A/N: As mentioned, this fanfiction is on Gohan and Videl's perspective, so everything that happens is based on how Gohan and Videl saw it. That means that what happened after they died is excluded in the story. But to show continuity, I have put a summary of what had transpired while Gohan and Videl are dead.

After Gohan was absorbed by Majin Buu, Goku seems to be the only one who needs to face the pink abomination alone. Until Vegeta was brought back to Earth to help Goku. The two of them tried to defeat Majin Buu by fusing together. But even though their efforts were astounding they still fall short, with Majin Buu destructing the Earth. With the help of the Supreme Kai, they were able to escape to the Sacred World of Kais with Dende, Mr. Satan and the dog Bee before the Earth explodes.
To their horror, Majin Buu was able to follow them there and the fight ensues. As the battle continues, Vegeta thought of an idea to defeat Buu. He asked the Supreme Kai, Dende and the Old Kai to go to Planet Namek and use the dragon balls to bring back the Earth, then resurrect all non-evil persons who died after the World Martial Arts Tournament.

SOMEWHERE ON EARTH
Gohan wakes up in what seems like the woods. Beside him are Piccolo, Goten and Trunks.
GOTEN: What's going on?
At the Lookout, Videl and the others were also revived. All of them are confused as to what is happening. Until suddenly, they heard Vegeta's voice.
VEGETA: (voice over) People of the Earth, do you hear me? I'm talking from another realm. You might probably know this, but you were killed by Majin Buu. However, you were revived by an outside power. Everything is back to normal. This is not a dream.
TRUNKS: It's Dad!
VEGETA: (voice over) Right now we're fighting Buu somewhere else on your behalf.
BULMA: It's Vegeta! How can he do this?
KRILLIN: Shhh!
VEGETA: (voice over) But we can't do this along. We need your help. You need to lend your powers to us. Raise your hands to the sky. It won't be too bad. You'll just feel you lose some energy, but you'll be fine. We need to combine our strength to defeat Majin Buu.
KRILLIN: Just raise your hands like how I do!
All of them raise their hands, following Vegeta's order.
In the woods, Gohan realizes what is about to happen. He smiles.
GOHAN: Come on, guys! Let's raise our hands!
The four of them raise their hands.
PICCOLO: (to Gohan) Do you think he's going to use it?
GOHAN: Yes. It seems like Buu is something strong that no other attack is going to work.
TRUNKS: What is my dad doing?
GOHAN: I think it's not your dad. Probably, it's our dad who's going to do it.
GOTEN: What is Dad going to do, Gohan?
GOHAN: It's a spirit bomb. It's a bomb created by all the energy of the living things.
TRUNKS: Is it really a super strong attack?
GOHAN: All I know is it was what he used to defeat Frieza.
VEGETA: (voice over) Hey, you idiots! Hurry up and help us! Do you want to be killed by Buu again?
PICCOLO: It seems like it's only us who's helping them.
GOHAN: People might not want to obey since they don't know Vegeta.
GOKU: (voice over) People of the Earth! Please, lend me your energy! We need your help. Please raise your hands in the sky!
Goku's friends from all over the Earth heard him, and they all raised their hands and helped. However, it still isn't enough.
GOKU: (voice over) Everyone! Hurry up and help us! Are you saying you don't care whatever happens to the universe? Fools!
GOHAN: Dad seems frustrated.
PICCOLO: Tending a spirit bomb while trying to convince the people is very hard to do. I understand his frustration.
TRUNKS: But... what happened to Dad?
PICCOLO: He might be stalling more time for Goku. I just hope we're there to help them.
Then suddenly, another voice breaks in.
MR. SATAN: (voice over) You bastards! Aren't you going to listen to your world champion?
At the Lookout, Videl was surprised to hear the familiar voice.
VIDEL: Dad?
KRILLIN: Mr. Satan is with them?
MR. SATAN: Yeah, that's right! We're fighting Majin Buu over here, but we really need your help. Lend us your energy by raising your hands to the sky.
Back in the woods, Piccolo smiles proudly at Trunks and the others.
PICCOLO: (smiling) Do you believe me now?
TRUNKS: Yeah... but he still is a loser.
The people of the Earth finally listens, raising their hands in the sky sending their energy to wherever Mr. Satan and the others are. The energy flows through the sky like fireworks.
GOHAN: Alright!
PICCOLO: Everyone is contributing!
GOHAN: I hope that will be enough... (on his mind) Dad, it's up to you now. Go do your best.
Everyone waits for the outcome of their sacrifice. Until after a few moments, another voice breaks in.
MR. SATAN: (voice over) People of the Earth! This is your world champion, Mr. Satan! Because of your help, Majin Buu has been defeated and will not return forever!
Everyone all over the world is rejoicing. Except for one person.
VIDEL: (embarrassed) Dad... you're so embarrassing.
CHI-CHI: It's okay, Videl! What's important is we won and Buu is finally gone forever!
KRILLIN: And by the way, he also has a part. He talked to everyone and if not because of him, no one would have contributed aside from us.
BULMA: Yeah. Don't worry about that, girl. Let's just celebrate this victory!
YAMCHA: Thanks to Goku and Vegeta!
Videl looks at the others. Everyone is happy for the victory not only of Goku and Vegeta but the whole world as well. She then lets go of any worries and join in their glee.
Elsewhere, Gohan and Piccolo try to search for Majin Buu's ki.
PICCOLO: He's gone. Majin Buu's ki is totally gone!
GOHAN: Yeah...
Trunks and Goten jump up in glee. Gohan is happily watching them, infected by their joy. He too feels joyful. He looks at the direction where he knows Majin Buu was. He knows his dad is there as well.
GOHAN: (on his mind) Thanks, Dad. You did it again.
PICCOLO: Let's go back to the Lookout.
The three agrees. Along the way they see Tien Shinhan. He flies up and meets them.
PICCOLO: We're going back to the Lookout. Do you want to come?
TIEN: I have to check on Chiaotzu.
PICCOLO: I see.
GOHAN: Hey! Don't go out of the radar that much. We would like to see you once in a while.
TIEN: I will try.
Tien looks at Goten.
GOHAN: He's my brother.
TIEN: I figured. He looks a lot like Goku when I first met him. And this might be Trunks.
GOHAN: He is. You see, a lot has changed.
TIEN: (nods) I will tell Chiaotzu about it. We'll come visit soon.
GOHAN: See ya!
Tien leaves. The four continue flying.
TRUNKS: Gohan, who is that bald man?
GOHAN: A friend. He used to fight with us.
PICCOLO: Let's go faster.
The four of them fly faster.
At the Lookout, everyone is still on cloud nine.
BULMA: I know! We'll have a victory party! When everything is settled, I will organize a party and you're all invited!
Everyone was joyful at that announcement. Until Krillin remembers something.
KRILLIN: It's just bad that we can't have Goku and Vegeta with us. I mean, they are the reason why we have something to celebrate, right?
The mood suddenly changed from joyful to sad. Everyone realized the big sacrifices that has been made to achieve peace once again.
YAMCHA: Hey... I'm pretty sure Goku and Vegeta would not want us sulking just because they're dead. For sure they want us to be happy and celebrate the victory that they brought to us.
CHI-CHI: Yeah... Knowing Goku, he never lets sadness defeat him. For him, everything will be okay whatever it takes.
KRILLIN: I wonder... are they together now in heaven?
MASTER ROSHI: Probably Vegeta was pardoned because of his help in saving the universe. He could be given a chance.
KRILLIN: Well, still hard to imagine.
Everyone's mood lightens up again. And then the boys felt something coming. Videl felt it, too, and she froze as she recognizes one of the kis that are approaching.
KRILLIN: They're here!
All the boys run to the side of the Lookout.
BULMA: Who's them?
ANDROID 18: Piccolo and the others.
CHI-CHI: Goten!
Bulma, Chi-Chi and the Ox King joins the boys. Android 18 follow with Marron. Videl just stood there, unmoving.
After a few moments, Piccolo, Gohan, Trunks and Goten arrived. The group greets them, especially Chi-Chi and Bulma.
BULMA: Trunks!
Bulma cried again as he held Trunks tightly, who is also overjoyed into seeing his mother until she squeezed him very tightly he almost suffocated.
Chi-Chi is already crying before she even reached his sons. She embraced the two of them all at once.
CHI-CHI: You're both here! You're both here!
GOHAN: Mom...
Goten just laughs, happy to see his family whole again. The family that he grew up with, at least. But Chi-Chis tears doesn't want to stop. Even his father came closer to meet his grandsons and console his daughter.
CHI-CHI: I was devastated when I found out that Gohan died. Even if I know we could still bring you with the dragon balls, it still crushed my heart!
GOHAN: Mom... actually, I did not die.
CHI-CHI: Huh?
Everyone was surprised at what Gohan said. Chi-Chi stopped crying because of shock. Videl, who is silently listening, felt like her heart bursts as it was confirmed what she felt about Gohan's death. She slowly walks toward them.
GOHAN: I was almost dead, but Supreme Kai brought me to his planet. They treated my injuries and I trained a little. Things happened, and then I came back here.
CHI-CHI: Then, Videl's right.
GOHAN: Hmn?
Everyone looks at Videl. The sudden shift in attention made her stop coming closer.
GOHAN: Videl!
Videl's eyes well up upon seeing Gohan. Her breath becomes shallow as she tries to stop herself from crying.
Gohan walks to her, stopping inches away from her.
GOHAN: It's nice to see you again.
Videl's tears flowed down without her permission, but she was so overwhelmed it seems she cannot control anything about herself anymore.
VIDEL: Where have you been?! I was so worried! You said you'll come back! You never came back!
She was pounding him on his chest. Gohan doesn't seem to be affected anyways. He is actually smiling at her. He just lets her hit him.
VIDEL: They thought you were dead. I thought you were dead! But you promised you'll come back! I never believed you were dead!
The group watched the two, all of them smiling. Bulma goes to Chi-Chi and placed a hand on her shoulder.
BULMA: I think she'll make a good wife for him.
CHI-CHI: I agree.
When Videl's rant ended, she just continued crying. She cried so hard it felt as if she's pouring her heart out. She's crying while she leans onto Gohan's chest.
Gohan just stares at her, not knowing what to do. His arms sat awkwardly by his side, though there was a huge urge in him to hold Videl. He doesn't know why, so he just remained awkwardly standing like that.
When she finally takes hold of herself, Videl realized what she's been doing. She is actually leaning onto Gohan's chest! She steps back instantly, then looks at Gohan's face that flashed her an awkward smile. Gohan even scratched his head like a shy boy the way he typically does.
That made Videl blushed, as the realization of what she has been doing finally hit her.
VIDEL: I'm... I-I'm sorry...
Gohan looks at Videl as she wipes away the tears from her face. He suddenly felt the urge to do that himself. It felt weird seeing her cry. Like that weird thing that he felt when she suddenly started pounding on his chest, like he was afraid she's mad at him and he needed to do something to appease her.
And then it finally hits him. What his father said back then at the Sacred World of the Kais.
When you fall in love, you become scared.
Gohan smiled.
GOHAN: (on his mind) I guess I'm finally starting to understand what you meant, Dad.
Videl realizes that everyone is watching them. She feels more embarrassed. She looks down as she feels her face becomes more red.
GOHAN: I'm sorry...
Videl looks up, and he saw Gohan staring at her. And the way that he stares, it's that look that makes her heart beat faster. Like he went on training for hours. But she doesn't feel tired. Actually, her whole body feels more active, more energetic. Her whole soul feels more alive.
She looks away.
VIDEL: It's okay... Don't look at me like that.
Gohan is confused. What's wrong with him looking?
GOHAN: Okay...
Gohan feels a little lost again. He doesn't know what to do. He actually doesn't know what to say. All he knows is that he still would like to talk to Videl, to be with her. He wants her to look at him, but she's looking away from him and if he doesn't do anything about it, she might just leave him and join the others.
GOHAN: I saw your dad...
Videl looks at him.
GOHAN: He kind of recognized me from the tournament.
VIDEL: Really? But... Majin Buu killed everyone.
GOHAN: Well, I guess he spared them.
Videl gazed at Gohan, trying to absorb what he just said. By instinct she looks at Piccolo.
PICCOLO: I told you, Majin Buu considers him a friend.
CHI-CHI: Oh, Piccolo! Why do you have to join in their conversation and get in the way?
PICCOLO: But she looked at me! She was asking for answers!
CHI-CHI: You should have been more sensitive.
Piccolo just let it pass. Anyway, he doesn't know how to argue with the woman that even a Super Saiyan could not defeat himself.
VIDEL: Wow... Dad has... talents...
GOHAN: He sure does know his way on people. He literally saved the world.
VIDEL: You can say that, but... he still owes you something.
GOHAN: What do you mean?
VIDEL: Cell.
Gohan is quite taken aback.
GOHAN: So, you know?
VIDEL: Yeah... your father told me about it.
GOHAN: I see... You know what... Now, I remember. That time with Cell, when Android 16's head was suddenly thrown in front of me... Maybe it was your father who did that.
VIDEL: Huh?
Gohan chuckled at the realization.
GOHAN: If he didn't do that, then maybe I wasn't able to do what I had to do... Maybe your father is really the savior of the world.
VIDEL: Oh, you're embarrassing me.
Gohan laughs at Videl's meh expression.
VIDEL: But... where is he?
GOHAN: I actually don't know what happened because the last thing I know I was absorbed by Majin Buu.
Everyone was shocked at what Gohan said.
GOHAN: Maybe Dad took him with him... Yeah...
Gohan turns around to face everyone, especially his mother.
GOHAN: Dad came back... He wanted to join with me. Like, maybe fuse.
TRUNKS AND GOTEN: Fusion!
GOHAN: Yes, but it's different. He has these earrings from Supreme Kai... Too bad I got absorbed before it happened.
PICCOLO: I could not imagine the immense power it could result to if Goku and you merged.
KRILLIN: Wait... Are you saying that Buu absorbed you? Not eaten like a chocolate or candy? Just absorbed you?
GOHAN: Yes. Actually, Piccolo and Gotenks got absorbed first.
CHI-CHI: What! He absorbed Goten?
BULMA: That monster!
Bulma examines Trunks as if she's a doctor examining her patient.
BULMA: What if he did something to you while you're inside him? We should have you checked when we get home.
TRUNKS: Mom, I'm okay.
GOTEN: Me, too!
CHI-CHI: You don't know that, Goten. Bulma, I'm taking Goten to the doctor as well.
BULMA: Right!
CHI-CHI: You too, Gohan. We have to check you up.
KRILLIN: Hey, how about Piccolo?
PICCOLO: I'M NOT A CHILD OF A CERTAIN MOTHER TO DO THAT!
Everyone laughs at Piccolo's reaction. Even Gohan and Videl finally feels relaxed. As they look at each other, they smile and somehow, they don't feel so awkward anymore. But that feeling inside them making their hearts beat faster is something that seems to stay.
The group was enjoying themselves again when they felt a familiar group of kis. As they turn around to see where that came from, Goku, Vegeta and Dende come out from the bushes.
GOKU: Hey!
GOTEN: Dad!
Everyone rushes at the three. Piccolo and Mr. Popo went to Dende. The little guardian was greeted by a tight hug from Mr. Popo as Piccolo looks on.
Goku is greeted by his family. Goten was the first to come to him, making him almost stumble as he flies to embrace him. Gohan was next.
GOHAN: I thought I won't see you again!
GOKU: That's also what I thought, but here I am.
CHI-CHI: Goku!
Chi-Chi rushes to her husband. Gohan gave way to his mother as she embraced her husband. Goku hugs him on his free hand (he's still carrying Goten) and gave her a kiss on her head.
Trunks rushed to Vegeta, but since the older Saiyan is not the hugging type, he just held his hand.
TRUNKS: Dad!
Vegeta's heart melted upon seeing his son's joyful greeting. And then, his wife.
BULMA: Vegeta...
Bulma is teary-eyed. She herself would want to hug him, but she knows he would rather be caught dead than let others see him be affectionate with his family.
BULMA: It's nice to see you again.
Vegeta looks at her. He's not smiling, but that look reassured Bulma that he feels the same joy as she and Trunks do.
Videl is happy to see the reunion, but since she's aware that his father is with them, she can't help but look for him. Also, she can feel his ki. It's not as strong as the others, but still...
Suddenly, Mr. Satan emerged from where Goku and the others came from.
VIDEL: Dad...
For whatever happened, Videl is still happy to see her father again. After all, he's the only family that she has.
Mr. Satan teared up when he saw Videl.
MR. SATAN: Videl!
He rushed to her and embraced her tightly.
MR. SATAN: Oh, I'm so glad. You're alive! They said you were dead.
VIDEL: I was... but something happened.
MR. SATAN: Whatever it is, I'm glad.
Mr. Satan hugs her again.
VIDEL: Dad, you're squishing me.
MR. SATAN: I'm sorry, I am just so happy.
Videl looks at her dad. They have a lot to talk about, but maybe that can be done later. Right now, they just need to enjoy the moment of being together again.
And then, she felt something. Not just her, but the others as well. And from the corner where her father came from, a dog suddenly comes running, sniffing around. Videl is breathing a sigh of relief, until a pink chubby figure comes out as well.
VIDEL: Dad!
Everyone was frightened at the sight of Majin Buu, except for Goku and Vegeta and Dende, and of course, Mr. Satan. The others were actually getting ready to attack him, with Trunks leading the way.
GOKU: Whoa! Easy, Trunks!
The young Saiyan looks at Goku, quite confused.
VEGETA: It's okay, Son. He's our... guest.
TRUNKS: Dad?
GOHAN: Dad, what is happening?
GOKU: Well, uh...
Goku scratches the back of his head and gives them his signature laugh.
GOKU: This Buu happens to be the Good Buu. He's not bad like the one we fought.
MASTER ROSHI: Goku, don't tell me you managed to make friends with your opponent once again.
Goku just laughs.
KRILLIN: Typical Goku.
BULMA: Well, as long as he doesn't hurt us.
MR. SATAN: No, he won't! I promised. I will take full responsibility over him.
BULMA: Now I'm more worried.
VIDEL: Dad... are you saying that... that... thing... He's staying with us?
MR. SATAN: Uh-hu...
VIDEL: Like, really live in our house?
MR. SATAN: Yes.
Videl suddenly feels worried.
GOKU: Don't worry, Videl. Everything's fine.
Videl looks at Goku.
VIDEL: Are you sure?
GOKU: Yes. Buu is not like he used to be. All the evil that's in his heart came out, and that is the other Buu that we defeated. This Buu is perfectly clean.
Videl looks at Majin Buu. Well, the chubby pink guy seems goofy and harmless. Maybe Goku is right.
VIDEL: Okay...
MR. SATAN: And Bee, too.
Videl looks at the dog that is now on his father's arms.
VIDEL: Of course.
TRUNKS: Uhm, Dad...
Vegeta looks down at Trunks who is now holding his hand.
VEGETA: What is it?
TRUNKS: (points at Vegeta's head) You're not dead anymore, right?
Vegeta looks up to where his halo used to be.
GOKU: He was brought back when we wished for every good people to be back on Earth. Turns out he's not evil after all.
Everyone laughs at what Goku said, as Vegeta scowled in embarrassment.
GOHAN: Dad...
GOKU: Hmn?
GOHAN: You're also... not dead?
Gohan points at Goku's head where the halo usually is. Now that made everyone shocked.
GOKU: Well... yeah.
Goku grins.
CHI-CHI: But... Goku...
Chi-Chi slowly went closer to her husband. Goku welcomes her with open arms.
GOKU: Old Kai gave his life to me.
GOHAN: Great Old Kai?
Goku smiles at Gohan.
GOKU: That's right. So now... (looks at Chi-Chi) I'm not dead anymore.
CHI-CHI: You mean... you mean you can actually live with us again?
Goku smiles as he nods. Chi-Chi's tears welled up again.
CHI-CHI: Like... in our house? Together... You and me and Goten and Gohan...
Goku is also starting to get teary-eyed as he pulls his wife into a tight embrace.
CHI-CHI: Oh Goku...
She continuously cried in his arms.
GOKU: Hey, Chi-Chi...
CHI-CHI: I know... I know...
But Chi-Chi did not stop crying. Everyone else was affected by that emotional encounter. Even Vegeta. He looks at his wife, and when he sees Bulma wiping her tears he grabbed her hand and held it tightly. Bulma was surprised at what he did, but she smiled when she saw that look on her husband's face.
GOKU: Chi-Chi... stop crying, will you? You're making yourself dehydrated.
CHI-CHI: I can't...
Goku bents over and whispers in her ears.
GOKU: If you don't stop, I'm going to kiss you in front of everyone like there's no tomorrow.
Chi-Chi pinches Goku on his side.
GOKU: (exaggerated) Aww! Chi-Chi, that hurts!
CHI-CHI: Then stop being naughty!
Goku chuckles, and it made Chi-Chi giggle as well. Everyone laughs with them.
Mr. Stan then moves closer to Goku and the others.
MR. SATAN: Uhm...
GOKU: Huh?
MR. SATAN: Goku...
GOKU: What is it?
MR. SATAN: I just want to say sorry... about that time on the Cell Games.
VIDEL: Dad...
MR. SATAN: (looks at Videl) I'm sorry, Videl. I'm really not the one who defeated Cell.
Mr. Satan looks at Videl with guilt and remorse. He is ready to face the anger of his daughter, but instead she smiles at him, much to his surprise.
VIDEL: I know, Dad.
MR. SATAN: (surprised) Huh? You... know?
VIDEL: (nods) Uh-huh... Don't you realize I have been spending time with the people who really know the truth?
MR. SATAN: I'm sorry...
VIDEL: It's okay... I didn't like what you did, but I'm glad you still told me the truth.
MR. SATAN: Oh, my baby!
Mr. Satan once again embraced Videl.
VIDEL: Dad! You're squishing me again!
MR. SATAN: Okay! I'm sorry. I'll stop.
Mr. Satan looks at Goku once again.
MR. SATAN: I hope you forgive me as well.
GOKU: Well, it's not me whom you should ask forgiveness from.
MR. SATAN: Hmn?
GOKU: You were there, so you know who really defeated Cell, right?
Mr. Sata looks at Gohan.
MR. SATAN: Was he that kid...?
GOKU: Yeah. It was Gohan.
MR. SATAN: Gohan... I'm sorry.
Gohan blushes. He smiles embarrassingly as he scratches the back of his head.
GOHAN: Let's... forget about that.
MR. SATAN: You saved me. If you didn't take me then I might have exploded with the Earth.
GOHAN: I... got to do what I had to do... Ha-ha!
MR. SATAN: (looks at Videl) I remember, you were with him at the tournament. So... you already knew that time?
VIDEL: Well, sort of. I knew you weren't the one who killed Cell, but I didn't know it was Gohan. I also could not believe it as well.
MR. SATAN: Well, these people are unbelievable. If you've only seen him back then during the Cell Games... he's very strong!
Mr. Satan suddenly remembers something. He looks at Gohan, then at Videl, then back at Gohan. The others noticed what he did and were bewildered. He then moved closer to Videl and whispered to her ears.
MR. SATAN: So, you're really dating this guy? Well, if it's him I can say I approve. He's super strong and I know he can take care of you-
VIDEL: Dad!
Videl is blushing. She can't even turn around to see if the others might have heard what his father said.
MR. SATAN: I'm just saying, you know...
CHI-CHI: What is it you're saying?
MR. SATAN: Huh?
CHI-CHI: You looked at Gohan and it's kind of suspicious.
MR. SATAN: Well, you see-
VIDEL: Don't say it, Dad!
Videl literally covered his father's mouth and dragged him away from the others.
VIDEL: Please, Dad. It's embarrassing.
MR. SATAN: What is the problem? You seem to like that guy.
Videl's face turn more red.
VIDEL: Just... don't... okay?
The others are still bewildered at how the two are acting.
CHI-CHI: Hey! What is happening down there?
VIDEL: Nothing!
Videl grins at them. When she caught sight of Gohan who is innocently looking at her, she blushed some more.
KRILLIN: So… what now?
Goku looks at Chi-Chi.
GOKU: Let's go back home?
Chi-Chi smiles and nods at him.
Goku looks at the others.
GOKU: Hold on to me so I can take everyone to Capsule Corporation… Hey, Mr. Satan!
Mr. Satan and Videl looks at Goku.
GOKU: Let's go to Capsule Corp.
MR. SATAN: Capsule Corp? Why would we go there?
VIDEL: Let's just come with them, Dad.
The father and daughter come closer to the others as they all said their goodbyes to Piccolo, Dende and Mr. Popo. After which, they all held onto each other, with Goku holding Chi-Chi on his left arm and Gohan holding on to Goku's let shoulder.
Instantly, there were transported to Capsule Corporation.
