JELLAL P.O.V.
Many years ago...
It was a normal day at school for any 1st grader, but today was different. Today was when our teacher walked out the hallway to come back with this girl. She had the most vibrant hair that I can't stop looking at.
"Class today we have a new student joining us." She pulls the girl in front of the class. "Go ahead dear, tell us your name." The young girl slowly steps out from the teacher.
"My name is Erza" She puts her hands in front of her mouth, but I can't stop looking at her hair. It's so pretty I just want to touch it...
"Jellal?" I enter back into reality to see the same red head cupping my face once one more. I smile back at her "Where did you go right now?"
"I was thinking about the first time I saw you." She started laughing
"You know, I thought you were some creepy boy. You KEPT LOOKING and it really made me nervous."
"Scarlet, you wound me. I was just falling deeply in love with your hair."
"Did you have to do it in a creepy way?" I rubbed her arms.
"I did do it in a creepy way, didn't I?" She nodded violently
ULTEAR P.O.V.
I honestly thought today was going to be an easy day, but then Laxus' council is a real pain in the ass. Why the hell do they insist on having Erza appear in court!? I'm quietly pacing waiting for the judge to call us into his chambers.
"Ms. Milkovich, the judge is ready for you." I nodded my head and signaled to Meredy to follow me to get ready for one hell of a battle. Of course, Laxus has to get the best family court lawyer Mr. Precht Gaebolg. A family friend of Laxus', my mentor, and the biggest pain in ass for anyone who goes against him.
We enter the room to see Judge Yajima sitting there reviewing the file. "Council, I need you to talk to me about why we postpone today's court date. Since this was your idea Precht, I want to hear your reasoning." Precht adjusted his suit before starting his nonsense.
"Thank you judge, I'm just simply asking that Ms. Mikovich has her client be present throughout the entirety of these proceedings. If my client has to be present for the entirety of these proceedings so should her client."
"Unlike your client, my client is still recovering from the wounds that YOUR client inflected. I have the police reports, pictures, and medical records from the past couple of days that I would want to enter into discovery."
"Is this true?" I handed the judge the file of both Jellal and Erza's most recent injuries.
"From what I can tell her client injuries are blown out of proportion." Precht starts waving his arms in the air because I know he's grasping on straws.
"Fourteen stitches on the back of Ms. Scarlet's skull sounds like a serious injury, not to mention the physical harm that he did to his partner/ the biological father of this child. I would also want to include that Mr. Gaebolg's client is a police officer with many ties to the court that could lead to another incident. My client is afraid for her life if she enters this court without certain protection to ensure for her and the child's safety that next time she is not going to be as lucky." Yajima is going through the files, and he winces when seeing the images.
"Oh please, I could say the same for your client. She works within this courthouse, and could somehow harm my client." Pretch starts to wiggle his way through.
"Mr. Gaebolg, does your client have a reasonable threat of harm towards them?"
"No judge, but.."
"Then I would have to agree with Ms. Mikovich that her client does not have to be physically present. I will accept a conference call or video call from Ms. Scarlet due to the matter of her safety. Your client will be physically present to ensure your client is following the law, and the only time these two will be in the same courtroom is if Ms. Scarlet is called to the stand even then we will have some safety protocols in place." I smiled because this is going to be what I needed to start my case.
"Thank you Judge"
"Alright council, do any of you have anything to add to discovery?" This is my moment to set my plan in place.
"I have motion to include Mr. Dreyer Internal Affairs record to be unsealed along with documentation of multiple incidents of violence in front of the child in question, Rosemary Scarlet." I handed the motion while Meredy gave the file to both the judge and Precht. I can tell he was blind sidded by this information.
"I will take this under consideration, but court will begin tomorrow at 9am sharp. You're dismissed." We all slowly start exiting the room, and Meredy pulls me away from prying ears.
"Ultear, I was talking to Lucy the other day for a statement and she told me something off the record that I think we can use."
"What did she tell you?"
"She only gave me a name: Michelle Lobster" That name sounds so familiar, but I can't place it at the moment.
"Alright, I'll get one of our P.I.'s to look into, but I'm worried about who he has for council. We will need to run counter background checks, and any available dirt they might use against Erza."
"I agree, but my main worry is about if they look into Jellal and his past relationships. I think we need to prepare for that to come out in court." I completely forgot about that, and I know Precht will use it against us especially since I'm Jellal's friend.
"Yes, let's start working on this. I will inform Jellal later on today but let's go get some food before we start."
JELLAL P.O.V.
"Quit staring at me like that, you bringing back to when I first met you." I look up and down at Erza and continue to do it to get her uncomfortable. She looks so innocent when she feels uncomfortable.
"Now that I think about it, why didn't you want to play with me when you first came?"
"YES! You would just stare especially on the first day at recess." That's right we all had recess.
Many years ago...1st Grade
We all waited patiently for the teacher to give us the okay to go and play in the playground, right at the beginning of lunch time the entire split into two groups. The girls went on the slides and played on the swings and sometimes some boys went to join them. Usually, the boys went to go play tag for the entire time before we all had to go eat.
Today was different, today we had a little scarlet girl walk up to us. "Can I play?" All the boys looked confused until Simon smiled and waved over towards her.
"Erzie, the boys play too rough." Millianna shouted but this girl brushed it off.
"Yeah Erza, was it?" She nodded "You can play with us, the trees are glue and can be on there for only ten seconds." There were a total of eight boys playing and this girl.
"Okay when do we start playing?" She smiled and then Simon reached out for her hand.
"NOW! JELLAL IS IT!" Why does it have to be me? I quickly ran to tag Shou the smallest in our group. I look around for the Scarlet hair, and I see a few strands behind the biggest tree. I ran over hiding behind the sandbox to get a closer look.
Now I see the bigger picture, and it's Simon holding on her hand! NO! I WANTED HOLD HER HAND! I want to throw a rock at him, but then Shou started crying because he can't tag anyone. I was right about to walk up to him to let him tag me then she let go of Simon's hand to be it.
"Here, let me be it." His tears stopped and a smile emerged and Erza ran around until she spotted Midnight. Before he knew it she got him and he wasn't too happy about it. He kept running around for a while and was still looking for someone to tag.
"KIDS YOU HAVE 5 MINUTES LEFT." The teacher shouted before we saw Midnight start stomping around.
"THIS IS UNFAIR I'VE BEEN IT FOREVER!" Then he saw Scarlet, and even though she was on glue he pushed her on the ground. "THERE YOU GO RED, YOU'RE IT!"
She slowly got up to see a drop of blood coming from her right eye, and I rushed over to see that her eye was closed. She didn't make a sound or anything she had her left eye open when she went charging at Midnight then took him down. She got back up and tried to walk away, but she couldn't see right. I grabbed her hand as Simon got the teacher and I got to take her to nurse. I got to have lunch with her in the nurse's office alone…
Now I look at the fully grown scarlet haired woman before me "Even then Scarlet, you took care of yourself." She lightly chuckled before planting a quick peck on the lips.
"Yep, but you really need to stop staring like that before I take you down like Midnight."
"As long as I get to each my lunch with you in the nurse's office alone." Her eyes narrowed before moving closer.
"Or I can be your nurse?" Erza in a nurse's outfit sounds amazing….. I love this woman. I think my nose is bleeding a little, and Erza looked at me which said, I won.
