Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Cloud Nine. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Ducktales, Disney and Jymn Magon do.
(Scrooge's Mansion)
Sam rolled out of bed, grunting as he rubbed at his temples. He sighed and patted the pillow on his bed.
"Sometimes I think Scrooge has the worst taste in pillows. He gets rocks for them." Sam muttered to himself as the former engineer cracked his neck and looked in the mirror as he walked across the room.
Sam didn't say anything as he looked at his appearance, he didn't look that horrible considering he had been living in a rundown apartment for years. Then again? He had shaved and such, he did at least try not to look like a hobo to his children.
Speaking of that, they were going on a trip to a tour or something. He struggled to recall what it was as he brushed his teeth.
This was also the day his wife decided to go and talk to Launchpad meaningfully. Sam would have laughed at how amusing it was that his wife was as jealous as she was years ago… if it didn't also remind him that he was still trying to patch up their marriage.
Della would never wish to go to therapy, and Sam really didn't want to shell out 200 bucks just to be told to do some stress tests and tell him something a blind man could tell him.
Sam and Scrooge both agreed that shrinks didn't really help people… though it was his opinion.
He grabbed his jacket and pulled it on, he really needed to get more clothes, Beakley was nice enough to get him a few pairs so he didn't spend all day in the same clothes that he had arrived in.
He walked towards the door after combing his hair, he would go and tour with his kids, but considering how they thought it was something they should handle alone.
Sam opened the door and stepped into the hallway, looking around at the other doors before he heard Della speaking.
"Ugh, I swear he's going to break it." Della muttered; Sam walked towards the main hallway.
He found his wife about to go outside as he chuckled and followed behind her. Sam knew for a fact Della was going to go and argue with Launchpad about who was a better pilot.
"Dell!" She didn't hear him, he sighed and started to follow after her, he had to go and talk some sense into his wife before she said something she didn't mean to say.
Sam walked outside and saw Della walking towards Launchpad. He bristled with amusement and followed after her again, she wasn't going to rip Launchpad apart just because she was jealous, he had become the pilot of the plane.
"Dell!" His voice a little louder as Della turned to face him as he turned and walked towards his wife with sheer concern for the pilot in question.
He didn't like other people touching the plane he had spent years trying to fix up. Sam wasn't stupid enough to think Scrooge wouldn't replace Della after 11 years of being on the moon.
It hurt Della, and he hoped he hadn't been replaced as well. Sam still knew Della was going to do something he regretted.
"What?" Della said, Sam walked over to go and talk to his wife more face to face with her as he crossed his arms.
Della rolled her eyes, she could read Sam like an open book, and it was quite clear he was going to snark at her for complaining over some taking the Cloud Slayer from her.
And then she decided to gesture wildly like he expected.
"He took my pride and joy!" Sam raised an eyebrow, Della seemed to realize what she said.
"Ok, second pride and joy." Della stated as Sam raised his lash further.
Granted, both Sam and Della loved their children, that was made obvious over the past few days… Sam did enjoy fixing up the Cloud Slayer purely because he was a sucker for old fashioned tech.
Still? Sam was always going to put his family first… that and he had been gone a while so he didn't know what had been done to the plane to begin with.
"Dell. I know you love the Cloud Slayer…" Sam wanted to start before Della grabbed his jacket and started pulling her husband along with her.
"You know our kids are going on an adventure to the site of a mine, right?" Sam asked, trying to get his wacky wife off questioning Launchpad.
"They're be fine… now we go and see if I can get my plane back." Sam rolled his eyes and sighed, he could easily get out of this. he just didn't feel like spending the day carrying Della over his shoulder until she let this go.
"This is going to be a long day." Sam snarked as he rolled his eyes and let Della bring him to Launchpad.
