Previously on A Poke Tail Mitsumi successfully foiled Hunter Jay's attempt at capturing the super rare pokemon Heatran. Team Erza is preparing to continue their journey to Iron Island and Team Gajeel are currently lost. (I know it has been a long time since the last update, I am very sorry and I really hope you enjoy the new chapters.)

~Team Erza~

Erza and Lizabeth left the pokemon center and headed towards Slateport's museum after getting pidgey fixed up.

They didn't find Andrew at the Museum unfortunately though.

Blaire "Maybe he went to the soda shop or something."

Lizabeth "Hmmm, maybe."

They walked back towards the beach where the soda shop was when they came across a crowd on the beach.

There were a lot of women present. Many were giggling aand waving to someone on the beach. The giggling intensified as a big boisterous laugh rang from the crowd.

Blaire "Oh no! I have a bad feeling about this."

Lizabeth "That sounds like the Captain's laugh."

The girls pushed their way through the crowd.

Erza "Captain Lockeye we have..."

She paused somewhat flabbergasted. Captain Lockeye and his old friend Captain Stern were relaxing on a couple lounge chairs in nothing but their speedos.

Blaire blushed "Oh my!"

Lizabeth was trying her best to not laugh.

Erza "Uh Captain?"

Captain Lockeye "Well you all finished your shopping I see."

They all nodded their heads.

Lockeye "This is my old friend and mentor Captain Stern."

Stern "Ahoy there!"

Lizabeth "Have you been enjoying your down time captains?"

Lockeye "Oh yes! There's nothing like reminiscing and soaking up some sun with an old friend."

Blaire "We are sorry to disturb you, but we have some new Intel and need to head out as soon as we find Andrew."

Stern "I think I saw the young man go into the soda shop over there. He was following a pretty girl."

Blaire "Of course he was."

Lizabeth "We will be right back Captain. It was nice meeting you Captain Stern."

Blaire "Be ready to battle Erza. You might be challenged to a pokemon battle in the soda shop."

Erza "Why it's just a soda shop?"

Blaire "Yeah but lots of trainers like to hang out here. Also is you defeat all the trainers you get a free six pack."

Erza eyes sparkled "Oh really?"

She handed pidgey over to Lizabeth and brought turtwig out of his pokeball. It only took ten minutes for them to challenge and defeat the three pokemon trainers in the soda shop. Turtwig was a little tired afterwards but his chest was puffed up with pride.

The others could only look on in awe. The pair was obviously getting better every day.

Andrew "Whoa!"

Lizabeth "Andrew there you are!"

Erza grinned "Great job turtwig. We make a great team!"

Proprietor "Well now that was some amazing battling. I think you both deserve a soda. It will help you restore your energy."

Erza "Thank you sir. Here you go turtwig, drink up."

Turtwig nodded and gulped down his drink.

Lizabeth "Ready to go you two?"

Erza nodded as she put turtwig back in his pokeball.

They walked back to where the Captains were waiting for them. They luckily had put a few more articles of clothing back on by the time they got there.

They said goodbye to Captain Stern on the shore and then headed towards Iron Island on the S.S. Helena.

~Team Romeo~

Wendy and her friends were waiting backstage for the contest to start.

Gracie Joy "You ready Wendy?"

Wendy smiled "Yes!"

Carla "Alright we'll be right in the stands cheering you on okay. Don't be nervous."

Wendy nodded as her friends walked away to find seats.

Wisteria town had it's own contest arena situated inside a big tent.

Wendy "Okay so we have to treat this like a real contest. Oh, no I'm getting nervous already."

"Osha-oshawott!"

Wendy looked down to see Oshawott at her feet.

Wendy grinned "Thanks for cheering me on, but how do you keep getting out of your pokeball?"

"Oshawott."

Wendy giggled "Well it's alright, let's do our best today okay."

Oshawott nodded at her.

Stage hand "Okay everybody we're about to start. Please line up back stage by your registration number.

Wendy returned Oshawott to his pokeball and ran to the end of the line. She would be the last to go on stage for the first round.

Announcer "Hello everybody and welcome to Wisteria town! I hope you all have been enjoying the festival so far!"

The crowd cheered excitedly.

Romeo "Whoa what a great crowd!"

Gracied "Yeah maybe I should have competed too. The energy here is contagious."

Announcer "My name is Stacy and I'll be your host for today. Now let's meet our judges! First up is the Mayor of Wisteria town, Mrs. Stephanie! Next is our very own Nurse Joy! And finally our guest judge is Top coordinator Harley!"

All the judges stood up and bowed to the audience applause.

Carla "Gracie isn't that your mom?"

Gracie giggled "No that's my aunt Joy. She's my mom's older sister."

Carla "They look exactly alike."

Gracie "Yeah there are a lot of Nurse Joys in Sinnoh and they all look alike and I am related to all of them somehow or another."

Carla "Oh wow!"

Romeo "I don't think they look exactly alike. "

They turned to look at Romeo a little surprised.

Romeo blushed "What?"

Stacy "Today we have nine contestants in our competition. Since this is not an official contest our coordinators will not be vying for a ribbon, but for this special prize!"

A spotlight suddenly focused on a table in front of the judges. Sitting in the middle of the table was a bright pink pokemon egg in its glass jar. The crowd erupted into another round of applause.

wendy "Wow a pokemon egg!"

Stacy "This pokemon egg was generously donated to us by Wisteria town's pokemon center. Now let's begin the show! First up is George!"

A young boy stepped out from behind the curtain and bowed to the audience. He looked very much like a coordinator while decked out in his black tuxedo and neatly combed red hair. He was obviously taking this competition very seriously.

George "Eevee, Center!"

George's eevee appeared inside a fluffy white cloud. Eevee's silhouette could be seen faintly.

George "Eevee use protect."

Eevee created a bright green bubble and highlighted its silhouette even more.

George " Now use double team!"

Eevee quickly made ten copies of itself and they too were silhouetted in the billowy cloud.

George "Alright let's finish up. Eevee use hidden power."

All the eevee clones launched a hidden power attack and the bright green balls of light formed a circle around stage before moved upwards causing the white smoke to disperse. Once the cloud was destroyed eevee bowed to the crowd as the bright green sparkles left behind by its attack fell gently around it.

The crowd cheered loudly at the beautiful display. George and his eevee took another bow.

Stacy "Oh wow! That was pretty amazing! The crowd sure seemed to enjoy it, let's see what the judges have to say."

The judges gave him great scores since they enjoyed his mysterious performance.

Stacy "Great job George and eevee! Next up is Nicole."

He was followed by seven more contestants who did their best but weren't quite to meet the standard he had set. Wendy was the last person to compete in the first round.

"Alright everybody we are having a great appeal round and we are now up to our last coordinator! Are you all ready to welcome her to the stage?" said Stacy.

The crowd cheered loudly.

Stacy giggled "Alright then, please welcome Wendy from Fiore!"

Carla "It's finally Wendy's turn!"

Romeo "Woohoo, go Wendy!"

Gracie giggled at her friends excitement.

Wendy ran out excitedly but froze when she saw the crowd in the stands.

"Oh no I'm nervous again!" she thought to herself as she searched the crowd of faces.

Stacy "You can start whenever your ready."

Wendy continued to stare at the crowd until she spotted her friends.

Carla "Wendy! You can do it!"

Romeo and Gracie were waving enthusiastically at her too.

Wendy smiled "Okay. Pidove let's fly!"

Pidove appeared midflight, surrounded by golden dust sparkles.

Wendy "Pidove, spin and use gust!"

Pidove began spinning while using creating a wind with it's gust attack.

The wind picked up the gold dust and followed pidove as it made an arc above the stage.

Wendy "Now use wing attack. "

Pidove made a quick u-turn and retraced its flight back through the arc and scattered the gold dust once again.

Wendy "Now finish up with quick attack!"

Pidove's speedy move took the scattered gold dust out over the crowd.

The crowd cheered loudly for Wendy and Pidove. Some of the children were reaching up trying catch the glittering gold dust.

Pidove returned to the stage and landed on Wendy's head. They took a small bow as the crowd continued to cheer.

~Team Natsu~

Natsu and his friends had managed to outrun the swarm of angry beedrill and were now busy trying to catch their breath.

Lucy "Oh man! Those things are no joke!"

Juvia "I hope we don't meet anymore beedrill ever again. Gray-sama are you ok?"

Gray "Yeah I'm fine."

Lucy "Okay let me check the map to make sure we are still on the right path."

Natsu "Happy fly up and scout ahead for us a little."

Happy nodded and took off into the sky.

Lucy "I think we are still headed the right direction, but we are probably still a day behind Mirajane's group."

Gray "I'm sure we will catch up to them."

Natsu "When is lunch time?"

Gray "We just had breakfast!"

Lucy "We will stop for lunch later. Let's put some miles behind us please."

~Team Romeo~

Stacy "The judges have finished their deliberation. Our four semifinalists are George, Melissa, Carolina, and Wendy!"

The crowd cheered excitedly.

Romeo "Way to go Wendy!"

Stacy "Okay so the contestants will now compete in the battle round as follows: George vs Wendy and Melissa vs Carolina."

"Oh man I have to face George first?" Wendy thought.

George "Humph this should be easy. It's obvious your an amateur. That pokemon egg is as good as mine."

Wendy frowned "That what you think! I'm a fairy tail wizard! If you think you can beat me that easily you are sadly mistaken!"

George looked taken aback by her outburst, but she was totally pumped now. There was no way she was going to lose to this stuck up little kid.

Stacy "Will our first two contestants take their places please?"

Wendy glared at George the whole time as they walked out into the arena.

Stacy "Alright three minutes on the clock. Ready, begin!"

George "Farfetch'd center!"

Wendy "Oshawott, let's fly!"

Romeo "Oh wow a new pokemon."

Pokedex "Farfetch'd the wild duck pokemon. The sprig of green onions it holds is it's weapon. It is used much like a metal sword."

Farfetch'd stood stoically as bright white sparkles exploded behind it.

Oshawott appeared happily with a little spin and winked at the judges.

George "Farfetch'd start with fury cutter!"

Wendy "Quick Oshawott use water gun."

Oshawott's water gun stopped Farfetch'd attack easily.

Stacy "Uh oh George will lose some points for that."

George grit his teeth "Farfetch'd jump up and use fury cutter again."

"Oshawott use razor shell." Wendy called.

A magnificent display ensued as Farfetch'd and Oshawott's attacks clashed.

Stacy "Wow look at that folks they look like two swordsman dueling!"

Oshawott blocked all of his opponents moves with his shell.

Wendy "Great job Oshawott, keep it up!"

He made one final upwards thrust to knock Farfetch'd off his feet.

Stacy "That was an excellent attack by Oshawott and will cost George some more precious points."

George "I can't believe this amateur is beating us! Farfetch'd get up and use aerial ace!"

Wendy "Dodge it!"

Oshawott quickly jumped out of the way as Farfetch'd swooped past him.

Wendy "He's coming back around. Jump and use water gun."

Oshawott successfully dodged again and aimed his water gun at Farfetch'd back. It was a direct hit and knocked him to the ground.

Stacy "Oh no! It looks like Farfetch'd is unable to continue. The victory goes to Wendy!"

Wendy and Oshawott jumped up and down in celebration. The crowd went wild.

Stacy "That was an amazing first semifinal battle folks! Great job to both contestants!"

The two of them walked off stage as Stacy called up the next two coordinators.

George "Hey Wendy."

Wendy "Yes?"

George stretched out his hand to her.

"That was a great battle. I'm sorry I called you an amateur." he said.

Wendy smiled and shook his hand. "Apology accepted. I hope we get to meet again on the stage." she said.

George nodded to her before walking away.
