Chap 19 Familiar symptoms

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru had returned to Canada in August to be there when Miroku went back to school, however, Miroku had had such a good experience at the spiritual retreat he asked his parents if he could continue his studies at the temple. With no one to keep them in the large home they found themselves free to travel.

They developed a monthly routine. First they would stop at Kyo's to teach at the Ibiza Medical School. Then they would visit Castletown and check on Capt Kenichi, Nikki, and Uncle Jaken and then they would go to Canada and visit their grandchildren.

On their August visit to Castletown Nikki shared her good news with Inuyasha.

"I'm pregnant again," she cheered. "We've been practicing a lot," she smiled, "and it looks like we finally got it right." The cake demon laughed at her joke.

Inuyasha congratulated her. "I'm happy for you. Sesshomaru and I have been enjoying the empty nest. All the kids are occupied with their lives. So we are traveling and adventuring."

"I'm glad your adventures brought you home to Castletown. You are well loved here."

"Sesshomaru ran this place long before I joined him."

"Maybe," Nikki agreed, "But you brought the spunk with you!"

Inuyasha laughed. He kicked back and drank some tea.

"Nikki, do you have some antacid, by chance? All this traveling has given me a bit of heartburn."

"Sure do. This child is doing a number on my stomach. Here. Have some." Nikki passed the bottle to Inuyasha. He chewed up three tabs and passed it back to her.

During their September visit Inuyasha told Nikki he was tired lately.

She mentioned she was too.

When they dropped through in October, Inuyasha commented to Nikki, "This last month I've been so emotional. I guess I wasn't really ready for the kids to leave us after all."

"I'm been a little moody too, Inuyasha, but I have an excuse," Nikki teased. "I also have a good reason for my baby bump. What's yours?"

Inuyasha stopped all motion and looked at his abdomen. There was a small bump. The hanyou stared and then looked at Nikki with large eyes.

"Excuse me Nikki. I need to talk to Sesshomaru."

Nikki nodded and excused her friend. Picking up her cell she dialed her mate.

"Inuyasha needs Sesshomaru. He's on his way back to the Castle. I'll tell you later."

Sesshomaru had been with Captain Kenichi reviewing building security. He conveyed the message. Sesshomaru walked out the gate and down the hill toward the center of the town. He met Inuyasha halfway.

"Are you okay, my love? Capt Kenichi said you needed me."

Inuyasha studied his brother's face. "I need you. Can we go see Bokusenō please?"

Smiling Sesshomaru hugged his mate closely, "Hold on tight."

Bokusenō was thrilled to see Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. "What joyous news do you bring me, my precious ones?"

Inuyasha grabbed Sesshomaru's hand and squeezed. "We're going for a more than a baker's dozen, Bokuseno. I'm pregnant with number 14."

Sesshomaru picked up Inuyasha and twirled him around. When he let the hanyou's feet touch down he pulled him tight and kissed him passionately.

"I take it that you're okay with it," Inuyasha leaned on his mate for balance.

"It's wonderful news, Inuyasha! Sure I'm a bit surprised but I'm happy. Aren't you?"

Then Inuyasha remember the dream.

He shared it with his brother. "She said to promise her that I'd tell you that you're the most important to me. The dream really startled me and I woke with tears but then you pulled me back into bed and I fell asleep. I forgot the dream until now."

Inuyasha looked in Sesshomaru golden eyes for any sign of unhappiness. "You are the most important to me, Sesshomaru. I love you."

Sesshomaru saw the concern in his brother's face. "I see nothing to worry about my love. Rin is Rin and that come out okay. She is ours. Kagome will be Kagome. She will be ours."

"That's right my boys, "Bokusenō chuckled. "Don't go looking for trouble. It will find you on its own. Rest now and tell me of my grandchildren. I hope you bring them by soon."

Sesshomaru sat and pulled Inuyasha into his lap. He rubbed gently over the small baby bump. "Let's start with Our Blessing Keiko…."

Bokusenō laughed at the tales of the three musketeers and cried at the loss of the precious one. He marveled at the idea that he had a grandson flying around in the heavens and laughed at the way Inuyasha found out he was pregnant.

The men talked until late in the night and the great tree made a canopy of his leaves to protect them. They rested peacefully in his glen and then left the next day but not before promising they would return sooner the next time.
