Arthur had tried very hard to get over the note, he and Merlin had just received by air mail. It was still in the back of his mind but right now he had more important things. Merlin had tried to keep his spirits up. Everything seemed to be blurry and whenever Merlin talked it seemed very muffled rather than clear like it usually is.
"Sire?" Merlins voice suddenly became clearer.
"What?" Arthur replied trying to figure out what Merlin had said.
"I just said whether we should turn off here." Merlin said staring at Arthur not listening to him.
"No. we should keep straight ahead." Arthur said continuing on.
Merlin hadn't really asked this but knew now that Arthur hadn't been listening to a word he had said. What's new?! Arthur made his horse continue along the path with Merlin in tow. Arthur didn't know exactly which way to go but followed his instincts instead.
They got to a crossroads. Down one was a very dense forest and the other more sky. Both looked a little bit sketchy but unless they turned back they had to choose one.
"Let's go the forest way." Arthur made the decision.
"Yes sire."
Suddenly a crow caw came from the forest. Arthurs horse reared up and nearly threw Arthur off by how much power it used. Arthur just about managed to calm it down before crows suddenly flew at the two.
"Where did these come from?" Arthur demanded as he tried to scare the birds away.
"They must have been hiding sire." Merlin answered also trying to swipe at the birds.
"I know that Merlin!"
"Then why did you ask then?" Merlin said angrily.
The birds went away when they heard Merlins tone. Merlin watched after them. Was this a sign? Merlin turned back to Arthur who was also chewing over the decision.
"Shall we go the other way?" Merlin asked Arthur.
Arthur turned back to the other way in the crossroads. It looked a lot more open and meant that they could see anything coming towards them. Also meant no birds could suddenly jump them.
"Sounds good." Arthur agreed.
"Lead on then sire." Merlin said waving at the way.
"You go first." Arthur waved to Merlin.
Merlin sighed and did what the prince said. Arthur kept back a laugh at Merlin. Merlin could sense this though but kept riding, hoping they would soon go back to Camelot soon.

The king was still shaking and whatever Gaius tried to do, it seemed to do nothing to help the king. Everyone had gathered around them to try and see whether they could help but Gaius waved them off so he could have some space.
"Can everyone get back please?!" Gaius shouted after he had, had enough of everyone crowding him.
The servants moved back but with some disagreements. Gaius finally sighed a sigh of relief when they did. He could finally treat the king with more space than anyone would realise.
"Anything I can do?" Gwen said from a distance listening to Gaius.
"Only if you can get the cure Arthur and Merlin are getting." Gaius shook his head.
"Only I wish I could."
"So, does everyone else."
Gwen looked over to Morgana. Morgana had been very quiet since the king had gone into this state. Gwen had gone over quite a few times, but Morgana had just ignored her, and Gwen had to go back to waiting for news.
The king finally settled down. Gaius sighed as he could go back to normal.
"Thank goodness for that." Gaius smiled to Gwen.
"He's going to be alright until Arthur and Merlin come back isn't he?"
"I hope so but right now, it's touch and go."
Gwen got another piece of cloth and put it on the kings face. Gwen didn't like Uther, but it didn't mean that she wouldn't look after Uther. Plus, Arthur had asked her to, and she didn't want to disappoint Arthur.

Arthur and Merlin hadn't been disturbed since getting past the crows back at the crossroads which was nice. Plus, it gave them time to chew over the message from home they had received.
"Do you think the Saxons have done much damage?" Merlin asked Arthur.
"No, the knights would have stopped them." Arthur replied.
"How come they've taken over then?" Merlin asked quietly.
"I don't know Merlin!" Arthur nearly shouted.
"Okay. Keep your armour on."
"Sorry Merlin." Arthur apologised.
Merlin could tell this was a touchy subject with Arthur. He would much rather be still at the castle fighting rather than staying out of the fighting.
"Where we going to sleep tonight?" Merlin tried to change the subject.
"On the floor, where do you think we're going to sleep!"
"Alright. It was only a question!"
"And I've answered it." Arthur said looking back at Merlin.
Merlin nearly stuck his tongue out at the prince but knew he would probably lose his job if he did and he didn't really want to lose it.
"Merlin…"
"Yes sire?"
"Do you think I would be a good king?" Arthur asked out of the blew.
Merlin was about to answer when they were surrounded by trees again. It was weird, only a few seconds ago they had been out in the open air!
"That's weird." Arthur said.
"Maybe we should turn back." Merlin questioned.
"We can't turn back now."
"Why not?"
"Because that's boring!" Arthur smiled.
"I'm just trying to save our skins." Merlin sighed.
Whatever Merlin said, Arthur was just going to go against it. Merlin sighed and then went in front of Arthur to follow the path to wherever it was leading.
