Chapter 2x12: Battle Aftermaths
"Hey" - said Ethan as he tried to grab Nate's hand but Nate move his hand away
"Not right now Ethan" - said Nate angry
"Are you still mad at me?" - asked Ethan worried
"Of course I'm mad at you, you and Aiden got me in a headlock when everything started and both were threating to kill me" - said Nate looking at him mad
"I didn't want anything to happened to you, I knew if we got you like that and play as if we were gonna kill you they wouldn't go for you" - said Ethan
"You said he had an interested in me and Scott, that is why I said "Yes" to go with him to meet Deucalion, I was sure that nothing will happened to us, even if he didn't knew that like I do, I just didn't expected the rest to show up there" - explained Nate
"And yet nothing happened to you" - said Ethan
"You are right, nothing happened to ME" - said Nate turning to see Scott
"Ok, he is hurt, but he is not dead and you are not hurt at all" - said Ethan
"Because you kept me out of the battle" - said Nate turning to glare at the twin
"Of course I did, I didn't want you to ended up with an injury like him" - said Ethan
"Oh and Scott did needed an injury? You guys threaten my friends and Derek is-" - said Nate chocking on his words feeling like crying while his eyes watered - "I just hope he is not" - he added before turning away from Ethan
"He is an alpha, we don't die easily" - said Ethan
"Whatever" - said Nate and looked behind at Scott when Stiles asked him to show the injury and saw that it was still bad - "fuck...why hasn't he heal?" - asked Nate
"Is an Alpha wound, for a Beta is harder to heal" - explained Ethan
"Just shut up and tell me when you get a message about Ennis, I don't wanna get my hopes up like Erica...but I don't want Derek to die as well, he still my Alpha and I care for him, he save me from dead and my family" - said Nate
"I'm sorry" - said Ethan sounding like he really regretted everything
"What happened to me is in the past Ethan..." - said Nate
"No, I mean about your friend...and Derek" - said Ethan
"I don't want to make a scene on the bus Ethan, so shut up and don't even say anything about Erica and Derek again" - said Nate gritting through his teeth
Then they were silent and Ethan opted to look out the window while Nate looked back at Scott worried about his wound, then he turned to look at Boyd and Isaac and listen to Isaac trying to calm Boyd to not come and do something to Ethan, he wanted to go and say something to him but Scott beat him to it stopping Boyd before he could come close, then when Scott walked back Nate grabbed his hand
"You are not healing" - said Nate worried and Scott looked between him and Ethan
"I am...is just taking time, I'm gonna be fine, don't worry" - said Scott caressing Nate's hand with his thumb to ease his worrying and then walked back to his seat while Ethan let out a low and quiet growl but the silver haired werewolf could hear it
"What?" - asked Nate rolling his eyes and turning to Ethan
"He was caressing your hand" - said Ethan mad
"So? He is my friend and I'm worried about him" - said Nate
"But-" - started to say Ethan still mad
"But nothing" - snapped Nate at Ethan - "you don't get to complain, I'm mad with you right now, save it" - he said mad
Nate texted with Stiles trying to figure out what are they going to do about Scott not healing, he said that he talked with Lydia and Allison that are following the bus and that if they stopped the bus they could try to help Scott, so Nate stand up to talk with Coach.
"Grant, what do you want?" - asked the Coach
"I..." - started to say Nate trying to find an excuse and turned seeing Jared feeling sick - "I don't feel very well" - he said
"Are you sure? You seem pretty alright to me" - said the Coach
"Is just...I..." - said Nate trying to sound like losing his words - "I..." - he said and then he collapsed on the floor
"Oh fuck! Hey Grant! Stand up, come on" - said the Coach and he kneeled slapping lightly at Nate's face and blow his whistle in his face to see if he could get a response, he put his finger under Nate's nose to see if he was breathing.
"He needs air! I told you we should have a break!" - said Stiles
"Shut up Stilinski! Let's get out of the bus for a moment, you all can stretch out your legs while we see if this helps Grant to regain consciousness, someone help me with him" - said the Coach pulling Nate by the arm and putting his arm around him
Nate felt someone grabbing his other arm helping the Coach to get him out of the bus, he wasn't pass out for real, he was faking it to see if he could buy sometime for Scott to get help from Stiles and the others with his wound.
He felt grass under him as he was lowered on the ground outside and fresh air around him, he could hear Coach complaining about Jared vomiting on the bus after they got Nate out which he thought it would buy them even more time to help Scott.
"Grant! Grant! Come on!" - Called out the Coach while making him sit failing as Nate put his weight into not let himself being sit
"Maybe he is dehydrated" - said Danny
"Get me some water, this kid is heavy, let's sit him against a tree" - said Coach
Nate felt himself being moved again and something hard on his back while he was seated now, he guessed it was a tree like the Coach suggested
"Come on kid drink this" - said the Coach while putting a bottle of water against Nate's lips
"He could choke if you do it like that" - said Danny
"Well, be my guess" - said the Coach
Nate felt the bottle of water against his lips again but gentler than the coach and it made him took a sip trying to be more sympathetic about it and coughing a little while he did
"Oh good, you are fine" - said the Coach
"He pass out, I think that's far from fine Coach" - said Danny
"Can you talk Grant?" - asked the Coach
"I..." - said Nate trying to make his voice shaky
"There you go, I think he is better" - said the Coach
"He still seems a little shaken up" - said Danny
"Nonsense, come on" - said the Coach pulling Nate up just for him to fall again making him groan - "ok, he isn't ready" - he declared
"You think?" - said Danny incredulous as he helped Nate back against the tree
"Well, we better wait for a while for him to...Hey! What are you guys doing over there? Get back here!" - called out the Coach and Nate heard him walking away just like he heard a lot of people walking away from him
Nate groaned and opened his eyes slowly trying to make a good act in case someone was around him and when his sight got better he saw Stiles kneeling in front of him
"Well, there he is, the Oscar winner" - said Stiles with a smirk
"Oh shut up" - said Nate smirking - "did we help Scott?" - He asked
"Yeah, Allison is helping with his injury" - said Stiles
"Good" - said Nate
"That was a good number you did there" - said Stiles
"The perks of being dramatic" - joked Nate
"Let me help you" - said Stiles offering his hand to Nate to help him up - "If you didn't win an Oscar at least a Golden Globe or Emmy" - joked Stiles
"Oh come on, awards don't mean nothing, I'm doing it for the fans" - said Nate while waving around earning a laugh from Stiles and he smirked as well but then he felt lightheaded and grabbed his head, when he stumbled Stiles grabbed him
"Are you ok?" - asked Stiles worried
"I think my little act caught up with me" - joked Nate with a confused giggle
"Isaac! Isaac Stop!" - They heard the Coach said
"What the hell?" - Asked Nate walking holding to Stiles arm to the direction of the yelling and saw the blonde beating up Ethan - "Isaac! What the fuck?" - yelled Nate and moved to grab his ex-boyfriend pulling him away from the twin
"Isaac!" - Called out Scott - "Isaac stop" - he tried again but he kept fighting Nate to break free - "Isaac!" - Growled Scott and then he stopped
"Weren't you trying to stop Boyd to do the same before? What the hell?" - nagged Nate
"I was defending you and you are gonna get mad at me?" - asked Isaac
"What the fuck are you talking about?" - asked Nate
"He was talking trash about how he was with you, so I fucking beating him for you, not for Derek, but for you" - said Isaac
"My knight in shiny armor" - said Nate with a hand on his chest faking adoration - "he was teasing you and you bite the taunt stupid fuck" - he added
"Fine, be an ungrateful asshole, but I swear this is the last time I'm doing anything for you" - said Isaac mad walking away
"Fine!" - Yelled back Nate
Suddenly felt lightheaded again and run towards a tree before he barfed, he leaned against the tree confused about this feeling, something was wrong with him, but he didn't wanted to push the subject to the rest with all the drama around so he shut up and walked back to the bus with the rest of the students.
"Glad you are feeling better Grant, now let's get this going since the traffic is finally moving" - said the Coach
"Are you ok?" - asked Ethan as Nate sat next to him like before
"I should ask you the same after what Isaac did to you" - said Nate
"Nothing I can't heal from" - said Ethan with a smirk
"Well you owned him a beat up after you fake one to get him in trouble" - said Nate
"Are you defending your ex?" - asked Ethan a little mad
"See Ethan, I'm not in mood to talk about my love life right now, I think I'm feeling a little sick" - said Nate while massaging the sides of his head still feeling weird
"Don't worry, I will help you when we arrive, Dr. Love got it cover" - joked Ethan
"Since I'm feeling bad, I'm gonna allow that" - said Nate
"I was joking, we don't actually get sick" - said Ethan confused
"I know, which puzzles me about what I'm feeling" - said Nate with his arms in resting position over the back of the seat in front of him and putting his head between them
"Just rest a little and we will see when we arrive" - said Ethan more worried now while rubbing Nate's back
