Tyvral
The training lightsabers of Ashoka and Tyvral clashed under Dev's watchful gaze. "Keep your guard up Tyvral. Ashoka attack him".
Ashoka's lightsaber shot forward like a snake past Tyvral's guard and it struck his chest. A burst of electricity shot from the blade and it knocked Tyvral flat on his back, his fur puffing out.
"That is why we have training lightsabers," commented Dev.
"You don't say," groaned Tyvral his fur floating as electricity flowed through it.
Ashoka began to laugh at Tyvral who glared at her.
The doors to the training room slid open and Shargo ducked inside. "Hello Padawans," he said warmly, blossoms of yellow on his green crest.
"Do we have a mission?" asked Dev.
"Indeed," rumbled Shargo. "We'll discuss it on the bridge".
The Jedi went to the bridge where the holotable projected a planet. Three figures studied the hologram, Admiral Soto, Captain Maw, and Commander Kart.
"Commander!" exclaimed Tyvral.
"Hey kid," said Kart grinning at them.
"Generals," said Maw standing at attention.
"At ease Maw," said Dev.
Maw relaxed slightly though he still stood straight.
"This is the planet of Wonporva, a separatist system," said Admiral Sato.
"Are we capturing the planet?" asked Ashoka.
"Yes," answered Maw.
"It's a small planet so it won't be a long campaign," said Admiral Sato.
"Sweet, sounds like it'll be easy," chimed Ashoka.
"Wrong," said Maw. He pressed a button on the holotable and it zoomed in to show a blockade in front of the planet. "We have to get past that first". It was small as far as blockades went only four separatist frigates, but still a blockade.
Ashoka grimaced, "Maybe I spoke too soon".
"Do you have a plan Admiral?" rumbled Shargo.
"We engage forward shields and approach in a straight line. Then we launch our bombers from behind the main ship that way they will not have far to fly," declared Admiral Sato.
"We got the Charger C-70 now, and the landing ship, our boys will be more than happy to take on those clankers," said Kart.
"Any disagreement?" asked Shargo looking over Tyvral, Ashoka, and Dev.
Dev flashed his former master a smile, "I've been waiting to try out that starfighter".
Tyvral elbowed him, "You'll probably crash in hanger".
Ashoka scoffed, "I'll blow away more than both of you".
"Probably by flying into their bridge," laughed Dev.
Tyvral laughed and fist-bumped Dev.
Ashoka smirked, "We'll see boys".
The alarm began to blare and clones sprinted through the ship to their stations. Admiral Sato's voice rang down the speakers, "Head to your battle stations, we are coming out of hyperspace!"
Tyvral sprinted through the halls and into the hanger. He stopped in his tracks, for he was mere inches from running into a trooper. V-19s and Y-wings lifted into the air and took off into space. The door opened behind him and Ashoka ran past him, "Plan on joining?"
Tyvral smirked and sprinted to his ship, a silver Aethersprite interceptor. Ashoka jumped into her ship, also an Aethersprite, and took off. "Let's show them how it's done R7". The astromech whirled as they took off into space.
Tyvral activated his ship and the cockpit closed around him. X9 whirled a greeting. Tyvral grinned, "Yeah let's show her buddy!"
As they darted into space a voice came over the coms, "Glad you two could join us," remarked Dev.
Tyvral overlooked the scene. The star destroyer commanded by Admiral Sato moved forward, the small support ships just behind it, and the fighters flanking the support ships.
"Will Shargo be out here?" asked Tyvral.
A deep voice came over the coms, "No I'm afraid not my apprentice," rumbled Shargo mournfully. Tyvral could picture the shades of blue seeping into his crest. "I cannot fit into a starfighter, however, I will assist as best I can from the bridge".
"Ah don't worry about us General," proclaimed Zip, "We'll blast those Sepies into stardust".
The tactical droid looked at the oncoming republic fleet, "Send out all fighters, and open fire on that cruiser!"
"Roger roger," echoed the battle droids. They began pressing their green screens.
Massive laser bolts struck the Jedi cruiser and it slowed slightly. "Divert power from the engines to the forward shields, and release the bombers. Fighters intercept those vulture droids!"
"With pleasure," said Ashoka.
A cloud of vulture droids zipped out of the banking clan frigates and darted towards them.
"Here we go," said Dev.
They opened fire and the ships swooped, bobbed, dove. Clones ships and droids were blasted and began floating, through the cold and empty space. Tyvral dove to avoid hitting a clone pilot's floating corpse and blasted a vulture droid. He banked slightly to avoid a vulture droid leg, and had wily pull up to avoid a massive blast from the separatist frigate. Bombers began to exit the cruiser and fly towards the separatist frigates.
Shargo peered at the battle, his crest a deep blue, and slowly closed his eyes. He sat down and crossed his legs. The clones and Admiral Sato stared at him incredulously, though Shargo paid them no mind. "Shad fly up".
The clone pilot pulled back his stick and the V-19 pull-up. The vulture droid that was about to strike his belly flew into the vulture droid chasing him.
"Char intercept to your right," rumbled Shargo.
The clone pilot swung right and blasted the vulture droid closing in on a bomber.
"Thanks, Char," said it's pilot.
"Anytime brother!" roared Char.
"Swor go down," said Shargo urgently.
The clone pilot banked his Y-wing down and the blast from the separatist frigate went over the Y-wing, briefly tinting his cockpit red. "Thank you, sir!"
"Pyr behind you!" rumbled Shargo.
"I can't shake him!" yelled Pyr.
The vulture droid blasted and the Y-wing exploded.
Shargo's crest flared an extremely dark blue, which was lined with black. The black slowly faded and Shargo let out a shaky exhale. "Dev-"
"Yeah I know!" yelled Dev. He bobbed and weaved dodging the blast of the two vulture droids that were behind him.
Tyvral sped through the debris and flew behind the chase. He blasted one and it's parts spun through space.
"Well that's half the problem," said Dev as he spun the vulture droid's blast just missing.
"I don't have a clean shot!" shouted Tyvral.
"Well do something!" shouted Dev.
The vulture droid fired and hit Dev's ship. His black paint job was scorched off and smoke began billowing from his ship.
Tyvral breathed deeply and held his finger over the blaster.
Green lasers fired and the vulture droid exploded its legs spiraling off into dead space. "Don't worry wolf boy, I got it," said Ashoka.
Tyvral muttered under his breath as he imagined the smirk on his face.
The bombers reached the lead separatist frigate and fired. The bright pink proton bombs rained down on the glass bridge, and the ship began to implode.
"Support ships, attack the right frigate. Bombers the left!" said Admiral Sato. "All batteries fire on the center frigate".
Dev swung his ship to left, blasting a vulture droid. He fell in behind a bomber and swooped to the side to blast a vulture droid that tried to kamikaze the bomber.
"Dev," rumbled Shargo his voice filled with concern for his former apprentice.
Dev grinned, "What! It's fine". A sensor began to rapidly flash red. Dev's grin vanished and his face blanched, "Uh oh". His starfighter bucked violently as one of its engine's blew out. Dev went into a freefall his ship spiraling towards the planet.
"DEV!" shouted Tyvral.
"Finish the battle then come get me!" shouted Dev.
"Dev!" shouted Tyvral as Dev's starfighter disappeared onto the planet below, a fading trail of smoke the only evidence that he had ever been there.
