Avengers Elseworlds Chapter 25

"OLIVER DON'T! Not to save me because you don't have to do this you have to channel that darkness. You can overcome it. You can be different. You can be better. Maybe that's it. Maybe that's The Monitor's test" said Barry

Oliver then lowered his arrow as Deegan released his hold on Barry as he then Thunderclaps the group and takes off with the book.

Back inside, Kara placed Frost and Diggle in the pipeline as once again reality is being changed

"What's happening? Asked Kara

"Deegan must be re-writing reality again" said Oliver.

"Or destroying it" said Clark

"I'm so getting really tired over this" Natasha adds

"There has to be a way to slow him down. We literally slow down time" said Barry.

"If Strange would have still had the time stone that wouldn't have been a problem" said Bruce.

"Actually even if I did, the Infinity Stones don't work outside their reality. It would've been a glorified fruity pebble"

"So without the stone how do we slow down time?" asked Natasha

"Maybe Barry and Kara and zoom around the world super fast that they reverse the rotation of the planet" Peter joked

"That's exactly how Parker" Barry said.

"Wait what?" said Peter

"If Supergirl and I travel around the globe at opposite directions just under Mach 7 we can create enough centrifugal force to slow down to slow the earth's rotation" Barry explained

"And everything else" added Kara

"We rip the book out of Deegan's hands and everything goes back to normal" said Oliver.

"We can do this. Let's just hope your idea works Spider-Man" said Kara as she and Barry start to leave.

"Wait... You can't. I watched you both die" soad Wanda

"What? How?" asked Clark

"The book. It showed me you both doing this exact thing. You both go fast enough to burn up your bodies out of existence"

"It's Destiny" added Oliver.

"I believe Wanda"

"Well we have to try something!" Kara said.

"Ready?"

"Yeah, Barry said as they both left.

"Kara's right, we have to try something. We'll try to hold off Deegan and grab that book while Barry and Kara try to slow down time" Carol said.

"We can't just let them die!" Peter protested

"We just gotta have faith their destiny isn't set in stone" Carol said.

"We're with you Captain" said T'Challa.

"All of us" added Natasha.

"Alright then. Avengers! Time to work for a living" said a Carol.

"Wait, Strange! Open a portal to where we met with The Monitor" asked Oliver

"What are you doing?" Clark asked

"You heard Carol, I have an idea just get the book with The Avengers. We need to hope Destiny can be rewritten"

Strange opens a portal as he leaves to join the others as Oliver goes to complete his task.

Outside Deegan had the book open as he continued to mess with reality. Dozens of citizens ran in terror.

Meanwhile Oliver stood outside the 1A door ready to confront with The Monitor.

"Novu! I know you're in there you son of a bitch! I'm not afraid of you! I'm not impressed by you. Stop with these games and show yourself" Oliver kicked open the door as he sees The Monitor.

"So much passion and hubris. To think, if you just yell loud enough you can command a god" said Novu

"You're not a god"

"Yet there isn't a name for what I am so I suppose God will have to do"

"Your time is limited. I'm not sure what little remains is best spent making demands at me. I already told you what you had to do"

"I know what happens to Barry and Kara"

"Now you're here in the faint hope that I can alter it"

"Well you just said you were a god. Now I don't think your testing us to see if we're strong enough. I think you're testing us so see if we're good enough and I don't think in any of the universes you tested that anyone has stood and confronted you like this"

"Yes. You are the first in the multitude"

"I'm not who you need! You said I'd pass the test if I knew my true self? My true self is filled with darkness. Barry and Kara are different. They inspire hope. They inspire people because they are the best of us. And if this test is gonna kill out best chance at stopping this crisis, we'll as God go, you're not a very smart one"

"The universe is a complex piece if machinery. Balance must be maintained. One change requires another. How would you purpose I would keep the balance?"

Back at Central City, Barry and Kara began their planetary trek around the globe as Deegan's destruction continued.

CCPD arrive with guns in hand as Deegan changed reality turning their cop cars into taxi cabs taking away their guns fleeing.

Superman and The New Avengers then arrive on the scene.

"You can't just put that symbol on your chest and call yourself a hero Deegan. Our powers amplify who we are. And the way you been usisn yours? It tells me you don't have the metal for this.

"No you're wrong. I just didn't think big enough. I won't make that mistake again" Deegan said as he brought AMAZO back into reality.

Clark fired his heat blast as AMAZO absorbed it and fired back at him sending Superman to crash on a taxi.

"You see? There is no defeating me! I AM THE MASTER OF THIS WORLD!"

Then a breach opens up as out came Lois with the hammer from the Fortress, Martian Manhunter and their friend Braniac-5.

"Blah blah blah, a little much don't ya think?" said Lois

"Honey?" asked Clark in surprise

"Yes dear?" she replied.

"An enormous robot, with the powers of Superman. This is exciting. Thank you for including me" said Braniac as he takes AMAZO up in the air.

"I'll protect the civilians. Finish this" said Manhunter

"You heard Him! Nat, Bruce help the civies! Everyone else, AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!" said Carol

"It's over Deegan" said Clark

"No! I decide when the story ends"

"I liked you better in blue" said Lois as she slams the hammer on the ground

The flashing light was enough for Deegan to drop the book.

"I GOT IT!" Spider-Man said as he swung a web over to the book.

Deegan quickly recovers as he grabs the boom and fires the energy at Spider-Man.

"Guys? A little help.

Clark rushes to save him as Deegan blasts him too.

Wanda then uses her magic to slowly try to overpower Deegan.

"Quit hurting my friends" she said as she amplified her powers.

Barry and Kara continued to pick up more and more speed as their bodies began to deteriorate groaning in pain.

Strange then sends his cloak to blind him as he opened a portal so T'Challa and Carol can grab the book.

Deegan's eyes light up as the cloak retreats. Spider-Man fired a web ball giving his teammates more time.

T'Challa grabs the book as Deegan vaporized the webs. He tossed the book over to Carol as he Kinetic ground pounds, Deegan.

Deegan then back hands T'Challa as he zooms over to Carol knocking her down. Spider-Man and Strange go for both his hands as they get slammed and tossed to the ground.

"Carol! Throw me!"

Carol then tosses T'Challa straight at Deegan as he grabs the book.

Black Panther kicks the book out of Deegan's hands as Wanda blasts a fury of magic blasts at the false Superman.

Deegan then blows ice breath at Wanda as she makes herself a shield. Spider-Man fires a web line trying to yank him away but he grabs the web as swings him over at Wanda.

"HEY! OVER HERE!" Carol shouts as she blasted him with photon energy. The two them clashed as the book gets tossed to the ground.

Carol tosses lefts and rights trying to keep Deegan away as the two appear evenly matched. Deegan tossed Carol away as she then trips him trying to get the book. Carol has him in a hold from behind him as she gets flipped over to the ground. Deegan tried for a knockout blow as Wanda fired a blast at him with Spider-Man and Black Panther landing in for more.

Deegan then grabs the two slamming them into each other as he goes for the book again.

Strange then conjured Crimson bands as they wrapped around Deegan with Strange holding on for dear life.

"Clark! The book!" Strange said as Clark sees the book.
