Party for Anna's 35th Birthday

Article in the Arendelle Kingdom Courier:

The castle gates were open today for Queen Anna's thirty fifth birthday hosted by her husband, Prince Kristoff and the Elsa, otherwise known as the Snow Queen. We hear that a great time was had by all participants. There were magic shows and fortunetelling provided by the Enchanted Magical Brothers and singing and dancing by The Singing Nobles of Arendelle. We are told that the gates will close for a private party at eight, so go and enjoy while you can. You have been warned.

Kristoff threw down the local paper. "Some surprise," he said, looking at Anna. "I'm sorry, my love, I wanted this to be your special day."

Anna smiled, ruffled his hair and moved closer. She folded her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. "It was beautiful, Kristoff. You, Elsa, Henrik and Fredric did a great job."

Kristoff just stared at her, his brown eyes wide and his mouth forming a small O. "You really didn't mind the entire kingdom was there?"

Anna shook her head. "As long as you were there by my side to help me celebrate, I couldn't have cared less. Right now, you are all I care about. "

They were about to kiss when a male voice boomed behind them.

"I'll tell you, guys, my brother and I are a little upset that we weren't even included."

Kristoff looked up and Anna turned her head. There stood a twin, but they weren't sure which one.

"I couldn't have done this without either of you," Anna said, walking over to Fredric or was it Henrik? Well whoever it was, they deserved a kiss on the cheek.

The twin laughed. "You have no idea which one I am, do you?"

Anna turned to Kristoff, but he was smiling. "Fredric, I'd know you anywhere. And I happen to know that Henrik is with…"

"Right here," Henrik's voice popped up. He was right in back of him, with his arm around Elsa. A beautiful dark haired woman stood next to her. "You were right this time, Kristoff, but you may not be right in the future."

Kristoff smiled and put his arm around his wife. "You really think that you're going to get off that easy? Well, you're wrong. We have the second annual Family Fun Fest to plan out and that will start as soon as tomorrow. Do you mind staying over tonight and maybe tomorrow night?"

"As long as my brother and Kirsten are here with me, I don't mind one bit."

Fredric held out his arms and the dark haired beauty with the biggest brown eyes Kristoff ever seen ran into them.

Kristoff smiled as Anna rested her head on his shoulder. "Well, I think the party is finally shutting down, but I for one need some rest. Your Highness, the Queen requests a private audience with her Consort."

Kristoff smiled and bowed. "I am always at your service, my lady."

He put his arm around Anna and headed for the castle. "Anyone else coming?"

"I'm right in back of you," Fredric answered, putting his arm around the dark haired woman.

"We'll catch up," Elsa said. "I want to talk to Henrik first, if that's alright with him,"

Henrik smiled. "You read my mind. I need to talk to you, too."

"Great minds think alike." Elsa said, wrapping his arm in hers. "Follow me; I know this castle like the back of my hand."

"You did a beautiful job with Fredric." Elsa said, making their way to the greenhouse. "He's a totally different person."

Henrik smiled and nodded. "Once he started believing me and believed in himself, he changed rapidly. Kirsten came along at the right time and she brought her sister, Freja, with her."

"She's beautiful, Henrik," Elsa said, "and I'm sure her sister is as well."

"She is," Henrik said, smiling. "She reminds me of you and I love her. I should introduce you two sometime. You'd adore her."

"So you're ready to settle down finally?"

Henrik looked at her face and shook his head. "I will never settle down, Elsa and if I do, it will be with you and only you. Freja is beautiful, but she's only twenty. Kirsten is twenty five and Fredric is in love with her, for now anyway. They are of Sami descent and human."

"You know, Henrik, I'm not ready for marriage just yet. You don't have to wait for me…"

Henrik kissed her, hard. When they broke apart, he stared at her. "I know, Elsa. If I decide to do to anything, you'll be the first to know."

"In the meantime," Elsa said, "we'd better get inside and close those gates. There's another surprise party that Kristoff and I worked on that Anna has no idea about. Everyone's kept it really quiet."

"What is Kristoff doing now?"

Elsa smiled. "He's keeping her busy, I wouldn't worry about it."

Henrik smiled. "I might not be back for a while, Elsa. I don't know how long, but I know we'll see each other for the third Family Fun Festival. Fredric and I are really booked. I might even call upon The Nobles of Arendelle to sing at a special show every now and then, but I have to talk to Kristoff about that. You've all got great voices."

"I'm sure he'll say yes, as long as it's once in a while," Elsa said. "The Queen is very busy and so is her Consort, but I think we'll be able to spend some time with you and your brother."

Henrik smiled and brushed her cheek. "No matter what happens, we will always be friends and you, Anna and Kristoff can call on us anytime and we'll be there."

"Hey, you two," Kristoff's voice came from behind. "Come on, I need you upstairs. Anna is getting a bit antsy. "

"Where is she now, Kristoff," Henrik asked, standing up, and then he held out his hand to help Elsa up.

"She's with Fredric and Kirsten," he answered. "We can all talk a little more tomorrow before we start the planning meeting. Right now, I need you up there."

"I'll handle it," Elsa said, kissing her brother in law on the forehead. "There are two ways into Anna's study. All you have to worry about is to keep her as far away from that room as you can. Got it?"

Kristoff nodded. "Got it," and he smiled.

And the three turned to leave.

When they got upstairs, Kristoff steered Anna away, pretending he needed Anna to help him find something that he thought he lost. Once he did that, Elsa and Henrik were free to bring Fredric and Kirsten into the party without Anna knowing.

This party ended up the way Kristoff wanted the first one to be, a surprise. And a great time was had by all.
