Friday Afternoon at the SBPD

It was around 3:30 in the afternoon on a Friday at the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Head detective, Juliet Spencer sat in her office finishing up paperwork before heading home for the weekend.

Carlton knocked on the door.

"Come in." Juliet said.

Carlton walked in.

Juliet looked up from her work and smiled, "Hey Carlton, what's up?"

"I came to tell you that you, Spencer, the Bornes have been invited to the Lassiter household for dinner tonight." Carlton said.

Juliet put her pen down and offered Lassiter a chair to sit in.

Carlton took the 5 steps from the doorway to one of the chairs in front of Juliet's desk.

"So, whose doing was it?" Juliet asked.

"Pardon?" Carlton asked.

"Whose idea was it for dinner?"

"Juliet, come on. You know damn well it was Marlowe."

Juliet chuckled, "I just don't understand why you're being pissy about it."

"Juliet, you have known me for almost 30 years. When have you ever known me to invite people over to my house?"

"Never."

Shawn walked into his office and saw Carlton sitting in front of Juliet.

"Lassie!" Shawn exclaimed.

Carlton turned around, "Spencer, where were you?"

"I went to the Psych office and then me and Gus went to go get smoothies."

"Ah, I see."

Shawn walked over to Juliet and kissed her on the mouth.

"Hi there." Shawn whispered.

"Hi. How is everything?" Juliet asked.

"Dad has it under control."

"Good."

Shawn walked over to his desk and started to finish the week's work.

"What are you doing in here, Lassie?" Shawn asked.

"I came to tell your wife that you, her, and the Bornes are invited to the Lassiter household for dinner tonight." Carlton said.

"Jules, what did you say?"

"I said it was lovely." Juliet said.

"Have you told our daughter?"

"I have not. I have been catching up with Carlton."

"I'm all done for the day, so I'll tell her when I get home."

"Ok. Bye. I love you."

"I love you too."

Shawn went over to Juliet and prompted her to stand up.

Juliet stood up and looked up at her husband. She saw nothing but love and excitement in them.

Shawn wrapped his arms around Juliet's body and hugged her tight.

"I love you." Shawn whispered.

"I love you too." Juliet said.

Juliet lifted her head and kissed Shawn.

Shawn pulled away and smiled.

Shawn walked away and went and hugged Carlton.

"I love you too, Lassie." Shawn joked.

"Spencer, you have 2 milliseconds to let go of me." Carlton threatened.

Shawn jumped back like he'd been burned.

"Call me on your way home." Shawn said.

Juliet nodded.

Shawn grabbed his backpack and left the office.

Juliet sat back and down and continued her conversation with Carlton for a few more minutes.

Shawn

Shawn got out of his car and went into his house. He turned around and typed in the alarm code and took his shoes off by the door.

"Mags?" Shawn called out.

"Garrett?"

Shawn didn't hear anything, so he went downstairs to see if they were home.

Shawn reached the last step and saw Maggie, Garrett, and Morgan sleeping on the bed. He smiled and took a picture of them.

Shawn walked over to Maggie's side of the bed. He bent down and poked her.

Maggie jumped up startled.

"Dad. What the hell?" Maggie asked.

"We have been invited to the Casa of Lassie tonight for dinner." Shawn said.

"You couldn't have told me this when I woke up?"

"Well, Lassie likes to eat early. Like 7:30 early."

"Ew. But thank you. Who is watching the baby?"

"I didn't think of that. I think Trey is home tonight."

"Dad, he's 17, he's still a baby."

"I think Aaron and Madison are coming by tonight. I'll ask them to watch her."

"Dad, she's my baby. I'll ask them."

Shawn nodded.

Shawn walked out of the basement and started to get stuff ready for the night.

4:45

4:45 rolled around and Lassiter was still in Juliet's office.

Juliet looked at her watch and saw the time.

"Carlton, I hate to cut you off, but it's almost 5. I have just a few more reports to type." Juliet said.

Carlton got up, "Sorry, Juliet. I guess I will see you guys later."

"Do we need to bring anything?"

"Wine and Beer…and a lot of it."

Juliet nodded, "Got it taken care of. See you, Carlton."

Carlton left Juliet's office and went and finished the case he was working on before leaving.

5:15

Juliet finished typing her last word on the report at 5:15. She proofread the case before sending it to the chief. She sent in to the chief and then logged off for the weekend.

Juliet got up from her desk and gathered her belongings and started walking out the station.

Juliet stepped off the last step of the station and got her phone out to call Shawn.

"Hello?" Shawn asked.

"Hey babe." Juliet said.

"Hey. What's up?"

"I was calling to tell you that I am walking to my car right now. I should be home in about 10 minutes. Are the kids up?"

"No. We still have over an hour."

"Yeah, but we have to go get wine and beer."

"You can't pick those up on the way home and they can chill in the fridge?"

"I guess I could do that. I'll see you in a bit."

"Alrighty, I love you."

"I love you too."

Shawn

Shawn got off the phone with Juliet and heard the alarm beep. He rounded the corner and saw Aaron and Madison and Aaron's dog Blu.

Blu went up to Shawn and jumped on him.

"Well hello, Blu." Shawn said.

Aaron came up behind him and pushed him lightly off of Shawn. He came back up to his dad and gave him a hug.

"Hey pops." Aaron said.

"Hey. How have you been?" Shawn asked.

"Good. I'm thinking about asking Madison to marry me."

Shawn pulled back from the hug, "Are you absolutely sure?"

Aaron nodded.

"Your mother should be here in a few minutes."

Aaron nodded.

Shawn moved passed Aaron and went over to Madison.

"Hey, Madison. How are you?" Shawn asked.

"Good. How have you been, Mr. Spencer?" Madison asked.

"Good. I have a question for you two."

Aaron nodded.

"Me, your mother, your sister, and her husband have been summoned to Casa of Lassie for dinner tonight. Can you guys watch Morgan for a few hours?"

Aaron looked at Madison and she nodded.

"Yeah. Of course." Aaron said.

"Thank you so much!"

Aaron smiled.

Garrett and Maggie

Maggie's alarm went off at 5:30. She got out of bed and went and took a quick shower. She got out of the shower and went and woke Garrett up.

"Gare, get up." Maggie said.

"No." Garrett mumbled.

"We have to go to dinner at Uncle Lassie's."

"Since when does he invite people to his house?"

"He doesn't, but his wife does."

"True."

Garrett opened his eyes all the way and saw Maggie in a cute red sweater with black pants and black boots.

"You look gorgeous." Garrett said.

Maggie bent down and kissed Garrett, "Thank you. Now go shower."

Garrett nodded and went and showered.

Juliet

Juliet walked into the house at 5:45. She put her purse down and then was jumped on by Blu.

"Blu, what are you doing here?" Juliet asked.

Aaron got up and went to go hug Juliet.

Juliet looked up and saw her oldest smiling.

"Hey baby." Juliet said.

"Hey momma. I missed you." Aaron said.

"I missed you too. How are you?"

"Good. Madison is here."

Juliet smiled and gave her oldest a hug.

Aaron pulled away from the hug and helped Juliet bring the wine and beer in the fridge to be cooling.

Maggie walked up the stairs holding Morgan.

Aaron heard the basement door open and saw Maggie carrying a 6 month old Morgan.

Aaron went over to Maggie, "Hey little one."

Maggie looked up and saw her brother.

"Bubs. How are you?" Maggie asked.

"Good. Me and Madi are going to watch little one tonight."

"Did dad ask you?"

"He did."

Maggie turned to Shawn, "Dad. I told you I would ask him."

"I know, I just wanted to ask him earlier, so I could get everything out and ready for him." Shawn said.

"Well thank you."

Madison got up and went and greeted Maggie.

"Hey Maggie." Madison said.

"Hey Madison. How are you?" Maggie asked.

"Good. Everything is good."

"How is he behaving?"

"He is perfect."

Blu came up to Maggie and pushed his nose into her hand.

"Aaron, can you hold her?" Maggie asked.

Aaron grabbed Morgan from Maggie and held her close to his chest.

Shawn and Juliet watched Aaron hold Morgan from the couch in the living room.

"Aaron told me, that he's thinking about asking Madison to marry him." Shawn whispered.

Juliet turned her head, "Really?"

Shawn nodded.

Maggie got down on the floor and played with Blu for a little bit.

Garrett came up the stairs and saw his wife on the floor playing with Aaron's dog.

Blu heard the door shut and saw Garrett walking out. He left Maggie and went to greet him.

Garrett bent down, "What's up Blu?"

Garrett scratched Blu behind the ears and some on the butt.

Maggie went up to Garrett and hugged him.

Garrett left Blu alone for a second and hugged Maggie back.

"You look nice." Maggie said.

"Yeah?" Garrett asked.

"Oh yeah."

Aaron heard Maggie talking to Garrett.

"Maggie Grace Spencer! You will not talk like that when I'm around." Aaron fussed.

Maggie turned around and looked at Aaron blushing.

Aaron laughed.

"I hate you." Maggie said.

"No you don't." Aaron said.

Shawn got up from the couch and said, "You got her dude."

Aaron laughed and fist bumped his dad.

"Shawn! Shower now!" Juliet said.

Shawn nodded and began to head up the stairs.

Not even 45 seconds later, Juliet followed him up the stairs.

Shawn reached the bathroom and before he closed the door, Juliet came and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Are we going to shower together?" Shawn asked.

"Just shower." Juliet said.

"You're not fun."

"Oh yes I am."

"You right."

Shawn began taking off his clothes while Juliet turned on the water and let the hot water begin to flow.

Juliet went over to Shawn and hugged him. She wrapped her arms around his bare torso and kissed the scar on his chest.

"Jules, you said shower only." Shawn repeated.

"I know." Juliet said.

"Then what are you doing?"

"Just hugging you."

"You're kissing my scar. You know I can't behave when you kiss all over my chest."

"Whoops."

Shawn took the rest of his clothes off and got in the shower.

"Ow!" Shawn yelped.

"Babe?" Juliet asked.

"Why is this water so hot?"

"I like hot showers."

"How do you not die?"

"I'm a woman. That's how."

Juliet took the rest of her clothes off and got in with Shawn. She moved Shawn out of the way so she could start on her hair.

Shawn grabbed the shampoo and began massaging it into her scalp.

Juliet leaned her head back and looked at Shawn.

Shawn bent down and kissed Juliet.

Juliet pulled up quickly rinsing the water out of her hair.

Shawn caught her eye and saw her blush.

Downstairs

Downstairs with the kids Aaron went and sat down next to Madison while holding Morgan.

Madison saw Aaron holding Morgan and caught his eye.

Aaron looked at Madison and just simply nodded.

Maggie caught the exchange and caught on.

"No way!" Maggie shouted.

"No way, what?" Aaron asked.

"You two are thinking about a kid."

"How?"

"I'm Shawn Spencer's child."

Aaron smiled and sat back.

Maggie got on the next couch and looked at the couple.

"Are you guys serious?" Maggie asked.

Aaron looked at Madison then looked back at Maggie, "I mean, it has come up."

Maggie squealed.

Aaron laughed, "Can we keep this on the DL for a bit?"

Maggie nodded.

Garrett sat down next to Maggie and pulled her closer.

30 Minutes

30 minutes have passed and Juliet walked down the stairs dressed.

"Mags, are you and yours ready?" Juliet asked.

Maggie looked at Garrett, "Yep. You?"

"Your father should be down here in just a second."

5 more minutes passed and Juliet got curious why Shawn was taking so long.

"Shawn! Let's go!" Juliet yelled.

"Jules, calm down. I'm coming down the stairs now!" Shawn said.

"Oh. Ok. Grab drinks and let's go."

Shawn and Garrett went both went to the fridge and grabbed the drinks and put them in Shawn's car.

Maggie and Juliet followed their husbands and got into their respective cars.

They took off toward's Lassiter's house to begin their Friday night.
