The Summoner and the Enchantress

Chapter 18

"Open the door this instant!" The gruff voiced yelled aggressively, almost threatening to barge the door down if he did not get his way. The guard thumped the door angrily once again, this time causing the door to groan under the impact and nearly fall off its hinges. The silver knight mumbled something under his breath that the pair could not hear, the green-haired boy missed his enhanced hearing though he suspected what the blond-haired boy had said was not something pleasant.

"Hold on, hold on!" Alex called out over the guards incessant hammering on the door, getting to his feet he glanced over to the green-haired boy's direction with a light of hope in his eye that he could open the door without destroying it.

Garfield caught the glance and carefully tried to summon the green energy, he found it to be surprisingly easier than the last time. The green energy seems more willing to respond to his commands since he had actually used it, though he felt the energy be slightly resistant to his efforts. He manifested the green energy around the door, carefully encasing it to ensure it did not shattered with the amount of force he had used before, he pulled the door from its stuck position and it swung open groaning loudly with the effort.

There in the doorway stood a gruff old knight in dark steel armour from head to toe, his helmet head in his hand than on his head. He had short grey hair and timeworn light blue eyes; his face held many wrinkles as well as old silvery battle scars. He bore a crest on his the front of his plate armour of a white shield outline with a gold fist outline inside, the crest seemed slightly weird for a town guard but the pair dismissed it as some oddity of this new world. The old knight had a red bejewelled sword with a gold hilt at his waist and a large white shield on his back, the shield followed the same design as that of his crest which lead the pair to think that the same crest was emblazon on it.

Beside the old knight stood a young man, he wore a light metallic grey armour set that had less plate armour than the old knight. The young man's armour was nowhere near the magnificent silver of the blond-haired boy, but it tried to mimic it somewhat with its design, a cross between the full plate of the old knight and a chainmail suit. The young man had his helmet on and a tall plain halberd in his hand, his helmet was simple and covered his head with a slight point angled back and up as well as the face being uncovered. The knight had soft pale features with dark brown eyes and slight brown stubble on his chin, he wore a completely different crest from the old the knight on the front of his armour. His crest held two red swords angled straight down with a white spear in between them, there was not much to the design like the old knight's, but it still was memorable.

The silver clad boy stared slightly confused at the old knight, though it was only the old knight that he stared at. It was as if the other younger knight was completely invisible and judging by his attempt to sidestep away from the older knight he did not want to be here.

"There was a noise disturbance and destruction of property through the use of an excessive amount of magic, explain yourself?" The young man's commanding voice spoke again, easily hiding his secret desire to run away. The old knight grunted his acknowledgement to the town's guard's words, standing before the door to have a go at whoever it was that casted the magic. The town's guard had been scanning the room and had clearly not seen the silver clad teen standing before as once he did he nearly fell over, his once stoic and well trained expression immediately dropped and was filled with extreme dread. "Sil… Silver… Blood… Bloodhound… I am… I am… I am so sorry for the intrusion…"

"Hmph… So, what if it was a Silver Bloodhound, does not excuse his behaviour." The old knight grunted heavily, distain and slightly challenge glinting in his eyes. He was not anywhere near as afraid as the young man had been, in fact he looked the opposite. It almost seemed like the old knight had wanted the silver clad teen to make the first move and attack him, or something along those lines as the pair watched the scene unfold in front of them.

"Neither does a crown guard in this small town, thought you thugs only bully the capital people?" Alex countered aggressively, sizing up the old knight and openly flaunting his displeasure at being accosted by said old knight. The town's guard had somehow managed to capture the perfect expression of someone who wanted to be on an entirely different planet but was forced to stay here in the spot that he wanted to get away from, his shifting from one foot to another while repositioning his halberd occasionally spoke volumes of internal fight between fear and duty.

"That's rich coming from a glorified mercenary, still selling yourself to highest bidder." The crown guard menacingly stepped forward, towering over the blond-haired boy with an ominous smile adorning his gruff face. The knight in training chuffed slightly and silently wished he had not dropped his claymore earlier, he glared down the old knight as he thought quickly on a way to deal with this tyrant.

The titans sat worriedly staring at the ordeal in front of them, unsure what to do or if this would become another situation where they would have to run for their lives. The old knight glanced over the silver clad teen's shoulder and spied the pair sat on the cot; his already ominous smile turned sinister as he got a good look at the purple sorceress.

"Talking about selling yourself, how about you let me have a night alone with that beauty and we can forget this even happened?" The old knight grinned impossibly wide, clearly loving the situation and the thought of taking the violet-haired girl that the silver clad knight was with. The knight in training winced hard as he knew what happened to the last guy who said something like that, he could see the green-eyed boy getting to his feet as his eyes darkened with rage.

"What did you just say?" Garfield's venom filed voice rang out in the startled silence that echoed after the old knight had uttered those words, a green light shone around the verdant-haired boy who stood threateningly in the centre of the room glaring down the crown's guard. The town's guard had a sudden lightbulb before his facial features dropped so harshly that he looked like he had aged well past the old knight, he immediately threw his duty to the wind and scrambled away from the door and to what sounded like a set of stairs.

The old knight unexpectantly began laughing like a madman, his grumbling laughter ran out in the silence of the room. The silver clad teen had a haunted look as he quickly turned to the green-haired boy and shook his head, trying his best to dissuade the angry emerald eyed boy from lashing out.

Garfield wanted to teach this old knight a lesson for even thinking about Raven in the way he had just did, his rage boiled to such an extent that he felt like he had lava coursing through his veins. An abrupt thought came to his mind and he quickly applied the teachings he had gotten from Mento, clearing his mind and thinking about the situation thoroughly. It was as if his blood froze over in an instant, the lave turning to ice instantly as his emotions left him along with his overwhelming rage. Once he was ice cold, he ran every possible reason for the silver clad teen to dissuade him from tearing the old knight apart for his words; everything from being a crown guard affording him special protection to the knight in training wanting to deal with this situation by himself.

Out of the blue a thought appeared in his head from their previous conversation on magical seers, he remembered his manipulation over his magical energy to ease the Full Binding Bracer's effects on his mind by moving the green light orb to his head. Putting his theory to practice, he found the now vibrantly bright green light in his core and clasped it with his mind. He moved the shining orb to the only place he could think of to be able to see magic, into his eyes.

The moment he opened his eyes his entire world changed, instead of his usual sight it now had a green tint overlaying everything. He scanned over the room and landed his eyes on his purple clad teammate, who radiant such a brilliant variance of purple colours that he nearly got mesmerised by it, tearing his eyes away he instantly spied the silver clad teen's claymore on the follow. The claymore had such a weird colour to it, not its usual rusty metal look but rather a slight glowing red hue coated it. A feeling of pride whelmed in the green-haired boy's chest as he realised that he had just became a magical seer through by his own hand, though that thought was short lived as he heard the old knight's second bout of laughter fill the room.

Settling his eyes upon the immoral old bully he finally saw the reason for the silver clad boy's dismissal to his aggression, the old knight's armour had various tones of colour from bright brown colours to shimmering blues as well as a few light red hues as well. The old knight wore powerful magical armour, it was nowhere near the vibrancy of his violet clad teammate but it had so many different colours to it that he could not tell what they did or how they would react.

As he studied the armour, he noticed a thread, not like that of string or of lose fabric but rather a fracture running the length of his armour on just about all of the pieces of armour he was wearing. Somehow he knew that thread was not actually cracks on the armour nor were they visible but a part of him knew they were there, it was as if he could see inside the armour and see the work that was done to make it as well as the mistakes and fractures created inside during the creation process.

Reaching out, he felt like he could feel the cracks in his mind as well as in his hand. He did not know what he was about to do nor did he know what would happen, but he could not take listening to the old knight laugh in his gruff voice nor could he let him get away with what he had said to Raven. Deciding on his course of action, he reached out and grabbed hold of the thread and tried to pull though it did not budge. In fact, despite his ability to feel and see the thread he could not do anything to it, in frustration and anger he powered a part of his magical power into the thread and with a part of his mind subconsciously wishing it would cause the armour to explode.

What happened next stunned everyone in the room, as the old knight had been laugh the purple sorceress had been growing ever irritated. She had hated hearing the words of the old knight as well as the insinuation of them, but hearing him totally dismiss her green-haired teammate so dismissively had her wishing she had her old magic so she could send the old knight to the furthest reaches of hell. As she thought about the unending torture the old knight would be suffering from she saw the emerald eyed boy raise his hand towards the old knight, not in rage or in an attempted to attack but rather like he was trying to reach out. The silver clad teen had thought the green-haired boy was going to launch another green bolt of energy, he tried to call out to the green-haired boy but stopped himself at the last second when a green light shone out of the old knight.

Along the entirety of the old knight's armour, green cracks emerged all over it and were glowing bright by the second. Everyone in the room was stunned at the sudden appearance of the green cracks but the brightness caused them to cover their eyes, even the old knight had stopped laughing to stare dubiously at his own armour. Then as the light suddenly died, the armour exploded violently into countless pieces leaving the old knight in his shirt and pants he had under the armour.

The room fell deathly silently as the green-haired boy lowered his hand and stared triumphantly at the old knight, a slight smug smile gracing his lips as the old knight registered what had just happened to his powerful magic armour. Then, out of fear, the old knight took a fearful step back before he bolted from the room and down the corridor much like the town's guard had done so earlier. The room fell into its now usual silence as the last two remaining occupants stare dumbfoundedly at the smirking green-haired boy, though only one knew the real reason why the old knight had look so afraid.

"What… what did you… how… what?" Alex could not get even a single sentence out of his mouth as he brain still tried to process what had just happened, he remembered thinking if he could get to his claymore then he could fend of the old knight while the two escaped. Even Raven couldn't think straight, she could not believe that Beast Boy of all people would be able to grasp magic as easily as he was though she had a slight notion in the back of her head that he was receiving help from someone or something however she dismissed that notion as nothing more than her jealously at titan's jokester being better at magic than her.

"I think I am a magic seer now…" The green-haired boy's word hung in the air as the pair stared incredulously at him, both silently trying to understand what he had just said as well as quietly demanding an explanation. Catching onto their stares, the green-haired boy decided to keep how he became a magic seer from the silver clad knight for now and he would tell the violet-haired girl later when he had the chance. "When you stopped me from attacking him I figured it had to be for another reason than because he was a crown guard, so I stared intently at him trying to figure out what it could be that made you not want me to attack him."

The former shapeshifter waited a second for the pair to follow along with what he was saying, he could almost see the buffering symbol from a computer on their faces as they processed his words.

"Suddenly, a green tint covered my vision and things started to glow various colours. Like your sword Alex, it is glowing red." The emerald eyed boy stated, pointing at the claymore laying haphazardly on the ground. The knight in training just continued to stare dumbly at the green-haired boy, trying to understand what he had just said. Garfield decided to continue his explanation as he was sure they would both had a mount of questions for him, he also wanted to figure out how to turn off the magic vision as the green tint was getting nauseating. Though he did find the somewhat bright red hue surrounding the knight in training to be rather interesting, clashing with the green tinted glowing silver armour he was wearing. "I saw all the different colours that old knight was wearing, from brown to blue and even a slight bit of red, then I saw a series of threads running the length of his armour. I reached out and grabbed them, but I couldn't move them, out of frustration I powered my magic into it and silently hoped it would explode…"

His words hung in the air, the purple sorceress quickly forgot her jealously and found herself somewhat impressed by her green-haired teammate. The silver clad teen's jaw hanged rather loosely, it almost looked like it was about to drop off with just even the slightest amount of pressure. Then he abruptly righted himself, carefully closed the door before retrieving his claymore and placing it back in its sheath on his back. He then sighed, shook his head slightly before he stared exasperatingly at the pair.

"Just when I thought you two couldn't spring any more surprises…" Alex sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose, then a major grin adorned his face before he fell apart laughing. It took several minutes before he calmed down, the pair had stared at him worriedly in that he might have lost him mind. "Don't worry about me, just couldn't help myself from laughing at the crown guard. His face was priceless, I wished I had gotten an image crystal…"

"I take it that we wouldn't be having any issues with the crown guards again?" The purple sorceress asked cautiously, praying for the answer she wanted to hear. She had been worried that they would have to run again after but from the way the silver knight had been acting it did not seem like they world, though she wanted to be sure.

"Nah, they may be bullies but they're not idiots. That one won't say anything as it would be seen as utter failure for a crown guard to lose his armour to a kid." Alex grinned as he found himself impatiently shifting from one foot to the other, a desperation to return to his guild and tell them of the crown guard. The pair let out a simultaneous breath, relaxing from their rigid postures as they repeated the knight in training's words in their minds. "Anyway, the more important part and something you are going to need to be very aware of is that you are now a magical seer of sight, a very rare type indeed."

"Yeah… you never said much about the sight type for the magical seers…" The green-haired boy muttered as he went over their past conversations, he had never thought he would become a magical seer nor a rare type either.

"Yep! The sight types and incredibly rare, in fact there are twelve of them in this land alone. You being the thirteenth." The silver knight proudly exclaimed, he remembered his master explaining to him about the sight types as well as having him memorise all the names and faces of the sight types. "Though the sight types are rare they are not as powerful nor as good as the sense types, sight types can see surface magic and casted magic though they cannot see much."

Garfield felt slightly crestfallen, he had a growing ember of pride at becoming one of the few to be a magical seer of the sight type. Raven could visible see the downtrodden look grace his face and it did not take an empath to see that his pride had been hurt by the silver knight's words, she reached out and took his hand in hers and held it lightly in comfort. Garfield squeezed her hand in gratitude, feeling almost infinitely better at having the purple sorceress attempt to comfort him.

"That said, a sight type is more demand than most sense types…" Alex hadn't noticed the brief exchange between the pair nor did he see the crestfallen expression on the green-haired boy's face, he had just continued with his explanation of the magical seers. "Sense types cannot always detect magic nor can they be able to sense all the time, they may be able to see into objects or through them, but they need to know where to look first. That is where sight types come in."

"So, a sense type on their own would be hindered somewhat in finding magic, but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of being someone that can see magic?" Raven quired, she was slightly confused by the magical seer types though she did not want to rain down on her teammate's pride. She had wanted to reaffirm Garfield that he was in no way redundant but he had beaten her too it, giving her a knowing glance that spoke of his support for her as he hoped she could become a sense type. A blooming feeling of trust and companionship erupted from the purple sorceress, she smiled lightly at her green-haired teammate before setting her sights on the silver clad teen.

"Not really, sense types can sense innate magic in the world and exposed magic but surface magic like enchantments fall slightly out of this realm." The blond-haired teen replied, standing beside the door as he thought about something important. The pair had gotten to their feet, they knew they had to get out of the room soon otherwise they were bound to get more interruptions or other people wanting to attack them. "Sight types can also see hidden magic, enchantments and other types of magic can be hidden from sense types but not from sight types. This is why sight types are in high demand."

The green-haired boy felt his pride return, he squeezed the purple-haired girl's hand tightly as a slight smile grace his face. A small smile also graced the violet sorceress's lips, she silently wished she had her empathic powers just to bask in the happiness she could feel emanating from the green-haired boy.

"For now, don't tell anyone. The sight types are highly sought after, if they found about you two then they will do anything to get a hold of both of you." Alex warned, he looked worriedly out the door. He quickly moved from his standing position by the door past the pair and to the closed curtains on the other side of the room, he pulled them open and got a full blast of the twin sun's rays glaring down upon them. He sighed before tapping his side pensively as he thought about some important matter.

"Wait, why would I matter? Wouldn't they just want him?" Raven asked with a slightly sullen note to her voice, she would never admit it but she somewhat left out by her green-haired teammate's advancement in magic to such an extent that many would do anything to get their hands on him though she was silently unnerved as to why she would be taken with him. The sudden question knocked the silver clad teen out of his reverie, he turned to the pair before answering though his features held a note of annoyance to the question.

"Seriously? Just because they capture him doesn't mean he is going to work with them so they need something he would do anything to keep safe." Alex stated as if it were a matter of fact, his words caused the purple sorceress to blush deeply while the former shapeshifter hung his head in shame at not only being discovered but putting his weakness in even more danger than before. The violet eyed girl's thoughts raced rapidly as she could not stop thinking about how she was the insurance to keep the verdant eyed boy in line, it was something she found both gratifying and discomforting.

"Just to make sure… when you said the crown guard were glorified bullies, do they still have the protection of the crown or do we not have to worry about what I just did to that one?" The green-haired boy had had that nagging thought running through his head for awhile now, after he took said crown guard down since a crown guard was technically supposed to be protecting someone of the royal blood line. The purple clad girl beside him perked up at his question, she had not thought about this possibility of having even more enemies than before.

"Nah, the crown guard do protect the royal family, but they never stray the royal palace." Alex dismissed their concerns; he had started to walk towards the door slowly. He stood by the door yet again, wanting to finish answering the question before he said his piece. "The only time the royal family leave the palace is to go on some trip to one of the other two kingdoms and even then, there would be crown guards literally crawling all over the streets."

Their fears allayed; the pair felt like a part of the weight on their shoulders had been lifted. They hadn't even realise they were carrying a weight that had been forced upon them the moment they arrived in this new world, a part of them wanted to scream at the injustice of having this forced upon them another was glad that there was a way to lessen the strain.

"Alright, I really need to get back to the Silver Bloodhounds otherwise my master is not going to let me go out on my own missions ever again." Alex comical said, had his hand on the door ready to open it and leave the pair in the room by themselves. The titans did not want to impose on the blond-haired teen since he had helped them so much already, but they were complete strangers in this new world and without him then they would not have anyone they could rely on. "Don't worry, I am going to go get some clothes for the pair of you, you cannot go around dressed like that. Especially her."

Before either of them could say anything or even retort his quip at their uniforms, he was gone. He had closed the door behind him and they could hear his heavy metal footsteps clunking down the hallway before he made down the stairs. The two were now alone together for the first time since the forest, they felt somewhat awkward except it was a peaceful kind of awkward. They sat running over the information they had been given by their new friend, Alex Greyhound, a knight in training that had gone out of his way to help them despite not even knowing their names. A silent agreement rang from both of them to find a way to pay back this kindness if they managed to survive in this new world. A sudden lightbulb shined in the green-haired boy's head as he remembered that he had something to tell his purple clad teammate.

"Oh, Raven. About the magical seer thing from earlier, I did not want to tell Alex about how I actually got it." The green-haired boy exclaimed; he silently enjoyed the light slowly brightening in the violet-haired girl's eyes. She looked and waited eagerly for the former shapeshifter to explain how he had gained his magic sight, leaning forward and clasping onto his hand lightly. The green-haired boy found himself falling for her all over again, a strand of hair falling over her right eye bloomed a deep intense desire in him to push it away and lightly cup her face. He barely managed to wrench his thoughts away and remind himself that she was waiting for him to tell him how he had managed to gain magic sight. "Ahem… Well, I realised that I had used my magic to undo the restraint of the Full Binding Bracers by moving it into my head, so I thought if I put it into my eyes then…"

A brief glimpse of understanding graced the violet sorceress eyes before they suddenly closed, she had pulled herself in her normal meditative pose and began muttering her mantra out loud. A subtle sense of relief and normalcy coursed through the emerald eyed boy, almost tricking him into thinking they were back at the tower just waiting for their friends to join them in the common room. Garfield thought sullenly about his friends, the titans that he had became his family through blood sweat and tears. He wondered what they were doing at this moment; were they searching endless for them? Were they upset at the loss of them? Did they manage to kill, or at least escape from the red eyed man?

His thoughts swam tumultuously, threatening to encase him inside his own mind full of devastating nightmares. He shook his head violently, dispelling the questions from his mind and focusing on the here and now. Turning back to his purple clad teammate, he found her still meditating on gaining magical sight though from her twisted features he could feel that she was not having success. A daring thought came to mind, one that could probably help his violet-haired teammate except it had a chance to backfire if he were not careful.

Reaching out, he clasped his hand over Raven's which had been resting flat on her knee. Hearing the slight intake of breath from the purple sorceress as he held her hand resurfaced his intense desire from earlier, though he knew not to push her or attempt something like this in their given circumstances. He reached out much like he had when he gained his magic sight, moving his energy through his hand and into her. A sudden jolt surged through both of them as they felt a connection form between them, it was nothing like their shared aura rather it felt like their powers were mingling through the small connection he had established.

He could feel her power, the bright amethyst orb originating at her centre though her control over it was somewhat lacking. She could feel his presence inside her, surveying her magic orb as well as her mind, she had tried to resist yet stayed her hand as she decided to trust her green-haired teammate. Finding his way through her mind's control over her power, he found her issue. She had been trying too hard to control the orb like she had with her emotions, brutally forcing it to bend to her will rather than treating it as another part of herself. He pulled her mind together and slowly showed her to relent her control, to not force the power but rather will it to move as a part of one's soul.

Raven had been somewhat scared at the intrusion into her soul, fearful of losing control over herself to someone else regardless of if it was her teammate. Truthfully, if it had been anyone else other than Garfield then she would have done whatever she could to stop them, even if it had been any of the other titans. Over the past few days she discovered a new side to the former shapeshifter that she found to be rather comforting as well as trustworthy, if he dared to risk entering her soul and help her control her power then she would trust him. And that was what he did, she felt him collect her mind's control and ease it from her previous attempts to force the power to her control, much like she had with her emotions.

As she followed his instructions, moving the orb of energy with her will and desire rather than pure control like she had been taught by the monks of Azarath. The purple sorceress enjoyed the feeling of letting go, of freeing herself and allowing her power to flow like water through her soul. She could feel Garfield ease his control over hers, letting her take over so she could get the hang of it herself. Continuing on from his demonstration, she willed the power to her eyes, allowing them to coat her vision for second before the power suddenly snapped back. She tried again, keeping her frustration in check as she knew all too well how magic could take years of practice before she could use it.

Her second and third attempts both failed, slightly dejected she was about to try her fourth attempt when Garfield reasserted his control over her. Deciding to trust her emerald eyed teammate, she relented and allowed him to show her what she was doing wrong. He coaxed her power away from her eyes and back to her core, though this time he got her to generate a wave of energy to expand from her core outwards. The energy only just being enough to coat the objects in the room and nothing more, the energy coating the objects allowed her to feel them as if they were a part of herself. Her energy coated her green-haired teammate, she could feel his energy emanating from him but also through him and into her. She could sense the residual magic traces on the walls and by the door where Garfield had unleashed his power, she could feel traces of the red energy from Alex's claymore as well as the multitude of energies from the old knight's armour that laid in pieces on the floor.

"Wow… this is… its…" Raven could not formulate any words, she was stunned by the beauty of the world around her that somehow existed in her soul. She could feel Garfield retreat from her soul, leaving a slight wanting in her for his soul to mingle with hers.

"What does it feel like?" The green-haired boy asked curiously, he had not been able to experience what she had since he was only connected to her soul through a small link but he did get the sense that she was exhilarated at the new experience.

"Its… it's like… becoming one with everything yet being apart from it just enough to see its true form…" The purple sorceress dreamily stated, enjoying the feeling of just coating the room with her energy to feel its true form as well as the vibrations it made from its existence. Letting out a dejected sigh she brought the energy wave back into her, she had wanted to stay in that sense form forever though they had much to talk about and she could experiment later.

Watching his purple clad teammate's energy withdraw within herself, he tried to follow her direction and withdraw the energy coating his eyes. The green tint left his vision, he could finally see without either being blinded by the violet clad girl beside him or the green tint making him queasy.

"I am a sense type…" Raven's words hung in the air as the pair remembered what the silver knight had told them. How a team of a sense and a sight type would be unbeatable in any given situation, they had been given yet another trump card, yet it would only be useful as lone as they can train themselves to wield it effectively.

"I wonder if there is a magic academy we could go to…" Garfield wondered aloud, he had been thinking of ways to train themselves in magic but nothing short of going to school could remedy that problem. A slight daydream appeared in his mind, of himself and Raven attending school together like normal high school students. Being a member of the titans had not afforded him that luxury, though he imagined if he specifically asked for it then Robin would have tried to set him up with an ID and everything.

"If magic is as prevalent as we have already seen then there would surely be many of them." The purple sorceress replied warily, she had been coming down off of her newfound high when he had uttered those words. It was not that she was against the idea, but rather their experiences with the inhabitants of this new world left much to be desired though the one friend they had been able to make proved to be more than trustworthy. "Though I doubt we would be able to get into one, I'd imagine they would require this world's currency… and a lot of it."

"Yeah, I thought as much. Just entertaining an old dream." The green-haired boy exasperated, he deflated rather rapidly after hearing the main issue with his dream. He knew all too well how money rules everything, how greed is far greater than human decency or kindness.

The pair sat in silence for a while longer, occasionally engaging in small talk on irrelevant matters from what magic they could possibly wield to whether they would be able to return home. They carried on like this for what felt like an hour, until they heard the metallic clunking sound that heralded the return of their silver clad friend. He entered the room carrying two moderately sized backpacks over his shoulder, grumbling about something that they could not understand nor hear until he was fully in the room.

"Argh… my master is going to kill me… what the hell…" Alex closed the door behind him, dropping the bags onto the floor while he readjusted his claymore's sheath. He turned to face the pair, organising himself while pulling out a piece of parchment from thin area. "Alright, I haven't got much time, so this is going to be brief. Also, that was a void storage ring, I managed to grab one for myself at a steal in the market, so I have to thank you both for that."

The silver clad teen shooed the pair off of the cot before he unrolled the parchment, revealing a decently hand drawn map of a large island mass that had been broken up into segments. The pair stood over each of his shoulders and stared intently down at the map he had just produced, silently hoping for some good news.

"Okay. We are here." He pointed to a small mark on the map just slightly southeast from the centre of the map where what looked like a large kingdom at the middle of the land mass. "This is the small town of Bardia, it's a neutral place so you don't have to worry too much about the kingdoms trying to enforce their laws here."

"The kingdom of Averia is at the centre of the land, it is the main and largest kingdom out of the three. Followed closely by Literia, second in size and power." He pointed to a kingdom in the far north at the top of the land mass, it was fairly sized though it was nowhere near as big as Averia. He then pointed to another large segment beside the water to the east of Bardia. "And this is Fulra, like I said before about the Dusk Legionnaires and such, it is the third in size and power."

The pair made sure to memorise everything he had said, knowing their location and the various places they could go would be invaluable to their survival. Though, knowing the locations was not everything since these places could be a hornet's nest of criminals and corrupt individuals, the blond-haired boy somehow knew this was going to be a question and had already prepared a response.

"To put it bluntly, stay away from any of the kingdoms." Alex grimly stated, a dark expression gracing his features as he seemed to be remembering something evil about each of the kingdoms. "I don't have much dealing with Literia, but I know enough to stay far from them. Averia isn't much better, and you have already had dealings with Fulra."

He then pointed to a decently sized segment far north from Bardia, it was somewhat equally distance between the three kingdoms. The segment looked to be its own territory, dividing the three kingdoms effectively. Alex pointed enthusiastically at this segment, he seemed intent on showing this place to the pair.

"This is Larravass, It's a neutral territory outside the three kingdoms. It may be small, but It has enough strength to hold its own even against Averia." The silver clad boy's voice happily spoke about this place, even grinning at them when he said that it could hold its own against Averia. "This is the central location for all the guilds and other organisations in the land, this is also where the Silver Bloodhounds are."

The blond-haired boy rolled the map back up and handed it to the green-haired boy, he picked up both of the packs he brought in and handed them to the pair indiscriminately. Their confused looks adorning the pair's faces spoke to their misunderstanding of the situation, they respectfully took the proffered bags without complaint since the knight in training had gone to the trouble of getting them.

"There are two sets of clothes inside each of these bags as well as enough food for a week." Alex stated proudly, he held a look that told of a grand plan he had brewing. The pair shuddered as they gazed into his azure eyes, silently regretting being friends with the knight in training. "They are both male sets of clothes, I hope you can see where I am going with this?"

"You can't be serious?" The purple sorceress coldly glared at the lunatic in front of her dressed in silver armour, she found the idea to be ludicrous if not utterly insane. The blond-haired boy grinned evilly as he stared at the pair, his plan had been only a moment of inspiration with a lot of crazy laughter as he walked in between shops.

"No offense but you are a walking target for any male with a pulse, even if you two are powerful." The knight in training solemnly said, hating the fact that he had to say those words, but they were true. The amethyst eyed girl relented her objection to inane plan, she was far more afraid of people coming after her much like in the way that old knight had tried to do. The emerald eyed boy grunted his agreement reluctantly, especially hating how those words still rang in his mind.

The silver clad knight left the room briefly to allow the pair to change into their new clothes, though that was an awkward ordeal with the two trying to change back to back. Their new clothes were a dreary brown matching set of trousers with a drab dark blue oversized shirt, a plain light brown belt tying both together. There was also a plain leather set of boots that could be easily resized through several strings to fit them perfectly, as well as several other bindings that Raven put to use rather well in hiding her femininity.

Once they were done the silver clad knight came back in holding some sort of black liquid and a short knife, his evil grin somehow growing impossibly wider. Raven backed away slowly in fear of what either of those was supposed to do to her, that was until Garfield got grabbed and half of that suspicious black liquid poured onto his head.

"Rub that it well, and don't get any in your eyes." Alex ordered, clearly loving the disgusted noises he was making. Raven meanwhile barely contained her snigger, that was until the knight in training started to walk towards her.

After several minutes of complaints and screeching, two new teens stood before the silver clad teen. Said knight in training was marvelling in his work as the pair before him fidgeted uncomfortably, they looked almost identical with only a few variances. One being slightly taller than other sporting deep green eyes and the other with softer features as well as a set of striking purple eyes, to any who hadn't seen the pair before would have thought of them a nothing more than twin brothers.

Their faces were covered slightly in dark marks from the black liquid, it gave them both a rougher appearance. Raven's hair had been cut short, almost as short as Garfield's, before it had been dyed with the black liquid. She was already in a bad mood with having her hair cut but having it dyed as well was taking it a bit too far, she tried to fight the knight in training until the former green-haired boy took over and dyed her hair.

"Alright! Excellent! I think I have out done myself this time." The silver clad boy smiled proudly, admiring his handwork while he rubbed his hands from any remaining drop of the black liquid or strands of deep purple hair. The purple eyed girl disliked her new shorter hairstyle, though she could not complain about the result since it was somewhat hard to tell herself apart from her green-eyed teammate. "The dye is fast acting and once it sets it will be permanent, it will take at least an hour before it sets so don't get it wet."

"At least this stuff doesn't smell bad…" Garfield groaned slightly, twirling one of his new black locks. He hated having to dye his hair since it was the only thing remaining from his once green skin, but he knew the necessity of disappearing and green hair stood out too well. The violet-eyed girl beside him grunted her affirmation to his assessment, glad that it smelled like some sort of odd fruit rather than what they were expecting to be mechanical oil.

"Listen up." The knight in training commanded the pair to attention, hoping to get through everything before he had to leave. "You two need to make your way to Larravass, like I said it is a neutral territory that the kingdoms wouldn't dare to offend. I would go with you, but I have to meet my master in Averia before heading back to the Silver Bloodhounds."

"I… We don't know how…" Garfield got cut off mid-sentence by the knight in training holding up his hand, clearly not finished with his explanation. The green-eyed boy clamped his mouth shut and waited for the blond-haired boy to begin speaking once again.

"I will speak with my master; I can't get you two into the Silver Bloodhounds but there is another guild that my master has ties with which would welcome a sight type magic seer." Alex continued, a slight wince occurring when he spoke about trying to get them into a guild. "I cannot make any promises, but you will be safe in Larravass, there you can make your own way if you wish."

"Thank you, Alex. This is… there is no words that can express our gratitude." Garfield finally managed to thank the young knight for everything he had done for them, his now twin brother agreeing with his statement.

"No need, my master saved me when I was nothing more than a street urchin. I know what its like to be lost and with no one to rely on." The blond-haired boy's words had the pair understanding his kindness and generosity, something that many other people, beside the old man, lacked. "I never did get your names?"

"Garfield Logan, it is a pleasure to meet you Alex." The emerald eyed boy stepped forward without hesitation, he felt somewhat ashamed and somewhat happy to know that the knight in training had helped them despite not knowing their names. The silver clad teen vigorously shook Garfield's hand, glad to know the name of his new friend that he hoped to meet again.

"Raven." Raven offered her hand much like her green-eyed twin had, she was trying out a gruffer voice to play her part as a male which would have worked if the other two did not know she was a girl. The knight in training was impressed with her effort and shook her hand, though he frowned slightly as he rolled their names over his mind.

"You two are going to need new names, Garfield isn't a common name nor is Logan for a family name." The silver knight pensively explained, slight worry written on his face as he tried to think of possible names for the pair. The titans had thought on this issue, though learning to adapt to being called different names would be troublesome if they were not careful. One mistake and they were running for their lives once again, something they wanted to avoid at all possible.

"What about Mark? It is my middle name." Garfield offered; he had no idea what passed for normal names in this new world since they only had the silver knight's name. Said knight in training shook his head dismissively, his concerned expression growing with each passing second.

"A lot of the simple names are held by commoners, much like myself." Alex had uncaringly stated his commoner status, though he stood proudly in his silver armour despite his origins. "And you two are only pretending to be commoners to keep out of sight, since you are learning to respond to a new name then it would be best to pick noble name for when you managed to become successful."

"Some noble names like King Xyler of Literia or King Rowen of Averia are just some of the extravagant ways the nobility like to separate themselves from commoners." The silver knight listed off before he beamed at them; a light shone in his blue eyes like a lightbulb had gone off in his head.

"I think I have it. You will be Gideon, and you Rhordan." Alex proclaimed, pointing to Garfield first before Raven. Each of them remembering their new names, they had little choice in the matter as to them survival mattered more than their own vanity and pride. "You'll need a family name as well; Logan isn't common around here. If I remember correctly there is a family name not often used but it should do… Voidsaber. Its comes from the mythical Spatial Cat that no one has ever seen, few still remember it but there use to be a noble house that had this name which disappeared a long time ago."

The green-eyed boy had to contain a nervous twitch in his eye as well as a series of flash backs to his childhood with his uncle, he remembered how he spent several months not even knowing his name let alone differentiating himself from human and animal. Having his name taken from him because of a need to survive was not something he was going to live with well, but if it meant his and Raven's survival then he would do so gladly.

His purple-eyed teammate was of a different mind, her given name did not even come from her own mother but rather Azar herself. She had lived a life with practically no identity, so adopting a new name would be fairly easy if somewhat inconvenient. A thought that she peculiarly found disturbing, though she did not know why, something she deemed that she would mediate on later. The thought of mediation jumped into her mind as she remembered she had not mediated for quite some time, a slight worry emanated from her rational side though she dismissed it in favour of enjoying the freedom somewhat.

"Hello, my name is Gideon Voidsaber. It's a pleasure to meet you." The emerald eyed boy repeated awkwardly, holding his hand out like he had done so before. The silver clad teen graciously accepted his proffered hand, trying in vain not to cringe and laugh at the same time.

"Don't try to be so formal, others won't afford you the same courtesy." The blond-haired boy criticised, pointing out any possible flaw that could undo their new identities. He sighed wistfully; he gave the pair another once over before he went to the door. "Alright, I have to go."

"Thank you for your help, Alex." Raven nodded slightly at the silver clad boy, profoundly grateful for the aid he had given them despite not knowing them. Garfield nodded his agreement to his purple eyed teammates statement, grinning widely at the knight in training.

"If you two manage to make it to Larravass safely then there are somethings that I could do with some help." Alex said after a few minutes of deciding whether or not to say it, he had a pensive look about him that spoke of his reluctance to say his piece. The pair had nodded almost without reservation, they could not think of a way to repay the kindness the knight in training had given them though they felt slightly unnerved at his expression. "For now, head towards the town centre. There will be a large building with a scroll symbol on it, this will be the adventurer's guild."

The pair stared at him slightly confused, they thought going to the city he had mention would be quite the voyage but now he was suggesting something else that would take them away from their goal. They did not interrupt him however, patiently waiting for an explanation they knew he would give them.

"You both are going to need money and gear, becoming an adventurer will solve both of those problems and more." The blond-haired boy continued, he had the door open and was holding it open for himself as he remembered something. "Oh, you can trust the adventurer's guild master, he's an old friend of my master though don't tell him your real identities. If you tell him my name, then he can help you get yourselves set up as adventurers but don't expect him to help much more than that… the vast majority of people on land aren't too friendly…"

After Alex had left the room, the two stayed there with a whole host of new information running rampant in their minds. They couldn't think about anything except the amount of work they were going to have to put in just to survive, it isn't like they aren't use to hard labour what with being titans but instead of having an entire city being friendly and helpful to them they now had an entire continent wanting to exploit or kill them. It was a bit much, though they could not let it overwhelm them otherwise they would never get home.

"Becoming adventurers might actually be a good idea…" Gideon said cautiously, as if he was testing out the thought he was thinking. Rhordan quizzically looked at him, wondering if he truly trusted the silver knight implicitly or if he had another thought. Spying his now brother Rhordan's enquiring look, the green-eyed boy explained his thought process. "We are already powerful, what with our new magical abilities, but we don't know how to use them, and we don't have any gear to help us. Generally, adventurers fight monsters and raid dungeons for look and materials to build better gear, so if we want to survive then it is best available option for us."

Rhordan nodded slightly, agreeing with her now brother as she moved the thoughts around in her mind. They were heroes in their previous world, fighting bag guys and villains that tried commit evil acts for their own benefit. This world would be no different except the majority of the fighting will be against monsters that will defy description, they would need a lot of courage and spirit to fight for their survival and this is the first step.

"Though this is a lot faster than either of us can process but…" Gideon pensively voiced, trying his best to get himself to believe his own words at the same time to say them. He turned to look at his now brother directly into the eyes, making sure they both could see the others fear and apprehension of the future. "We have to take a leap… jump off our path and pray we land on a new and better path than before. We can do this!"

Rhordan broke the eye contact for a second, doubt filling her mind as she thought over his words. His confidence forcing its way to the forefront of his mind, trying to not only persuade her but himself as well. The purple-eyed girl slowly turned back and stared back into his eyes, a newfound confidence brimming in her as she spoke.

"We can do this."

Author's Note:

Another experimental extended chapter, I hope you like it. As this is a longer chapter than usual, I am going to postpone the next chapter for a bit to work on a second story.

Truthfully, I was not going to go with the change of appearance and names but as I was writing it, it felt kind of right for their situation. So, now the pair have to keep up the appearance as well as try to survive and find a way home. FYI, simple names in this world are seen as commoner names while the extravagant names belong to nobility. Alex's surname will be explained later on if anyone was wondering why he had it when he was a commoner.

Aurelia still exists, the two were taken so its natural for the bird to leave for a bit and wait for an opening to find Raven.

I will be referring to the pair by their new names often though I will revert back to their original names occasionally.

Pronunciations for those who want them.

Larravass = Lar-ra-va-ss

Fulra = Full-ra

Bardia = Bar-de-a

Literia = Litt-ery-a

Averia = Ar-ver-ee-a

Eris – Thanks for the comment. I have a particular perchance to making cliff-hangers, and making them as evil as possible brings me great joy. I have learned to do it often as it can be annoying, but I still find them fun.
