Chapter 22: Lucid Nightmare
"GIVE THEM BACK!" Midoriya screamed, struggling with his position on Shoji's back.
"Give them back?" The villain stated, amusement clear in his voice. "What an odd thing to say. They don't belong to anyone. They're their own people, you egoist."
"GIVE THEM BACK!"
"MOVE!" Todorki yelled, before sending a wave of ice up the tree.
The villain dodged easily and jumped up into the air, "We're a bit fanatical when it comes to our values. All we wish is to show him that there are other ways. Because you kids today...have your values chosen for you."
Shoji looked behind him and paled a bit in realization, "It's not just Bakugou and Hideyoshi! Tokoyami is missing too!"
'The three people at the rear?!' Todoroki thinks, 'He took them away without a sound! Just what is his quirk?'
"There was no need to confront us." Todoroki states worry clearly on his face. "He's toying with us."
The villain lets out a soft chuckle, "Sorry for my bad habit..I'm an entertainer at heart. Taking Tokoyami was just a bit of ad-libbing. Moonfish...that old blade tooth even a natural homicidal maniac like him whose death row appeal was shot down..was trampled by your rampaging friend..so I decided to take him too!"
"YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM YOU JERK!" Midoriya shouted, infuriated from on top of Shoji's back.
Todoroki hands the unconscious 1-B student over to Uraraka, "Uraraka, take care of him." With that, he rushed after the villain sending a tsunami of ice after him.
The villain jumped out of the way, "Sorry but deception and running away are actually my only specialties. I can't go toe-to-toe with heroes in training." He raises a hand to his earpiece, "Vanguard Assassination Squad! The targets have been successfully captured! Though it was short, our mission has come to an end! As planned, be at the evacuation point within five minutes of this transmission!"
"They're done here?" Todoroki whispers, widening his eyes. "Not gonna happen! You're not getting away!" He sent another wave of ice towards the villain as he ran after him. The villain moved through the top of the trees at immense speed.
"We..can't give up!" Midoriya exclaimed, "Gotta catch up..and get them back!"
"But we're eating dust at this point." Shoji pointed out.
Midoriya turned to Uraraka fire in his eyes, "Make us float, Uraraka." He then turns to Asui, "Then Asui, throw us as hard as you can with your tongue." Then Shoji, "Shoji, can you correct our course with your arms in midair. Tow us along behind you. Keep an eye on us, Uraraka. When it looks like we've closed the gap, release us!"
'I should have let Sera-chan heal me before!' He thinks as he feels the burning pain of his muscles.
"You stay behind Midoriya," Todoroki says, "You're in too much pain to—,"
"Forget the pain!" Midoriya grunted, clenching his teeth, "I can move...QUICKLY NOW!"
They set up the plan as Midoriya specified, with Uraraka giving Midoriya her jacket to wrap around his arms. Asui wraps her tongue around them and lifts them up, "You better save them!"
With that, she swings as hard as she could sending them soaring through the air.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The villain, hearing the loud scream, looked behind just in time to see them crash into him. With the weight of 3 different people on him, the villain was dragged down towards the ground. Right in front of his fellow villains.
"I know those brats!" The fully covered villain shouted pointing at the trio, "Who're they?" He says again, this time in a deeper voice.
One of the villains, with dark hair and staples over his skin, raised a hand, giving a nod to the villain below Midoriya and co. "Mr. Compress, dodge."
"Roger!"
Suddenly the villain sent out a blast of hot blue flames, engulfing the area where Midoriya and co. were. They were blasted away from the villain and thrown into the trees.
"Ouch," The villain, Mister Compress said rubbing his shoulder, "To think they'd chase us by air! What a flight of fancy."
"You got Bakugou and Hideyoshi?" The dark-haired villain asked.
"Of course!" Mr. Compress replied, reaching into his pockets to grab the marbles, yet finding nothing.
"TIME TO RUN!" Shoji said motioning towards Midoriya and Todoroki.
"I'm not sure what your quirk is," Shoji said, staring at, "But from the way, you were showing off before. I know that these things from your right pocket are Bakugou, Hideyoshi, and Tokoyami, right?" Shoji said, holding up three marbles.
The villain laughed at his words, "HO HO! Well done, indeed. So quickly, too! There's no finer pickpocket then one with six arms, I suppose."
"Great we're done here!" Todoroki said running towards Midoriya and Shoji, ready to escape.
"You fool," The dark-haired villain said, staring at.
"No, wait." Mr. Compress said as he stopped the dark-haired villain from chasing after Midoriya and co. Suddenly a dark portal appeared around them. The blonde-haired villain, Toga Himiko, quickly entered one waving goodbye to Midoriya before she left.
"It's been five minutes since the signal, let's be off Dabi."
"Hang on. The target is still—," The dark-haired villain paused when Mr. Compress raised up a hand.
"Yes, as you appeared so pleased with yourselves that you wanted to cut and run, let me give you a little reward. It's a bad habit of mine, one of the tenets of magic states that flaunting a particular object…"He pauses lifting up his hat in order to remove his mask, "...Is inevitably a part of the trick."
Opening his mouth he revealed three marbles that showed the tiny figures of Sera, Bakugou, and Tokoyami inside.
"That ice attack was the perfect chance to prepare a few decoys. I put them in my right pocket for later. Upon noticing the objects in my right hand enter my right pocket, you would naturally be excited enough to give chase."
"Crap." Midoriya muttered as he stared at the form of Mr. Compress leaving.
Suddenly though, out of nowhere a bright beam of light shot at Mr. Compress hitting him right in the stomach, forcing him to open his mouth and release the three marbles before being pushed through the portal. Aoyama who had been hiding behind the bushes gave the others a thumbs-up before collapsing in pain.
Todoroki and Shoji both ran at the three marbles, with Shoji succeeding in grabbing one. But, just as Todoroki was about to grab the two marbles out of the air it was snatched by a hand. Looking up in shock he meets the gaze of the dark-haired, fire quirk villain half of his body covered by the swirling mist of the portal.
"How sad for you, Shoto Todoroki," The villain said with a smirk, "It's time to leave, release them."
A hand reached out from the other side of the portal snapping its fingers. The marbles in the villains' hands popped revealing the surprised Bakugou and the frozen Sera. The marble in Shoji's hand also popped revealing Tokoyami.
Sera opened her eyes wide, seeing the figures of Midoriya and Shoji reaching out for her. Seeing the familiar portal encasing her she realized that she had been captured. Raising her hand out she tries to reach them but the back of her neck is grabbed and she is yanked back. Seeing Midoriya rush towards her she knows deep inside she cannot endanger him or any of there classmates anymore.
"KACCHAN! SERA-CHAN!" Midoriya shouts rushing towards them.
Meeting Midoriya's crazed gaze she shakes her head sadly, "Midoriya, don't follow u—" But before she can finish she is dragged through the portal along with Bakugou.
Watching the figures of his friends disappear just as he was about to reach them, Midoriya collapsed to the ground in shock.
"AHHHHHHHHHGGGGGG!"

74 Hours After Kidnapping
.
On the third day after the kidnapping of Bakugou and Sera, the entirety of class 1-A goes to visit Midoriya in the hospital.
"Hey, Midoriya! Looks like you're awake!" Midoriya turns to the side and sees Kaminari at his door giving him a wave. Suddenly everyone from class 1-A rushes into his hospital room, Midoriya stares in shock at his classmates, his eyes blown wide.
"You see what's on TV? The media's all over the school." Kaminari asks as all of class 1-A shuffles around trying to fit themselves into the small hospital room.
"It's even worse than back in Spring." Sato adds from his place in the back.
Mineta holds up a wrapped melon and places it on the bedside table, "Here's a melon for you. We all pitched in."
Tokoyami lowers his head in guilt unable to meet Midoriya's eye, "I caused so much trouble for you, Midoriya."
Midoriya stares at all of them, his eyes the shape of golf balls, "Nah..I'm the one who should be sorry. Is everyone here?"
Iida walks out from behind everyone and stands at the end of the hospital bed, "No...Jirou and Hagakure are still unconscious, ever since being knocked out by that gas. And Yaoyorozu received a terrible head wound. She's here at the hospital. Apparently she only regained consciousness yesterday. So besides those three…"
"All 15 of us came.." Uraraka finishes.
"Of course Bakugou and Hideyoshi aren't here." Todoroki says, staring at the ground in front of him.
The class goes silent, the empty void the missing members of class 1-A left seeming so infinitely wide at the moment.
Midoriya frowned, not meeting the eyes of his classmates, "Recently...All Might told me something. About how sometimes we just can't reach people who need saving...so we've gotta do our best to save the people we can reach." He pauses, fist clenched beneath the plaster that covered his shattered arms, "But I could reach them, all I had to do was save them. But then it turned out like how Aizawa-sensei said it would, I couldn't move my body."
"Then let's go save them now." Kirishima said suddenly, taking a step towards Midoriya's crying form.
The class was stunned, "HUH?!"
Kirishima furrowed his eyebrows seriously and explained, "Todoroki and I, we actually came by yesterday. We couldn't just sit at home and wait for news, so we decided to visit you guys. When we reached Yaomomo's hospital room though, we saw her talking to the police. She explained that she had stuck a tracking device on one of the Nomus. She made a transceiver that had the location of where the Nomu currently was."
"So you're saying that Yaoyorozu..can make another transceiver for us?" Iida interrupted looking at Kirishima solemnly. "No. Just as All Might said. We ought to leave this matter to the pros! It's not our place to interfere, you fool!"
"You think I don't know that?" Kirishima retorts, holding a hand to his chest, "But still! I couldn't do anything! When I heard they were after my buddy, I couldn't do anything! I didn't do anything!" He looks at Iida and inferno blazing in his eyes, "If I don't do this now. Forget being a hero, I'm not even a man!"
Kaminari holds a finger to his lips, "We're in a hospital, calm down Kirishima! We get that you're a hothead, but in this case."
"Iida is correct." Tsuyu interrupts.
"I know Iida's right! You all are, but," He turns to Midoriya, "They aren't beyond our reach just yet."
Mina shuffles clearly uncomfortable, "So you're gonna get this signal tracker thing from Yaomomo...and follow it..to go save Bakugou and Sera-chan yourselves?"
"Kirishima and I will go." Todoroki states, "The villains did say that we were on their hit list, but they took Bakugou and Hideyoshi alive. Still, we can't be sure the villains won't kill them."
"YOU..HAVE GOTTA BE JOKING!" Iida shouts, fury evident in his voice.
"Hang on, calm down Iida." Shoji says, blocking Iida from charging up to Todoroki and Kirishima, "I get it. Kirishima's pain over being not able to do anything...and Todoroki's regret of having Bakugou and Hideyoshi snatched before his eyes. I regret it all too...but this is no time to let emotions get the better of us."
Aoyama shivered remembering the night of the attack, "Let's just leave it all to All Might..besides we're not allowed to fight anymore."
"It's as Aoyama says," Tokoyami said, letting out a deep sigh, "Though I'm not one to talk after being saved myself."
"We're all still in shock over Bakugou and Sera-chan's kidnapping. I know how you guys all feel…"Tsuyu pauses clenching her fist, "Before this, all happened, on the first day of the training camp Sera-chan had told us that she kept having a bad feeling and it was giving her nightmares. She told us she just knew something bad was going to happen. We all tried comforting her, but truly we thought it was nothing. Now, thinking about it..if only we had listened to her..believed her...then maybe she would be here today." She looks up staring at Kirishima and Todoroki, "But...we have to think about this calmly. It doesn't matter how righteous our feelings are. If we start another fight...If we break the law, we're no better than villains!"
The whole room went silent at her words. Hideyoshi and Bakugou were a part of there class but, was it really worth doing this when they could leave it to the heroes? What could they even do to help?
"Sorry to interrupt," A voice said, "But It's time for Midoriya's examination."
They turned to the door to see a doctor standing at the door. Saying their goodbyes everyone quickly shuffled out of the room, trying to get away from the suffocating tension.
Kirishima stayed behind as everyone left, "I talked to Yaoyorozu yesterday. If we're going it has to be soon..tonight. I'm not even sure if you can even move in your condition, but you're still welcome to join us. Because I'm betting this is hurting you more than the rest of us." He turns around to leave but not before giving Midoriya another look, "We'll be waiting outside the hospital tonight."

82 Hours After Kidnapping
.
Outside the hospital, the figures of Todoroki and Kirishima were waiting anxiously, "Yaoyorozu said to let her think about it...I wonder though.."
"Well..no matter how fired up we are we aren't going anywhere without her help." Todoroki said.
"Ah..there she is now!" Kirishima exclaimed seeing Yaoyorozu walking out of the hospital a green-haired boy right behind her, "Midoriya, you came!"
The green-haired boy nods sheepishly, a hand rubbing the back of his neck. Todoroki notices that his arms are still wrapped in bandages. Something that usually didn't happen all the other times that Midoriya had broken his arms.
His eyes widened by a fraction, remembering how Midoriya was one of the most injured in the class. From what the doctor had said, he had been going in and out of consciousness for the past 2 days, burning a high fever. He even had to go through surgery in order to reset his bones. Midoriya's injuries this time definitely surpassed any other injury he might've had.
'And yet he still came.' Todoroki thinks. Midoriya was too heroic not to come. Despite Bakugou having some vendetta against him, Midoriya was still willing to risk coming here and helping rescue him. Hideyoshi, he could understand, after all, from his observations, both of them were good friends.
"Whaddya say Yaoyorozu?" Kirishima asks worriedly, staring at Yaoyorozu, head still wrapped with bandages.
"I—,"
Before she can answer they are interrupted by a voice, "Wait," Turning around they come face to face with Iida.
"Of all people, you should have known better." Iida gritted through clenched teeth, "Especially you two who criticized my rash actions and, like me, had to receive a special pardon in the end. Why are you about to commit the same blunder I did?! This is foolish!"
"What're you talking about?" Kirishima asks.
Iida stares at the ground, his fist clenched tight, "We're still under protection. And UA's already facing hard times. Who do you think will have to take responsibility for your actions."
"That's not how it is Iida," Midoriya interrupted, "Nobody said we're gonna break any law—,"
Iida leaped at Midoriya punching him in the face, "I HAVE REGRETS TOO, AND OF COURSE I'M WORRIED! I'M YOUR CLASS PRESIDENT! NATURALLY, I WORRY ABOUT MY CLASSMATES! AND NOT JUST BAKUGOU OR SERA! SEEING YOU HURT EARLIER REMINDED ME OF MY HURT BROTHER!"
He stops, his voice barely a whisper, "Sera, is currently the only one who can save my brother. With her quirk, she is able to do a surgery that will allow him to continue his hero work. So of course I want her and Bakugou to be saved. But, what happens when your vigilante act takes you somewhere there's no coming back from?! Are you saying that you don't give a damn?! Are you saying you don't care how I feel here?!"
"Iida," Todoroki says, "You don't seriously think we're planning on smashing down the door, guns blazing? Do you?"
Iida stared at Todoroki, confused.
"We're getting them back without fighting. It's gonna be a covert mission! That's how we heroes in training can fight on the right side of the law." Kirishima explains.
Yaoyorozu who had stayed silent the entire time finally spoke up, "I trust you Todoroki, but worse comes to worst, I should be there as back-up..which is why I'm coming too."
"Yaoyorozu?!" Iida exclaims.
"Yaoyorozu!" Kirishima cheers.
Midoriya clenched his fist in determination, looking at Iida he said, "I'm not really sure I get it..but the thought that we can still reach him..I just can't sit around and do nothing. I need to go save him."
Iida let out a sigh before relenting, "There's no swaying you...In that case..take me with you!"
"Wait," A voice suddenly interrupted them, all four turned there heads around to see a pair of floating clothes. "Take me with you!"
"HAGAKURE?!" Kirishima, Iida, and Midoriya shouted in unison.
"I thought you were still in a coma!" Yaoyorozu says walking up to give Toru a hug.
Toru let out a breath, tired from running down the hospital, "I had woken up a few hours ago. I was about to go see Yaoyorozu but I saw her go to meet you guys. I was about to follow but I had to go grab something," Her invisible hand reaches into her jacket pocket pulling out a small bottle.
Yaoyorozu gasped when she saw the container, "Toru! You didn't give it to All Might?!"
"What are you guys talking about?" Kirishima asked, confused, "What's in that bottle that has to do with All Might?"
Yaoyorozu and Toru looked at the boys and began to explain.

6 Days Ago: First Night of Training Trip
.
"Can I ask you guys a favor?" Sera says looking at the girls.
Mina cocks her head to the size, "A favor?"
Sera looks down awkwardly, "Yeah..I've been having this bad feeling lately since the whole training trip was announced. I just feel like something wrong is just waiting to happen. Which is why I've been acting kind of weird lately."
The girls looked at her in understanding, Yaoyorozu put a hand on her shoulder, "It's okay to feel like that, we're sorry we didn't notice that you were suffering alone. If you need us for anything please say it."
The girls all nod along, ears ready to listen to what Sera had to say.
"Well...I just wanted to ask...that if anything happens to me on this trip…" She pauses, taking in a deep breath, "That you'll give these items to someone for me."
"If something happens to you?" Uraraka exclaims worriedly, "Sera-chan don't say that!"
Sera waves her hands, "I know, I know! It's bad to say, but..it'll make me feel a lot better." She gives the girls a reassuring smile, "After the trip is over you guys can give it back to me."
The girls looked at each other for a few seconds before letting out a sigh, "I guess if it makes you feel better Sera-chan."

NOW
.
"So the bottle was the item she entrusted to you guys?" Midoriya asks.
"Yes, she gave us 2 bottles. Both of them were to be entrusted to All Might if anything happened to her. Both Toru and I were entrusted with them," Yaoyorozu said, before turning to Toru, "Why didn't you give yours to All Might?"
Toru waves her hands wildly, "No no don't misunderstand, I was planning on giving the bottle to All Might but right after Sera-chan handed the bottle to us it seemed she had a change of heart." She turned to look at the guys, "After our bath, she approached me and asked that I give my bottle to you Midoriya."
"Me?!" Midoriya exclaims shocked, "But why?!"
Toru shrugged, "I don't know, but after I saw you guys I quickly went to grab it. Here." She says handing the bottle to Midoriya.
Taking it from her hand, Midoriya stares at the blue pill bottle for a few seconds, thinking about Sera. If this bottle had what he thinks it held...then he really had to hand it to Sera for her intellect.
"Well? Come on Midoriya, open it!" Kirishima urges.
Midoriya hesitates for a few moments before putting his hand on the cap and giving it a good twist. The lid pops off, and he and the rest of the group looks inside.
Inside the bottle was a small piece of paper and 5 golden pills.
"What does the note say?" He hears Todoroki ask on the side.
Picking up the note he sees Sera's familiar handwriting.
For emergencies.
"This...this counts as an emergency...right?"

AN: So Chapter 23 is not yes fully edited...I know, I know, shame on me! I'll gey to editing it right away~ Anyways hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, and thank you for sticking with this story. I've been knitting lately, so I've kinda been lazy on my writing...to make it to you guys, and with some encouragement from ZabuzasGirl, I decided to post this chapter early. Since I'm a lazy hoe I usually post at noon or evening, but since I love you guys I'll give you an early chapter.

Some Life Updates: It's Okay to Not Be Okay finally ended, and I've got to say I really loved it. Kinda sad there was no time skip so I could see if they ended up having kids :(. But all in all, it was a very good drama, loved it 100%.

TheVulcanNara: I had to reread your review because it was so long lol :) Yes the wrist flick thing was inspired by Naruto and the throwing knives from the Hunger Games. Sera is still 15, and because I'm older than her, I tend to forget that sometimes. So I always try my best to remind myself that she isn't in her 20s, she's a 15-year-old kid. Smart or not she'll still make dumb decisions and forget things. Sera spent most of her life avoiding using her quirk, and whether she realizes it or not she has a slight fear of using her quirk. It's sorta why she never really trained much with the possible uses of her quirk. She just relies on the information already given to her by reading the genetic coding of her quirk. In later arcs though, we'll tackle her problems and how she gets over them~

Guest: [I'm sorry but this seemed like such a good story but I can't finish past chapter two. You have too many spelling errors and you spelled principal Nezu's name wrong you put Nedzu. I don't mean to be harsh but you might want to double-check your spelling going forward.]
Thanks for your review~ Sorry I have so many spelling errors, I try my best to fix them before uploading. I usually check it using Grammarly and then read over it manually, but sometimes I tend to mix things up. I have spelling errors in my chapters, but I think it's still pretty readable, but for those who can't stand it, after I'm further into the story I'll go back and edit the chapters properly :).
For the Nedzu or Nezu thing, both are actually correct. Since the character for Zu in Nedzu (or Nezu) can be romanized to Zu of Dzu, both work. Nedzu's name is a pun for the Japanese word, rat with is Nezumi which has the same characters as his name. The character ず can be written as Zu or Dzu, both sound exactly the same, but the romanization is just different. You can look it up for more info on the Wikia for BNHA or just googling Nedzu's name and see the responses.
