Chapter 19:

Hallelujah

David has now walked far away from Summer and is now walking back and forth talking to himself. " She's wrong. I can't go back. What would it prove, anyway? It won't change anything. You can't change the past," said David, then he looked up at the stars and thought about his father again. But David felt betrayed. The promise his father made about being there for him, even in death, Chanticleer might have lied to David. " You said you'll always be there for me! But you're not. And it's because of me. It's my fault. It's my fault," said David as he bows his head down and started choking back tears, David has always believed that it was his own fault for his father's death and he's always believing that it is his own.

Then David looks back up at the stars and sees how many are twinkling but he still wonders if his father is up there watching over him. David then begins to walk away with his head down in shame. Meanwhile, Summer was walking out of Patch Of Heaven with her head down as well. Summer then stopped and looked back for a second and then she continued walking. Then we hear a male singer beginning to sing…

( Hallelujah by John Cale )

Male Singer: I heard there was a secret chord.

That David played and it pleased the Lord.

But you don't really care for music, do you?

David continues walking by himself until he steps into an impression. David looked down to see that he has stepped in the footprint made by a GirafftiaGriff. Then David began to have memories from his past. Stepping in the footprint reminded David of himself when he was a young colt, he stepped in his father's footprint and realized how small and young he is compared to his father. Back with Summer, Summer continues walking home but then she looked back at Patch Of Heaven with sadness in her eyes thinking about her old best friend.

Male Singer: It goes like this the fourth the fifth.

The minor fall the major lift.

The baffled king composing hallelujah.

Hallelujah

As David keeps walking, he sees that in the distance, two BovineGriffs, a father and son, were sitting down looking up at the beautiful stars. David remembers how he and his father used to be like that but it was all in the past. Not much later, David then begins to walk away again.

Male Singer: Baby I've been here before.

I know this room, I walked this floor.

I used to live alone before I knew you.

Summer was walking in a field until two butterflies appeared in front of her and frolicked together then Summer continues walking with her head down in sadness. But as Summer keeps heading home, she sees two FelineGriff kittens playing and pinning each other. Memories then began to come back to Summer as she remembers how she used to pin David when they were foals.

Male Singer: I've seen your flag on a Marble Arch.

Love is not a victory march.

It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah.

Hallelujah.

Hallelujah.

Hallelujah.

Hallelujah.

David looked back up at the stars once again but he then bows his head down in deep sadness thinking about his father. The memory of Chanticleer has been haunting David ever since he left his homeland. Meanwhile, Summer was at a pond drinking some water before continuing on. But drinking reminded Summer when she and David drink at a pond together and when they discovered their true bond. Summer looked back where she came from and was thinking about her friend being all alone and sad. So with some quick thinking, Summer has decided to head back to Patch Of Heaven and apologize to David.

Male Singer: All I ever learned from love, is how to fight someone who outdrew you.

It's not a cry you can hear at night.

It's not somebody who seen the light.

It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah.

As the last lyrics were sung, David stopped walking and sits letting out tears. Meanwhile, Summer sees Patch Of Heaven and begins to run to it to find David.

Male Singer: Hallelujah
