Chapter 20

Eventful Week

Jacob's POV

Monday morning I woke up confused where I was till I remembered the move. I rolled over towards Nessie and woke her up to get ready for work. We drove her buggy into work.

"Man my whole body is sore." She commented on the walk to her classroom.

"I'll try to be more gentle next time." I joked.

"Oh haha very funny," she says with a sly smile.

"I was talking about strenuous work from moving."

"I know, my shoulders are pretty sore too."

"Maybe I can give you a back rub tonight." She suggests when we enter her office.

"I'll see you in a few hours." She tells me.

I make it to my classroom. All the kids are abuzz about Fridays talent show.

"Did you see the show?" One student asked another.

"Yeah it was so cool, especially Ms. Swans part of it." The student mentioned.

"Dude when she sang bring me to life, it sounded like Amy lee."

I even heard some rumors though out the day.

"I heard she used to be in a 90's girl band." One said.

Then there were more spot on truths to the rumors.

"Did you hear her solo, everyone's saying she sang it to Mr. Black"

"My friend saw him back stage after she finished on stage."

These kids were pretty observant.

My class before lunch was doing a pretty good job for a Monday, I excused them 5 minutes early for lunch.

I locked up my class just as the lunch bell rang. I walked over to Nessie class, students began walking out.

"Hey Mr. Black!"

One kid high fives me.

A pack of girls walk past me giggling.

Once everyone was gone I slipped in closing the door behind me. Nessie was gathering papers off her piano top.

"Hey Jakey."

"Hey there beautiful." I say coming close enough to peck her lips.

She hums.

"How's the day going so far?" She asks walking into her office.

"Not too bad." I say leaning against the doorframe.

"Been hearing whispers about you?" I tell her.

"Oh god what are those kids saying now?" She asks mused.

"Well apparently you were once in a 90's girl band."

Nessie laughs.

"Some are saying you're the true singing voice of some famous celebrities."

"Well that's a stretch."

"But my favorite one is actually true."

She raises her brow at me.

"They're saying you were singing to me."

She walks over to me with a smile.

"Well sometimes these kids just know it all."

"Let's go, I'm starving."

She say grabbing her purse.

We decide to dine in for some sushi this time around.

I ordered 4 random rolls for myself. Ness order a crunch roll, gyoza and a bowl of udon.

"So for this weekend, I'll borrow some tables and chairs from Rachel. We could put two tables out on the balcony."

"That would be so great. I've been stressing about seating and tables."

"I got you covered baby."

"What should we do for food?" She asks.

"I was thinking we could order some bbq. Embry mentioned this great bbq place that has party size options."

"That would be great, takes some pressure off of us to make food for everyone." She tells me.

"I'll look up the place and see what kind of food bundles they have."

"We can do it tonight after the furniture comes."

"Sounds goods." I tell her as I stuff my face with tuna rolls.

We make it back to work with 15 minute till our next class started.

"I'm so full, I regret ordering those two extra rolls." I say sitting at her desk.

"I told you so." She says with a laugh.

Her cellphone rings. She fishes for it in her bag.

"It's Carlisle." She tells me.

Ah good old doctor Cullen, wonder what he's calling for.

"Oh Carlisle thanks for getting back to me. Oh no it's nothing urgent, nothing like that. I just wanted to ask you if you could recommend a good OBGYN out here?"

An OBGYN?

"Well you know my situation, I'd like someone that understands my condition..."

"I trust your judgment. You know that..."

"Yeah give me a second."

Nessie reaches over me to grab a post-it note and pen.

"Okay, Dr. Alistair Normand...Port Angeles medical center. Great! I'll look him up and give his office a call. Thank you so much Carlisle. We'll you and Esme be coming this weekend?"

"Oh I see, no it's not problem. I did plan it last minute, you two have a good time. Okay, say hi to Esme for me. Alright, bye." She hangs up and turned to me.

"Well Carlisle and Esme are a no show this weekend. They have a planned anniversary trip."

"Well two less people I guess." I tell her.

"So you're looking for an OBGYN out here?" I ask.

"Yeah, figured Carlisle knew the doctors around here. I called him this morning but he was busy." She tells me.

"Is there a reason you want to make an appointment so soon after we..."

She looked confused then it dawned on her.

"Oh no Jake that's not why. I'm just due for a check up, plus I haven't had my regular period in a few months I'm starting to get anxious about it. I've been meaning to find one. It's just a big coincidence I promise." She explains.

I felt a little dumb for asking, of course she'd need to see one eventually. Even if we weren't having sex.

"Ness calm down, I get it. Even if you did want to be sure and get tested, I'm okay with it. It's the responsible thing to do."

"Okay. Sorry it's really just all a weird coincidence."

"Don't be, have you been feeling okay lately?"

"Yeah nothing too crazy."

"Okay good, you let me know if that's changes."

She smiles.

"I will. I love you."

"I love you too honey."

She leans down kissing my lips. I pull her to sit on my lap. Her arms land around my shoulders. I run my hand up her leg.

"So, how about that desert?" I ask squeezing her leg.

She chuckles.

"In a five minute window before our next class. No way."

"Rain check?" I ask.

"Yeah... at home."

I frown disappointed.

The bell rings

"Well good call I guess," I say standing.

"See you after work." I peck her lips once more before heading off to my class.

My last class was a bit rowdy. Monday got the better of them.

"Okay we'll finish this up tomorrow. Please finish the assignment tonight on your own and we'll go over it first this tomorrow so we can continue into the next section."

They start packing up their bags.

The dismissal bell rang and they scurried off.

I finished the last few things I needed for tomorrow's lessons.

A knock at the doorframe got my attention.

"Hey, ready to go?" Nessie asks.

"Yeah just getting my stuff together." I say grabbing my laptop bag.

I packed up everything and locked up.

"Let's go."

"So internet being installed tomorrow?" I asked.

"It's becoming a busy week."

We met the furniture delivery men downstairs. They brought up the new kitchen table, chairs, and the two nightstand. Ness directed them where she wanted the dinning table, chairs, and bedside tables. I watched and observed. Once they were done, Ness signed a confirmation form and she gave them a tip.

I volunteered to escort them down with elevator access. I waved them off and went back up to the apartment.

When I get back I see Nessie at the kitchen table. I can tell she's excited about everything coming together.

"Table looks great sweetheart." I say setting her keys down.

"I know right? And the bedside tables fit perfectly in the room thankfully."

"It's all coming together baby, want to start prepping for dinner?" I ask her.

We begin making a chicken parmesan meal. I handled the chicken while Ness made some mash potato's and a side salad.

I popped the chicken in the oven on low for the final step. I come up behind Nessie as she's adding tomatoes, black olives and red union to the lettuce.

"You're telling me, when she moved in I almost knocked down the living room wall trying to move in her giant furniture." Charlie said making us chuckle.

"You're all coming to the housewarming party Saturday right?" Nessie asks.

"Of course were gunna be there Hun, want to check out the new place." Billy told her.

"Yeah its got to pass the dad seal of approval." Charlie says.

Nessie rolls her eyes.

Wednesday Nessie and I stayed home after work, ordered Chinese food, watched a movie and made love on the couch.

On Thursday Nessie took a personal day off from work. She made that OBGYN appointment. I wish I could have gone with her. She seamed nervous. It felt weird going into work alone.

NESSIE'S POV

I was making my way up to Port Angeles today. Dr. Alistair Normand had an opening today and I jumped at the opportunity. I needed my annual Pap smear done plus I had my concerns about my period. And... and I wanted to get his second option on my capabilities of getting pregnant. I know my lack of periods alone was a bad sign but maybe he could help me more then my past doctor. I wanted some hope.

I entered the lobby and signed myself in. Sitting in these waiting rooms always made me sad. I was surrounded by pregnant woman. I envied them. Today I wanted to be more positive.

"Ms. Swan? Renesmee?" The nurse calls.

"That's me." I say making my way to her.

"This way please." She leads me down a hall way into a small room with a hight, weigh and blood pressure machine.

"Okay, lets check your hight."

I stand under it and she writes down.

"5'4, okay now weight,"

I stand on the scale.

"120, alright now were gonna take your blood pressure. Please take a seat."

I sit down and she wrapped the blood pressure machine around my arm.

"Just relax." She starts the machine.

The machine beeps to life, applying pressure to my arm. I try to be calm.

The beeping stops and the bag deflated. She checks the machine.

"Blood pressure is a little high, are you nervous?"

She asks.

"Umm, yeah I little I guess.

"It's alright Hun, this way now."

She takes me into an examining room.

"Okay so your here for an annual Pap smear. When was your last period?"

"Two months ago, that's another reason I'm here." I tell her.

"I see, could you possibly be pregnant?" She asks. I smirk.

"No, I have a history of endometriosis.

All my recorded were faxed over."

She turns the pages.

"Right you are. Okay so, no allergies to medications, any illnesses in your family history ?"

"No and no."

"Alright."

Before she leaves she hands me a hospital dress and sheet. Tells me to dress down, and that the doctor would be in shortly.

I do as she says and dress in the gown. I sit on the examining table. Legs dangling nervously. I wish Jake was here, he always keeps me calm.

The door then opened and a middle aged man walks in.

"Hello Renesmee, I'm doctor Alistair Normand it's good to meet you." He offers me his hand.

"Good to meet you too doctor." I say shaking his hand.

"Carlisle said you're his, daughter in-law?" He asks.

"Yes by my sisters marriage."

"Oh I see, too many kids to keep track of. Now your here for your Pap smear screening. And I see you've missed a couple periods. Any other problems your experiencing with your endometriosis? Any pain?"

"Once in a while, it mostly hurts when I do get my period."

"I see,"

He writes something down.

"Are you sexually active?" He asks.

"Yes." I say with a slight blush.

"Would you also like an STD screening with your Pap smear?"

I wasn't planning on it, Jake was the one to bring it up. I trusted him completely. But he was also right, it was the responsible thing to do.

"Yes." I answered

"Okay and is your relationship serious? Are you looking to try and get pregnant?"

This dude is a mind reader or something.

"Yes its a serious relationship, I did want to ask if there could be a chance at a pregnancy down the line."

"Okay well let me take your Pap smear sample and we can get into your conception possibilities."

"Okay."

He calls in the nurse to begin my Pap smear exam.

"Alright all done. Why don't you get dressed and meet me in my office across the hall, it will give me time to look over your past charts."

"Sounds good."

I clean myself up and get dressed. I walk out into the hall and find his office. I knock first.

"Come in Renesmee, have a seat."

I sit across from him.

"Well I looked over your chart, and I have to tell you. It will be difficult, but there is a chance."

"What would I have to do?" I ask.

"Well first would be a mild hormonal oral treatment pill. If that doesn't cut it then we have a more invasive treatment, you'd have to injection yourself daily. You'd need to take it easy most of the pregnancy, you'd be at a high risk for miscarrying."

I nod taken aback. He see my uneasiness settle in.

"I've seen other woman go on this journey Renesmee and a good percentage of them achieve it. It is possible." He tried to reassure me.

"Thank you doctor, maybe down the line I'll comeback to it."

"Very well, now about your missed periods, I'm sure it's just a the endometriosis acting up. It should appear soon but if you're really concerned I'll prescribe you a mild hormone pill and it should speed things along and get you back on track.

"Yes that would be great."

"Alright," he pulls out his prescription pad and writes down the medication.

"It's a seven day supply, take it once after eating around the same time each day. If your period doesn't show up a few day after finishing the pills give me a call. Other then that I'll be mailing you your Pap results in the mail." He hands me the prescription.

"Perfect, thank you doctor. It was good to meet you. And I'll be back for that treatment, when the time comes."

"Good to meet you too, were always here to help. Take care Renesmee."

I leave the office and head for home. Once I reach Forks I drop off my prescription at the local pharmacy. I went home and layed down on the couch. I was tired from the drive. Plus I was starting to cramp up from the procedure. I ended up napping a bit on the couch only waking up to my cell phone ringing on the coffee table.

It was Jacob.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey sweetheart, how'd it go?"

"It went fine, nothing too crazy. He gave me a prescription to hopefully get my period going."

"You sound tired baby,"

"I am, ride took a lot out of me. Plus I'm feeling pretty crampy."

"Oh my poor baby, want me to pick up the prescription on the way home?"

"Well if you don't mind,"

"Not at all baby, I'll leaving work in a bit you just rest."

"Okay, thank you Jakey."

"Anything for you honey. Be home soon. I love you."

"I love you too."

We hang up and I fall back asleep. Sometime later I feel something skimming the bridge of my nose.

"Baby, I'm home." Jacob whispers.

My eyes flutter open.

"Hi Jakey" I say with my voice coated in sleep.

He smiles, leans down and kisses me. How I missed him today. I sit up, Jakes stays crouched next to the couch.

"What time is it?" I ask.

"Almost 4:00" he answered.

"I got your prescription, and a few goodies." He motions to the coffee table with my prescription and some sweets.

"Oh honey, you're so thoughtful. Thank you so much."

"Of course love. You're wish is my command." He pecks my lips and heads to the kitchen.

"What do you want for dinner?" He asks me.

"Nothing too crazy." I tell him.

"Well I could make some pasta, quesadillas, burritos, deli sandwich, what's sounding good to you?"

"Can we make breakfast for dinner?" I ask.

He chuckles coming back to me.

"Got the brinner craving?" He asks.

"Well you said burrito and I just thought of breakfast for some reason." I explain.

"What breakfast foods do you want?" He asks.

"Some eggs, bacon, maybe whip up a couple pancakes."

"Sounds good to me, why don't I run us a bath first."

"That sounds nice. Yes please."

He was so sweet with me. We went to the master bath. I sat on our bed while he started up filling up the tub. I stripped off my pants and blouse. I sat with just my panties and bralette. Jake came back into the room. Sees me and smiles. He pulls off his shirt and sits next to me to take his shoes off.

"So everything went okay?" He asks.

"Yeah, it was fine. Doctor was really nice. He seamed well versed with my condition."

"I even asked him ummm... if he thought it was possible for me to possible get pregnant someday.." I look over at him and he had a slight smile on his face.

"He said it would take some work, but that it was possible. He had patients that achieved it."

"Thats...such great news baby." He cradled my face and kiss me.

"See, I told you. We can make it happen baby. I'll do whatever I can to give you that. If it's what you want."

"Jacob, I love you so much and I...I just want to be able to...to give you a family one day."

He looks me straight in the eyes. His face serious.

"Renesmee, you're all I've ever wanted. You'll always be enough for me. Don't put too much pressure on yourself about children. I know you and I don't want you stressing about it. In a couple years, when were married, have our one house in order then we'll come back to this."

I get a little teary eyed.

"You want to marry me?" I ask.

"You know I do Ness, I asked how cheesy you wanted me to propose. I'm going to marry you Ness."

"You're gunna make me cry. I won't stress I promise. Yeah we'll come back to it in a few years." I lean forward and kiss him.

"Good. I think the baths ready, come on sweet girl." He says pulling me to the bathroom.

I pull my hair up into a bun.

We lay in the tub, my back to Jacobs front. He caresses my lower stomach. As the hot water and essential oils relax me.

"You feeling better?"

"Yeah much better Jakey. You always make me feel better."

He kiss behind my ear.

I lace my fingers through his.

"When do you think we'll get married?" I ask curious about his thoughts on the subject.

I can feel him smirk.

"Well if it was up to me I would have married you a long time ago."

"Be serious."

"So you'd want to get married soon?"

"In a perfect world yes but there's a lot to think about and Its not just about me."

"Do you know when you're proposing?"

He chuckles.

"I have a few ideas but I'm not telling you." He says with a laugh.

"I hate surprises." I whine.

"I think you'll like this surprise." He kisses my neck.

"Can you at least give me a time frame?" I ask.

"Ness that would give me away."

"Grrr."

He laughs.

He turns my head to him.

"Just know, it's coming." He kisses me and I forget about my investigation.

Once the water stated to cool off we hopped out of the tube and started our breakfast dinner.

I made a small batch of pancakes while Jake sizzled up the bacon and eggs.

We sat at the dinner table enjoying brinner.

Friday after work I made sure everything was squeaky clean for tomorrows party. Jake went over to Rachel's to borrow some tables. Quill and Embry tagged along to help. I cleaned the kitchen, dusted the living room, made sure the company bathroom was clean, swept and mopped the floors. The place was spotless.

Saturday morning Jake and I made and early trip to the market to pick up beverages, chips, dip, etc.

We showered, got ready and started getting set for our visitors to arrive. Seth and Leah volunteers to pick up the food on their way over.

"Excited honey?" Jake asks me.

"Actually yeah, I've never have enough family and friends around to do this before."

"I think you have more then enough now that you're in Forks."

The front door intercom buzzed.

"Here we go." Jake says with a smile.

I pecked his lips and walk over to the intercom.

Bella and Edward arrived first, as I showed them around the apartment Billy, Sue and dad arrived. Jacob went to let them use the elevator. Alice and Jasper showed up with Harper and Violet in tow. I missed them so much. I hugged and kissed them till they were annoyed with me.

Rachel and Paul arrived also in tow with Daisy and Ryan. They both raced over to me when they arrived. Then they saw Violet and Harper were also here and got beyond excited.

Soon the whole tribe started pouring in Quill, Clair, Embry, Sam, Emily, Jared, Kim and finally Seth and Leah with the food.

We were prepping the serving table when Rosalie, Emmett and Lucy show up.

"Sorry were late, I have a wife and a preteen. Have mercy on me." Emmett exclaimed. Rose smacked his arm.

The party was then in full swing. Everyone gravitates toward each other around the room and balcony. The food was excellent, glad we upped the portion size. Those Quillute boys knew how to eat. After the meal we had a few drinks. Alice came up to me.

"Okay so I got you something special for the house warming, but it hasn't gotten here yet. So this is a place holder." She hands me a medium sized rectangle.

"Alice you didn't have to..."

"It's nothing crazy I promise, just something I thought you'd like."

I start unwrapping and it's a frame with a picture. A candid picture of me and Jake. At what I think was the first time me met at the Cullens Bbq. We sat next to each other, close proximity, engrossed my each other. Gosh this felt like such a long time ago.

"How did you.."

"I always have a camera on hand for the kids, never know when you'll want to capture a moment. You two just looked so perfect. Already so infatuated with each other I couldn't resist."

"Alice you're such a creep, but I love this so much I'm willing to look past it. It's perfect, thank you."

I hug her.

"And let this photo prove that I am a psychic." She exclaimed.

Rosalie overhead her as she walks into the kitchen.

"Oh please I'm the one who told you to take the picture." Says Rosalie.

I chuckle.

"Yeah after I mentioned how cute they'd be as a couple." Alice exclaimed.

"You know, I recall a certain bet that has yet to be paid in full." Bella mentions. Rose stills wide eyed.

"Ah yes If I recall Rose has to go bare face for two weeks." I say.

The three of us stare at Rose. She gulps.

"Whose up for some wine!?" She shouts trying to change the subject.

We laugh.

I ventured out onto the balcony where the boys had assembled. Jake see me coming. He parts the sea of men to get to me.

"Everything good I there?" He asks.

"Yeah, just wanted to show you this." I hand him the picture.

He examines it, a smile spreading across on his handsome face.

"Who took this?"

"Alice."

"I knew her invasion of privacy would come in handy one day." He says with a smile. I chuckle.

"Man, feels like forever ago." He says still looking at the picture.

"I know, who would have thought."

"I mean, I did. I though you were a freakin angle that day. Couldn't stop thinking about you that night."

I lean up and kiss him softly.

"Get a room!" Emmett called out.

We pull apart Jacob laughed I gave Emmett a glare.

After setting the picture down in my room. I went back into the living room.

Rachel called me over.

"Ness! The place looks great."

"Thanks Rach."

"Were thinking of having a couples night on the Rez next weekend, you and Jake free?" Emily asks.

"Oh that's sounds fun, umm. I'm pretty sure we're free. I'll have to double check with Jake."

"Great! Let me know soon so we can have everyone on the same page."

"I'll text you tomorrow."

The rest of the night went on like that. Everyone loved the place. Dad even approved, thank goodness.

Alice and Jasper left first. The kids were knocked out on the couch. Rachel and Paul were right behind them with their little ones. Lucy started begging Emmett to leave already and Rosalie was tipsy from the wine so they left shortly after. Soon it was just Seth, Embry, Billy, Sue, Charlie, Edward and Bella left. They stayed and helped clean up a bit. Which I was grateful for, that was always the downside of a party.

Bella was putting away liquor bottles and left over food.

"Well party was a success." I said.

"Yeah, it was nice."

"How have you and peanut been feeling?" I ask

"Well the morning sickens is in full effect."

"Ouch." I winch.

"Yeah but whatcha gunna do?"

"Not much I guess."

"How'd your appointment go by the way?" She asks.

"Really well actually, the doctor seamed hopefully that I could maybe conceive one day."

"Oh munchkin!" She wrap her arms around me.

"That's so great. See I know that doctor back in Eureka was full of shit."

I laugh.

"He did say it would take some effort."

"Of course, but you and Jake will make it happen." She holds my hands. I nod with a smile.

Soon everyone was gone last ones to go we're Charlie, Sue and Billy. Jake went down with them. I stayed back.

I sat down on the edge of my bed and glanced over at the photo. Little did I know how important that man would turn out to be. How much I would come to love him. It's crazy how things come to be. I hear the front door open and close. His footsteps coming closer. The bed dipping as he sat next to me.

"Hey gorgeous." He says kissing my neck.

"Hey handsome." I say leaning into his kiss.

"I'm beat," He says leaning back into the bed.

"You're telling me." I say laying back with him.

"I'd say it was a successful party."

"Definitely, and I see we got a few gifts."

"Just a few. Bella and Edward got us a coffee maker. Emily and Sam got us a toaster. Clair got us a bathroom set. Alice said something was in the mail on its way. Rose got us a wine gift card, if I know her there's at least a 6 month supply of wine on the card."

"Not bad." He rolls over and hovers over me.

He brushes my hair always from my face.

"Lazy day tomorrow? Just you and me?" He asks caressing my cheek.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." I exclaimed pulling him into a kiss.
