"Don. Gilda. I'm going to tell you something…but first we need Nat, Anna, Thoma, and Lani there as well. Gather those four and meet me in the library a little before lights out." Emma said her voice and face serious as she looked at the other two who tensed at the sound of her being so serious.
"Sure Emma…is something wrong? Should we bring Mom too?" Don asked and Emma shook her head sharply.
"No. No matter what you do don't tell Mom anything and don't let her follow you to the library." Emma said voice dead serious and unyielding, making the two look nervous at the sound of her being so serious.
"Alright. We'll see you there. Let's finish these chores before Mom comes check on us though." Gilda said as she began cleaning up the spare room again, Don and Emma helping her.
Later that day.
"What did you want to talk about Emma?" Anna asked frowning as she noticed how Emma looked so serious and yet sad as she sat in a chair in front of them.
"Let me first start by saying that Mama can absolutely not know any of what I'm about to tell you. Neither can Ray or Norman. Before you say anything let me also say that I can prove what I'm about to tell you six but first I need your absolute silence." Emma said and her voice was just as serious as her face as she stared them down, making them exchange confused and worried looks.
"Alright…we won't say anything to Mom, Norman, or Ray. As long as it's not putting you or us in danger." Gilda said after looking at the others and being designated as the spokesperson for the group.
"Alright…just remember that I can prove everything." Emma said before she took a deep breath and looked them each in the eyes.
"I'm from the future. My mind is at least." Emma said staring at them and there was dead silence in the library for a moment.
"Good one Emma. You really had us going for a minute there." Don said with a small laugh but Emma wasn't laughing and the others shifted uncomfortably as they stared at her. She still looked so serious.
So unusually serious.
"Are you done?" Emma asked and her voice was cold and serious, making Don shut up immediately as he stared at her.
"Did you not hear me say that I can prove it?" Emma asked and Don winced a bit at the look on her face. She was still so serious and unamused. So very different than she always was.
"How?" Gilda asked making Emma raise an eyebrow at her. How what?
"How are you going to prove to us that your mind came from the future?" Gilda asked watching Emma carefully and making Emma give her a small smirk.
"Guess I should prove that before we move on to the next order of business then. Alright. Don, Gilda, you two know of all the chores Mama's been having us do for the last three days? The sheets, food, and cleaning that room?" Emma asked looking at the other two older kids who both nodded their heads slightly.
"Mama made it look like someone was being punished right? That's not what is actually happening. What's happening is that we're getting some new people tomorrow." Emma said making everyone blink at that. Huh?
"Tomorrow during free time, near the end of it, Mama will call everyone back early. When we're all back she'll introduce us to two new people. One will be a new little sister who has a small bit of red hair on her head and fair skin, her name is going to be Carol." Emma said and the others exchanged confused looks. How would Emma know about this?
"Not just that but there will be another adult there as well. A woman a little taller than Mama with dark skin and dark hair who is pretty muscular. She'll be introduced as Sister Krone, who will be there to help Mama despite Mama having never needed help with us before." Emma said and her eyes were a bit distant as she remembered Krone who had given them that checkered pen of William Minerva's. Krone who had been the one who had actually made it so that the kids would have somewhere to try and get to once outside.
Krone who had been the reason that they had not just survived but managed to fight back against the demons.
"Tomorrow once those two have arrived, will you believe me about being from the future? Or should I describe the game of tag that Sister Krone will join in on as well?" Emma asked staring at them and they all looked at each other.
"Okay. If the two people you describe show up with the appearance and names you said then we'll believe you. If they don't though…we're telling Mom that you're probably sick with something that's messing with your head." Don said deciding to give his sister the benefit of the doubt. She never really lied before. She had always preferred to be honest with people and expected the same curtesy from the others.
"Fair." Emma said nodding her agreement. She knew that this was a risk, knew that it would be risky ever since she had the idea to do this but…once she proved it to them then they'll listen to her and know she wasn't lying.
Once they realized she really was from the future then they'll definitely be a lot more likely to take her seriously when she told them everything. If they got in just that little bit more training, just a little more prepared then maybe a few things that went bad last time would go great this time.
The only reason she wasn't telling Ray and Norman was because she didn't want to change too much and end up making her memories useless due to the ripples of her changing things.
That and they often said that she wasn't the type to plan ahead. The kind who didn't plan ahead or outmaneuver anyone.
With this though, not only would she be able to outmaneuver Mama and the demons but she'd also be able to outsmart Norman and Ray as well.
It was definitely going to be fun seeing the look on Norman and Ray's faces when they realized it.
