Chapter 24: All Hell Breaks Loose

Nessie's POV

Outside I could hear a lot of chaos. There was no other way of putting it but we were in deep shit now. All hell had broken loose. Jacob looked at me frantically. He looked at his back indicating that I should get on quickly.

I climbed onto Jacob's back as fast as possible. He grabbed Jr. by the scruff of his neck and took off running as fast as possible effectively knocking down the wall in the process. We ran past the stunned human doctors, and my equally stunned family members. Lisa looked like she was about to have a heart attack.

Jacob smashed through another wall and jumped from the second story onto the pavement below. Jacob kept running as fast as his paws would carry him. I could hear him grunting but he never once lost his grip on the pup he was carrying in his mouth. Our son. He really was a Jacob Jr. I had chosen the name well I thought.

I wasn't sure where he was going as he wasn't taking any path that I was familiar with. Then I saw trees quickly emerging in the distance. He must be going to the forest. Though why he was headed there instead of home was beyond. He didn't stop running until we were deep in the forest.

He skidded to a halt and he placed our pup on the forest floor. Jr. was very eager to explore his new surroundings. He sniffed everything he could. Unlike his father he was completely at ease right now. Jacob looked anxious. It was because if everything that had gone down at the hospital. We had really done it now. There was no more secret. The supernatural had been exposed.

"We're going to be okay right Jake?"

He looked at me and whimpered. He was just as unsure about the entire situation as I was. I rubbed his nose gently. It was all that I could do to calm my own nerves. He nudged me gently.

The surrounding forest itself did help to calm me down a little. Maybe that's why he'd chosen to come here rather then head straight home. Jr was so curious about everything in his surroundings. To my dismay I saw him lift his leg and pee on a tree marking it. It might've been my imagination but Jacob looked quite proud of our son's actions. It must be a wolf thing.

I took a deep breath. "What are we going to do Jacob? We can't stay here forever. Although I would love to do that. It's so peaceful,"

It sounded like Jacob was sighing also. We both knew that this was only temporary. We had to go back soon. Jr ran as fast as he could and crashed right into Jacob's leg. My son's stunned expression as he flipped over was funny. Jake nuzzled him playfully and started licking him. For a moment I was in heaven just watching the two of them. Watching Jacob play with our son was the most beautiful thing that I'd ever witnessed.

For awhile I was happy just to watch father and son interact with each other. I was only barely aware of the passing time. The sun was getting higher and higher in the sky. Then I saw something change in Jake. One minute he'd been laying down on the forest floor with Jr. nestled in right next to him and the next he was standing on all fours looking anxious.

Jacob threw his head back and let howled loudly. Jr. was all to happy to mimic his father's actions. He threw his tiny little head back and howled as loud as he could. Jake looked at him like a proud dad once again. There were answering howls nearby. The first wolf, a huge jet black wolf, was the first to appear. He was quickly followed by a dark silver wolf, a sandy colored wolf, a smaller light grey wolf, a chocolate brown wolf, and a wolf that had dark gray fur around his eyes.

Jr. looked terrified as he cowered behind his father. His little wolf body was trembling. This must be Jacob's pack that he'd told me about. He'd told me all about Shapeshifters and everything they could do. Even wolf telepathy. They must have heard about what happened at the hospital and ran all the way here from Forks.

I couldn't understand what they were saying but I saw when he picked up our son and placed him in front of the whole pack to see. His little body was trembling in fear. But I saw him visibly relax when the other wolves started to approach him and sniff him. Soon they were nuzzling him the way Jake had. They welcomed him into the pack as one of their own.

When Jake picked him up again and looked at me I knew what he was trying to say. That it was time to leave. It was time to head back home. So I climbed onto his back again and he'd took off running.

My dad was waiting outside for us he arrived. He'd probably heard us coming already. He handed Jake some clothes and disappeared. Jr. quickly followed him. A minute later the two of them re-emerged. Both human once again.

"I see the rest of the pack decided to come," dad said.

"It was unavoidable. As soon as they heard in my head what happened they had to come. It's their secret that's been exposed to,"

"We're going to need all the help that we can get. This is going to get ugly. What took you so long to come home anyway?"

"It was importantly to calm down for a long time. Why have we missed anything important?"

"No. It's just Nessie's sister-"

"What about her? Is she okay?" I was frantic.

"We brought her home with us and told her everything. Unfortunately the stress of the entire situation caused her to go into labor early and-"

"What happened?!"

"Well Nessie if you'd let me finish a sentence you would know," dad said calmly. "anyway she went into labor early. She's fine. Carlisle has her in a ventilator. But he believes that she will make it. Lisa's sleeping right now. Carlisle had to give her some medicine to calm down,"

"Can I see them?"

"Of course I'll take you there,"

Jacob and I followed him upstairs to the room where my sister and niece were. My sister was asleep just as he'd said. Beside her was a ventilator with a baby girl inside. My niece.

"Mama,"

"I'm here baby," I said as I took him into my arms.

I had my son and now I had a niece. All in less then one day. The baby girl opened her eyes and seemed to look directly at us. My son was suddenly squirming excitedly in my arms. He smiled brightly as he eyed her. He wanted me to get him as close as possible to her. His smile only grew wider.

"Oh no," Jacob mumbled. "I know that look,"

"What?" I asked. Frustrated he wouldn't explain more.

"I can't believe this. Our son is not even a day old and he's already found his imprint. He's too young,"

"But how? He's so young,"

"I don't know. But we've never had a shifter as young as him before. I agree though he's way too young to already have an imprint but I know imprinting when I see it,"

"What are we going to do then?"

" There's nothing we can do. It's involuntary. What I do know is that your mother is enjoying this moment of torture for me way too much,"

I heard my mom laughing downstairs.
