Chapter: 16 My house

The monsters looked where I was pointing. My house was a one-story house. It had a nice cut lawn and some plants in random areas. It had a cement driveway for my parent's cars. On the grass it had stepping stones leading up to the house.

It looked kind of like a cottage house. A nice, homey cottage house. The monsters looked at it for a bit. "Wow! Its very nice," complemented Doc. Susan agreed as well. Then we all heard barking. I walked up to my house. It was my dog. "Hey girl! It's me! It's-"

"Is that your sister?" asked B.O.B. as he came up next to me and looked at my dog. My dog was now so angry she barked even louder.

"What in the world is up with you dog!?" a voice inside the house asked my dog. Then I heard loud squeaking as the door was being opened up.

I held my breath.

Here goes nothing, I told myself as the door swung open.

My dog ran out and came at me.

I put my hands in front of me. "Girl! It's me! You remember me?" I talked to her softly. My dog sniffed me and then got excited.

She remembered me.

She licked my face but then saw my friends behind me. She growled and then started to bark at them. "Its ok, calm down," I told her. Then my dog slowly went up to the monsters.

"Hold your hand out so she could sniff you," I told them. They hesitated and slowly bend down and let my dog sniff their hands. My dog wagged her tail nervously and let them scratch her back.

I turned around and saw my mom staring at me and the monsters in total shock. I slowly walked up to her.

"Hi mom, it's me, -" before I could finish she quickly walked down the steps and hugged me. "Oh! My daughter! Your alive!" she cried happily. Then she let go of me and then stared at my bat features. "You don't suck blood right?" she asked. I smiled and shook my head. Then she looked up and saw my friends rubbing my dog's belly.

Her eyes were wide with terror.

"Oh! Uh…mom? These are my new friends…hey guys! Come over here and meet my mom," I told them. They got up and walked over to my mom and me. My mom took a step back.

"Mom these are my friends, they wont hurt you," I told her. She didn't relax. I pointed to Doc. "This is Dr. Cockroach," I explained to her.

Doc smiled at her. "Hello madam," he said politely and bowed. My mom kept staring at his enormous bug head.

I pointed to Link.

"This is the Missing Link," I told her.

My mom stood there frozen to the spot.

"You can just call me Link," he said as he smiled and showed his sharp teeth. My mom gasped at the sight of his teeth.

I continued. "This is B.O.B.," I said as I pointed to the blue blob. He waved.

My mom didn't wave back. "And this is Ginormica, but we call her by her human name, which is Susan," I told her as I pointed way up to Susan, "Hi," said Susan, as she smiled from above.

My mom finally snapped from her state of shock. "Can I talk to you for a minute?" my mom asked me. "Uh…Ok mom…can my friends go inside the house?" I asked her.

My mom looked at my strange friends. "Just stay right there and don't touch anything," she told them sternly. They obeyed and continued playing with my dog. My mom and I walked away from my friends out of earshot. "Now, I'm really glad you made friends-"

"They wanted to see where I live," I interrupted her.

She sighed.

"Will they be leaving?" she asked me.

I looked at her.

"I think so, I don't think the general would let us be sleeping here," I laughed.

My mom wasn't laughing.

"Us? You mean you and those…monsters?" she asked me.

"Yeah, we're just visiting," I answered her.

She sighed.

"You aren't old enough to leave the house yet," she told me.

"I know mom, but I'm a monster now, and us monsters have to be with each other," I told her.

"What kind of monster name did they give you?" she asked me.

"It's…Batulla, but they call me Bat for short," I told her and smiled weakly.

She sighed and looked down.

"Your dad is not going to like this," she muttered.

My ears pricked up. "Dad! Where is he? What about-" I started, but then my mom interrupted me. "Your dad and sister are in the house, Dad's fixing the bathroom still, and your sister is watching T.V."

I rolled my eyes. "As always," I muttered. My mom and me walked back to my monster friends. I turned to my mom.

"Can they go inside and look around?" I asked her with my satellite dish ears pointed toward her. She looked at them nervously, and then at me and sighed.

"As long as they don't break any thing, and it's your responsibility-" "Hey Bat! Is that your sister?" asked B.O.B. while pointing up on the roof.

We all looked up at what he was pointing at.

"No B.O.B. that's my cat…well she's really my sister's cat," I told him. My sister's cat's eyes widened at the sight of us.

She hissed and ran away.

"Stupid cat," I muttered.

My friends followed me inside the house. Susan stayed outside and looked through the huge window that looked into the dining room. "I'll be back," my mom told us and left. Doc, Link, and B.O.B. sat down on the couches.

"Well I see your mom is taking this very nicely," Doc told me.

I smiled nervously as my ears twitched when the house creaked. "Hey Bat? What is your dog's name?" asked Link as he scratched my dog's stomach.

I smiled. "Her name is-" "Mom! Where are you?" a voice interrupted me. It was my sister! Oh no! How is she going to take this?!

I got up from the couch and saw my sister walk into the dining room. She stopped. "AAAAHHHHHHHH!" she screamed.

"Is that your sister?" B.O.B. whispered to me. I slowly nodded.

My mom and Dad quickly came into the room. "What the-" my dad started as he stopped in his tracks at the sight of us.

"Dad it's me-" "What?! It can't be!" my dad interrupted me and stared at me.

My sister stared at me too in total shock. I looked at them.

"What's wrong? I just have bat features, I don't suck blood," I told them. My dad just looked at me. "You… fell off the cliff, we couldn't find your body… we assumed you were dead," my dad said.

"Dead?!" I looked at him with disbelief and shock

My friends listened in on the conversation.

"I can't be dead, I survived the fall…did I?" I thought for a minute.

My sister looked at me. "Do you remember anything? The trip to Transylvania?" she asked. I looked at her.

Now I was really confused.

"Trip? We went on a trip?" I asked her.

My sister and my parents looked at each other nervously.

I sighed and looked down on the floor.

My dad and my sister came up to me and hugged me.

"At least you are here," My dad said.
