A.N. Hey everyone! We're gonna pick up the pace a little, season two will probably be the shortest season I write. Don't worry, I spent a lot of time on seasons three and four!
Chapter Twenty
Killua and Ayami made their way back to Gon's room together and found him already meditating. As they settled in to join him Gon opened one eye.
"Aya, your phone keeps dinging."
"It's probably Kalluto, I'll call him later." Gon closed his eyes again as Killuas snapped open.
"You actually kept in touch with him?" Killua asked.
"Yeah, he's a good kid. Kinda reminds me of you. He's stuck at home so we talk a lot." Ayami shrugged, eyes still closed. Killua stared, thinking of the brother he never bonded with, and sighed, deciding he'd ask about it later. They meditated for most of the day only taking a break for food. Soon enough, it was time for Ayami's match with Gido. She stood across the ring from him, bat in hand.
"We have an interesting fight today folks! A grudge match between Ayami and Gido! If you didn't know, Gido severely injured Gon during their match the other day, and Ayami was not happy about it! She's made it through all of her matches with only a single kick so far, but she appears to be wielding a bat today! Everyone, place your bets!"
"Ready? Begin!" Ayami didn't move as Gido sent out ten of his spinning tops carefully watching them move as the announcer screamed above her. One rushed towards her and she spun, swinging her bat and connecting, hitting it out of the ring. Gido visibly jolted and Ayami smirked at him, rushing forward. His tops were fast but Ayami was faster, weaving through them and batting the ones she couldn't dodge out of the way. She spun suddenly, taking a top to the ribs but swung her bat into another, sending it flying into Gido as she was knocked backwards. Gidos' eyes widened but he didn't have time to react as his own top slammed into him. He barely managed to catch himself but regained his balance by beginning to spin on his metal leg.
"And the referee awards a clean hit to both contenders! And Gido has started his signature move, tornado top! Oh, but Ayami is already on the move!" The announcer screamed as Ayami rushed forwards, sending another top his way that ricocheted off his spinning body. Ayami rushed forwards as well, dodging the tops he sent her way. Unbeknownst to Ayami, her aura roared around her suddenly extending around her body and the bat in hand, using Ren despite Wing never teaching it to her. As she reinforced her bat with Ren she rushed towards him and slid on the ground past him, slamming her bat into his leg as she went, abruptly ending his spinning and sending him flying across the ring. Not giving him a chance to react she rushed after him, jumping high into the air and raising her bat.
"This is for Gon!" Ayami snarled as she slammed the bat into his head, instantly knocking him out.
"Ayami is awarded with a clean hit and knock down, followed by a critical hit! Gido cannot continue to fight! Ayami wins by KO with a total of five points!" The announcer screamed as Ayami made her way off the ring towards the infirmary. Wing, Zushi, and Killua met her there as the medic began examining her ribs.
"That was so cool!" Zushi yelled as he ran into the room, Wing and Killua walking behind him. "You were so fast Ayami!"
"Thanks Zushi." Ayami laughed, leaning over to ruffle his hair but winced when her ribs ached at the movement.
"I'm impressed, Ayami. You beat Gido and only took one real hit." Wing commented.
"Thanks Mr. Wing. Gidos pretty fast but Killua's grandpa is way faster." Ayami laughed. Killua grinned at her.
"Oh, right, I forgot that you trained with Gramps. He's pretty fast, for an old timer."
"He's fast in general, I swear I got so many bruises from him. I was able to dodge the tops because your Grandfather basically used me for target practice, and he's much faster than Gido." Ayami laughed.
"Ayami, do you know what technique you used at the end? When you hit Gido with your bat?"
"Technique? I don't think I used one."
"You did. You used both Ren and Shu, a fairly advanced Nen technique."
"Oh, I didn't know." Ayami shrugged nonchalantly.
"Ayami, how old were you when you lost your memories?"
"Six-ish." Wings eyes narrowed. She had to have learned Shu before the accident. So young…
In the end, Gidos top managed to break two of her ribs, but caused no further damage. She spent the next two months with Killua and Gon, meditating and generally just goofing off. Nothing of interest happened besides Hisoka's fight with Kastro, which she and Killua watched together. Their time passed quickly and soon they were allowed to train again. They rewatched Hisoka's fight with Kastro and Wing taught them about Gyo, In, and Ren. Wing was a great teacher and the three of them learned quickly.
The three creepy men who threatened them their first day, Gido, Riehlvelt, and Sadaso threatened Zushi and forced Ayami, Gon, and Killua to sign up for a fight with each of them, although Gido refused to fight Ayami again. Ayami suspected that Killua did something to Sadaso because he didn't show up to any of their fights. Killua denied it when she asked, insisting that he 'just scared him a little'. Ayami knew better but let it be. Ayami was set to fight Riehlvelt June 5th. Gon beat Gido in their rematch and broke his metal leg, winning both his and Killuas victories. Time flew by and Ayami practiced Ten and Ren and eventually mastered Gyo. Then it was time. The day of her fight she strapped on the throwing knives she'd stolen during the Hunters Exam and entered the Arena. Riehlvelt smirked at her confidently from his wheelchair and Ayami raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.
"Ready? Begin!" Their referee yelled. Riehlvelt immeadietly pulled out two long whips and started flinging them around quickly, making an impenetrable wall.
"Sorry girl, but I've seen how fast you are. I'll not let you anywhere near me." Riehlvelt cackled madly. Ayami ignored his words, carefully watching the whips move. When she figured it out she whipped two of her throwing knives and threw them, impaling both of his whips into the ground. Riehlvelt panicked, trying to yank them free but they wouldn't budge. When he looked up Ayami was running towards him. He panicked and went to move his wheelchair but Ayami threw four more knives and punctured the wheels, rendering him immoble. She jumped and landed an axe kick to his head, knocking him out and winning her match.
Killua faced Riehlvelt a few days later and won easily, then won his match against Gido by default. Gon beat Riehlvelt as well and earned his chance to fight Hisoka.
