Chapter 19
Seiya spends the next week thinking over everything. All Mamoru showed him, all of his own actions, all Usagi said and did, and all he felt. The guilt, and shame he feels almost chokes him most days. He can't believe he's been so blind, and selfish. He is appalled at himself. It's no wonder Princess Kakyu is disappointed in him, and no longer trusts him. He has destroyed that with his own actions.
Seiya avoids Usagi, and all of them the whole week. How can he face them, especially her and Mamoru, after what he's done? Usagi won't forgive him, and she shouldn't. He deserves the punishment Mamoru has for him, and he knows the time to accept his punishment is coming. He can't hide forever. There is a knock at his door with that thought. He opens the door to see Kunzite standing there.
"My prince wishes to know if you are done punishing yourself, and are ready to make amends." Kunzite asks.
"How can I possibly make amends? I don't deserve it. I tried to take everything away from her, them. That is not deserving of forgiveness."
"In my previous life, I stabbed my WIFE, Venus, in the stomach, and killed her. Yes Venus, Minako as you know her now, was my wife in our past life. In this life, when I found her again, I did not recognize her, then proceeded to attempt to kill her, and the princess she is sworn to protect. I also attempted to kill my prince, whom I also did not recognize. I only saw them all as the enemy. Since then, they have all given me forgiveness, and someday, Venus, my Minako, will be my wife again. I received forgiveness for my actions, and they were a great deal worse than yours. Granted through all of that I was possessed by evil, but did I deserve forgiveness?"
"Yes because you were not in control of your actions."
"True, but I MURDERED people, and attempted to do so again, to those most important to me. While, you misinterpreted love you felt. Murder and misguided love are two vastly different things. One breaks hearts, the other leaves people dead. My prince's princess brought myself, and my three comrades back to this life to be forgiven and to have a life with our loves because she knew, understood, and forgave us. Think on that."
"Your three comrades?"
"Yes. Jadeite killed Mars or Rei as you know her. Nephrite killed Makoto, and Zoisite killed Ami. We all tried again in this era. My prince, his princess, and our loves all forgave us. Are you not worthy of the same forgiveness for lesser actions?" Kunzite turns and disappears before Seiya has a chance to respond.
Closing the door, Seiya thinks on what Kunzite said. Maybe the man is right. That decided Seiya calls Mamoru to meet the next day. He insists that everyone be there, not just Usagi and Mamoru. He owes them all an apology.
