Several days passed after that where no one at the guild saw Happy,Natsu or Nashi at all. Everyone was concerned and wanted to go see him but nobody knew what to say to him and they all knew saying the wrong thing could flare up his temper and make him lash out. "Have you two been by to see him?" Makarov asked Gray and Erza. They shook their heads depressingly. "I thought it best to leave him but now I see that might have been a bad idea"said Erza. "not even seeing Happy is concerning enough"added Gray. "hmm, I think you two alone need to see him soon"suggested Makarov. "come on Gray, we have to go complete that job they asked us" "I dont eve" but she cut him before he finished " I don't either but the best thing to do right now unless we want to storm his house is go do this job and try to go see him, now let's go" she said firmly. Displeased, he got up and they both walked out when they looked and saw Happy but he was walking in a zig zag line. "Happy" Gray called. Happy looked and saw them then fell flat on his face. "Happy!" they both cried as they went over to him. Erza turned him over laying him on her knees while Happy very groggily opened his eyes. "Happy ,are you okay?" Gray asked worried. Rubbing his eyes he answered " I..havent't gotten much sleep..Natsu.." "What about Natsu"said Gray. "he..he hasn't slept at all, he's been obsessing himself with trying to find a lead to where Lucy might be." " Well I guess, that's a good thing, at least he's focused on something" Gray noticed. "No, you guys he's ONLY focused on it" Happy protested. "he hasn't said hardly two words to me and Nashi, forget it, he's not t..aking care of himself or heer" his words started to mumble together with big tears in his eyes.
"Happy..where is Nashi now?"Erza asked questionably. "OH CRAP!" Happy sprang up and was running back towards the house. "I'll see you guys later!" he yelled. Erza clenched her hands into fists. "Easy Erza" Gray advised looking at how mad she was getting ."That bastard made Lucy do this , we are going to find him ..AND MAKE HIM PAY!" she turned on her heels stomping away from Magnolia leaving gray stunned but he understood exactly what she meant and she was right. "That dirtbag took Lucy..my sister away damn straight he will get it" he thought to himself. "GRAY, YOU WANT TO GET THIS JOB DONE OR NOT!" she boomed. "Yipe, yes Ma'am" Gray said running to keep up with her.
"Nashi are you here?" said Happy bursting through the door. "I'm here Happy" he heard then went to her room . She was sitting there playing. "thank goodness"he said relief filling him as he freely let himself fall to the floor on his back. " Is he not back yet?" Happy asked. She had a negative look on her face telling him all he needed to know. Natsu would leave for hours without saying where he was going leaving Nashi all alone if it wasn't for Happy. Knowing someone needed to take care of her, Happy didn't go anywhere but stayed with Nashi. What happened just a few minutes ago was that he was so tire, he was just wandering half asleep but Erza snapped him out of asking about Nashi. Just then Natsu came through the door and went to a desk. Muttering words to himself, he crossed off different parts of a map he was looking at. "Damn , where the hell could she be" he thought frustrated. "Daddy, daddy" Nashi came running and grabbed his leg. "Not now Nashi" he said indignantly. " But daddy come on" Nash insisted looking at him with playful eyes. "I cant" "But daddy". "NASHI IGNEEL DRAGNEEL, I SAID NOOO" His voice reverberating through the house as his boiling anger was unleashed. " HAPPY, GET HER OUT OF HERE NOW!" he ordered. Without hesitating, he ran for Nashi who looked like her world had just come crashing down and grabbed her hand zooming for the door. He threw it open and slammed it behind him. Nashi was shaking like a leaf as Happy hugged her to him. He was just as surprised and scared as she was. Never in his whole life had he seen Natsu yell like that. Even when he did loose his temper, he never flared up like he just did. Nashi just sobbed in his arms while Happy couldn't help but do the same.
Later that night when things finally seemed to have calmed down, he quietly opened the door leading Nashi inside. Natsu was leaning over something and didn't give the slightest acknowledgment as they crept slowly to her room. Happy got Nash to her room where she ran for her bed and buried her self- head and all under her covers shaking. Happy had been staying with her so she wouldn't be alone. He went to close the door when he caught a brief glimpse of Natsu's face, he just looked wild and the dark bags under his eyes from not sleeping did not help. He shut the door not wanting to see anymore. "There has! to be something, she can't just fucking disappear, no way damn it" yelled Natsu. " I know ,she is out there!" Fed up , he threw everything he was looking at onto the floor and wailed "AHHHHHHHHHH" incomprehensible noise just came out of his mouth as tears and sweat poured off him .He went to his knees and continued wailing. Nashi was absolutely petrified in her bed. "It's okay Nashi, I'm right here, just close your eyes"said Happy comfortingly.
The next morning Nashi and Happy were alone. "Natsu must have gone sometime early this morning" He and Nashi had finally fallen asleep after Natsu was done crying. "come on Nashi, let's get you something to eat" he said with a smile as Nashi got herself up and to the table. Happy got her some breakfast and placed in front her. She wasn't smiling this morning which he wondered how long it would be before she had finally gotten to that point. This whole time Happy had seen Nashi smile and optimistic but he wondered when she was going to finally break down. "I guess all it was took was Natsu..idiot" he thought then Natsu walked through the door. "You shouldn't have yelled at her Natsu"he scolded. "What?"said Natsu. Feeling brave, he stood up on the table looking directly at Natsu and said without wavering "You heard me!, you shouldn't have yelled at Iggy like that, she didn't do anything wrong!"
Suddenly the door was opened and two figures walked through it. They grabbed Natsu and dragged him outside. " Stay here Nashi" urged Happy as he quickly went out the door. Natsu mad as hell and annoyed tried to fight the people hanging onto him as he was slammed into a tree and held there. " Natsu, jesus, get a hold of your damn self, you look like a freaking animal" He looked up and saw Gray and Erza with very disapproving looks on their faces. "we were headed up here and heard Happy yelling so we grabbed you"explained Erza. "Let me go!" Natsu snarled baring his teeth. "What has happened to you"questioned Erza. Natsu still fought to get loose but from their grip but it was solid. "Natsu, you fucking idiot, look at yourself, what do you think Lucy would say if she saw you like this huh!" "well she's not here so she can't give an opinion" " You think you're the only one who misses her!" Erza snapped at him." we all do, everyone at the guild, master Makarov, the two of us, we all do, NOT JUST YOU!" She yelled at him. " You guys don't understand" . "DON'T UNDERSTAND!" yelled Erza and Gray. Gray pushed himself right in front of Natsu's face and said in a low voice "do you remember three years ago, when you gone asshole, that year Lucy was by herself. The year she took care of Nashi BY HERSELF, WELL NOW YOU KNOW WHAT SHE FELT! her heart was broken man but you know what, she picked herself up and tried. She tried everyday for her and for your daughter. I know because I helped through a majority of it!. She didn't do the shit you doing right now" Gray sniped at him. Natsu's face had gone sullen as he looked at his friends. " What about your daughter Natsu, you going to leave her too because you can make damn sure Gray and I and everyone at the guild will take care of her. We are not her parents however so tell me , are you!" She then took him in both of her hands throwing Gray off him and threw Natsu into the river clothes and all. His head busted through the water as he yelled "what the hell was that for" "you need to to cool off and clear your head"she answered straight. Nashi had come running out at that moment and stood behind Happy. Tears pouring down her face as she looked at Natsu. "Daddy" she pleaded. Looking at his daughters broken and sad face, his head cleared and he thought "I'm such a fucking idiot" He swam for the shore and climbed himself out.
Drenched in water, he slowly walked over to Happy and Nashi. Happy had arms around her defensively. He was scared to death but he wouldn't let Natsu hurt Nashi no matter what. Natsu very calmly squatted himself down to the ground in front of them and sat on his knees. Nashi had her hands covering his face still crying but she looked at Natsu through her fingers. "I ...am so sorry Nashi, I did not mean to yell at your or for you to ever see me like that. I'm..I'm hurt right now Iggy but that doesn't make it right for me to take it out on you..or you Happy" he picked up a hand to gently rub Happy's head. "buddy, I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am for how i have treated you. You took care of Nashi for me. I'll never be able to thank you enough for that" "You dddont have too"said Happy. His voice craking. Natsu got a small smile on his face. "Youu,never have to thank me, Natsuuuuuu!" he broke down and hugged himself to Natsu's leg while Natsu took Nashi and hugged her to him. Erza and Gray smiled looking at them. "Can you guys ever forgive me?"Natsu asked now in tears with the other two. Happy shook his head yes while Nashi in an empathetic voice said " I love you daddy" and threw her arms around his neck ." Oh I love you too baby, more than anything" He put a hand around the back of her head resting his head on her shoulder pulling her close and closing his eyes. He rubbed her head up and down. After a while of pure emotions. "Iggy, why don't you go take a nap okay"Natsu said gently wiping the tears off his face. "Happy, can you please go with her and help her change out of her wet clothes and stay with her for a bit?" he asked. "sure ,what about you"Happy said. "i'm gonna talk to Gray and Erza and then I'll be in to take a nap too, thanks buddy" Happy nodded in acknowledgment as he went inside
"So, you feel better now?"asked Erza. "yeah but i feel like a damn idiot, I completely ignored them." "we'll find her Natsu"assured Gray. "how can you be so sure, it's like her scent is completely gone"sulked Natsu. "ha, dude, did you forget the guild or what that emblem on your arm means" Gray joked lightly. "It means Fairy Tail won't give up until we find her no matter how long and you can bet your ass on that one" he grabbed Natsu's hand and shook it making Natsu look at him with hope. "Thanks you guys, both of you. he got himself up off the ground and put his arms around Gray and Erza hugging them. "Go get some sleep Natsu, you need it, you look like hell" said Erza as her and Gray took off to leave. "gee thanks "he said back grinning. Erza smiled warmly back at him. Natsu walked in expecting to see Nashi and Happy in her room but was happily surprised to see them asleep on his bed. Without waking her up, he carefully slid Nashi over so he could get in and then pulled her back to him. She automatically snuggled into him making him blush. Happy was right beside her. Feeling exhausted beyond belief, he looked at the ceiling and thought "finally sleep" as his eyelids closed and was fast asleep.
