needs to focus in case of a monster attack."
1-2-3-4-5
A few hours, and quit a few tests later, Jason Scott walked down to Tommy's lab. One look at his sister's face, he walked right over to give her a hug. "What did I tell you?" He said with a grin, "Never touch something in a scientist's house. You never know what's going to happen." He leaned back to look at her, "Scared the crap out of me the first time that damn trap door opened." Shaking his head, he said, "Don't get me started on Billy's house."
Laughing, Jenna pulled away and back down next to Zoey. "After a few tests we've just been meditating. Trying to treat it like we do our ninja powers and our Pai Zhuq training."
"It's been determined that the two gems, the purple and silver one, gave her the power of cryokinetic manipulation and telekinesis." Hayley explained from the computers.
"Layman's terms." He said, rolling his eyes.
"The gems, which one was absorbed by the other, gave me two different powers. One tapped into my ninja powers and accelerated my ability to control ice. By like 1,000." She explained. Continuing before he could cut in, "That's the cryokinetic manipulation. The other, is basic telekinesis. The ability to move objects with my mind."
Breathing a sigh of resignation, Jason looked over at Zoey. "What about you? They said there were four gems that melded in to two, right? So, you got two separate powers as well?" He frowned at the other girl, whom he considered his second sister, when she hesitated to answer.
"I have the power of lumokinesis; the ability to manipulate light, and lygokinesis; the ability to manipulate energy." She explained.
Hayley looked around, "It's either lygokinesis or seismokinesis; the ability to generate seismic blasts." She got up and came over to them, "It may be a little of both. You see, we think the light manipulation could be a manifestation of her fire ninja powers. But the energy is a little different. We can't tell yet, but we think it's the ability to take the energy and create a controlled blast with them."
Look at the Pink Ranger, he sat down to give her a hug. "I know this is scary for you. Hell, I'm scared, and it's not even happening to me. But I know you. I know you as well as I know Jenna. And what you two have accomplished in your life astounds me." He grinned, "And I was a Power Ranger. I've seen some stuff." He paused, "But I believe that the two of you can get control of this. You two will master this just as you mastered High School, Ninja Powers, Pai Zhuq training, and having brothers who are just awesome."
Laughing, the girls just shook their head at him. "You and Tommy are so alike it's scary. He said the exact same think. Minus the awesome part."
"That's because I'm not vain." Tommy said, coming into the lab, "You know, like some people who name a dojo after their second zord."
"Come on man, you know you want to name one The White Tiger Dojo." Jason said, getting up to do their brotherly high-five. "Or the White Falcon Dojo. I won't let you do the Green Dragon Dojo. That's too close to ours."
"What's it matter if it's called the Red Dragon Dojo? All of you own the franchise anyways." Hayley said incredulously.
"Can we get back on topic? Please?" Zoey asked.
"Ok, so I just got off the phone with Billy." Tommy said coming to the girls, "Now, you can go to Angel Grove for a couple of days and stay at the Command Center for more testing, but he believes the same as we do," he pointed to him and Hayley, "that the best thing for you would be more meditation and practice."
"Lots and lots of practice." Jason said with a grin.
"Correct. Now, something Andros has that we don't is a Simu-Deck." Realization crossed over everyone's faces. "Now, he has invited us to the ship, but I thought we'd wait a day, maybe two. Get some more meditation in and try and practice here in the woods. He does have a teleportation system, so if your team needs you, we can get you there quickly."
Sighing with relief, the girls nodded.
"I'll call Sensei back. Kind of give him a brief rundown of what's going on and that we will be able to get there if the team needs us." Zoey said, getting up.
"Jenna, here's your morpher back." Hayley handed the young Ranger a silver cuff with Japanese script engraved on the sides, "It's identical to Zoey's, only with your identifiers on it. It had no problem merging with your morpher."
Looking down at it, Jenna noticed that the Japanese work for "Ice" was engraved on one side and "Wolf" on the other. The center of the cuff had a black disk with the purple Winter Academy symbol on the top of it.
"Sweetness!" She grinned, putting it on her wrist, "I was really uncomfortable wearing that thing on my wrist." She turned to her brother, "Jason, how long are you staying?"
"A couple of days." He explained, "I've already got it worked out with Emily, Rocky, and Adam. Everything is covered."
"Well, Emily has the Youth Center, and Rocky has the Dojo covered. Why do you have anything with Adam worked out?" She asked, curiously.
"I was going to help out at the Sports Center this week. So, he needed to get someone else to over it." He looked over at Tommy lamely, "We have got to stop buying things man. I get so confused on what we own something, I start mixing them up."
Laughing, Tommy held up his hand. "Hey, I'm only a silent partner in our little empire. Ok?" He pointed a finger at Jason, and continued, "How do you get things confused? Yes, we all own them. But it's not hard to remember who runs what."
"Start at the front of the list. You run the Dojo. Emily co-runs the Youth Center and with Rocky." Jenna chimed in, ticking of the list on her fingers. "Rocky owns Ape Man's, which includes catering and multiple food trucks."
Zoey interrupted, coming back down, "Let's not include everyone's solo gigs. We'll be here all day."
Laughing, Jenna continued, "Zack co-runs the studio with Tanya. Billy runs the command center."
Interjecting again, Zoey held up a hand, "And let's not get started on Billy's Millions, shall we."
Nodding, Jenna kept going, "Trini runs the Little Angels Orphanage. Kimberly and Katherine run the Flying Crane Studio and Gym."
"Aisha runs the Wildlife Park and research clinic. Really hope she gets the grant for the marine lab. I think a mini marine wildlife rescue park would be awesome." Zoey said, continuing the list. "Adam runs the sports center. Justin stays busy being a boy genius getting another PhD, while helping out in the various business and Command Center."
"Angela runs the AG Hotel and Resort... " Jenna interjected.
"The resort belongs to Bulk." Jason protested.
"Yes, but who gave him the capital to get it started? Who is still listed as a silent partner? Not to mention AG Tours; ground, water, and air. Which Skull oversees, working out of the Hotel."
Pausing, she looked at her brother's best friend, "And Tommy's," Jenna looked at the gems on the console, "well, Tommy's being Tommy and staying out of Angel Grove. I think he hopes that the Morphing Gods will leave him alone."
Seeing her brother nodding, Zoey smirked, "$20 says these gems are going to bite him in the ass. Especially since someone already blew up the island he was on trying to get to them." She walked over and looped her arm through Jason's, "I give it a year. Maybe 18 months. He'll be back in spandex."
"That's not funny." Her brother looked horrified at the thought, "Don't say stuff like that. They can hear you." Looking up, he yelled, "She was kidding!"
"You and your Morphing Gods." Hayley said, shaking her head. She turned back to the computers, oblivious to the wide eyed looks she was receiving.
"Um, Hayley. We've been friends for awhile now." Jason said, shakily, "And I like to think you know everything there is to know about the Rangers. So please, don't mock the Morphing Gods. We all believe in them and would really not like to chance it."
Hayley just grinned. She knew alright. That's why she messed with them. It's not like she didn't believe them, she did. But she's a scientist. She needed proof. That didn't mean she didn't respect their belief, though.
"Are you okay?" Jenna asked, looking over at Zoey.
"Yeah, just tired."
"More nightmares?"
"I don't know if you can call them nightmares, Jenna. They're waking dreams. And they feel so real."
"You're having Waking Dreams?" Tommy asked, looking at his sister, "For how long?"
"A week." She replied, looking really tired. "It started the day after Cam became the Green Samurai Ranger. I was running at the beach. I felt this sharp pain shoot through my head. I stopped running so I could close my eyes and try to refocus. But when I opened them, I wasn't at the beach anymore. I was standing in the middle of this field. It looked like a battle scene from Lord of the Rings. There was swords clashing, magics flying around, and monsters everywhere." She paused for a moment, knowing everyone's eyes were on here. "It's like I was there, seeing it, but I wasn't. Does that make sense?"
Her brother just nodded and sat beside her on the couch, gesturing for her to continue. "This bat-looking monster came flying at me, out of nowhere. I started to scream, but she went right through me. I was so confused. And got even more so when this light shot from the sky and crash landed behind me. When the brightness faded, I saw this ethereal looking 9-tailed Kitsune." She smiled, "Holy Zordon. She was beautiful. Pale and Iridescent. Crystalline, almost. Then she took off into the woods. I followed her."
"You followed her?" Wide-eyed, Jason looked at Tommy, "Didn't we teach them anything?"
Laughing at his friend, Tommy pointed, "Quit interrupting."
"Anyways," Zoey said, shaking her head, "We got to a small clearing. It was like a canopy of trees were protecting the area or something. Next thing I know, this guy comes running into the clearing. He was out of breath and looking over his shoulder like he was running from something." She held her arms over chest, "He was carrying a couple of babies wrapped in blankets. Then, out of nowhere, this blast sends him flying. You know he was a trained fighter. He was able to guide how he landed in order to protect the babies. Then this creature came forward and demanded the other guy to hand them over. I'm guessing the babies. The good guy, I'm assuming he was the good one, laid them down and put on similar armor to the other guy, and they started fighting."
Stopping for a moment, she accept the glass of water that Jenna brought over to her. "I didn't know they were babies at first. When they started fighting, I walked over, and saw what they were. One was in a red blanket and the other in a pink and purple blanket that had sun and moon symbols all over it. Then the Kitsune walked over. She looked down at the babies and turned herself into this ball of energy. In the middle was this crystal-looking star. It descended down and laid itself on the baby with the sun and moon blanket. Then a blast behind us blinded me, and I was back at the beach." Shrugging, she took a drink. "I told Sensei, in confidence. He says that you can learn a lot from your dreams. That maybe it's trying to tell me something."
Jenna scoffed, "It needs to speak louder," she said with a grin, "it's confusing as hell."
"Maybe. We can discuss it more later. Let's get to meditating." Tommy said, standing up.
"Wait." Zoey stood, and put a hand on his arm. "There's more." She pulled the chain out of her shirt and showed the pendant to Tommy and Jason. "Remember?"
"You had this when our parents adopted you." He held it for a moment, and looked at her, "Is this the same one from the dream?"
"Yes. The exact same one." She held it out to Hayley to look at, "Right down to the points, the color, and the mini sun and moon symbol in the center. Everything is the same." Taking it back she looked down at it, "You know me. You know how long I have looked for someone to tell me about this damn necklace. Where it came from. Where it was made. Who could have bought it? And everybody tells me the same thing. It's a custom one of a kind piece. Nobody can find another like it. Anywhere." She tucked it back in her shirt. "I think what the dream is trying to tell me, is that I was that little baby."
Hearing their morphers beeped the girls looked at their wrist, "Crap!"
"Go for Jenna."
"Jenna. I know you two are busy, but the Rangers need your help. Dustin and Tori and been taken and turned into perfume bottles." Sensei said, urgently. "They need your help."
"Perfume bottles? Seriously? Ok, we'll be right there."
The girls look up at the others, "We'll be back. Promise." Zoey said, hugging her brother.
"We'll be here."
1-2-3-4-5
The girls arrived just in time to see Shane, Hunter and Blake running to an abandoned factory.
"Guys!"
"Hey you two. I thought Sensei wasn't going to call you?" Hunter asked, hugging his girlfriend.
"He said Dustin and Tori were turned into perfume bottles and asked for help." Zoey said, slapping Hunter on the shoulder, "No PDA in uniform."
Laughing Shane gestured them forward. "It's this way."
"Are you sure?" Hunter frowned, looking around.
"Yeah, this place is like a ghost town," Jenna said, listening.
Shane grinned, and clapped Blake on the shoulder. "When in doubt, follow your nose," He tapped his nose, and they all looked up at the sign, which had a giant nose on it.
They rolled their eyes. "Seriously? And they wonder why we make fun of them." Zoey said, shaking her head.
Everyone followed the Red Ranger inside a circular door. The inside was filled with strange devices and liquids in jars.
"Looks like some crazy lab," Blake commented. Jenna slapped his hand as he went to reach for a beaker.
"Don't touch things that belong to a scientist. Trust me. It never turns out well."
"This is weird," Shane muttered as they all looked around curiously.
"Guys, I'm here to help," Cam ran in suddenly, gasping for breath and wearing his Ninja Gear.
"Forget it," Hunter said, "We don't want your help."
"Yeah. Too little, too late." Blake agreed, arms crossed.
The girls couldn't believe what they were hearing, "What is wrong with you?" Jenna demanded. "You don't treat a fellow ranger that way."
"Unless it's Cole." Zoey said with a smirk, making the Ice Ninja nod.
"Hey!" they all jumped and spun around to see another Cam, this one wearing green motocross gear and a beanie. "Dudes, why'd you bail on me like that?" he demanded, looking hurt.
"What?"
"Um, excuse me." Jenna said, raising her hand, "What's going on."
"Either Cam has a twin we didn't know about, or he's been cloned." Zoey said, looking grim. The one in the Ninja gear shook his head.
"Hey!" The Cam in the hat grinned as he noticed his double, and walked over to him.
"Oh, man, not another clone story," Shane groaned. "Didn't we already do this?" he asked and received four blank looks in response.
Zoey looked at Jenna, "Interesting. The bad guys don't usually do that. They're starting to repeat themselves."
"Hey, Shane man. It's all good!" Beanie Boy approached the Red Ranger, who forced him into an arm lock and pushed him forward, then flipped him.
The other Cam protested, "He's not a clone," he told Shane, who frowned and pulled the double up.
"Dude, that was way harsh," he complained.
"He's a virtual replicant. I created him to help out at Ninja Ops," Cam explained. "But, it kinda got out of control," he said, staring at his duplicate.
"Yeah, sorry about the whole, tying you up in the closet, thing bro. Guess I got a little overexcited," the replicant apologized, looking a little sheepish.
"I can fix that," Cam frowned, and pressed a couple of buttons on a remote in his hand. The copy disappeared.
"Well, that's a relief," Jenna smiled, "one genius on this team is enough."
They all spun around when the monster flipped into view, "You annoying children! You found my olfactory factory!" she yelled at them angrily.
"Just to bring you three up to speed," Shane told them, "She's got Tori and Dustin.
"And turned them into perfume," Blake said, as they nodded.
"And now for you to join them!" she fired a blast of dark energy at them, and they dove out of the way.
"NINJA STORM!"
"FIRE STORM!"
"ICE STORM!"
"THUNDER STORM!"
"SAMURAI STORM!"
"RANGER FORM, HA!"
"Cyclone morpher, full power!" Cam called on the Samurai Amulet's full power as the others drew their weapons, and they all ran at the monster. She fought them off with a sword of her own, before blasting them again.
"You guys keep her busy," Shane suggested. "Zoey and I will go look for the others," they nodded, and Shane and Zoey took off to look for their friends.
"Now, where are they?" Shane asked.
"Why are you asking me?" She demanded, when she saw a big wood door "Let's try in here."
"It's worth a shot." He said, following her into a room full of shelves.
"Shane! Zoey! Help us!" Dustin's voice cried out, with Tori echoing him.
"Don't worry, guys." Zoey said, "We'll find you." They started picking up different bottles off the table. "Not the green one!" She looked up as Shane had just picked up a bottle with green liquid inside.
"Hello?" He put it down and picked up another, "Anybody in there?"
"Come on, Shane!" Dustin's voice called out again, "We're over here!"
"Help us get out!"
"We hear you Tori! We'll find you; I promise." Zoey said as she and Shane were walking around the lab picking up multiple bottles.
"Man, this could take forever!" Shane complained, putting his hands on his head.
"Patience. We will find them." Shaking her head, she slapped him on the back of his, "Quit panicking and keep looking."
Next thing they know, multiple blast came in from outside where the fight was, knocking them off their feet. They heard yells but were more concerned with finding their friends.
"Look!" Shane yelled picking up a glass container. It had different colored bottles in there, but you can hear the Yellow and Blue Ranger's voices coming in from inside.
They heard the monster mocking the others outside.
"Oh, was the Red and Pink Ranger in there? Oh, so sorry!" she said, not sounding very apologetic.
"Yeah, you're gonna be!" Shane yelled as he emerged, carrying a case under one arm. "We found them! Back off!" he blasted her with his Hawk Blaster as the others got to their feet, and she crashed to the ground. Shane set the perfume bottles down and different colored smoke rose releasing all the victims.
"Good job," Cam nodded.
"Thanks," Shane grinned up at him, and lifted the last two bottles. "Good thing they're color coded," he laughed, and released Tori and Dustin from their prisons. They crashed to the ground, disorientated. "You guys ok?" Shane asked as they were helped up.
"How dare you steal my scents!" the monster shrieked angrily.
"Seriously, what's with the fake accent?" Zoey asked. The monster let out a cry and ran at them, kicking Cam out of the way before taking out the others just as easily.
"Enough!" Cam yelled. "You picked the wrong Green Ranger to mess with!" he growled. "Activate, Super Samurai mode!" Cam threw off his vest, which slammed to the ground and cracked it, as he spun the top half of his helmet around and drew his sabre.
"Did anyone know he could do that?" Jenna asked, impressed.
"Big deal, a sword," the villain scoffed.
"Excuse me, but it's a sabre," Cam corrected her. "A Samurai sabre," he tossed the sheath aside as he held the blade in the air. He then ran at her, dodging her attacks and landing blows of his own.
"Go Cam!" Tori cheered as he leapt into the air. He cut down and kicked her out of the factory. "Samurai Sabre, activate!" with one final, powerful blow, he destroyed her. They all ran outside to join him.
"I'm impressed, Samurai Boy." Zoey said, patting him on the shoulder.
Before he could respond, the monster reappeared above them, and they leapt back to avoid being stomped on.
"Samurai Star Megazord!" Cam called on his Megazord, leaping into it and leaving the others to watch as he blasted her over and over again, before switching to the Megazord form.
"I am the star here!" the monster got back up but was overwhelmed by his powerful strikes.
"Come on guys, let's give him some backup!" the others called on their own Zords, and attacked. The Wind Megazord attacked in their Lightning Mode and called on their Ramp Attack. They rolled down the ramp and slammed into the monster as Cam called on a Power Disk, which held his Bee Spinner. He slammed it into her, and she cried out before crashing to the ground, defeated.
1-2-3-4-5
In the Simu-Deck of the Astro Megaship, Zoey was shooting beams of light out of her hands, destroying holograms of puttys. Stopping for a moment, she had thought. "Hey guys. Can you figure out how to get some reflective light in here?"
"Someone want to explain that question?" Jason asked, confused. Jenna, using telekinesis to juggle 5 balls in the air, laughed at him.
Holding up his hand, Tommy asked her, "You want to see if you can bend the light around you, instead of shooting blasts of light out of your hand." He quirked a brow, "Correct?"
"Exactly."
Andros walked over to a control panel. "You want natural surroundings to see if you can do more than just generate light but manipulate the light that is already around you." After pushing a few buttons, the battlefield became a park. Jason just shook his head in confusion.
"Perfect." The Pink Ranger smiled, "Give me a minute to see if I can actually do it, before you activate the minions."
She sat in the middle of the park and meditated. She focused on the power that she now possessed. She could feel it. The connection to her Ninja Powers. The fire. The heat. The light. The Spark. When she opened her eyes, she looked straight ahead, startling everyone in the room.
The color of her eyes had changed to various shades of pink with what looked like flecks of starlight in them. They didn't see anything other than Zoey. But their Zoey was no longer there.
"What's going on?" Jenna asked, not able to take her eyes off her friend.
"I don't know." Tommy put his hand on her shoulder to keep her there. "Let's treat this like she's a sleep walker. Let her come out of it." They kept watching and waiting. All of a sudden, a pink aura surrounded her. It came out and formed a little fox. It danced around her like it was alive. Before they knew it, the little fox had tripled in size. She was face to face with Zoey, staring into her eyes. The fox's tale stood up and fanned out, multiplying.
"Is that…?" Jason cocked his head looking at the scene in front of him. "Is that the, um, what was?"
"Kitsune." Jenna answered, not looking away.
"Right. Is that the same one from her waking dreams?"
"I think it is."
Zoey was standing the battle field again. Only this time, the battle was over. The destruction and carnage was everywhere. She didn't know why, but she started to cry. Almost as if she had lost her own home. She felt this heart wrenching pain come over her.
"I don't understand!" She yelled into the wind. "Why do you keep showing me this?" Shoving her hands into her hair, she growled in frustration. "Please?"
Sitting down in the dirt, she looked over when a young woman started walking through field, crying. She was holding a bundle of sticks in her arms, picking up another. It had some red gem at the end. Looking around, she walked on. Away from the devastation.
"No, wait!" She got up, ready to run after her, "Stop!" Breathing heavily, she just looked. And looked. "Please." Hearing a sound behind her, she turned around and saw the Kitsune. "You." Walking over to her, stopped, just staring. "Why?" She asked, "Why do you keep bringing me here?" Tears were just rolling down her face.
The star on her forehead glowed. Feeling a warmth coming from under her shirt. When she pulled out her necklace, the pendant was lit up. Looking up, she asked:
"Why?"
Cliffhanger! Longest chapter so far. Didn't mean to do that. Oh, well. I nearly had a panic attack. I stayed up late writing this chapter but didn't finish it. So, when I got back on, it was gone. Took me an hour to retrieve it. Let me know what you think. Good? Bad?
