Chapter Twenty-Nine

Broke free, saw an open road
Footsteps led me to your soul
Now I run with a home to go to

Never thought I'd be this happy
If you're asking yes you have me
How you change my thoughts, you'll never know

-Jessie J (Thunder)

Small beams of sunlight filtered down through the lush canopy illuminating the pale mists that seemed to roll endlessly along the gnarled tree roots. They really should have named the Forbidden Forest the Forest of Endless Mist. He followed along after Cedric, who was looking for certain plants Professor Sprout required for a lesson later on in the following week. The taller teen's robes fluttered in the slight breeze and Harry couldn't help but smile. He watched how Cedric moved along the exposed tree roots with such grace and elegance, his big feet not stumbling or tripping once.

Harry looked down at his own shoes and smiled rather mischievously. Pulling out his wand, he decided to cast a charm Mr. Weasley had taught him. It would allow him to jump with ease and descend like a feather. With a quick swish, a giant swirl, and a flick the deed was done. He did a little jump straight up and lifted about two metres off the ground and hovered back down silently.

"Did you say something, Harry?" Cedric asked, turning around to look at him.

Harry shook his head. He was going to have to be careful how hard he pushed up with his feet. The last thing he wanted to do was jump and bang his head against a tree limb.

A beam of light fell across Cedric's face and Harry could only look at him. Mist around his ankles and a halo of light around his head. He felt his heart skip a beat. At times, it was hard to believe this guy actually loved him.

Harry jumped onto an exposed tree root and Cedric's eyes widened as the lithe teen jumped off and floated right over his head to land softy on another root. Harry laughed at the look on Cedric's face. The older teen looked as if Harry had grown wings or something.

"Do you know how dangerous it is to cast such spells on yourself?" Cedric asked, placing both of his large hands on his narrow hips.

"What's the use in having magic if you can't tweak a few spells here and there?" Harry asked, sticking his tongue out at him.

Cedric narrowed his eyes. "You could have really hurt yourself, Harry."

"I've done this before under the guiding eyes of a professional who works at the Ministry," Harry smiled, jumping off the root to flutter through the air, robes flapping behind him like raven wings. He landed soft as a leaf on the mist covered ground. "It could really come in handy during the last trial. I'll teach it to you."

Cedric shook his head but gave him a slight smirk. "You really are full of surprises."

Harry felt his pale face go a little pink in the cheeks.

"What happened with Snape?" Cedric asked, going back to hunting for the ingredients on his list.

"He accepted the gillyweed," Harry answered him, being mindful as he hopped along after Cedric like a nymph. He really was starting to get the hang of it now. "In the moment he looked like he was going to turn into a giant snake and attack me, but he didn't. He did end up taking twenty points from my house for lying and then he let me leave early."

"Do you feel better now?" Cedric asked, bending down to pick up a small glowing blue mushroom from under a moss-covered root.

Harry nodded his head. "I do. Thank you."

Cedric placed the mushroom in his bag and turned back to Harry. "I'm glad."

Harry jumped off the ground, and flipped right over Cedric's head, landing on another tree root like he'd been doing this for years. Harry was smiling from ear to ear and turned around to face Cedric who was clapping his hands.

"Wow!" Cedric said, running right up to him, dropping his cloth bag to the ground. "Now you really have to teach me this."

Harry stepped off the tree root and into Cedric's open arms.

Several minutes later, they were both jumping and floating around inside the Forbidden Forest like a pair of tree sprites. Harry had never seen Cedric's eyes so filled with joy and a sense of sheer freedom. It was a lot like being on a broom, except it was just you and your body.

They were both jumping from tree limb to tree limb now. The wind in their hair and robes. Laughter lighting up the darkness and making the mists seem to part below them.

Harry jumped and Cedric jumped after him. He hopped from limb to limb, moving up through the canopy meter by meter. Ducking and grabbing hold of limbs, he propelled himself up towards the sky above.

Both teens burst clear of the canopy and hovered down to stand beside each other on a large limb. Warm sunlight washed over them, causing them both to squint. Cedric put an arm around Harry and pulled him closer beside him as they gazed out over the full expanse of the forest. It looked as if it went on forever.

They both stood there like that, letting the sunlight warm them and the breeze flutter their robes. The limb under them swayed a little, but Cedric never let him falter. Even though they were deep in the Forbidden Forest, he felt perfectly safe. He knew Cedric would never let anything happen to him.

"I love you, Harry Potter," Cedric said, causing Harry to turn his head and look up at him. Those smoky eyes were looking down at him. The sun made them look as if they would soon reveal fire that made that beautiful grey colour.

Harry wrapped his arms around him. "I love you, too."

"Um," Cedric said, beginning to laugh. "Do you remember where I left Professor Sprout's bag?"

"Oh!" Harry said, pulling back a little and gazed around. Three hundred and sixty degrees of forest. "Uh oh…"

Cedric snickered.

"At least we can see the castle," Harry pointed.

"I'm pretty sure she'll forgive me this once," Cedric said.

"Or," Harry suggested. "We use a tracking spell."

Cedric smiled. "Retrace our magical footprints through the forest?"

Harry nodded and Cedric followed him down through the trees, descending back into that realm of shadows and mist.

Landing light as feathers on their feet, Cedric drew his wand. Harry stepped back and nodded.

"Appare Vestigium."

Golden sparks of light shot from the tip of his ash wand filling the whole air with swirls of gold dust. A second past and footprints began to glow. Two sets. One larger than the other.

"We go that way," Cedric said, pointing with his wand.

Hand in hand, they retraced their steps.

Ginny took the delicate china cup offered to her and took a small sip. She gently placed it down on the saucer and looked across the table at Professor Trelawney.

"I know, my dear," Professor Trelawney softly stated, nodding her head in empathy for the young girl's plight. "For I have seen it too."

"So, it is real?" Ginny asked.

"Very much," the professor answered her.

"I have to tell him," she said, putting the saucer and teacup down on the low table before her. "He has to be warned then."

Professor Trelawney shook her head. "Nothing can be done. The stars are forever in motion."

Ginny sat back, tightly gripping the armrests. "That can't be true."

"Such is our gift," Professor Trelawney whispered a little sadly. "Such is our curse of having the sight."

"I have to protect them," she said, moving to rise from her seat. "Harry protected me. He saved me. I have to do the same. I'll tell everyone. We'll all be there for him. Ron, the twins, Hermione, Neville…"

"You can tell them what you see. All of you can rise up and do everything you possibly can. In the end…the future will be."

"I have to do something," she said, walking around her chair to face the professor. "I can't let Harry end up…" A cold chill ran down her spine and she shivered.

Professor Trelawney gave her a sad smile. "He has found true love. He is happy. If you tell him, he will spend what time they have left in fear and struggling to prevent what is destined to happen instead of focusing on the now. But you do what you feel you must."

Ginny just looked at her. "You would allow it all to play out and do nothing?"

Professor Trelawney gazed into the shadows beyond the young redhead. "I have learned the hard way and paid so many terrible prices of trying to interfere. By telling people what's coming, I have actually made the outcomes worse and the pain even more unbearable."

Ginny bit her bottom lip.

"I am afraid, like me, you will learn this lesson the hardest way," Professor Trelawney whispered. "We see the future and we cannot change it."

"I need to try," Ginny said, fleeing the room through the trapdoor.

Professor Trelawney didn't move. She already knew what was coming.

Ginny rounded the corner and bumped into someone. "Oh, Professor. I'm so sorry. I was just on my way to find…"

"Obliviate!"

Ginny stood there for a moment and blinked her eyes. "Professor?"

"I believe you were just on your way to the Great Hall to get some dinner," the professor said, giving her a gentle smile.

"Oh! Yes. Of course." Ginny said, shaking her head. "I've been so focused on charms and potions, I lost myself there for a moment. Sorry for walking right into you, Professor Dumbledore. I'll watch where I'm going from now on."

"Quite all right, Miss Weasley," Professor Dumbledore said, waving her off.

She never saw that twinkle become a tear.

Not a single candle was lit. The Prefect's bathroom was lit only by the bioluminescence of a million blue and purple bubbles. Cedric floated on top of the steamy water with his eyes closed while Harry played with his hair. Over their heads, glowing bubbles floated through the air like faerie fire.

Leaning over, Harry gathered some sweet-scented oil in the palm of his hand and began to massage it into Cedric's scalp and running it down the lengths of his locks. The older teen made a sound of contentment and Harry smiled.

"I love having my hair played with," Cedric said.

Harry massaged the back of his head under the water. "I know."

Cedric drew in a deep breath and slowly let it out. The bubbles kept their nudity hidden but Harry could tell Cedric was aroused. Whenever his hands played over Cedric's skin like this, the older teen would become erect.

Harry pulled Cedric back into his arms and sat down on the marble seat just under the water. Reaching out with his hand, he gripped Cedric's long shaft and gently squeezed. Cedric's tilted his head back and looked up at Harry.

"Naughty," Cedric grinned.

Harry nodded.

He had Cedric to sit on the edge of the pool and spread his thighs before lowering his mouth onto him. Cedric's large hands began to run through Harry's long curly black locks and every other word out of his mouth was Harry's name. Lifting his mouth off, he gazed up at the heat in Cedric's face. The older teen's cheeks were golden pink, and he was panting a little.

Lowering his mouth again onto him, Cedric laid back on the floor, keeping his hands in Harry's hair. Glowing blue and purple bubbles floating all around them. His feet still in the water as Harry went down on him. That hot mouth bobbing up and down. Those lips and tongue torturing the tip and edges of his pink head.

His lifted his feet out of the water, holding his body totally erect and stiff. His toes flexing for but a moment before curling in as he drew in a quick breath and crying out as he pulled on Harry's hair, filling the younger teen's mouth with all he had. His feet splashed back down in the hot water and he laid there panting and twitching as Harry swallowed his warm seed.

Lifting his head, he watched as Harry pulled those succulent lips from off him and desire filled him to make Harry feel just as good. Allowing a few more seconds to pass, he sat up and looked at Harry like a well sated wolf. The green-eyed teen gave him a dark smirk and that was all it took. Cedric was on him with a splash.

Both laid in each other's arms and tangled limbs, gazing up at the starry tiled ceiling. The floor under their bare skin was warm from a heating charm. Naked and spent they laid in silence just enjoying each other's company.

"One week left," Harry whispered, wishing he had stayed silent.

Cedric lifted Harry's hand to his lips and kissed it. The bigger teen held him close, having Harry nestle his head just under his chin.

Well maybe I'm just thinking that the rooms are all on fire
Every time that you walk in the room
Ooh, well there is magic all around you, if I do say so myself
Well I have known this much longer than I've known you

Harry chuckled.

"Oh?" Cedric asked, snuggling him tighter. "How about this then?"

Take me down

(Vines rising from the ground)

I want you around

(They shatter every window)

To collect your sounds

(And I'm free falling now)

Where love might be found

Lightning illuminated the darkness beyond the stained glass. Cedric's lovely voice echoed all around and the sound of thunder crashing from high above just added to the magic. Harry gasped as tears sprang to his eyes at the beauty.

"I love you, Harry Potter," Cedric whispered into his ear. His enchanted sweet breath tickling him.

Harry kissed his throat. "I love you, Cedric Diggory."

To Be Continued…

Thank you for all the lovely reviews. I'm so sorry it has taken so long to update. I have moved to Australia and live remote in the heart of an ancient rainforest. This story will be completed because it is dear to my heart.

No Modern Day this chapter, because Modern Harry fell in the pool. Time is now null…for now.
