The Storm Part 2
*George's point of view*
*three summers ago*
I drop the quill and feel a slight weight off my shoulder. I roll up the letter and place the wax seal on it. I walk to my closet and grab a periwinkle box. I open and it and press the letter onto the over-piled ones.
"Ready for that drink?" Fred yells.
"Yes one minute," I scream back. Placing the box gently, back into the cupboard. I walk into the living room and see Fred looking over a letter. His face seemed to drop in seriousness. "What is that? Who is it from? Hermione?" I questioned as my heart dropped to my toes.
Fred looked up and his expression changed quick, "No you git, it's not for you. It's from Angelina. Just some rubbish that's none of your business, now let's go and NOT ONE WORD about Hermione. Actually if you say her name, you have to drink," he smiled putting on his jacket. Crumbling up the letter and putting it in his pocket. "Grab a jacket, it looks like a storm is coming in."
"You just said we could talk about her," I said following him, putting on my jacket.
"I changed my mind, let's just have a good night yes?" He said locking the door behind him.
"You're right," I sighed walking down the stairs.
"When am I not?" He laughed, opening the door to the rain soaked streets.
*Present time, walking the streets with Hermione*
"George, are you even listening to me?" Hermione said, looking over to me after we apparated to the game.
"Yes, sorry I just zoned out," I said, looking at the dark grey sky.
"No worries, I seem to be doing that a lot lately too," she sighed, walking towards the Quidditch stadium. It was a light sprinkle of rain but it was starting to get harder. It was warm which I prefer. When it's freezing, EVERYWHERE on my body shrivels up and goosebumps are irritating.
"Ready for the game?" I said, half-heartedly to Hermione. We see Fred and Krum up ahead waving. I laugh because Fred trips and falls not paying attention to the fountain in front of him.
"Eh," she said shrugging.
"How many galleons you bet Fred is about trashed right now?" I asked.
"I bet you a drink he's only had ummmmm, 3,"she smiled mischievously.
"Deal," I said racing over to Fred. "Nice fall git, how many have you had?"
"Pfft, 2 butterbeers and a tiny fire whiskey," he said sadly, "that's all Krum had in the cooler.
I look back at Hermione and yell, "YOU CHEATED! I laughed while she was catching up to us.
"I would never," she said slyly, "guess you owe me a drink."
"I have to go but vish me luck," Krum said happily, kissing Hermione on the cheek. I roll my eyes and walk over next to Fred.
"Good luck," she said, waving goodbye. I look at the sky and the clouds were so dark it made it look like night time. A instant switch from day to night.
"Why haven't the re scheduled the game," she said nervously.
"Hermione, do you remember when Harry had to play in that storm and almost died? That was a "Hogwarts" team. THESE ARE PROFESSIONALS," I said seriously.
"Okay, geez calm down. You do realize Harry was dealing with Dementors too?" Hermione said.
"Exactly, so anything can happen! I hope there is tons of blood. I say we'll all too sober to continue this discussion so, lets go to the concession," Fred said cheerfully.
"I thought that's what you and Krum were doing in the first place?" Hermione questioned while we walked up to concession.
"Well, question police, we got everyone ponchos,"tossing them to Hermione and I. We also decided we should check the crowd first and your boy toy was running late anyway," Fred winking at me, making me roll my eyes. "Plus, do you realize how many people know your lover? We were surrounded when we first got here. I got 11 NUMBERS!"
"So, one phone number?" Hermione said smirking. I spit out some of the drink I had in my mouth, laughing.
"Well, aren't you witty?" Fred winked, grabbing his beer and leading the way. The rain starts pouring hard, so fast it looked like a waterfall. We have to use a face guard spell because the rain can hit you so hard from the speed of the brooms that it will literally send you to the hospital due to blood loss, etc. Fred was so upset when they made it a rule last year. We seen someone loss an eye from the raindrops fro a broom, hitting it like a dagger. It was so insane, Fred even tried to buy the eyeball off the guy. Lets all admit that more blood is more fun. Bruises and fucked up scars are our warrior marks.
We make it to the our special box, thanks to our lovely gorilla friend. The lights are so bright from the stadium it was almost blinding. Us 3 sit down and chat about Quidditch. We finish our drinks and then have another 7? If I keep this up I might say too much. The game had started and we were cheering and screaming so loud my voice is now hoarse.
The teams are on a timeout for an illegal move or some rubbish. I look over at Hermione and see her staring around at the people at the game. I can't believe she said, "wow," when she seen me earlier. It did put me in a better mood, I actually have enjoyed the day, considering. I guess Fred was right, I need to just let it go and stop begin so mopey. Not begin mopey has made me actually enjoy myself instead of hanging on to the past and letting it suffocate me. The fire whiskeys are definitely helping though and probably why I'm thinking all of this right now. I chuckle to myself.
"Whats so funny?" Hermione says nudging my shoulder.
"Oh, nothing, I just need another drink. Want to come?" I said, trying to get Fred's attention but he shooed me away with his hand. He found twins to talk to so I guess Hermione and I are no longer of interest.
"Sure," she smiled following me out of the stands. We walked to concession and got 3 more fire whiskies. "I don't think I can even taste these anymore," Hermione laughs, hiccuping after.
"Oh, you're definitely cut off," I said taking her shot from her.
"What! No," she yelled, taking it back and running.
"Are you mental woman you do realize I'm faster than you?" I put the shots down and start chasing her in the rain. My feet were splashing water so high from all the puddles. She was actually faster than I thought or maybe it's the whiskey. She stopped abruptly, taking the shot and I knocked into her. We fall into a mud puddle. I pulled her out and she looked horrendous. I started laughing so hard, she pushed me back into the mud.
"Now that's funny," she said laughing hysterically.
"Real mature Granger," I laughed pulling myself out.
"Wow, we need new clothes," she said shaking her muddy coated hands to try to get access mud off.
"We can run to the flat real quick?" I offered.
"Okay, the rain is dying down I guess so, it's not like that will wash us,"she said apparating. Wow, that was quick and now I suddenly feel nervous and sober. How did that happen so quick? I race over and grab the shots I left, downing both. I apparate to my flat and I don't see Hermione. I follow the trail of mud to my room. I see her clothes on my floor. My heart started to race faster than the Firebolt. I walk to the bathroom and see her looking at me. She walks over taking my jersey and pulling it up over my head. She starts to unbuckle my pants and I shove them off. She leads me to the shower and I step in. I look into her sparkling eyes, covered in mud and realized at this moment, she was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She puts her arms around my neck and gently presses her lips to mine. I then grab her head and passionately roll my tongue with hers. The hotness of the water was snow compared to how she made my body feel. I pull away from her and push the hair out of her eyes, behind her ear.
"Are you sure?" I whisper, out of breath.
"Yes," she said wrapping her leg around me and then kissing me harder than before. Lightning then strikes and the power went out. Thunder blares throughout the house.
The storm isn't over.
