Chapter 18 : Fuji's younger brother
After the match over, Seigaku has time to rest until they have another match. The team decides to split up. Some decide to watch other matches; others decide to have individual practice.
"Where should we go?" asks Horio to Ryoma who already picks up his bag.
"I'm going to buy a juice," Ryoma answers. However, before he walks, Chiharu stops him by grabbing his shoulder.
"Then, how about you go buy some drinks for the team?" Chiharu says with an eye smile.
"Huh? Why should I?" Ryoma asks and tries to shake Chiharu's grip but can't because she tightens it.
"Do you have a choice to refuse, chibi-chan?" Chiharu asks with a smirk.
"Stop calling me like that!" Ryoma snapback with irk mark. "That's your job!"
"Well, I'm busy because of someone..." Chiharu says and lifts up Kaidoh's jersey. Seeing that Horio can only gulp his saliva before drag Ryoma to go with the errand. Ryoma left with a pout on his face, makes Chiharu let out a giggle. Tomoka and Sakuno decide to follow Ryoma also. After Chiharu scolds Tomoka, she doesn't look at her at all. It's not like Chiharu mind it.
Seeing the freshmen already left, leaving Chiharu with Haruka and Mio.
"You guys not go with them?" Chiharu asks her classmates.
"Well, if we join them, she will have another fight with Tomoka," Haruka says and mess Mio hair.
"Stop mess my hair, already!" Mio shout and slap Haruka's hand away.
Hearing that, Chiharu can imagine it and let out a tired sigh. Hearing her sigh, Mio hides behind Haruka, makes her childhood friend confuse.
"What's wrong with you?" Haruka asks makes Chiharu also look at Mio confuse.
"Um... I think Chiharu-chan still mad at me. I don't want to bother her anymore..." Mio muttered.
Hearing that, Chiharu and Haruka look at her blankly before lets out a laugh.
"It's not funny! Chiharu-chan looks scary when she mad!" Mio pouting. After finish laughing, Chiharu walks to Mio and pet her head.
"I'm already not angry with you, sorry to scold you earlier, Mio," Chiharu says with ensuring smile.
"Chiharu-chan sorry for earlier!" Mio says and hugs Chiharu.
"Ah~ If only I'm boy, I will ask you to be my girlfriend," Haruka says and act as she wipes her own tear.
"Haruka, you're disgusting," Mio says and get a chop on the head from Haruka. "It's hurt!"
"Shut up, just go to Tomoka and apologize already," Haruka says and folding both her hand in front of her chest.
"But, Tomoka is the one who started first..." Mio muttered and look away. Hearing that Haruka just let out another sigh. Mio is really stubborn.
"Just for today 'kay? Think it's for Chiharu-chan sake," Haruka says.
"Huh? Me?" Chiharu asks and points herself.
"Even so..." Mio muttered.
"We come to cheer Seigaku, not have a fight with Tomoka," Haruka says make Mio looks at her surprise. She looks at Chiharu before nod.
"Okay. Only for today," Mio says before walk, after Ryoma's group.
"I don't mind you know," Chiharu says after Mio left. Haruka just let out a closed eye smile. Chiharu just shrugs and smiles before walks to the nearest sink, Haruka follows her. "Sometimes you act like a mother. Like Oishi-senpai."
"At least I'm don't have egg-shaped head," Haruka says and lean on the wall.
"Kikumaru-senpai will be angry if he hears that, you know..." Chiharu chuckles and start to clean Kaidoh's jersey.
After that, both of them don't say anything. They can only hear the sound of water from the sink and from the surrounding, people talking about the match. Chiharu looks at Haruka from the corner of her eyes and can find her looking at her.
"Is there something you want to say?" Chiharu says still continue washing.
"You know... You don't have to be harsh right that, earlier," Haruka says. "It's not like you. Usually, you don't mind if both of them have an argument."
Chiharu just let out a chuckle hearing that. She turns off the water and squeezes the water from the jersey. "It's just annoyed me, that's all."
"Hm... If you say, so," Haruka says with an amused smile.
"Sometimes I don't like your smile," Chiharu says with a flat face.
"Eh? Why? I'm looking this cute, how can you hate it!" Haruka says and holds her chest as if she gets shot.
"Stupid," Chiharu says and shakes the jersey to Haruka.
"Hey!" Haruka complains because the waters come to her. Chiharu just let out a laugh before she walks back. "Let's go back and hangs this jersey." Haruka lets out another laugh before following Chiharu.
When they arrive near to the destine court, Chiharu can find two of members at there. The first boy has wavy black hair and the other boy have short brown hair with a scar on the right side of his forehead. However, the one with wavy black hair wears a school uniform, while the other wear their team jersey. Chiharu and Haruka arrive earlier than the other member, so there is no Seigaku there.
"It's that Seigaku next opponent?" Haruka asks.
"Yeah, it's . I hear Fuji-senpai's brother is in that team," Chiharu says as she hangs Kaidoh's jersey on the pole.
"Really!? Fuji-senpai bother!?" Haruka asks in a loud voice.
"Yeah, but I don't know which one. I'm still not getting the data from Inui-senpai," Chiharu says.
"Good afternoon, miss," say, someone, interrupting Chiharu and Haruka's conversation. They turn their head to see the two boys already standing next to them. Chiharu and Haruka look at each other before Chiharu asking what's their business.
"No, I just want to introduce myself. I'm Mizuki Hajime, manager," the boy with wavy black hair says and reaches out his hand.
"Ah..." Chiharu says before hold his hand. "Nice to meet you, my name is- "
"Shigeko Chiharu, yes I know," Mizuki cut her with a smile. Chiharu just looks at him weird before let out an awkward laugh. She releases her hand before look at the other boy. Notice her look, Mizuki let out a cough and pull the boy behind him.
"This is one of our members. His name Fuji Yuuta," Mizuki introduces him.
"Fuji... He is Fuji-senpai brother?" Haruka whispered asks to Chiharu but still caught by the boy.
"I'm not his younger brother!" Yuuta suddenly shouts make both of Chiharu and Haruka surprised.
"Calm down Yuuta-kun. Sorry about him, okay?" Mizuki says with a smile while Yuuta just looks at another way.
"No, it's okay. We are sorry too if we upset him," Chiharu says and bowing.
"Kora, Yuuta-kun you apologize too," Mizuki says. Yuuta lets out tch before bowing to Chiharu too.
"At first, I thought, we can have a talk as the team manager... However, it's seemed your team is arriving," Mizuki says with chuckle and point to the other way. Chiharu following his finger to see the regulars are walking from far. "Then, see you later," Mizuki says before going.
"Wait, Fuji-san," Chiharu says making Yuuta glare at her again.
"I told you, I'm not Fuji little brother! I am myself! Fuji Yuuta!" Yuuta snaps back.
Hearing he shout back to Chiharu, Haruka becomes angry and wants to shout back at him but stop by Chiharu. She holds Haruka's hand and shakes her head, indicating her to not anger him.
"Then, Yuuta-san," Chiharu says which makes Yuuta wide his eye with the name she uses. "I don't know what's your problem with Fuji-senpai, but I just want to say, let's have a good game for both of our team," Chiharu says with a smile.
A blush comes out on Yuuta's faces. He just nods and decides to walk back to his team. Before he goes far, Chiharu says another statement that surprises him.
"Of course, you're not Fuji-senpai because you and Fuji-senpai is a different person. The person in front of me is Yuuta-san. Not Fuji Syusuke."
Seeing Yuta not turn his back, Chiharu just thinks that he doesn't hear her statement. She let out a sigh and turn to face Haruka, who face already red in angrier.
"What's his problem seriously!?" Haruka says to make the other regulars who just arrive look at her confused.
"Um, Shigeko-san. What's happen Konishi-san?" Oishi asks in worried.
"Well... How should I explain..." Chiharu says with an awkward smile as she glances at Fuji.
"Mou! I don't care anymore! Seigaku have to win this game!" Haruka says and pumps her hand up.
"Nya~? Haruka-chan gets fired up! Me too!" Kikumaru says as he joins Haruka and pumps up his hand.
Chiharu just let out a chuckle with how Haruka and Kikumaru act. She then notices Fuji already stand beside her.
"Did Yuuta say something?" he asks. Chiharu just smiles and shakes her head. "We just greet each other, that's all."
