Her head was aching and even though her eyes were closed, she felt like the room was spinning. It was still dark so it must be early morning at least, she thought as she slowly opened her eyes and confirmed her thoughts as she looked up at a window, the rain was still coming down quite heavily with sudden strikes of lightning illuminating the darkroom for a few moments as she sighed.

"you're awake"

She heard causing her to sigh as she looked down at the foot of her bed and saw his amber eyes looking at her in the darkness but to her surprise, they looked…gentle, almost…worried even as she slowly lifted the mask from her face after she took a deep breath.

"you're…still…here?"

"you sound surprised"

"I…thought…you…would…be tired…of…me…by…now"

"funny…I was about to say the same thing" he said as he came closer to her, sitting on the foot of her bed.

"so…then…why are you…still…here?" she asked, even in the dark his eyes gave away his feelings.

"I'm a selfish man aria, and also…an unfair one…I'm more animal than man, but even I can admit when I'm wrong…it just takes a while and sometimes…an unfortunate event" he said with a sigh.

"so…what are you trying to say?"

"I'm not leaving…my beast would probably take over and force me back here, not that I don't want to be with you… I need to…ask your forgiveness for my behaviour, you're the first fe….woman that I have ever felt this way about and I didn't know how to care for you other than what I knew. But you're not a beast like me and I can't expect you to understand what you don't know…I'm not a romantic and probably never will be…but I want to be what you need, a companion not just a partner… seeing you lying there helpless just goes to show how…powerless I am about you, I can't remember feeling fear till I saw you like that… I will never be a gentleman, I'm a beast and I always will be, but you…you're worth…compromising for"

She listened to him as his words spun around her head as she looked at him before slowly sitting up.

"you're asking a lot victor, from the moment I met you…you have done nothing except…try to own me, control me…even when you hurt my feelings…you just wanted what you wanted. While I am surprised that this side of you even exists… I don't know if I can just forgive the number of times that you've frightened and tried to control me"

"I did say that I am selfish for even considering that…you will accept me after how I've treated you, but I am also proud enough to show you that I can and will be the best ma…husband that you could ever ask for.

She looked at him before she sighed and closed her eyes as the rain continued to pour outside.

Aria hummed as she walked down the institute's hallways, she was rather chipper that morning and it showed as she wore a rather cute yellow and white sundress with her hair tied up in a ponytail and matching white slippers on her feet, it was a nice summer day and she was feeling quite happy that morning as she went to get herself a cup of tea.

"aria" she heard in her mind, having finally gotten used to the professors speaking to her telepathically

"good morning professor"

"good morning dear how are you this morning"

"I'm fine thank you and you"

"fine thank you, I hope you don't mind this aria but I have a few parents coming in today and I would love for you and Ororo to show them around the institute today, I have already arranged for substitutes to handle your classes if that's alright"

"sure, thing professor, what time will they be arriving?"

"in an hour's time aria, thank you for helping"

"no problem, I'll see you then"

"see you then" she heard before she felt the link break before she began to make her tea as she continued to hum to herself while waiting for Ororo to join her before going to meet the professor.

"good job ladies," the professor said as they waved goodbye to the convoy of cars that were now pulling out of the school, as the professor expected, the tour went quite well and from what it seemed, the school would be expecting some new students very soon.

"you're welcome professor" Ororo smiled as they both turned to face him, Ororo had taken some time off the X-men for herself and had just gotten back from a little vacation the night before only to learn that the rest of the team had gone on a mission.

"yeah it was no problem at all" aria replied with a smile as well.

"well then ladies, since your classes have been taken care of for today, why not take the day off"

"Are you sure professor, "aria asked him.

"I insist ladies, take the day to yourselves "he smiled before he went back to his office leaving them outside before they looked at each other

"brunch?"

"sure thing"

"you know aria, I know you must have been asked this but I have to know something…it has been, eight months since that night when sabretooth rescued you and then he just disappeared, even I know that he is not one to give up on something, especially not his mate, so…what happened " Ororo asked as they sat on a table outside a quaint little café as that waited for their food.

Aria smiled as she stirred her drink with her straw before looking at her.

"I said what was on my mind, let him know what I really thought of him and that was it" she simply replied causing Ororo to raise a brow at that.

"so…he's gone?"

"… yes, more or less"

"would you be mad if I don't truly believe that?"

"…nope" she replied as she looked at her with a smile before the waited brought their food and they began to eat and talk about other things.

It was late afternoon when they got back to the institute, they decided to get their nails done and go shopping once they finished eating, aria hummed as she drove back into the institute as they got out of the car and walked into the building with their bags. Aria smiled as she watched some of the children play outside as they also enjoyed the nice weather.

"Thanks for the outing aria, "Ororo said as they entered the building "I'm going to go and put my stuff away, so I'll see you later"

"see you later Ororo" she smiled as she turned and began to walk to her own bed room as she hummed with a smile as she unlocked the door and stepped into her room, she dropped her bags and locked her door before she felt a presence behind her, the large hand that held the door close confirmed her feeling before she turned around and met a pair of familiar amber eyes

"hey kitten…I'm back" she heard before she gave a smile.

"Welcome back"
