Chapter 22:Willpower

"No." I told them.

"What? Why not?" Chelsea replied as her eyes narrowed.

"Because. As much as I respect the reason why you three want to do this, I cannot allow it. You have dreams and lives to live. Furthermore, I cannot allow you three to be placed in dangerous situations. It is for the best that you let us handle this."

She soon glared at me. Just she was about to step forward her sister was the first to take that action. "Mr. Evans. I understand what you're telling us, but we can't do that. You are his father but Kameron is our friend and from learning a little bit about what's going on I don't want to standby and worry over him protecting the planet. I know that he can take care of himself, but lately he seemed to be hurting a little and whatever's going on now I want to be there with him." She said as she placed her hands over her chest.

"Me too. Please give us this chance to protect him as he protects us." Scarlet added as she stepped forward.

"What they said. Plus I get what you're saying, but I don't wanna do nothing either. Sure he's got a badass family, but he needs others with him too." Chelsea concluded as she stood beside her sister.

I raised myself from my chair and walked up to them. My eyes directed themselves to theirs as they each narrowed them right back at me. Quarantine alone was enough to help us with our objective and though I regret allowing them to do this, Humanity needed to know what was going on instead of being oblivious to it all. Even before them there were countless others that wanted to be apart of this and to this day I can remember seeing the very same expressions on their faces just like what the girls are showing me. My lips began to stretch from the memories. One of the greatest attributes a being could ever have, and the very one that made me do this in the first place. I slowly closed my eyes and exhaled some air from my nose before reopening them, "Very well. Though I will inform my children of this and ask for their help as well, you three are now welcomed into the Rainbow Gems. And your training shall begin immediately."

Their expressions soon softened and their lips began to stretch. "Follow me. If you are to protect and fight with us then I must witness what you three are capable of." I said as I walked toward the left side of the room.

"Where are we going?" Chelsea asked.

"You shall see when we get there." I replied as we walked onto the Warp Pad. "Now I suggest we all hold onto each other. Those that come with us on a Warp Pad for the first time often have to deal with the floating effect."

"Floating effect?" Angela questioned.

"Hold onto my arm and you three shall be safe."

I raised out my right arm as the girls grabbed onto it. I then activated the Warp Pad as a massive beam of light shined below us. Once we began warping the girls started floating while gripping onto my arm. Though it was a little shallow, I could not help myself from smiling. It was the same reaction Christie and Kameron had when they first did this.

Shortly after a while w made it to our destination. I dearly wished we could've went anywhere else throughout the world, but out of any location I chose this place for them. Scars were still echoing in my head as I gazed at it. The structure has decayed over time and it amazes me that it still stands to this very day.

"Whoa. What is this place?" Chelsea asked.

"Welcome, girls. Welcome to my castle." I replied as I walked forward.

"Castle?!" They all gasped.

I stopped and turned around to look at them. "Yes. This very structure that stands before you once connected to a kingdom long ago. If you would like to hear more then I suggest you keep up."

I heard their footsteps as they walked behind me. As we approached the entrance I raised my left arm out, making the girls stop where they stand. Falling onto one knee I placed both of my hands onto the stone bridge where we stand and closed my eyes. It has been a while since I've used my abilities. As I opened my eyes I witnessed my power growing further and further toward the front entrance. Slowly but surely, the bridge was now complete. "There we are." I said as I turned my head to the girls, "Shall we?"

They each nodded as I stood up and moved forward.

"Was there a bridge here before?" Angela asked.

"Indeed. However me and my knights destroyed it so the enemy wouldn't be able to enter inside."

"Knights? Okay, rewind. Are you telling us that you had your own group of knight? Where you a king too?" Chelsea questioned beside me.

I turned my head to her and spoke, "Yes. For a time."

Her eyes shot itself opened while her mouth dropped from my response.

"Wait a minute. If you're a king, does that mean Kameron's a prince?" Scarlet asked.

A few chuckled exited my mouth when she said that. "No, no. Those days were the ancient times. He doesn't prefer thinking about a life in royalty."

"Why not? I'm sure you were a good king." Angela said with a smile.

"I was. Though it was not easy establishing peace and order. For now, let us focus on why we are here." I replied as we approached the entrance.

As I opened the door we walked inside. Within the walls of the main entrance it was simply bleak. Nearly everything around us was either destroyed, torn apart, dead or decayed. It felt painful looking at what came about from the Great Battle, but this was a life I once had and if I could, I would do whatever it took to save those that have fallen.

"Wow. This place is wrecked." Chelsea said as she observed the area.

"What happened here?" Angela asked me.

"A bloodbath. Countless knights risking everything they have, and in the end some weren't able to push back enough." I replied as I kept walking forward.

"Bloodbath?" Scarlet asked.

As I walked I witnessed in front of me a sight that gripped me. Sitting there on the throne was nothing but a skeleton wearing my crown. He wore a gray and black surcoat with my Gem as the emblem, black stockings and boots, and a golden belt around the waist. There were no cuts or stabbings on him. I suspected the second option connected the lines more closely. Turning my head to the back of the throne I felt my eyes widening to the object on it. It is time for it to be used again. "Girls." I called out. "If you see any blades that aren't too damaged or broken I suggest you pick them up immediately."

"Why?" Angela asked.

I turned around with the object in hand. It was indeed big, but a little challenge would help them put in some effort. Their expression were undoubtedly natural upon it.

"What are you going to do with that?" Scarlet asked as her voice nearly broke.

"I would like to see if you three can fight. I shall not use any of my powers against you and this massive sword you see before you shall be my weapon." I replied before gripping onto it with both hands. "Show me what you are made of as they say."

Chelsea

Okay. This just got a lot more interesting. To be honest, he definitely might kick my ass, but it wouldn't hurt to tell Kameron I kicked his dad's ass. Turning my eyes around I spotted a sword that wasn't messed up. Running up to it I picked it up and ran toward him.

"Chelsea! Wait!" My sister called out. Sorry, sis. Gotta take the initiative.

Running up the stairs I swung my sword straight at his head. Just as it was about to reach it he raised up his big tub of steel and made it clash with it. Bringing my sword back I spun to get at least get his side, but he quickly moved his stupid sword and blocked me again. Geez, he's good.

"I respect your approach, Chelsea. However, you need to do more." He said as he pushed his sword forward.

I felt my body getting tossed into the air until I hit the stairs. It totally felt like crap rolling on them, and they were stone which made my body felt like it was going to hell until I hit the bottom.

Angela

I quickly went up to my sister and helped her up. She should've waited for me and Scarlet instead of charging in on her own.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

She grunted a little as I helped her get on her feet. "I'll live. Looks like daddy is still as strong as he was years ago."

"You do remember that this is his father, right?"

"Yeah, I know. Just kinda underestimated him a bit."

I narrowed my eyes from hearing that. We really shouldn't underestimate him at all.

Taking my sword I found I walked up the stairs to face him. Gripping tightly onto my blade I ran at him. Raising up my sword I soon swung it at him and naturally he raised up his broadsword to protect himself. My eyes soon shot opened as I just gained an idea to beat him. Leaping back I raised my sword up and ran toward him. I then quickly slashed my blade at his sword. After the clash I raised my sword and struck his again and again and again. I striked it at it's sides and even at the very tip and it I wasn't even making a dent. I then launched another swing aiming at the very center, "AAHHH!" The clash echoed in the air and...still nothing at all...

"Impressive, Angela." He said as I then looked at him. "I assume that you believed if you striked certain areas of the sword you could cause it to break. If this was an ordinary broadsword then your action would've worked, but I'm afraid that cannot happen." My eyes suddenly opened up as I heard this. "I assisted the blacksmith in forging this from several different forms of metal. Silver, Platinum and from the very teeth of a dragon. Think of this as the father to my son's Dragon's Claw which is made from several claws of dragons. It is known as Dragon Fang."

Dragon Fang... His father and himself have swords created from dragons. I...I didn't even know what to stay about that. But I soon shook my head from those thoughts as he pushed his sword against me, pushing my body back toward the stairs. No way am I going down like that as I landed my feet down near the last and raised my head toward him as my eyes narrowed.

Scarlet

This is problem. I'm not a fighter and I'm not that strong, but just because his sword was made from the teeth of a dragon doesn't mean he can't be beaten. I turned my attention to Chelsea, "You alright?"

"Nothing's broken. How are we gonna beat him?" She asked me as we went up the stairs.

"Don't know. But we'll figure it out."

As we made it to the top I walked up beside Angela and raised up my sword. "Time to end this, Mr. Evans."

"As I can see, I've already pushed back the Parks Sisters. Are you going to reflect any of their actions, Scarlet?" He asked.

"No. The three of us are gonna take you down. Whatever it takes. So beware our power."

His eyes shot open as I said that. Time to take this chance. "Girls! Go! Now!" I yelled.

They both looked at me, but soon rushed in and clashed their swords at him as I soon ran after them. Hope this works.

As they pushed toward him I turned my upper body and began making cartwheels. One. Two. Three. Four. FIVE! After the fifth cartwheel I launched myself into the air just above him and behind him before pushing him forward with a kick. The girls moved to the sides as he tumbled forward before the three of us launched more kicked at his back, making him drop his sword and falling onto the stairs toward the bottom. Not wasting the opportunity we ran down as he was recovering and pointed our blades at his neck. Not really something I or the girls would do to someone else's father, but if it was my father I would mind it at all.

Green

By the stars... they did it. "Congratulations, girls. You've passed your first test. I did not predict this at all or to a degree."

They each soon retracted their blades and Scarlet offered her hand to me. I placed my hand in hers as she helped me up. "You all have done well. I am very proud. Though I hope I didn't injury you that much." I asked as I looked at the Parks Sisters.

"Nah, it's good. I didn't really expect you to be that tough though." Chelsea said.

"My intention wasn't to cause harm but to witness the power you three had. That alone is the greatest thing you can ever obtain."

"So what happens next?" Angela asked.

"Would any of you like to explore the castle?"

"That doesn't sound too bad. Plus you've gotta tell us some stories when you were king." Scarlet replied.

"I'm definitely interested in that. Plus I'm sure you've at least had a queen before you married your wife right?" Chelsea added.

I carefully looked away from as she said that while my face felt warm. "Y-Yes, I've received a queen and several others before Christie, but that's not really important anymore."

"Why not? Afraid to tell about your playful nights?"

"Chelsea! That's none of our business." Angela said with narrow eyes.

I slowly raised my hand up to her, "It is fine, Angela. Aside from that, I believe I know a better story that is even more interesting than my love life."

"What's that?" Chelsea asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"The Azure Knight."

End of Chapter 22.

I hope you all enjoyed it. And I know this might be a bit short, but this is only a small bit of what is to come. Now it's time to focus on the Rainbow Gems again. Kameron is the main character, but it doesn't hurt to explore other characters in stories to see how they are instead of being their just for plot convenience.

See you all later.
